The variation of the particle size distribution and density as well as the chemical composition of aerosols is important to evaluate the particles. This study measured and analyzed airborne particles using a scanning mobility particle sizer (SMPS) system and an aerodynamic particle sizer (APS) at the University of Seoul during every season. The highest particle number concentration of airborne particles less than $0.9\;{\mu}m$, occurred in winter, while the highest particle number concentration of airborne particles more than $0.9\;{\mu}m$, occurred in spring. Mass concentration appeared highest at spring. Also, when we compared $\beta$-ray's mass concentration with calculated mass concentration by using the SMPS-APS system during each season, density of the winter is $1.92\;g/cm^3$, spring density is $1.64\;g/cm^3$, fall density is $1.57\;g/cm^3$. We found out that PM10 density was differ every season. However, while the calculated density is whole density for PM10 the density of each diameter was different. In this study the density estimation equation of the QCM cascade impactor measured mass concentration of each diameter.
The dependence of CT scanning parameters on the CT number to physical density conversion from the CT image of CT and CBCT electron density phantom acquired by the CT scanner using in radiotherapy were analyzed by experiment. The CT numbers were independent of the tube current product exposure time, slice thickness, filter of image reconstruction, field of view and volume of phantom. But the CT numbers were dependent on the tube voltage and cross section of phantom. As a result, for physical density range above 0, the maximum CT number difference observed at the tube voltage between 90 and 120 kVp was 27%, and the maximum CT number difference observed between CT body and head electron density phantom was 15%.
Using micro-wells on the Mo substrate, we could obtain various tubular-volcano-types of free-standing diamond field emitters by depositing a diamond film detaching the film and turning the film upside down. The field emission characteristics of these structures were investigated as a function of size, shape and the number density of the tubular-volcano-type diamond field emitters. The field emission characteristics, especially the current density, were greatly enhanced with increasing the number density of the tubular-volcano-type diamond field emitters on the Mo substrate. Based on these results, we suggest that the reduction of the well size can give better field emission characteristics by the increase in the number density of the tubular-volcano-type diamond field emitters. Finally, we suggest the feasibility of fabricating a large-area field emission display using our patterned tubular-volcano-type free-standing diamond field emitters.
This study was carried out to investigate experimentally the effect of three factors(dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of tire) on soil compaction under the tire. The experiment were conducted with a 6.00R14 radial-ply tire for sandy loam soil using soil bin system. To evaluate the effect of three factors on soil compaction under the tire, the sinkage. density and volume of soil under the tire were measured fur the three levels of dynamic load(1.17kN, 2.35kN and 3.53kN), for the three levels of tire inflation pressure(103.42kPa, 206.84kPa and 413.67kPa), and for three different number of passes(1, 3 and 5). The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. As dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire increased, soil sinkage and density increased. and volume of soil decreased. Thus increase in dynamic load, inflation pressure and number of passes of the tire would increase soil compaction. 2. The effect of tire inflation pressure on sinkage. density and volume of soil under the tire was relatively less than that of the dynamic load. Therefore, it was concluded that dynamic load was more important factor affecting soil compaction in comparison to the inflation pressure of tire. 3. The effect of three different factors on sinkage, density and volume of soil decreased as the soil depth increase. Consequently, it was fecund that soil compaction at a shallow depth in soil was larger than that at deep place in soil.

Domestic rice is more expensive than imported products, so it is necessary to reduce production costs to secure competitiveness. Low-density planting developed in Japan is a cultivation technology that reduces labor and production costs without yield loss. The area of low-density cultivation is continuously increasing. However, research on how rice transplanters adapt to low-density planting has not been conducted. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the optimal working conditions of a rice transplanter for low-density planting. Three types of rice transplanters were used and treated based on 3 conveying distance levels. The number of picked seedlings, pick missing rate, the number of planted seedlings, and the mis-planted rate were investigated to evaluate planting accuracy according to the transfer distance to the seedling tray. The results showed that the number of planted seedlings was 4.31~4.95 EA with an L1 seedling tray transfer distance (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 8 mm), but the mis-planted rate was higher than in other conditions. At L2 (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 10 mm) and L3 (horizontal 11 mm, vertical 8 mm) transfer distance conditions, the number of planted seedlings were 4.89-5.68 EA and 4.69-5.66 EA, respectively, with a low mis-planted rate of less than 3%. The results showed that if the transfer distance is adjusted properly, a rice transplanter can be used for low-density planting with high planting accuracy.
