Spoke type 모터의 코깅토크 저감을 위한 노치설계 (Design Notch to reduce Cogging Torque of Spoke type Motor)

  • By reason of variation magnetic field, cogging torque is generated. Cogging torque of Spoke type motor is bigger than other type permanent magnet motor. So, this paper presents a design notch on stator and variation rotor shape to reduce cogging torque of Spoke Type motor. Through Fourier formulation of magnetic field on air gap, we found position of notch. The validity of the proposed design is confirmed with FEM analysis method.

손상된 지오멤브레인의 응력균열 저항성 해석 (Interpretation of Stress Crack Resistance of Damaged Geomembranes)

  • HDPE smooth and textured GMs were cut into dumbbell shape and notched where depth of the notch produced a ligament thickness of 90% to 10% of the nominal thickness of the specimen at 10% interval. Yield stress and elongation were measured of those samples and plotted on Graph. Yield stress and elongation at yield point decreases gradually as the notch depth is increased. Both installations damaged and notched GMs were used to understand stress crack behavior. Intact sample were notched in such a manner that the depth of notch produced a ligament thickness of 80% of the nominal thickness of the specimen. Installation damaged samples were not notched. Stress Crack Resistance behavior was observed using NCTL Test at $50{\pm}1^{\circ}C$ at different yield stresses immerging with pH 4 and pH 12 buffer solutions. Significant difference was observed in both cases.

  • This study delves into the interaction dynamics between lateral notches and inclusions, providing valuable insights for more effective engineering of structural components. By employing the finite element method, the research analyzes how inclusions affect the dimensions and contours of the plastic zone under confined plasticity conditions. Several parameters were investigated, including loading influence, the distance between the inclusion and notch tip, inclusion stiffness, and the distribution of Von Mises stress, as well as normal stresses σxx and σyy, and Comparison between different stresses. Examining stress distributions under varying loading conditions reveals a significant intensification, particularly near the crack tip. Moreover, the presence of an inclusion near the notch base reduces both the size and shape of the plastic zone. The distribution of the stresses for different loads knows an increase in intensity, especially near the crack head, which is the most requested by the tensile forces on its upper part, which can cause either the crack's initiation or opening, inducing significant stresses.

  • It is difficult to predict the accurate fatigue life of the ship structure because of load uncertainty and load redistribution at the ship structure members. As one of studies for accurate evaluation and prediction of fatigue life, it is a promising way to detect the crack previously by attaching the Fatigue Indicator Sensor (FIS) at the crack prediction region. In order to predict the fatigue life of the ship structure by using FIS, it is required to know previously the crack propagation characteristics according to pre-notch shapes. In this study, we obtained the stress distribution phase, stress concentration factors and stress intensity factor of various pre-notch shapes through FEA. Additionally, we conducted the fatigue test and obtained the characteristics of crack propagation according to the pre-notch shapes through comparison between the fatigue test and the FEA. Consequently, we classified the pre-notch shape into 3 categories: Long, Medium, and Short life type. On the basis of the numerical and experimental results, the FIS can be developed.

Anatomic Characteristics of Supraorbital Foramina in Korean Using Three-Dimensional Model

  • Background: The aims of this study were to analyze the anatomic variations of supraorbital foramina/notches in Koreans and to compare the results with those of previous studies examining other races. We evaluated the three-dimensional computed tomography (3D-CT) images of human faces using multidetector computed tomography (MDCT). Methods: A total of 395 adults (232 men and 163 women) were enrolled and the 3D-CT images of their faces were reviewed in this study. In this study, the data from the images included the presence, shape, width and distance from the nasion to the supraorbital foramina/notches. ANOVA was used to assess the main effects of gender and side (right or left foramen/notch), and comparisons of the means were done by paired t-test. Results: The most common shapes in Koreans were a single notch (39.5%) on the right hand side and a single foramen (42.3%) on the left hand side. The incidence of a single foramen in Koreans was high compared to other races. The mean foramen diameter was $2.34{\pm}0.78$ mm, and the mean distance from the nasion was $27.19{\pm}4.03$ mm. The mean notch diameter was $3.37{\pm}1.71$ mm, and the mean distance from the nasion was $23.42{\pm}2.45$ mm. Conclusions: This is the first study on the variations of supraorbital foramina/notches in Koreans using 3D-CT images of faces. The anatomic characteristics of the supraorbital foramina/notch will help in performing nerve blocks and maxillofacial surgery.

