  • When women are removed with their matrix which is a emotionally significant organ of symbol in psychologically adapting themselves to mother and woman, that is threatened and injured with woman role decisively. The nursing for women with hysterectomy is limited to medical treatment and the nursing related to troubles in psychology, emotion they experience in general situation due to operations is hardly realized. New basis for nursing can be realized when we both have relation with lived human experience related th health and become to be a part of it. We need to catch their experience due to the loss of matrix to understand women with hysterectomy. The subjects of the study were nine patients who were admitted to a gynecological ward of a hospital in Seoul, suffering from vaginal bleeding, back pain, abdominal pain and so on and diagnosing as non-cancer. The data were collected from April to May 1997 by listening to the subjects' expression of their experience and by participant observation of the subjects' reactions. A tape-recorder was used under the permission of the subjects, to prevent the loss of spoken information. The result of the study was as follows : The data on burden content from the interview were categorized as psych-emotional, physical, personal interaction, financial burden and maternal role burden. The factors which have influence on the burden of the subjects are an offer of information, support system, age, occupation, economic situation, family history, character, season, the existence of ovary and religion. In conclusion, since we ascertained that the nursing in the process of recovery decide the quality of life, though women with hysterectomy undergo various burden experience and adapt to it in the end, it is necessary to give them enough information and educate husband, having on important effect on the burden experience, to be a good supporter. And technically skilled nurses of consultant are thought to be able to contrive better qualitative life of women with hysterectomy as an important bridge between the subjects and their required information, since the nurses have their well-formed position of relationship of confidence through continuous contact with patients and their family.

  • Using a method suggested by Yanovskaya, we obtained Rayleigh wave group velocities with a resolution of $1.0^{\circ}{\times}1.0^{\circ}$ in a period range between 10 and 80 s in and around the Korean peninsula. Both regional and distant earthquake data sets were used together in analysis of group velocities. The resolution of the group velocity maps has been remarkably enhanced by the method, especially in the sparse/non-station region in the northern Korean peninsula. Some qualitative geophysical information was inferred from the group velocity maps. In the East Sea, the slow group velocities at periods longer than 40 s suggest the existence of an oceanic lithosphere at depths of 50-70 km, assuming 4 km/s of S wave velocity at a period of 40 s. On the other hand, a thick lithosphere can be inferred in the continental area from the fast group velocities at periods longer than 50 s. For most periods, the group velocities change rapidly over a short distance of about 200 km across the eastern coast of Korean peninsula, which may suggest a rapid change in the thickness of lithosphere in this area.

  • Previous researches show that linearly integrated Hall sensor arrays (LIHaS) can detect cracks in the steel structure fast and effectively This paper proposes an algorithm that estimates the size and shape of cracks for the developed LIHaS. In most nondestructive testing (NDT), just crack existence and location are obtained by processing 1-dimensional data from the sensor that scans the object with relative speed in single direction. The proposed method is composed with two steps. The first step is constructing 2-dimensionally mapped data space by combining the converted position data from the time-based scan data with the position information of sensor arrays those are placed in the vertical direction to the scan direction. The second step is applying designed Laplacian filter and smoothing filter to estimate the size and shape of cracks. The experimental results of express train wheels show that the proposed algorithm is not only more reliable and accurate to detecting cracks but also effective to estimate the size and shape of cracks.

  • Detecting cracks on a concrete structure is crucial for structural maintenance, a crack being an indicator of possible damage. Conventional crack detection methods which include visual inspection and non-destructive equipment, are typically limited to a small region and require time-consuming processes. Recently, to reduce the human intervention in the inspections, various researchers have sought computer vision-based crack analyses: One class is filter-based methods, which effectively transforms the image to detect crack edges. The other class is using deep-learning algorithms. For example, convolutional neural networks have shown high precision in identifying cracks in an image. However, when the objective is to classify not only the existence of crack but also the types of cracks, only a few studies have been reported, limiting their practical use. Thus, the presented study develops an image processing procedure that detects cracks and classifies crack types; whether the image contains a crazing-type, single crack, or multiple cracks. The properties and steps in the algorithm have been developed using field-obtained images. Subsequently, the algorithm is validated from additional 227 images obtained from an open database. For test datasets, the proposed algorithm showed accuracy of 92.8% in average. In summary, the developed algorithm can precisely classify crazing-type images, while some single crack images may misclassify into multiple cracks, yielding conservative results. As a result, the successful results of the presented study show potentials of using vision-based technologies for providing crack information with reduced human intervention.

