  • Two marine algal halymeniacean species were collected from eastern coast of Korea during the survey of indigenous species of algae. One is distinct from other similar species by foliose thalli with irregular shape and several branches and linear proliferations without division. The other is characterized by indistinct midrib, foliose unbranched thalli and refractive ganglioid cells in medulla. These two species are identified as Grateloupia latissima and Cryptonemia yendoi based on the morphological features, respectively. Morphological and taxonomic notes on these species are included in the present study. This is the first record of G. latissima and C. yendoi from Korea.

  • The separation mechanism is installed to separate a note one by one from the stacked notes and the overlap type, one of separation mechanism, has been used a lot in financial equipments like ATM. This paper has compared and estimated analysis results using finite element method with experimental results over various parameters such as conditions of note, overlap value, roller shapes, which affect the friction force (resistance) exerting on notes between rollers. Consequently, the effect of various parameters on the performance of overlap type separation mechanism can be known and optimal shape and overlap value can be obtained.

  • Restoration behavior of folded Korea bank note was studied. The variables were folding radii (0.5, 1, 3, 5. 7, 9 mm) and folding time. Initially, bank note was completely folded to make $180^{\circ}$ against predetermined radius panel, and restored angles were measured according to allowed restoration time. We found as folding radius was smaller and as folding time was longer, restoration speed of folding angle became slower and the amount of final restoration was smaller, respectively. Initial restoration angles were related to the elastic moduli of the bank notes, and final restoration angles were inversely related to the TEA of the bank notes, respectively.

  • This article presents a review of technologies for an endoscope. The classification according to the clinical applications and the imaging modalities are summarized. The major parts are focused on describing the gastrointestinal endoscope's structures and mechanisms. The details of the image enhanced endoscopic techniques, such as NBI (narrow band imaging), OCT (optical coherence tomography), and EUS (endoscopic ultrasound), are also explained. Finally, the trend of NOTES (natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery) which is new fusion technology in the field of endoscopic diagnosis and surgery is introduced.

  • Standardization is a prerequisite of quality control in any field. Library field is not an exception. The bibliographic control structures of AACR2R, MARC, DDC, LCC, LCSH, ISBD are highly standardized and dependent on rigorous authority work, so that libraries and bibliographic utilities using these tools could provide effective quality services. In order to emphasize the importance of standardization in the field of bibliographic control structures, this study focuses on inconsistencies in transliterated foreign personal and geographic names in headings, used as the caption of a given class as well as in notes describing what is found in a class or clarifying the notation hierarchy in the 4th edition of KDC. This study also examines Korean transliteration of loan words in the schedule as well as the transliterated entries of the Relative Index.

  • The purpose of this study Is to analyze the homepage contents of an auction site on the Internet. This study collected 459 cases of purchasing and selling notes, and classified them into three types. The finding showed that some of the most frequently-occurring consumer problems are concerned with delivery and return, and sellers manner. On the other hand, consumers' manner is important to sellers. The auction site itself has problems with consultation and its own system.

  • Eight samples, collected from six moss-covered soil and two freshwater samples, were examined to determine ciliate diversity in Korea. Based on the morphology of living and stained specimens, thirteen ciliate species, previously unrecorded in Korea, were identified. These specimens were classified to four classes, seven orders, ten families, and twelve genera. Of these genera, the following six were first records in Korea: Bresslauides, Dexiotricha, Glaucoma, Paragastrostyla, Sathrophilus, and Trithigmostoma. Here, we provide a brief description of the morphology of these 13 taxa along with microphotographs and notes.