유한요소법을 이용한 노치가 형성된 수소저장용기 TYPE 1의 거동 특성 연구 (A Study on the Deformation Characteristics of the hydrogen storage vessel(TYPE 1) with Notches using FEM)

  • 본 논문에서는 가스압력을 고려할 때 수소가스 저장용기(Type 1)의 거동특성을 평가하기 위해 ISO 18119의 노치형상에 따라 수소가스 저장용기에서 발생한 VMS(von Mises stress)을 유한요소법으로 해석하였다. 해석결과에 따르면 길이방향 노치에서 발생한 최대 VMS가 원주방향 노치보다 높게 발생하였다. 또한, 저장용기의 거동시 발생한 응력을 VMS와 재료의 항복강도 비인 응력비로 분석하였다. 해석결과에 따르면 노치가 길이방향으로 형성된 저장용기의 경우 가스압력 50 MPa에서 저장용기 내부와 외부가 각각 0.85와 0.50로 증가하였으나 1보다 낮게 분석되었다.

A Consideration of Breast Imagery in Art as Depicted through Western Painting

  • The aim of this study is to consider breast imagery in art as depicted through western painting. Twenty western art paintings were collated. Most of the sample paintings were created from the mid-nineteenth century to the late twentieth century and some are from the Renaissance period. Ten anthropometric items were used to measure 15 distances between two landmarks and 3 angles between three points. The distance from the nipple to the sternal notch and to the midclavicular point was the same and they were 0.46 of the distance from the sternal notch to the umbilicus. The shape of the projection of the breast was almost an isosceles triangle and the altitude of the triangle was at a proportion of 0.45 of the bottom length and 0.16 of the distance from the sternal notch to the umbilicus. The distance between the lateral ends of the breasts was 2.14 times the facial width and the distance between nipples was 1.36 times the facial width. Proportions from works of art are more ideal and attractive than clinically measured proportions. The desirable ratios measured from historical paintings might be useful in planning breast surgeries.

노치를 이용한 보강재의 부착력 증가 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study to Improve Bonding Strength of Strengthening Plate with Notches)

  • 본 연구는 콘크리트 구조물의 보강공법으로 널리 쓰이고 있는 강판에 의한 부착식 보강공법의 단점인 단부에서의 강판분리 현상에 대한 보완실험으로 실시되었다. 실험결과 노치가 적용된 강판부착식 공법이 항복하중 이후 최대하중까지의 증가율이 기존의 공법보다 증가되어 구조물의 보강 성능의 개선 및 안전성의 확보 측면에서 크게 개선되었을 뿐만 아니라 균열이나 처짐의 조절측면에서도 우수한 것으로 판명되었다. 이는 강판에 대한 약간의 변형만으로도 구조물의 수명을 연장시킬 수 있다는 장점과 함께 경제적으로도 보강된 구조물에 대한 추가적인 제반 비용의 절감도 기대할 수 있을 것이다.

IPM motor의 회전자 구조설계에 따른 토크리플 및 진동 특성 연구 (The study on the torque ripple and vibration characteristic of IPM motor according to rotor design)

  • This paper presents the torque ripple and vibration characteristic of interior type permanent magnet (IPM) motor according to rotor design. In the design methods, the optimal notchs are put on the rotor pole face, which have an effect on variation of permanent magnet (PM) shape or residual flux density of PM. Through the space harmonics field analysis, the positions of notch are found and the optimal shapes of notch are decided by using Finite Element Method (FEM). The validity of the proposed method is confirmed with experiments. Therefore, the vibration, starting current and efficiency of IPM is measured by experiment.
