A mathematical competition model between normal flora and an invading pathogen was devised to allow analysis of bacterial infections in a host. The normal flora includes the various microorganisms that live on or within the host and act as a primary human immune system. Despite the important role of the normal flora, no mathematical study has been undertaken on models of the interaction between it and invading pathogens against a background of antibiotic treatment. To quantify key elements of bacterial behavior in a host, pairs of nonlinear differential equations were used to describe three categories of human health conditions, namely, healthy, latent infection, and active infection. In addition, a cutoff value was proposed to represent the minimum population level required for survival. The recovery of normal flora after antibiotic treatment was also included in the simulation because of its relation to human health recovery. The significance of each simulation parameter for the bacterial growth model was investigated. The devised simulation showed that bacterial proliferation rate, carrying capacity, initial population levels, and competition intensity have a significant effect on bacterial behavior. Consequently, a model was established to describe competition between normal flora and an infiltrating pathogen. Unlike other population models, the recovery process described by the devised model can describe the human health recovery mechanism.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the difference about pathogenesis of normal group and depression group(who' pulmonary function is below expected value). Author used DSOM to investigate oriental pathogenesis. Depression group is consisted of people who's FVC%(forced vital capacity)is below 80% or $FEV_1$/FVC%(Forced Expiratory Volume in 1sec/FVC) is below 70%, and they don't have history of lung disease(Athma, tuberculosis, COPD, suchlike). Normal group is consisted of people who's FVC%(Forced Vital Capacity) is in 80-120% and $FEV_1$/FVC%(Forced Expiratory Volume in 1sec/FVC) is above 70%. they also don't have history of lung disease. Author carried out each group's PFT(pulmonary function test) by ATS(American Thoracic Society) method. DSOM was used for oriental pathogenesis investigation of two groups. There was significant difference between normal group and depression group in Kidney(p<0.05). In depression group comparison of sex, there was significant difference between male and female in stagnation of qi, cold, heat, spleen, phlegm(p<0.05). In Normal group there was significant difference between male and female in stagnation of qi, blood stasis, cold, heat, spleen(p<0.05). In depression group comparison of smoke, there was no significant difference between smoker and non-smoker(p<0.05). In Normal group comparison of smoke, there was significant difference between smoker and non-smoker in heat(p<0.05). This result showed difference of the pathogenesis between Depression group and Normal group.
Purpose: This study aimed to analyze G3BP1 and VEZT expression profiles in patients with gastric cancer, and examine the possible relationship between the expressions of each gene and clinicopathological factors. Materials and Methods: Expression of these genes in formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissues, collected from 40 patients with gastric cancer and 40 healthy controls, was analyzed. Differences in gene expression among patient and normal samples were identified using the GraphPad Prism 5 software. For the analysis of real-time polymerase chain reaction products, GelQuantNET software was used. Results: Our findings demonstrated that both VEZT and G3BP1 mRNA expression levels were downregulated in gastric cancer samples compared with those in the normal controls. No significant relationship was found between the expression of these genes and gender (P-value, 0.4835 vs. 0.6350), but there were significant changes associated with age (P-value, 0.0004 vs. 0.0001) and stage of disease (P-value, 0.0019 vs. 0.0001). In addition, there was a direct relationship between VEZT gene expression and metastasis (P-value, 0.0462), in contrast to G3BP1 that did not demonstrate any significant correlation (P-value, 0.1833). Conclusions: The results suggest that expression profiling of VEZT and G3BP1 can be used for diagnosis of gastric cancer, and specifically, VEZT gene could be considered as a biomarker for the detection of gastric cancer progression.
$^{86}Rb$ uptake of some organs and tissues, ego both lungs, both renal cortices. small intestine, liver and skeletal muscle were studied in the control and the rabbit subjected to pneumothorax. $^{86}Rb$ in the form of chloride mixed with physiological saline was intravenously. injected. The doses were $100{\mu}c$ for a rabbit. The rabbits were sacrificed at intervals of 10, 20, 40, and 60 seconds after the injection of $^{86}Rb$, by the injection of saturated KCI solution. After sacrification, the organ and tissue sample were quickly removed. $^{86}Rb$ uptake in gm of the organs and tissues were measured. On the basis of uptake value, administered doses and body weight, % dose/gm tissues per 200 gm body weight was calculated. Followings were the results; 1. Pneumothorax resulted in a marked elevation in $^{86}Rb$ uptake value of collapsed lung and returned to normal level lately. 2. Contralateral lung of pnemothorax also showed marked elevation in $^{86}Rb$ uptake value and recovered to normal level. 3. Initial $^{86}Rb$ uptake value of liver, small intestine of the rabbit with pneumothorax showed some elevation as compared to control, but that of late stage were similar with control. 4. Local blood flow determination by means of $^{86}Rb$ uptake were inadequate in the collapsed lung of pneumothorax. 5. It was suggested that the mechanism for the initial elevation of $^{86}Rb$ uptake value in each organs and tissue were different from each other.
