The paper presents a review of three data sets(Uniform Hospital Discharge Data Set, Nursing Minimum Data Set, and Nursing Management Minimum Data Set) and six major nursing classifications(the North American Nursing Diagnoses Association Taxonomy I, Omaha System, Nursing Interventions Classification, Nursing Intervention Lexicon and Taxonomy, Nursing Outcome Classification, Nursing Outcomes Classification, and Classification of Patient Outcome). The reviewed data sets and nursing classifications were different from each other in the purpose, structure, and user. Nursing Interventions Classification and Nursing Outcomes Classification were linked to North American Nursing Diagnosis Association, but others not. The data set and nursing classifications need to be linked to other data sets and classifications.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to show the development of community health nursing in Korea in light of the life of Lee Keumjeon (1900~1990), who devoted her life to community health nursing. Methods: Primary and secondary sources were collected and analyzed. Results: Lee could get high level education up to college courses, which was very exceptional at that time in Korea. She got nursing and midwifery education in Severance Hospital (1929) and majored in public health nursing at Toronto University (1930). Then, she worked in mother-and-child health practice for more than 10 years. She helped the Korean Nurses' Association to publish Public Health Nursing (1933) and other nursing books. After the liberation of Korea, she became a governmental official in the public health nursing field and tried to establish the national public health nursing system. During the Korean War, she devoted herself to nursing education and practice at nursing schools and hospitals. After the war, she worked as president of the Korean Nurses' Association. In 1959, Lee was given the Nightingale award. Although she retired in 1960, she continued to devote herself to the development of nursing, and published her book Public Health Nursing (1967). Conclusion: Lee worked from 1920s to 1960s for the development of nursing in Korea and during the period Korean nursing showed great development to national system and professional status.

Purpose: This study was conducted to develop nursing standards for medical patients with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) patients. Methods: This study was a methodological study. The content of nursing standards for medical patients with CAD developed in this study was validated. The nursing standards of cardiovascular nursing developed by the American Nurses Association (2008), the nursing standards developed by the Korea Nurses Association (2003) and a clinical manual of patients with CAD developed by K teaching hospital were reviewed. Literature regarding CAD nursing standards was also reviewed. The basic contents of nursing standards for medical patients with CAD were selected by an expert group including two nursing faculties, a cardiovascular unit manager, and two cardiologists. A pilot study was conducted then in real clinical settings, in which includes cardiovascular outpatient clinic, cardiovascular inpatient units, and cardiac intensive care units to evaluate clinical suitability of the nursing standards. Results: The final version of the nursing standards for medical patients with CAD included 12 standards, 24 criteria, 38 indicators and 92 nursing activities. Conclusion: The nursing standards developed in this study can be used in evaluating quality of nursing service and in educating nurses who are involved in patients with CAD.

Purpose: This study was conducted to determine the mediator effect of social support in the association between stress for college life and depression among nursing students. Methods: The participants of the study were 201 university students in A and C cities. Self-report questionnaires were used to measure the variables. In the data analysis, the SPSSWIN 25.0 program was utilized for descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, Sobel test and multiple regression analysis. Results: Mean scores of stress for college life, depression and social support were 2.56, 4.12 and 0.61, respectively. Stress for college life and depression showed a significant positive correlation (r=.60, p<.001), while depression and social support showed a significant negative correlation (r=-.46, p<.001). Lastly, stress for college life and social support showed a significant negative correlation (r=-.55, p<.001). The analysis of the mediator effect of social support in the association between stress for college life and depression showed that social support had a significant mediator effect. Conclusion: Among nursing students, social support may be a mediator in the association between stress for college life and depression. Therefore, strategies for nursing intervention to improve social support should be developed for nursing students.

Purpose: This study was to present education and holistic care of Elizabeth J. Shepping (1880~1934), a nursing missionary and a founder of the Chosun Nursing Association who visited Korea during the Japanese colonial period. Methods: Primary and secondary sources were collected and analyzed. Results: This study provides important implications regarding Shepping's holistic nursing as follows: First, she came to Korea after studying nursing and bibliology and being trained for nursing missionary works. Second, she cared for many Koreans, especially Korean women, to protect them from poverty, oppression, ignorance, and illnesses. Third, she continued to spread holistic care in hospitals and other local communities. She trained nurses, developed nursing education, and produced a large number of domestic nursing leaders by establishing women's Bible school. Fourth, she founded the Chosun Nursing Association, serving as its first president for 10 years and applied to join the International Council of Nurses (ICN). Conclusion: Finally, suggestions were provided for future research, and it will be necessary to study thoroughly nursing achievements by nurses from other countries who practiced their nursing activities in Korea, and such studies are expected to lead to analysis of nursing missionaries' experiences.

This study was to investigate the current educational situation for Basic Life Support (BLS) and perception on CPR related emergency situation and its relationship with basic nursing skill among undergraduate nursing students in Korea. Participants consider help from others are the most important elements in CPR situation, followed by the skills and knowledge. The majority of the subjects (79.7%) selected high and very high for the association between basic nursing skill and CPR management. The well systematized skill training may ultimately improve students' the ability to react on real-life accidents using well developed emergency management skills.
