  • In this paper, we design internal space in plunger-type low pressure vacuum injection molding machine from numerical study. And we study characteristic of viscoelastic flow for searching injection molding condition. Then the flow analysis was performed using the CAE S/W. The result shows optimal value of nozzle and hole in injection chamber. And we investigated qualitatively relationship between injection pressure and injection mass flow with variable shear rate

  • In this study, we used In-line orifice mixer for efficient chemicals mixing in water treatment. The method of using In-line orifice mixer has been already proved the improvement of water treatment efficiency. Numerical study was performed using FLUENT, a commercial code, to standard design and production of effective In-line orifice mixer. As variable for exactly standardizing, a proper ratio between an outer diameter of cone and a diameter of pipe, a distance between cone and orifice, a determination of orifice diameter for an optimal mixing, a distance between injection nozzle's position and cone, Numerical study has been performed for optimal standard and analyzed flow field on a basis of turbulent intensity in an orifice downstream.

  • Based upon the results of numerical calculation. empirical scaling equations were made for supersonic under-expanded jets in both axisymmetric and two dimensional flows. The objective of the present study is to obtain a straightforward method that can predict the under-expanded supersonic jets issuing from various kinds of nozzles. The present empirical equations were agreed with the calculation results of total variation diminishing difference scheme. The supersonic under-expanded jets operating with a given pressure ratio could be well predicted by the present scaling equations.

  • 본 연구는 액체산소와 케로신을 추진제로 하는 액체로켓엔진에 막냉각 링을 장착하여 추진제의 혼합비의 변화 및 막냉각제의 종류, 유량 그리고 분사위치에 따라 추력실 길이방향으로 외벽온도를 측정하였다. 연소실험을 위하여 thin wall 연소실과 노즐을 제작하였으며, 측정된 온도를 이용하여 추력실에 발생하는 열유속을 계산하였다.

  • The main objective of this study is to develop a gripper mechanixm that can be employed for assembly and removal tasks of a nozzle-dam of steam genetator in the process of the nuclear reactor maintenances. Brief description of the open-close thpe gripper mechanism, its position analysis, and its kinematic analysis are given. The optimal design of the gripper mechanism with and without slipping on its two gipping surfaces is considered. As an optimal design index, the ratio of the actuator force of prismatic cylinder to gripping load is proposed. Then, based on this index the oiptimal design is carried out to identify values of optimal design parameters for the gripper dechanism.

Ablative Characteristics of Carbon/Carbon Composites by Liquid Rocket

  • The Carbon/Carbon composite was prepared from 3D carbon fiber preform and coal tar pitch as matrix precursor. In order to evaluate of ablative characteristics of the composite, liquid rocket system was employed Kerosene and liquid oxygen was used as propellants, operating at a nominal chamber pressure of 330 psi and a nominal mixture ratio (O/F) of 2.0. The results of an experimental evaluation were that high density composite exhibited high, while low density composites showed low erosion resistance. The erosion rate against heat flux was highly depended on the density of the materials. The morphology of eroded fiber showed differently according to collision angle with heat flux on the composite. The granular matrix which derived from carbonization pressure of 900 bar was more resistance to heat flux than well-developed flow type matrix.

  • This study is to obtain basic data concerned with properties of foam for foamed concrete and foaming method. Main factors of this study are types of foaming agents, temperature of solution with foaming agents, and types of foam generator. Testing items are size distribution of foam, foaming ratio to solution, and stability of foam. The results of this study were shown as follow. It is optimum condition of foam generator that length/diameter of foaming tube is 2.0, bead size within foaming tube is $4\~6mm$, and nozzle size of foaming tube is 10mm. AES and AOS are good results to produce high quality foam, and stability of foam is good in foaming temperature of $20^{\circ}C$.

  • Experimental investigations are performed on the stability and the structure of bluff-body stabilized hydrogen flames. The velocities of coflow air are varied from subsonic to supersonic velocity of Mach 1.8 and OH PLIF images and Schilieren images are used for analysis. Three characteristic flame modes are classified into three regimes with the variation of fuel-air velocity ratio; a jet like flame, a central-jet dominated flame and a recirculation zone flame. Stability curves are drawn to find the blowout regimes and to show that flame stability is improved by increasing the lip thickness of fuel nozzle that works as bluff-body. $Damk{\ddot{o}hler$ number is adopted in order to scale the blowout curves of each flame obtained at different sizes of the bluff-body and all blowout curves are scaled successfully regardless of its bluff-body size.

  • 본 논문에서는 소비톨과 질산칼륨을 이용한 고체추진제의 연소특성을 파악하였다. 여러 연소실험을 통하여 연소속도를 구하고 비추력과 특성배기속도를 이론값과 비교하였다. 추력 측정은 판스프링을 이용한 추력측정장치를 이용하였다. 추진제의 성분비를 변경하면서 실험을 하였으며, 실험값을 바탕으로한 고체추진제의 연소특성은 1mm 노즐의 마이크로 고체로켓의 설계 파라미터로 이용되었다.