For the odor test, it was chosen the conventional spreader, the hose spreader, and its combination with disk harrow and spring harrow as a slurry spreader. By the odor tester (Kalmor-$\sum$) with dairy slurry, the conventional spreader has the average $\sum$ value of 270, which means that one fells substantial odor and torment. In the cases of hose spreader and its combination with disk harrow, $\sum$ value was 217 and 182 respectively, which means a normal person does not smell any odor. Spreading the swine slurry with a conventional spreader shows $\sum$ value of 440, which means one feels unpleasant. The hose spreader shows $\sum$ value of 258, which lies in the limit one feels some odor and torment. Its combination with disk harrow has $\sum$ value 184, which means that a normal person can not smell any more. For the conventional spreader, the odor intensity indices from air dilution sensual test and 3 point odor bag as a sensual test were 66.9 and 35.4 respectively. On the other hand, the indices were 9.65 and 11.10 by hose spreader and its combination with disk harrow, which were lower than that of the regulation for industry. Therefore, the developed hose spreader showed an excellent effect on decreasing odor. The correlation between the results from odor tester and 3 point odor bag has shown 0.997 by swine slurry.
We study some extremal problems on the Cartan-Hartogs domains. Through computing the minimal circumscribed Hermitian ellipsoid of the Cartan-Hartogs domains, we get the $Carath\acute{e}odory$ extremal mappings between the Cartan-Hartogs domains and the unit hyperball, and the explicit formulas for computing the $Carath\acute{e}odory$ extremal value.

In order to check the validity of nonlinear normal modes of continuous, systems by means of the energy-based formulation, we consider a beam with a nonlinear boundary condition. The initial and boundary e c6nsl of a linear partial differential equation and a nonlinear boundary condition is reduced to a linear boundary value problem consisting of an 8th order ordinary differential equations and linear boundary conditions. After obtaining the asymptotic solution corresponding to each normal mode, we compare this with numerical results by the finite element method.
In pH 4.2 HAc-NaAc buffer solution, horseradish peroxidase (HRP) catalyzed $H_2O_2$ oxidation of nanosilver to form $Ag^+$. After centrifugation, $Ag^+$ in the supernatant can be measured by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry (GFAAS) at the silver absorption wavelength of 328.1 nm. When HRP concentration increased, the $Ag^+$ concentration in the supernatant increased, and the absorption value enhanced. The HRP concentration in the range of 0.84-50 $ng{\cdot}mL^{-1}$ was linear to the enhanced absorption value (${\Delta}A$), with a regression equation of ${\Delta}A$=0.012C+0.11, correlation coefficient of 0.9988, and detection limit of 0.41 $ng{\cdot}mL^{-1}$ HRP. The proposed GFAAS method was used to detect HRP in waste water samples, with satisfactory results.
The purpose of this study was to provide the basic information to be helpful in establishing more rational prices discount strategy in prices discount advertising. The experiment design for study was a $3{\times}2{\times}3$ between subject factorial design in which the factors were discount presentation types(discount price presentation/discount rate presentation/discount price and discount rate presentation), existence of normal price presentation(presentation/ non-presentation) and semantic cues(regular sales/markdown on the previous season's product/storehouse opening sales). Thirty subjects were randomized in one of 18 experimental conditions. The subjects of this study were 540 female university students in Kwangju, Korea. The results were as follows; 1. Significant interaction effects between discount presentation types and the semantic cues were found in perceived transaction value(p<.01), perceived acquisition value(p<.05), and purchase intention(p<.05)- It means that discount presentation types in prices discount advertising need to present differently according to price discount types. 2. Significant interaction effects between existence of normal price and the semantic cues were not found. It means that normal price need to present in prices discount advertising regardless of price discount types.
This paper proposed the structure that applied superconductors to the neutral line of a transformer and applied the normal conductors to the third line. The superconductor applied to the neutral line of a transformer limited the peak value of initial fault current, while the normal conductor finally limited the fault current. In order to secure the operating reliability of transformer type Superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) of previously proposed structure, we analyzed the operating characteristics according to the fault types. We tested a line-to-ground fault and a line-to-line fault. As a result of the experiment, all the faults showed that the superconductor stably limited the peak-value of initial fault current. Also, the normal conductor finally limited the fault current. Based on this research results, We thought that if the structure of inserting superconductor into the neutral line is applied to the real system, it could improve the reliability and stability of the power system.
