비제조업종의 근골격계질환 예방관리 매뉴얼 개발 (Development of Preventive Management Manual for Non-Manufacturing Industries)

  • A Study was conducted to investigate the type and level of occupational risk factors for the onset of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) in non-manufacturing industries. Total of 38 worksites were investigated from 5 different business areas such as financial institution, transportation service, building maintenance, sanitary service and educational service. Major job and task category were classified and corresponding occupational risk factors such as awkward posture, force exertion, repetitiveness of job, and work/rest cycle were examined using various ergonomic risk analysis techniques. Sets of matrices were developed including types and levels of risk factors for the classified jobs and tasks from 5 different non-manufacturing industries. Also possible ergonomic remedies were suggested for the improvement working conditions. Results and risk factor matrices can be applied as a guideline for the investigation of WMSDs risk factors in similar industries for the prevention of WMSDs.

중소기업 경쟁력 향상을 위한 기술혁신 및 원가관리가 생산성에 미치는 영향 : 선박엔진 부품제조업체를 중심으로 (The Influences of Technological Innovation and Cost Management for Elevation of Small Enterprise Competitiveness on Productivity : Focused on Marine Engine Suppliers)

  • The purpose of this study is to figure out the impacts of technological innovation and cost management on productivity in small shipping industries to come up with developmental implications. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 150 workers in small shipbuilding industries through April 2 to April 20, 2012. As for findings stated above, technological innovation and cost management in the Korean small shipbuilding industries were key factors that elevate financial and non-financial productivity. In the light of low technological prowess and cost structure of small shipbuilding industries, their productivity can be improved when intensive cost management with production factor technology as know-how is realized through quality management, which product development technology is the top priority as an independent niche strategy. Consequently, the combination of infrastructures in small shipbuilding industries with continuous efforts for cost reduction by the link to the systematized structure can't only secure their independent competitiveness, but raise their productivity.

패밀리레스토랑 조리사의 조직공정성인지가 직무만족 및 경영성과에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of a Cook's Understanding of Organizational Fairness on Job Satisfaction and Business Performance at Family Restaurants)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of a cook's understanding about organizational fairness on job satisfaction and business performance at family restaurants in Seoul. Frequency analysis, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and SEM were applied to analyze the data. First, a confirmatory reliability analysis indicated that organizational fairness, job satisfaction, and business performance were sufficient to be used in this investigation. Organizational fairness, job satisfaction and business performance had generally significant relationships by implementing SEM. According to the results, distributive fairness (p< 0.001), procedural fairness (p< 0.05) and interactive fairness (p< 0.05) had positive influence on cook's job satisfaction. Job satisfaction had a positive influence on financial (p< 0.05) and non-financial performance (p< 0.001). Therefore, for the purposes of food-service companies' continuous increases in business performance and competition are generally necessary to suitably manage the fairness of various policies such as job stability, promotions, impartial distribution of salary, bonus and welfare work, and internal marketing.

창업기업의 창업자 특성, 경영특성 및 경쟁력간의 구조적 관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structural Relationship in the Characters of Founders, Management and Competitiveness of Startup Companies)

  • The objective of the present paper is to analyze the problems found in the operation of startup companies and to seek after their solutions. It is thus aimed at offering reasonable grounds for the government to work out long- and short-term strategies in an attempt to help and vitalize startup companies. In this context, following analysis was conducted to meet the objective of this study: First, it was analyzed here to determine if there was any difference in the application of management characters that were deemed to be important factors exercising drastic influence on competitiveness of startup companies directly as well as indirectly; and Second, it was empirically proved how management characters of startup companies affected their competitiveness. From the analysis, it was discovered as follows: First, characters of founders such as age, education and experience in management were found to differ depending on the extent that factors of managerial characters in startup companies were practically applied; and Second, the four factors of managerial characters that were classified by factor analysis turned out to have influence on variables of financial and non-financial competitiveness that were connected with competitiveness of a company.

