펨토초 펄스와 광결정 광섬유를 이용한 초 연속스펙트럼의 발생 (Supercontinuum Generation with Femtosecond Pulses and Photonic Crystal Fibers)

  • 광결정 광섬유에서 생성되는 초 연속스펙트럼의 특성을 일반화된 비선형 슈뢰딩거 방정식과 split step 퓨리에 방법을 이용하여 전산모사 하였다. 그 결과를 바탕으로 200 fs 펄스폭을 갖는 Ti:sapphire 레이저와 광결정 광섬유를 이용하여 650nm부터 900nm에 이르는 파장영역에서 ${\pm}4dB$ 이하의 평탄도를 가지는 초 연속스펙트럼을 실험적으로 생성하였다.

비선형광학 단결정 KTP의 상전이 및 완화특성에 관한 연구 (Phase Transition and Relaxation Properties of Nonlinear-Optical KTP Single Crystal)

  • 비선형광학 단결정 KTP에 대해 고온 분말 X-선 회절실험과 복소 유전상수 측정실험 등을 수행하였다. 고온분말 X-선 회절 실험 결과를 Lipson과 Cohen의 해석적 방법을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과 $900^{\circ}C$ 이하의 온도에서는 어떠한 구조상전이도 없음을 확인하였다. 그리고 KTP는 $900^{\circ}C$ 이상에서 구조상전이가 있으며, 상전이 온도 이상의 온도영역에서도 직방정계(orthorhombic)에 속함을 확인하였다. 한편, 복소 유전상수 측정결과를 현상론적인 유전완화식에 적용하였으며, 이로부터 $K^+$ 이온의 hopping에 의한 KTP의 유전완화 mechanism은 $-78^{\circ}C$부터 $200^{\circ}C$까지 단일모드로 Cole-Cole relation을 만족함을 알았다. 이때 완화시간은 Vogel-Fulcher relation을 따르고 있으며, $200^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도영역에서는 hopping mechanism과 더불어 열적으로 활성화된 확산 mechanism이 KTP의 전도특성을 지배하는 것으로 보인다.

Prediction model of resistivity and compressive strength of waste LCD glass concrete

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a prediction model for the electrical resistivity ($E_r$) of self-consolidating concrete by using waste LCD (liquid crystal display) glass as part of the fine aggregate and then, to analyze the results obtained from a series of laboratory tests. A hyperbolic function is used to perform nonlinear multivariate regression analysis of the electrical resistivity prediction model, with parameters such as water-binder ratio (w/b), curing age (t) and waste glass content (G). Furthermore, the relationship of compressive strength and electrical resistivity of waste LCD glass concrete is also found by a logarithm function, while compressive strength is evaluated by the electrical resistivity of non-destructive testing (NDT). According to relative regression analysis, the electrical resistivity and compressive strength prediction models are developed, and the results show that a good agreement is obtained using the proposed prediction models. From the comparison between the predicted analysis values and test results, the MAPE value of electrical resistivity is 17.0-18.2% and less than 20%, the MAPE value of compressive strength evaluated by $E_r$ is 5.9-10.6% and nearly less than 10%. Therefore, the prediction models established in this study have good predictive ability for electrical resistivity and compressive strength of waste LCD glass concrete. However, further study is needed in regard to applying the proposed prediction models to other ranges of mixture parameters.

  • KLN(K3Li2Nb5O15) has attracted a great deal of attention for their potential usefulness in piezoelectric, electro-optic, nonlinear optic, and pyroelectirc devices. Especially, the KLN single crystal has been studied in the field of optics and electronics. However it is hard to produce good quality single crystals due to the crack propagation during crystal growing. One of the solutions of this problem is prepartion of thin film. But the intensive study has not been conducted so far. In this study, after the KLN thin film were prepared by R.F. magnetron Sputtering method on SiO2/Si substrate, the post-annealing methods of RTA(rapid thermal annealin) and IPA(insitu post annealing) were employed. The deposition condition of KLN thin film was RF power(100 W), Working pressure(100 mtorr). The commonness of both RAT and IPA was that the higher were deposition and post annealing temperature, the higher was the intensity of XRD but the less surface roughness. The difference of post-annealing methods affected XRD phase and surface condition very much. And in IPA process, the influence of O2 had much effect on the formation of KLN phase.

X선 회절을 이용한 자동차 압연강의 잔류응력 측정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Measurement of Residual Stress in Rolled Steel for Automobile using X-ray Diffraction)

  • In textured material, diffraction angle $2{\theta}$ usually shows a nonlinear relation against $sin^2{\psi}$ due to elastic anisotropy of crystals. SPHD and SPCD steel is cold-rolled carbon steel for automobile. The characteristics X-ray for stress measurement is Cr $K_{\alpha}\;and\;Mo\;K_{\alpha}$ characteristic X-ray. The $2{\theta}-sin^2{\psi}$ diagram under elastic strain seems to have a linear behavior using regression line of data but has a nonlinear behavior in distribution of data by Cr $K_{\alpha}$ characteristic X-ray. As the plastic strain of specimen increases, the nonlinearity of $2{\theta}$ with respect to $sin^2{\psi}$ increases remarkably. On the other hand, the diffraction angle $2{\theta}$ by Mo $K_{\alpha}$ characteristic X-ray shows a good linearity on $2{\theta}-sin^2{\psi}$ diagram under plastic strain as well as elastic strain. Therefore, this paper presents the measurement of residual stress in cold-rolled carbon steel for automobile using penetration depth of Mo $K_{\alpha1}$ characteristic X-ray and multiplicity factor of crystal diffraction plane.

