The greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum (Westwood) and the sweet potato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) are serious insect pests that have a wide host range including cucumber, tomato, and pepper. In this study, we tested larvicidal efficacy of several on-the-market environment-friendly agricultural materials (EFAM) to select the effective products after the target pests were stabilized in indoor rearing condition. The developmental periods of two whiteflies are as follows: in the case of T. vaporariorum, egg duration is 9.6 days and nymph is 18.9 days, and in the case of B. tabaci, egg duration is 7.4 days and nymph is 15.2 days under $25^{\circ}C$ with relative humidity (RH) of $60{\pm}5%$ and a photoperiod of 16 L:8D. The total period of T. vaporariorum was 5 days longer than B. tabaci. Among 22 EFAMs six products showed more than 60% of insecticide efficacy against T. vaporariorum BTV B, BTV D, BTV G, BTV L, BTV M, and BTV S. On the other hand, seven EFAM products showed over 60% of insecticide efficacy against B. tabaci BTV D, BTV G, BTV K, BTV L, BTV M, BTV N, and BTV U. In the case of Spodptera litura previously, 16 EFAMs were tested against $2^{nd}$ instar S. litura, and six EFAMs were found to have more than 90% efficacy. Test of these six EFAMs against entire larval stages were performed in this study. Although some of these products showed still more than 90% of insecticidal efficacy against up to $3^{rd}$ instar larvae, the efficacy of these EFAMs sharply decreased as ages increase, resulting in less than 60% of efficacy of the products at most. This result indicates the difficulty to control S. litura with the on-the-market EFAMs alone under economic injury level. Collectively, it is required to find more EFAMs, and find alternative method, and combined way of controlling to control those insect pests tested in this study.
These studies were conduced to investigate the effects of temperatures on development of each stage and distribution within tree and overwintering of mulberry scale, Pseudaulacaspis pentagona Tar. & Tozz. Growth ratio of each stage with different temperatures was not significant within range of optimum temperatures of growth. Developmental threshold and effective temperatures of each stage were $12.3^{\circ}C$ and 46.9 degree day in eggs, $10.8^{\circ}C$, and 183.8 degree day in first nymph, $9.8^{\circ}C$ and 188.2 degree day in second nymph, $10.3^{\circ}C$ and 383.0 degree day in gross nymphal stage, respectively. Longevity of female adults were 39.6 days in $18^{\circ}C$, 28.4 days in $22^{\circ}C$, 18.1 days in$26^{\circ}C$, and 15.7 days in$30^{\circ}C$. Average number of eggs in ovary and laid by individual female were 83.3 and 75.7, respectively. Optimum temperatures of growth were $22^{\circ}C$-$26^{\circ}C$ but all the eggs were not hatched at $35^{\circ}C$. Distribution of each stage within tree in summer was great at lower part of branch and overwintering adults was dominantly located in NE-SE followed by SE-SW, SW-NW and NW-NE. Percent mortality due to cold weather was 36.2.
An outbreak of Ricania sp. occurred in the Kurye, Jeonnam area in 2011. This outbreak damaged many kinds of fruit trees such as Cornus, Persimmon and Chestnut. This experiment was conducted to survey the occurrence ecology of Ricania sp. such as host plants, oviposition characters, morphological characters and life cycle, as well as to select environmental friendly control agents. Ricaina sp. host plants included 51 species such as 32 xylophytes, and 19 herbaceous plants. Ricaina sp. preferred Cornus officinalis, Diospyros kaki, Castanea crenata, Eucommia ulmoides, Styrax japonicus for oviposition. Adults laid eggs on new inner twigs with 28.8 eggs per egg-mass. Egg size was 1.24 mm(length), 0.55 mm(width) in an oval shape. Nymphs molted four times. Every nymph stage had an x shape of yellow or white beeswax around the anus. Overwintered eggs of Ricania sp. hatched from the mid May to early June. Nymphal periods were from mid May to mid August and adults appeared from mid July but spawning began in mid August. Ricania sp. damaged new twigs by oviposition and retarded growth by sucking nutrients and producing a sooty mold. Sophora and natural plant extracts were effective environmentally friendly agricultural materials used to control the nymph and adult Ricania sp. Mortality was > 80%.

The development of sycamore lace bug, Corythucha ciliata, had been studied at four constant temperature levels of 15, 20, 25, and $30^{\circ}C$. And characteristics of its oviposition were studied at field. Developmental periods of eggs were 39.1, 17.1, 9.8, and 8.0 days, those of nymphs were 58.5, 23.8, 14.5, and 10.8 days, hatchabilities of eggs were 42.0, 78.5, 83.3, and 78.7%, and survival rates of nymphs were 14.7. 60.5, 75.7, and 48.9% at different temperatures of 15, 20, 25, and $30^{\circ}C$. Lower development threshold temperature and the effective accumulative temperature above the threshold required to complete development from egg to nymph were $11.5^{\circ}C$ and 344.8 degree days, respectively. The optimum temperature was estimated to be $25^{\circ}C$ for developments of egg and nymph. The longevities of adults were 41.0 days and 37.0 days for female and male, respectively.
