$La_2O_3-ZnO-B_2O_3$계 유리 첨가 알루미나 복합체의 유전특성 (Microwave dielectric properties of $La_2O_3-ZnO-B_2O_3$ glass-added alumina)

  • Influence of $La_2O_3$ addition to $ZnO-B_2O_3$-based glass on the water leaching resistance of the glass was first investigated. The optimized $La_2O_3-ZnO-B_2O_3$ (LZB) glass was ball milled for varying time, followed by mixing with $Al_2O_3$ crystalline phase to form $Al_2O_3$-LZB glass composites at $875^{\circ}C$ for lh. Microwave dielectric properties of the composites were investigated as a function of the ball milling time of the LZB glass. Dielectric constant and quality factor of the composites were 6.01 and 11676 GHz, respectively, when the LZB glass was ball milled for 2h prior to mixing with $Al_2O_3$.

  • Influence of $Nd_2O_3$ addition to $ZnO-B_2O_3$-based glass on the water leaching resistance of the glass was first investigated. The optimized $Nd_2O_3-ZnO-B_2O_3$ (NZB) glass was ball milled for varying time, mixing with followed by $Al_2O_3$ crystalline phase to form $Al_2O_3$-NZB glass composites at $875^{\circ}C$ for 1h. Microwave dielectric properties of the composites were investigated as a function of the ball milling time of the NZB glass. Dielectric constant and quality factor were 5.70 and 9497 GHz, respectively, when the NZB glass was ball milled for 6h prior to mixing with $Al_2O_3$.

  • In this study, BiFe$O_3$-BaTi$O_3$ ceramics have been fabricated by a solid-state reaction method. The effects of BaTi$O_3$ content in the (1-x)BiFe$O_3$-xBaTi$O_3$ (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.25, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) system on crystal structure and magnetic, dielectric, and ferroelectric properties were investigated. Perovskite BiFe$O_3$ was stabilized through the formation of a solid solution with BaTi$O_3$. Rhombohedrally distorted structure (1-x)BiFe$O_3$-xBaTi$O_3$ ceramics showed strong ferromagnetism at x = 0.5. Dielectric and ferroelectric properties of the BiFe$O_3$-BaTi$O_3$ system also changed significantly upon addition of BaTi$O_3$. It was found that the maximum dielectric and ferroelectric properties were exhibited in the (1-x)BiFe$O_3$-xBaTi$O_3$ system at x = 0.25. This suggested the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) with the coexistence of both rhombohedral and cubic phases of the (1-x)BiFe$O_3$-xBaTi$O_3$ system at x = 0.25.

  • The electrical characteristics of $ZnO-Pr_6O_{11}-CoO-Cr_2O_3-Y_2O_3$(ZPCCY)-based varistors were investigated with $Y_2O_3$ content in the range of 0.0~4.0 mol%. As $Y_2O_3$ content is increased, the average grain size was markedly decreased in the range of 18.6~3.2 $\mu m$ and the density of the ceramic was decreased in the range of 5.53 ~3.74 $g/\textrm{cm}^3$. While, the varistor voltage was increased in the range of 39.4~748.1 V/mm and the nonlinear exponent was in the range of 4.5~51.2 with increasing $Y_2O_3$ content. The addition of $Y_2O_3$ greatly enhanced the nonlinear properties of varistors, compared with the varistor without $Y_2O_3$. In particular, the varistors with $Y_2O_3$content of 0.5 mol% exhibited the highest nonlinearity, in which the nonlinear exponent is 51.2 and the leakage current is 1.3 $\mu A$. The donor concentration and the density of interface states were decreased in the range of (4.19~0.14) $\times$10$^{18}$ /㎤ and (5.38~1.15)${\times}10^{18}/\textrm{cm}^3$, respectively, with increasing $Y_2O_3$ content.

