Photocatalytic reduction of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) in ferric-tartrate system under irradiation of visible light was investigated. Effects of light resources, initial pH value and initial concentration of various reactants on Cr(VI) photocatalytic reduction were studied. Photoreaction kinetics was discussed and a possible photochemical pathway was proposed. The results indicate that Fe(III)-tartrate system is able to rapidly and effectively photocatalytically reduce Cr(VI) utilizing visible light. Initial pH variations resulte in the concentration changes of Fe(III)-tartrate complex in this system, and pH at 3.0 is optimal for Cr(VI) photocatalytic reduction. Efficiency of Cr(VI) photocatalytic reduction increases with increasing initial concentrations of Cr(VI), Fe(III) and tartrate. Kinetics analysis indicates that initial Fe(III) concentration affects Cr(VI) photoreduction most significantly.
Colloid silica using as abrasive for polishing sapphire has been extensively studied, which mechanism has also been deeply discussed. However, by the requirement of application enlargement and cost reduction, some new problems appear such as silica service life time, particle diameter mixing, etc. In this paper, several influences of colloid silica usage on sapphire CMP are examined. Results show particle diameter and concentration, pH value, service life time, particle diameter mixing heavily influence removal rate. Further analysis discloses there are two main effect aspects which are quantity of hydroxyl group, contact area for abrasive density stacking between abrasive and sapphire. Based on the discussions, a dynamic process of sapphire polishing is proposed.
Exposure to the outside, the concrete is differential moisture distribution depending on the depth. Such a differential moisture distribution causes the differential drying shrinkage in concrete structures. This thesis is researched to compare the shrinkage of lightweight concrete depending on depth to normal concrete. It is used artificial lightweight aggregate which has 20% of pre-absorb value by lightweight concrete. When water-binder ratio is 30%, average shrinkage of lightweight concrete section decreased than normal concrete, but differential shrinkage of lightweight concrete section increased. However water-binder ratio is 40% and 50% average shrinkage and differential shrinkage of lightweight concrete section decreased than normal concrete.
In this study, to evaluate the shock and vibration load characteristics of used fuel, a sea transportation test was conducted using simulated fuel assemblies under normal transport conditions. An overall test data analysis was performed based on the measured strain and acceleration data obtained from cruise, rotation, acceleration, braking, depth of water, and rolling tests. In addition, shock response spectrum and power spectral densities were obtained for each test case. Amplification and attenuation characteristics were investigated based on the load path. The load was amplified as it passed from the overpack to the simulated used fuel-assembly. As a result of the RMS trend analysis, the fuel-loading position of the transportation package affected the measured strain in the fuel rod, and the maximum strains were obtained at the spans with large spacing. However, even these maximum strains were very small compared to the fatigue strength and the cladding yield strength. Moreover, the fuel rods located on the side exhibited a larger strain value than those at the center.
The author measured the maximum interincisal distance by means of the sliding caliper. The subjects measured here were 149 healthy Korean males and 229 females, ranging from 15 to 49 years old, with normal occlusion. The results were as follows; 1. The mean value of maximum interincisal distance was $50.03{\pm}0.22mm$. in male and $45.18{\pm}0.14mm$. in female. 2. There was a significant difference in the mean value between male female. 3. The interincisal distances in maximum opening were slightly larger in male than female. 4. There was no significant difference in the mean value between the age groups in Korean adults. But it has been revealed that there was apparent difference in the mean value between 15~19 years and 20~29 years old, in female. 5. It has been appeared that maximum interincisal distance in male was 69mm, minimum 37mm., and maximum interincisal distance in female was 58mm. minimum. 30mm.