Daily predation of female/male O. sauteri during nymphal development were 4.2/3.9, 11.4/9.5, 14.3/10.8, and 14.7/12.5 at 17,22,27, and $32^{\circ}C$, respectively, and consumed 14.3/10.8 thrips, 7.5/7.2 aphids, 45.9/38.8 mites at $27^{\circ}C$, respectively. Adult females ate 42.8 thrips daily during preoviposition period and 63.2 thrips during oviposition period at $27^{\circ}C$. Predation by O. sauteri on F. occidentalis increased as the density of F. occidentalis increased. However, the rate of increase gradually lessened, resembling a Holling's type II functional response. The attack rate of adult female is higher than that of the 5th nymph. Adult female and 5th nymph of O. sauteri appeared to prefer 2nd larva of F. occidentalis.
This study was conducted to predict the hatching time of eggs of Lycorma delicatula, to select an effective environmentally-friendly agriculture material (EFAM) and to evaluate the attraction effect of brown sticky traps for controling of Lycorma delicatula nymph and adults. Eggs hatched 55.9, 26.8, 21.6 days after incubation at 15, 20, $25^{\circ}C$ with 14L:10D condition and the hatching rates of egg were 61.9, 57.8, 30.4%, respectively. At high temperature conditions, egg development periods were shorter and the hatching rate was lower. The relationship between temperature and developmental rate was expressed by the linear equation Y=0.0028X-0.0228, $R^2$=0.9561. The low temperature threshold of eggs was $8.14^{\circ}C$ and the thermal constant required to reach larva was 355.4 DD. According to this relationship, the mean estimated hatching date was $22^{nd}$ May. The effective EFAM was natural plant extract, sophora extract, derris extract to nymph and natural plant extract, pyrethrum extract, sophora extract to adult. Among three colors of sticky trap : brown, blue and yellow, the brown sticky trap was the most attractive to nymphs and adults of L. delicatula over a 2 weeks trial period. It suggested that the brown sticky trap could be a very useful and environment-friendly control method for nymphs and adults of L. delicatula.
A large number of stonefly nymph fossils were discovered from the Late Triassic Amisan Formation in the Boryeong region, Korea. These Plecoptera were classified as Platyperlidae, Baleyopterygidae, and Siberioperlidae based on their external morphologies. The Baleyopterygidae were most abundant among the fossils. This suggests that the plecopteran has already been widely distributed in the Northeast Asian region including Russia, Mongolia and China during the Mesozoic. The fossils of these stoneflies imply that benthic habitats of flowing and fresh waters may have existed, given the fact that they are similar with the biology of extant species. These Plecoptera were found together with Ephemeroptera and Conchostraca and thus, they were presumed to be preying on these insects.
The theatre costume in English Renaissance which is scarce in its historical materials can be inferred and imaginarily reconstructed from classifying it according to types of theatre costumes and considering its specific form in that age. The history of fashion could be also approached in the light of theatre costumes and it might be some help to the present theatre costume. Thus the purpose of this thesis is for contributing to the study of theatre costume by inferring the English Renaissance theatre costume from classifications and research of its pattern in detail. This thesis consists of the overview of the periodical background of English Renaissance and then analysis of the stage surroundings ar that time and classification of the theater costume acording to the types and finally inferences of the pattern of forms of the theatre costume. The theatre costume in English Renaissance can be divided into these group:(1) for foreigners such as Roman Turk Spanish and Jews (2) for supernatural beings such as a nymph god, goddess, ghosts, and witches(3) for professionals such as a clown, a clergyman. doctors and senators(4) for cast of animals such as a lion a bear and pigs. In the Elizabethan period theatre costumes were used together with Elizabethan costumes on the stage. Generally the theatre costumes in the age were typically made of very expensive materials and spectacles to the audience and compensating for the poor stage settings.

We have developed a composition containing three kinds of plant extracts (Deris, Citronella, and Cinnamon) and supplements (xanthan gum and silicone-based compounds) having high control effects on Metcalfa pruinosa. This composition had more than 90% of the nymph bug control effect in the ginseng plantation. In addition, since the insecticidal rate is high for other absorptive pests, it is considered that it can be used as a countermeasure against the implementation of the PLS (positive list system).
This article reviews Leptotrombidium deliense, including its discovery and nomenclature, morphological features and identification, life cycle, ecology, relationship with diseases, chromosomes and artificial cultivation. The first record of L. deliense was early in 1922 by Walch. Under the genus Leptotrombidium, there are many sibling species similar to L. deliense, which makes it difficult to differentiate L. deliense from another sibling chigger mites, for example, L. rubellum. The life cycle of the mite (L. deliense) includes 7 stages: egg, deutovum (or prelarva), larva, nymphochrysalis, nymph, imagochrysalis and adult. The mite has a wide geographical distribution with low host specificity, and it often appears in different regions and habitats and on many species of hosts. As a vector species of chigger mite, L. deliense is of great importance in transmitting scrub typhus (tsutsugamushi disease) in many parts of the world, especially in tropical regions of Southeast Asia. The seasonal fluctuation of the mite population varies in different geographical regions. The mite has been successfully cultured in the laboratory, facilitating research on its chromosomes, biochemistry and molecular biology.
