PURPOSES: This study is to analyze different vehicle load effects for a bridge design of South and North Korea in order to prepare a common design specification and to secure the safety of transportation when the highway bridges of South and North Korea use together. METHODS: Based on the literature review, this study considers vehicle load effects by comparing different characteristics of the standard vehicle and other differences of the bridge design specification between South and North Korea. And structural modeling of three-span continuous PSC Beam Bridge are analyzed and the bridge capacity according different vehicle loads of South and North Korea is evaluated. RESULTS: The result of this study indicates that the bridge capacity and the design vehicle weight of North Korea are smaller than the bridge capacity and the design vehicle weight of South Korea. Also this study demonstrates that the design vehicle array and other characteristics of North Korea are very different than the design vehicle array and other characteristics of South Korea. CONCLUSIONS: It is expected that the outcomes of this study can be useful in the set-up of South-North Bridge Specification because similar previous studies are rarely found.

남북한이 상이한 사회적 규범체계 하에 분단국가로 장기화될수록, 건설기술에 대한 이론적 기술적 차이가 많이 발생하게 된다. 따라서 남북한이 화해의 국면에서 상호 교류시, 공동으로 사용하는 철근콘크리트 도로교의 성능수준도 명확히 차이가 발생한다. 이에 본 연구는 북한의 철근콘크리트 도로교 설계기준과 관련된 자료를 면밀히 비교 분석하고, 철근콘크리트 슬래브교에 대한 표준설계 제원과 사례를 토대로 구조해석을 수행했다. 특히 남북한의 설계트럭하중에 대하여 활하중 영향을 분석함으로써, 북한의 철근콘크리트 슬래브교에 대한 수준을 추정하였고, 이를통해 통행에 대한 안전성을 사전에 검토할 수 있도록 기초 연구를 수행하였다. 따라서 향후 남북한이 화해국면에 접어들어 교류가 활발히 진행되거나, 더 나아가 통일국가로 준비하는 단계에서, 공통의 철근콘크리트 도로교 설계기준을 작성하는데 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대한다.

The design, procurement and fabrication of FPSO project ordered by Inpex Browse, Ltd. have been currently carried out by DSME(Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine and Engineering Co.). The unit will be installed and operated in the Ichthys field offshore of North-Western Australia and there are the particular design requirements to do with performance on the environment loads corresponding to max. 10,000 years return period wave. Also, the operational life of FPSO has to be over 40 years. With this background, this paper introduces the structural design procedure of crane pedestal foundation operated in north-western Australia offshore. The design of crane pedestal foundation structure is basically based on international design code (i.e. API Spec. 2C), Classification society's rule and project specifications. The design load cases are mainly divided into the crane normal operating conditions and crane stowed conditions according to environment conditions of the offshore with 1-year, 5-year, 10-year, 200-year and 10,000-year return period wave. This design experience for crane pedestal foundation operated in north-western Australia offshore will be useful to do engineering of other offshore crane structures.

북한 애니메이션에 대한 연구는 아직 빈약하며, 특히 기법이나 스타일에 대한 연구는 이뤄지지 않았다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 북한 인형영화의 캐릭터 디자인에 주목하되 북한 인형영화가 양적인 면과 조형의 질적인 면이 눈에 띄게 향상된 1985년경을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 남한과는 달리 북한에서는 애니메이션 제작 초창기부터 인형 영화에 대해 국가적으로 꾸준한 지원이 있었고, 인형영화의 전통이 강한 유럽의 사회주의 국가들과 활발한 교류를 했기 때문에 북한의 인형 영화는 지속적으로 발전할 수 있었으며 1985년부터는 매 해 꾸준히 제작되었다. 1985년에 제작된 캐릭터 디자인에는 구조적인 특징과 표현상의 특징을 확인할 수 있는데, 구조적으로는 철제골격을 사용하여 실험적인 형태와 정확한 관절의 움직임이 가능했고, 표현적으로는 조선화기법을 캐릭터 디자인에 적용하여 북한 인형영화 캐릭터 디자인에 간결함과 명확함, 섬세함이라는 나름의 미학을 정립했다.

지난 60년이 넘는 시간동안 대한민국은 남과 북이 대치한 휴전상태로 각자 다른 기준을 가진 채 기반시설을 발전시켜 왔다. 특히 북한에서는 운송의 주요수단으로 철도를 사용하기 때문에 도로는 잘 발달하지 않았고 그 중에서 도로교량은 세계 기준보다 많이 낮은 수준이다. 이 논문에서는 전시라는 특별한 상황에서 북한교량을 어느 수준으로 판단하고 이용할 수 있느냐에 초점을 두고 북한의 3가지 콘크리트 교량의 표준 도면을 분석하여 군용하중급수 분류법에 따른 군용차량의 북한 콘크리트 교량의 이용 가능수준을 추정하였다. 그리고 상용프로그램을 활용한 유한요소해석을 병행하여 계산 값과 비교하였다.

Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the North Korea's net export to China and Liaoning on the North Korean economic growth. Design/methodology/approach - This study collects the data on the net export of North Korea to China and Liaoing from General Administration of Customs, People's Republic of China. Vector Autoregression(VAR) is also employed for the analysis. Findings - First, North Korea's net export to all of China and Liaoning gives the positive effect on North Korean economic growth. Second, the nuclear test of North Korea gives the negative effect on the North Korean economic growth. Third, the net export to China and Liaoning granger causes the North Korean economic growth. Lastly, the nuclear test of North Korea also granger causes the North Korean economic growth. Research implications or Originality - The estimation results show the net export of North Korea to China as well as Liaoning is important to the economic growth. Therefore, we need to examine North Korea's trades with specific region as well as all of China in order to enhance the North Korean economic growth.

The safety, serviceability, and design code of the infrastructures such as highway, railroad, bridges, etc. have been analyzed. It is identified that the safety and function of infrastructures in North Korea could have some problems compared with current design codes. After analyzing the results, the multi-step road map for integrating infrastructures in Korea Peninsula is proposed.