  • Since insects play important roles in existence of plants and other animals in the natural environment, they are considered as necessary biological resources from the perspectives of those biodiversity conservation and national utilization strategy. For the conservation and utilization of insect species, an observational learning environment is needed for non-experts such as citizens and students to take interest in insects in the natural ecosystem. The insect identification is a main factor for the observational learning. A current time-consuming search method by insect classification is inefficient because it needs much time for the non-experts who lack insect knowledge to identify insect species. To solve this problem, we proposed an smart phone-based insect identification inference system that helps the non-experts identify insect species from observational characteristics in the natural environment. This system is based on the similarity between the observational information by an observer and the biological insect characteristics. For this system, we classified the observational characteristics of insects into 27 elements according to order, family, and species, and proposed similarity indexes to search similar insects. In addition, we developed an insect identification inference prototype system to show this study's viability and performed comparison experimentation between our system and a general insect classification search method. As the results, we showed that our system is more effective in identifying insect species and it can be more efficient in search time.

  • Faithful transmission of genetic information depends on accurate chromosome segregation as cells exit from mitosis, and errors in chromosomal segregation are catastrophic and may lead to aneuploidy which is the hallmark of cancer. In eukaryotes, an elaborate molecular control system ensures proper orchestration of events at mitotic exit. Phosphorylation of specific tyrosyl residues is a major control mechanism for cellular proliferation and the activities of protein tyrosine kinases and phosphatases must be integrated. Although mitotic kinases are well characterized, phosphatases involved in mitosis remain largely elusive. Here we identify a novel variant of mouse protein tyrosine phosphatase containing domain 1 (Ptpcd1), that we named Ptpcd2. Ptpcd1 is a Cdc14 related centrosomal phosphatase. Our newly identified Ptpcd2 shared a significant homology to yeast Cdc14p (34.1%) and other Cdc14 family of phosphatases. By subcellular fractionation Ptpcd2 was found to be enriched in the cytoplasm and nuclear pellets with catalytic phosphatase activity. By means of immunofluorescence, Ptpcd2 was spatiotemporally regulated in a cell cycle dependent manner with cytoplasmic abundance during mitosis, followed by nuclear localization during interphase. Overexpression of Ptpcd2 induced mitotic exit with decreased levels of some mitotic markers. Moreover, Ptpcd2 failed to colocalize with the centrosomal marker ${\gamma}$-tubulin, suggesting it as a non-centrosomal protein. Taken together, Ptpcd2 phosphatase appears a non-centrosomal variant of Ptpcd1 with probable mitotic functions. The identification of this new phosphatase suggests the existence of an interacting phosphatase network that controls mammalian mitosis and provides new drug targets for anticancer modalities.

  • We investigated the polarization retention characteristics of ferroelectric capacitors with $Pb(Zr,Ti)O_3$ (PZT) thin films which were fabricated by different deposition methods. In thermally-accelerated retention tests, PZT films which were prepared by a chemical solution deposition (CSD) method showed rapid decay of retained polarization charges as the thickness of the films decreased down to 100 nm, while the films which were grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) retained relatively large non-volatile charges at the corresponding thickness. We concluded that in the CSD-grown films, the thicker interfacial passive layer compared with the MOCVD-grown films had an unfavorable effect on retention behavior. We observed the existence of such interfacial layers by extrapolation of the total capacitance with thickness of the films and the capacitance of these layers was larger in MOCVD-grown films than in CSD-grown films. Due to incomplete compensation of surface polarization charges by the free charges in the metal electrodes, the interfacial field activated the space charges inside the interfacial layers and deposited them at the boundary between the ferroelectric layer and the interfacial layer. Such space charges built up an internal field inside the films, which interfered with domain wall motion, so that retention property at last became degraded. We observed less imprint which was a result of less internal field in MOCVD-grown films while large imprint was observed in CSD-grown films.