The spray characteristics of dual orifice injector were investigated under two different fuels through measurement of SMD, number density and volume flux by using PDPA system. In this experiment, we found out that the droplet size and spray structure are strongly depend on fuel density and viscosity.
In this paper we present a random number generation method which is one of the rejection methods, To accelerate ratio-of-uniform method we use an efficiency variable γ. After finding the optimal value of γwith respect to interesting distribution with pro-portional density random numbers can be generated in acceleration.

This study was carried out to investigate the effects of stocking density on eating and ruminating behavior of Hanwoo steers (Bos taurus coreanae) in the finishing period. A total of 30 finishing Hanwoo steers ($631.3{\pm}11.4$ kg, 25 months old) were allocated to one of four stocking density groups comprising 1, 2, 3, and 4 steers per 32 $m^2$ pen [G1 (32 $m^2$), G2 (16 $m^2$), G3 (10.7 $m^2$) and G4 (8 $m^2$), respectively] in triplicate. Eating, rumination behaviors, as well as dry matter intake of steers were measured, and the results were subjected to analysis of variance with stocking density as the main effect. The results of eating behaviors over 48 hours are summarized as follows: Total intake was significantly (p<0.01) higher in G1, G2, and G3 compared to G4. Eating time was not different among the treatments, whereas ruminating time increased in the order of G1 > G2 > G3 > G4 (p<0.01). However, resting time and chewing time (sum of eating and ruminating) were not significantly different among the treatments. Number of boluses and number of total chews were highest in G1 (p<0.01), whereas number of chews per bolus was highest in G3 (p<0.01). Ruminating time per bolus as well as number of boluses per minute was not significantly different among the treatments. Number of defecations was higher in G1 and G2 animals compared to G3 and G4 animals (p<0.01). However, stocking density had no effect on drinking or urination. In conclusion, increasing stocking density (i.e. G4) per pen decreased voluntary intake, ruminating time, and total chewing number in the finishing period of Hanwoo steers. However, care must be taken in discussing stocking density in the present study as the space allowance per animal was satisfactory to meet the current animal welfare regulation in Korea and in Europe, although the beef production system in Korea is more intensive than in Europe.
The crystallization characteristics of metallocene linear low density polyethylene was investigated by small angle light scattering and comparison was made with Ziegler-Natta linear low density polyethylene. The special efforts were made to find out the effects of branching number, length of branching and co-monomer content of m-LLDPE on the crystallization behavior of m-LLDPE. It was found that m-LLDPE has longer induction time to start crystallization from the amorphous state than that of conventional LLDPE with similar branching number, but the rate of crystallization seems not change much in both LLDPEs. Lowering of branching number in m-LLDPE resulted in both increasing of rate of crystallization and reducing induction time to crystallize. In general, the maximum size of spherulites of m-LLDPE is bigger than that of conventional LLDPE.
It is necessary to diagnose accurately the characteristics of soot formation and oxidation in a diesel engine. Whereas past measurement techniques for soot concentration give limited information for soot, laser-based two-dimensional imaging diagnostics have a potential to provide temporally and spatially superior resolved measurements of the soot distribution. The technique using laser sheet beam has been applied to an optically accessible diesel engine for the quantitative measurement of soot. The results provided the information for reduction of soot from the diesel engine. Both LIS (Laser Induced Scattering) and LII (Laser Induced Incandescence) techniques were used simultaneously in this study. The images of LIS and LII showed the quantitative distribution of the soot concentration in the diesel engine. In this study, several results were obtained by the simultaneous measurements of LIS and LII technique. The diameter and number density of soot in combustion chamber of the test engine were obtained from ATDC 20 degree to 110 degree. The soot diameter increased about 37% between ATDC 20 degree and 110 degree. The number density of soot, however, decreased significantly between ATDC 40 degree and 70 degree.