The Influence of Intellectual Capital Elements on Company Performance

  • Intellectual capital is becoming a crucial factor for a firm's long-term profit and performance in the knowledge-based economy as more firms identify their core competence as invisible assets rather than visible assets (Itami, 1987). The company was encouraged to measure financial and non-financial factors, including the customer perspective groups, the internal business process, learning and growth perspective, then to link all these measurements in a coherent system. This paper seeks to investigate the influence of intellectual capital elements on company performance, as well as the relationship among intellectual capital elements from a cause-effect perspective. Resource-Based View (RBV) considers intellectual capital as resource and capability to sustain competitive advantage on company performance. The partial least squares approach is used to examine listed banks in Indonesia Stock Exchange for year 2017-2019. Results show that human capital directly has positive influences on innovation capital, customer capital, and process capital. Innovation capital has positive, but less significant influence on process capital, which in turn influences customer capital. Human capital and process capital also influence customer capital. Finally, customer capital contributes to performance. This study helps management to identify relevant intellectual capital elements as competitive advantage and their indicators to enhance business performance.

Managerial Overconfidence and Firm Value

  • Purpose - Prior studies have found that the characteristics of managers, corporate governance structure, corporate social responsibility and so on affect firm value. This study explores whether managerial overconfidence affects firm value through empirical analysis. Design/methodology/approach - Korean-listed non-financial companies from 2011 - 2017 are collected as the research sample. Firm value is measured by Tobin's Q, and managerial overconfidence is measured using a composite index encompassing various financial data. OLS and fixed effect model are used to investigate the relationship between managerial overconfidence and firm value. Findings - Managerial overconfidence is positively associated with firm value. Additional analysis reveals the following: (1) In the three subsamples of large, backbone, and small- and medium-sized enterprises, managerial overconfidence is beneficial to firm values. (2) Managerial overconfidence increases firm value on the t+1 year. Research implications or Originality - We use a comprehensive index with higher trust and feasibility to measure manager overconfidence and empirically confirm that managerial overconfidence can become a factor to improve firm value. Thus, it is necessary for shareholders to adopt an objective and neutral attitude and reasonably understand the psychological characteristics of managers when selecting CEOs. In addition, it is necessary to continue to optimize the measurement method of managerial overconfidence.

Efficient and Secure Sound-Based Hybrid Authentication Factor with High Usability

  • Internet is the most prevailing word being used nowadays. Over the years, people are becoming more dependent on the internet as it makes their job easier. This became a part of everyone's life as a means of communication in almost every area like financial transactions, education, and personal-health operations. A lot of data is being converted to digital and made online. Many researchers have proposed different authentication factors - biometric and/or non-biometric authentication factors - as the first line of defense to secure online data. Among all those factors, passwords and passphrases are being used by many users around the world. However, the usability of these factors is low. Also, the passwords are easily susceptible to brute force and dictionary attacks. This paper proposes the generation of a novel passcode from the hybrid authentication factor - sound. The proposed passcode is evaluated for its strength to resist brute-force and dictionary attacks using the Shannon entropy and Passcode (or password) entropy formulae. Also, the passcode is evaluated for its usability. The entropy value of the proposed is 658.2. This is higher than that of other authentication factors. Like, for a 6-digit pin - the entropy value was 13.2, 101.4 for Password with Passphrase combined with Keystroke dynamics and 193 for fingerprint, and 30 for voice biometrics. The proposed novel passcode is far much better than other authentication factors when compared with their corresponding strength and usability values.

중소기업의 해외시장진입방식 결정요인과 경영성과에 관한 연구 (The Study on Factor and Performance for SMEs' Global Market Entry Mode)

  • 본 연구는 중소기업의 글로벌 시장 진출 전략에 있어 통제정도에 영향을 미치는 결정 요인들을 선행 연구를 통해 추출하고, 해외 진출과 관련된 성과를 분석하였다. 연구를 위해 중소기업의 해외진출 전략요인을 크게 기업역량과 정보역량으로 구분하였다. 기업역량에는 기술사업화 역량, 기업내부 역량, 글로벌 역량을 그 대상으로 하였으며, 정보역량은 해외 수요시장 정보역량과 해외 선진기술 정보역량을 고려하였다. 분석을 위해 통제변수를 포함한 총 27개 변수를 활용하였으며, 성과변수로는 재무적 변수와 비재무적 변수를 활용하였다. 중소기업의 해외 시장 진출 시, 기업의 진입 전략과 관련하여 진입통제 모드에 어떠한 영향을 미치는 알아보고, 나아가 선택한 통제 모드가 성과에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 분석하기 위해 가설을 수립하였다. 가설 검증을 위해 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였으며 성과와 관련된 추가적 분석을 위해 다중회귀분석과 T-test를 수행하였다.