알루미나가 분산된 세리아 안정화 지르코니아 세라믹스의 미세구조 (Microstructure of alumina-dispersed Ce-TZP ceramics)

  • 불규칙 입자형성을 갖는 Ce-TZP와 알루미나가 분산된 Ce-TZP 세라믹스를 세라아 도핑조선과 열처리 조건을 변화시켜 제조한 다음, 미세구조를 관찰하였다. 제조된 시편들은 상대밀도가 99% 이상인 고밀도의 소결체였으며, 정방정 및 입방정상 지르코니아 입자로 구성되었다. 도핑하지 않거나 소결만 시킨 시편의 경우 직선적인 입계와 정상적인 입자형성을 나타낸데 비하여 세리아를 침적법으로 도핑한 후 고온으로 열처리한 시편에서는 확산구동 입계이동이 일어나 입계 및 입자형성이 불규칙하였으며. 이러한 Ce-TZP에서는 입자당 평균 입계같이 정상입자에 비하여 크게 증가하였다. 알루미나를 분산시켜 소결한 {{{{ { Al}_{2 }{ O}_{3 } }}}}/Ce- TZP 시편의 경우, 알루미나 입자에 의해서 입성장이 크게 억제되었고, 세리아를 도핑한 후 소결과 열처리를 행한 {{{{ { Al}_{2 }{ O}_{3 } }}}}/Ce-TZP에서는 불규칙 입자형상이 형성되면서도 입성장이 억제되어 입자크기에 비하여 입계면적이 크게 증가하였다. 분산된 알루미나 입자들은 소결과 열처리 과정 중 입자크기가 증가하였고, 열처리 동안 많은 입자들이 입계에서 입내로 위치가 변화하였다. 정상적인 입자형성을 갖은 시편에서는 균열진전시 입계파괴가 주로 일어났으나 불규칙 입자형성을 갖는 시편에서는 주로 입내파괴가 관찰되었다.

광자결정 광섬유와 단일모드 광섬유 저손실 융착접속 (Low Loss Fusion Splicing of Photonic Crystal Fiber and Single-Mode Fiber)

  • 단일모드 광섬유(SMF)와 포토닉 밴드갭 광섬유(PBGF), SMF와 고비선형 광자결정 광섬유(NL-PCF)의 저손실 융착접속을 위한 방법을 제안하였다. SMF와 PBGF를 융착접속할 경우 PBGF의 공기구멍 붕괴현상에 의한 손실이 가장 큰 영향을 미치므로 PBGF의 공기구멍을 유지시키기 위해서 광섬유 융착접속기를 최적화하여 접속손실을 1.22 dB이하로 줄였다. SMF와 NL-PCF의 융착접속시에는 Ultra High Numerical Aperture(UHNA)광섬유를 두 광섬유 사이에 삽입하여 융착접속하는 방법을 적용하여 평균 2.59 dB이하로 접속손실을 줄였다.

Parametric Instability Boundaries for Spatial Subharmonics in Photorefractive Moving Gratings: Theory and Experiments

  • We have derived a nonlinear spatiotemporal differential equation for space-charge fields from Kukhtarev’s material equations in a moving coordinate system and obtained the spatial subharmonic instability boundaries by using linear stability analysis. It is also found that there is an analogy between the temporal subharmonic and the spatial subharmonc instabilities in the sense that the governing differential equations describing the instability boundaries are formally identical. The experiments for generating spatial subharmonic waves are performed in a photorefractive $Bi_{12}SiO_{20}$ crystal by using conventional moving grating technique. The threshold detunings are experimentally determined and the results are compared with the theory.

  • Some interaction characteristics, i.e., light scattering characteristics, of infrared (IR) radiation with small ice crystals are investigated systematically by using the exact T-matrix approach. Some important facts are obtained, which reveal, especially, that the combination of both the 25 and 3.979$\mu$m together has some advantages and potential applications for remote sensing of cirrus and other ice clouds. A new far-IR channel at the wavelength of 25$\mu$m is proposed.

Precise Edge Detection Method Using Sigmoid Function in Blurry and Noisy Image for TFT-LCD 2D Critical Dimension Measurement

  • This paper presents a precise edge detection algorithm for the critical dimension (CD) measurement of a Thin-Film Transistor Liquid-Crystal Display (TFT-LCD) pattern. The sigmoid surface function is proposed to model the blurred step edge. This model can simultaneously find the position and geometry of the edge precisely. The nonlinear least squares fitting method (Levenberg-Marquardt method) is used to model the image intensity distribution into the proposed sigmoid blurred edge model. The suggested algorithm is verified by comparing the CD measurement repeatability from high-magnified blurry and noisy TFT-LCD images with those from the previous Laplacian of Gaussian (LoG) based sub-pixel edge detection algorithm and error function fitting method. The proposed fitting-based edge detection algorithm produces more precise results than the previous method. The suggested algorithm can be applied to in-line precision CD measurement for high-resolution display devices.