  • Tetragonal (t)-ZrO2/Al2O3 composites doped with Y2O3, Nb2O5, and Fe2O3 ((Y, Nb, Fe)-TZP/Al2O3) were prepared over the range containing Fe2O3 from 0.1 to 0.5 mol% with 0.1 mol% intervals to evaluate the effect of Fe2O3 addition on chromaticity, hydrothermal stability, and mechanical property of the composites. After autoclaving for 20 h at 18$0^{\circ}C$ under 3.5 MPa water vapor pressure, no tlongrightarrowm phase transformation was observed probably due to the preferential solid solubility of Fe2O3 in Al2O3, the presence of the rigid Al2O3 particles, and the inherent phase stability of (Y, Nb)-TZP. The optimized strength and the fracture toughness of the composite were 700 MPa and 8.5 MPa.m1/2, respectively, when 0.1 mol% Fe2O3 was added. The composites have shown a gradual color change from a slightly white ivory to a pale yellowish brown with increasing the Fe2O3 concentration.

  • The $0.96MgTiO_3-0.04SrTiO_3$ ceramics with $B_2O_3$(10wt%) were prepared by the conventional mixed oxide method. The structural properties were investigated with sintering temperature by XRD. According to the X-ray diffraction pattern of the $0.96MgTiO_3-0.04SrTiO_3$ ceramics with $B_2O_3$(10wt%), the ilmenite $MgTiO_3$ and perovskite $SrTiO_3$ structures were coexisted and secondary phase of the $MgTi_2O_5$ were appeared. In the case of $0.96MgTiO_3-0.04SrTiO_3+B_2O_3$(10wt%) ceramics sintered $1225^{\circ}C$, dielectric constant, quality factor and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency were 19.82, 62,735GHz, $-2.983ppm/^{\circ}C$, respectively.

BaCO3-TiO2계의 고상반응에 관한 연구 (A Study on Solid Reaction of BaCO3-TiO2 System)

  • Diffusion coupling experiment was done to study expansion of body and soild reaction in BaCO3-TiO2 system. Specimen of BaCO3 and TiO2 was formed with Pt-mark's method. Each specimen was fired at interval of 25℃ from 900℃ to 1000℃ for 2hrs. After that, specimen was fixed with resin and polished. Product layers of specimen were observed with SEM and EDS. The result were following; 1. Diffusion component is Ba2+, which diffuse toward TiO2. 2. Large crack between layer of BaCO3 and Ba2TiO4 was generated because of difference of thermal expansion coefficient. 3. Ba2TiO4 is formed to TiO2 body by the reaction of BaTiO3 and BaO and its structure is very porous. 4. BaTiO3 changes immediately to Ba2TiO4 by the reaction of BaO. But BaTiO3 which formed by the reaction of TiO2 and Ba2TiO4 exsists as layer because the diffusion distance of Ba2+ is far.

  • The varistor characteristics of $ZnO-Pr_6O_11-CoO-Er_2O_3$-based ceramics were investigated. $ZnO-Pr_6O_11-CoO-Er_2O_3$-based ceramics were sintered at $1300^{\circ}C$ and $1350^{\circ}C$in the addition range 0.0~2.0mol% $Er_2O_3$, respectively. $ZnO-Pr_6O_11-CoO-Er_2O_3$-based ceramics, which are added with 0.5mol% $Er_2O_3$ at $1300^{\circ}C$ and l.Omol% $Er_2O_3$ at $1350^{\circ}C$ sintering temperature, exhibited the bestexcellent varistor characteristics, namely, the nonlinear exponent was better 52.78 at $1300^{\circ}C$ thanat 13$1350^{\circ}C$ and the leakage current was better 6.57$\mu\textrm$A at $1350^{\circ}C$ than at $1300^{\circ}C$. Consequently, it is estimated that $ZnO-Pr_6O_11-CoO-Er_2O_3$-based ceramics, which $Er_2O_3$ is added in the range 0.5~l.Omol% will begin to be used as a predominant basic composition of $PR_6O_11$-based ZnO varistors.