시큐리티기업의 시장지향성과 경영성과의 관계 연구 (The study of relationship of Security Service Company's Market Orientation and Business Performance)

  • 경찰인력의 부족과 사회양극화 현상으로 범죄율이 증가하는 가운데 시큐리티 기업에 대한 사회적 인식과 직업적 가치가 상승하면서 시장의 변화에 요구하는 경영기법이 요구되고 있는 것이 현실이다. 이러한 사실에 비추어볼 때, 그동안 시큐리티 산업의 시장 확대에 따른 시장지향적인 경영 마케팅이 경영성과에 어떻게 영향을 미치는 지, 그리고 그러한 노력의 결과가 어떻게 나타났는지에 대한 연구결과가 전무하여 이에 대한 실증적인 검증의 필요성이 있었다. 따라서 국내 시큐리티 기업의 조직체계를 갖춘 기업을 대상으로 15개 기업을 선정, 시큐리티 종사자들 중 일반직원과 시장지향성에 관련된 내용에 충분한 실무경험을 가진 것으로 판단되는 중간 관리자급을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구는 설문지 작성 및 조사와 통계처리, 가설검증의 양적방법을 활용하였고, 통계분석 도구로서 SPSSWIN 14.0 버전을 사용하여 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관분석, 다중회귀분석, 회귀분석을 이용하여 경로분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 시장지향성이 시간적 수직적 인과구조를 보이고 있다는 점이다. 시큐리티 기업의 시장지향성은 경영성과를 결정지을 수 있는 매우 중요한 결정적 구성요소라 할 수 있을 것이다. 이는 시큐리티 관련 산업의 발달이 가속화되면서 고객을 향한 서비스와 경쟁회사들간의 마케팅이 곧 잠재시장을 누가 먼저 선점하느냐에 따라 앞으로 시큐리티 기업들의 생존과 발전이 결정 된다 라고 하여도 과언이 아닐 것이다. 이러한 차원에서 지금이라도 시큐리티의 시장지향성에 많은 관심을 두고 고객에 대한 서비스와 경쟁사들과의 차별화 전략을 통해 경영 이익 창출에 많은 관심을 기울여야 할 것으로 생각된다.

사교육서비스 분야에서의 BSC 모델 개발 및 전략실행방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on BSC development and Strategy execution plan for Private education service field)

  • Purpose: This study aims to overcome the problem of private education market environment which is polarized into commercialized large private education institutions and small and medium sized private education institutions in a poor business environment, and develop systematic performance measurement model applicable for small and medium sized private education institutions. Methods: To develop the BSC which measures financial and non-financial indicator in a balanced manner and introduce the BSC into private education institutions that contain conflicting goals "EDUCATION" and "PROFIT". In particular, Utilizing the methodology of AHP, the priority of strategies and execution assignments are derived. Results: BSC model was developed and introduced by cooperating with executives of the private education institution. Moreover, the study permits to achieve the strategy, enterprise-wide vision and mission by deriving strategy map and applying it to the private education institution. To measure the performance of BSC model instruction, KPI corresponding to the strategic objectives of each perspective was derived. Conclusion: BSC model generally introduces to large-sized companies and public institutions. In this study, BSC model is developed by focusing on small and medium sized private institution. Furthermore, this study is more than simple model development, it makes a connection with achievement of strategic objectives, enterprise-wide vision and mission through strategy map and strategy execution method. Through the developed BSC model and strategy execution method, utilization plan in practice and customized model for private education institutions coexisting profit and non-profit objectives were developed, and academic implications were presented.
