  • Null designs form a vector space and there are only finite number of minimal null designs(up to scalar multiple), hence it is natural to look at the convex polytopes of minimal null designs. For example, when t = 0, k = 1, the convex polytope of minimal null designs is the polytope of roofs of type An. In this article, we look at the convex polytopes of minimal null designs and find many general properties on the vertices, edges, dimension, and some structural properties that might help to understand the structure of polytopes for big n, t through the structure of smaller n, t.

  • Null designs on the poset of dual polar spaces are considered. A poset of dual polar spaces is the set of isotropic subspaces of a finite vector space equipped with a nondegenerate bilinear form, ordered by inclusion. We show that the minimum number of isotropic subspaces to construct a nonzero null t-design is ${\prod}^{t}_{i=0}(1+q^{i})$ for the types $B_N,\;D_N$, whereas for the case of type $C_N$, more isotropic subspaces are needed.

  • This paper provides a study of lightlike submanifolds of a generalized Robertson-Walker (GRW) space-time. In particular, we investigate lightlike submanifolds with curvature invariance, parallel second fundamental forms, totally umbilical second fundamental forms, null sectional curvatures and null Ricci curvatures, respectively.

  • In this paper we derived the asymptotic distribution of the MUSIC null-spectrum, form which an exact expression of the asymptotic variance of the MUSIC null-spectrum can be obtained. From this result in addition an explicit expression of the normalized standard deviation has been derived and it is shown that the normalized standard deviation depends only on the number of sensors and the number of signals.

  • Let $\mathbb{M}^3_q(c)$ denote the 3-dimensional space form of index $q=0,1$, and constant curvature $c{\neq}0$. A curve ${\alpha}$ immersed in $\mathbb{M}^3_q(c)$ is said to be a Bertrand curve if there exists another curve ${\beta}$ and a one-to-one correspondence between ${\alpha}$ and ${\beta}$ such that both curves have common principal normal geodesics at corresponding points. We obtain characterizations for both the cases of non-null curves and null curves. For non-null curves our theorem formally agrees with the classical one: non-null Bertrand curves in $\mathbb{M}^3_q(c)$ correspond with curves for which there exist two constants ${\lambda}{\neq}0$ and ${\mu}$ such that ${\lambda}{\kappa}+{\mu}{\tau}=1$, where ${\kappa}$ and ${\tau}$ stand for the curvature and torsion of the curve. As a consequence, non-null helices in $\mathbb{M}^3_q(c)$ are the only twisted curves in $\mathbb{M}^3_q(c)$ having infinite non-null Bertrand conjugate curves. In the case of null curves in the 3-dimensional Lorentzian space forms, we show that a null curve is a Bertrand curve if and only if it has non-zero constant second Frenet curvature. In the particular case where null curves are parametrized by the pseudo-arc length parameter, null helices are the only null Bertrand curves.

  • If broadband interference signals are incident at an array of sensor/antenna elements, it is desirable to form a set of bnoadband nulls around the directions of the interference signals to improve the array performance. An efficient way of generating a broadband null is to synthesize a derivative null. The performance of a derivative null in a constrained linear array which is subjected to random variations with respect to array weight and element Position is discussed. Computer simulation results are presented.

  • When an observable is described by a single value, the statistic significance may be estimated by construction of null distribution using permutation and counting the portion of it that exceeds the observed value by chance. Genome-wide association study usually focuses on the association measure between a single or interacting genotypes with a single phenotype. However investigation of common genotypes associated simultaneously on multiple phenotypes may involve the observables that should be described with multiple numbers. Statistical significance for such an observable would involve null distribution in multiple dimensions. In this study, extension of the p-value estimation process using null distribution in one dimension has been sought that may be applicable to two dimensional case. Comparison of the position of points within the set of points they form has been proposed to use a positioning parameter inspired by the extension of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov statistic to two dimensions.

  • An active phased array antennas can not only electrically steer the beam by controlling the weighting of the excitation signal, but can also form a pattern null in the direction of the interference source. The weight of the excitation signal to steer the main beam can be easily calculated based on the position of the radiating element. In addition, the weight of the excited signal for pattern null formation can also be calculated by setting the required radiation pattern and using WLSM(Weighted Least Squares Method). However, in a general wireless communication network environment, the location of the interference source is unknown. Therefore, an adaptive pattern null synthesis is needed. In this paper, it was confirmed that pattern null synthesis according to the required radiation characteristic was possible. And based on this, adaptive pattern null synthesis into the direction of an interference source was studied using a binary search algorithm based on observation area. As a result of conducting a simulation based on the presented technique, it was confirmed that adaptive pattern null forming into the direction of an interference is possible in efficient way.