To see the change of pulmonary arterial pressure after mitral valve replacement, postoperative cardiac catheterization and echocardiographies were performed in 12 patients of mitral valvular disease with pulmonary hypertension[systolic pulmonary arterial pressure>50 mm Hg]. The mean follow-up duration was 35.4[range: 15-47] months per patient. The following results were obtained. 1] Preoperative systolic pulmonary arterial pressure value of 66.17\ulcorner10.73mmHg decreased significantly to 29.17\ulcorner6.86mmHg postoperatively[p<0.01]. 2] Preoperative Pp/Ps value of 0.67\ulcorner0.13 decreased significantly to 0.28\ulcorner0.06 postoperatively[p<0.01]. 3] Preoperative PAWP value of 29.00\ulcorner4.02mmHg decreased significantly to 9.92\ulcorner4.27 mmHg postoperatively[p<0.01]. 4] Preoperative LAD value of 5.58\ulcorner1.20cm decreased significantly to 4.37\ulcorner0.67cm postoperatively [p<0.01]. In conclusion, pulmonary arterial hypertension secondary to mitral valvular disease could be reduced to normal range after successful mitral valve replacement.
For any integer k $\geq$ 2, let P(c, k + 1;q) be the number of all k+1-tuples with positive integer coordinates ($a_1,a_2,...,a_{k+1}$) such that $1{\leq}a_i{\leq}q$, ($a_i,q$) = 1, $a_1a_2...a_{k+1}{\equiv}$ c (mod q) and 2 $\nmid$ ($a_1+a_2+...+a_{k+1}$), and E(c, k+1; q) = P(c, k+1;q) - $\frac{{\phi}^k(q)}{2}$. The main purpose of this paper is using the properties of Gauss sums, primitive characters and the mean value theorems of Dirichlet L-functions to study the hybrid mean value of the r-th hyper-Kloosterman sums Kl(h,k+1,r;q) and E(c,k+1;q), and give an interesting mean value formula.

Until now, the quantity to recycle wasted concrete as the great supplementary value was very little. But considering a insufficiency of the present state of aggregates, the recycling of wasted aggregates is indispensable. This study will offer the basic application data of the recycled aggregates to make by the new attempt and offer the basic data of the great supplementary value of recycled aggregate to make good use of precast process. The result of compressive strength, tensile strength, flexural strength and drying shrinkage test of concrete by recycled aggregates were similar to the property of normal aggregate concrete, and the contrary effect of recycled aggregate by high temperature steam curing do not have been found out. Therefore the great supplementary value of recycled aggregate to make good use of precast process is possible way to be helpful to a insufficiency of the present state of aggregates.
This paper deals with the existence of triple positive solutions for the nonlinear second-order three-point boundary value problem z"(t)+a(t)f(t, z(t), z'(t))=0, t $\in$ (0, 1), $z(0)={\nu}z(1)\;{\geq}\;0$, $z'(\eta)=0$, where 0 < $\nu$ < 1, 0 < $\eta$ < 1 are constants. f : [0, 1] $\times$ [0, $+{\infty}$) $\times$ R $\rightarrow$ [0, $+{\infty}$) and a : (0, 1) $\rightarrow$ [0, $+{\infty}$) are continuous. First, Green's function for the associated linear boundary value problem is constructed, and then, by means of a fixed point theorem due to Avery and Peterson, sufficient conditions are obtained that guarantee the existence of triple positive solutions to the boundary value problem. The interesting point is that the nonlinear term f is involved with the first-order derivative explicitly.
Footpad swelling having the relationship with arthus-reaction of antibody-mediated hypersensitivity and delayed type hypersensitivity was recovered to the almost normal level. The nethemoglobin induced by aniline showed no significant deviation. PFC/spleen cell and PFC/106 spleen cell were increased slightly, but not in case of RFC. Hemagglutination value was increased slightly, but hemolytic value was not changed significantly. Mice in the administration of the polysaccharide does not show any significant stress factor in the cage for mice admlrustered plasma corticosterone. Key words: antibody-mediated hypersensitivity, delayed type hypersensitivity, methemoglobin, Hemagglutination value, hemolytic value, plasma corticosterone.
