When restoring endodontically treated teeth is the mismatch between fiber post size and post space diameter, the resin cement layer is excessively thick in post space and voids are likely to form in it, thus predisposing to de-bonding. The method to overcome this problem is to reline the fiber post with composite resin. This individual anatomic post improves the adaptation of post to root walls and decreases the resin cement thickness. The purpose of this in vivo study was to evaluate the push-out bond strength of fiber post according to relining procedure and luting agents type used for simplicity of clinical procedure. Forty-two extracted teeth were divides into six groups.(n=7) A1: relined fiber post cemented with Luxacore/all-bons 2, A2: non-relined fiber post cemented with Luxacore/all-bond2, B1: relinind fiber post cemented with Calibra/XP-bond, B2: non-relined fiber post cemented with Calibra/XP-bond, C1: relined fiber post cemented with RelyX Unicem, C2: non-relined fiber post cemented with RelyX Unicem Push-out bond strength was affected by interaction between relining procedure and luting agent type. Relined fiber post presented higher push-out bond strength value than non-relined fiber post and statically significant differences(p<0.05) Cementation with RelyX Unicem showed significantly higher bond strength than other luting agents(p<0.05).
The purposes of this study were to measure the film thickness of zinc phosphate cement between the casting restorations and preparation walls. In addition, the differences between finger press and non press techniques after the castings were seated completely on the preparation by an automatic mallet until the cement set were studied. The results were as follows : 1) In full cast crown, the cement film thickness on the side wall was thinner than that on the other walls. 2) In 3/4 crown and inlay, the cement thickness was thinner than that in cast crowns. 3) The cement of great W/P ratio showed thinner thickness than that of little W/P ratio. 4) The continuous finger press after the castings were seated completely on the preparations had few influence on the cement film thickness.
The effects of impurities, included in the by-produced phosphogypsum from the dihydrate process, on the hydration of portland cement were studied. Six gypsums were adopted in this study; four different raw phosphogypsums from domestic fertilizer plants, a reprocessed phosphogypsum and a reagent grade pure gypsum. Cements with differing $SO_3$ content, were synthesized by grinding two different commercial clinkers and the above six gypsums together. The effects of the impurities were investigated by measuring the setting time, the non-evaporable water coatent, X-ray phase analysis of cement pastes and the compressive strength of cement mortar specimens. It was found that the soluble $P_2O_5$ known as one of injurious impurities on the hydration of portland cement, included in the demestic raw phosghoypsum cxneedigply by far the specified amounts of the Korean Industrial Standards (L9005), and retarded the setting time severely, thus the strength development of cement was delayed at the earlier stage of hydration.

In this paper, the characteristics of slag cement mortar added with neutralized liquid red mud with sulfuric acid and reduced pH were reviewed to improve the strength degradation of cement concrete added with liquid red mud. As a result, in the case of compressive strength up to 7 days, the strength of the cement mortar added with liquid red mud tends to increase compared to Plain. This shows that adding liquid red mud to cement mortar tends to increase the initial age strength, and the compressive strength on the 28th shows 74% of Plain when adding non-neutralized liquid red mud and 89% when adding sulfate neutralized red mud. Therefore, it is judged that the compression strength is improved by neutralizing the liquid red mud with sulfuric acid.

Some results of experimental investigation conducted to assess the effect of cement composite strength and ductility on the shear behavior and crack-damage mitigation of stud connections between existing reinforced concrete frame in school buildings and seismic strengthening elements from cyclically direct shear tests are described. The cement composite strengths include 50 for medium strength and 70 MPa for high strength. Two types of cement composites, strain-hardening cement composite (SHCC) and non-shrinkage mortar, are used for stud shear connection specimens. The special SHCCs are reinforced with hybrid 0.2% polyethylene (PE) and 1.3% polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers at the volume fraction and exhibits tensile strain capacity ranging from 0.2 to 0.5%. Test result indicates that SHCC improves the seismic performance and crack-damage mitigation of stud shear connections compared with stud connections with non-shrinkage mortar. However, the performance enhancement in SHCC stud connections with transverse and longitudinal reinforcements is less notable for those without additional reinforcement.
This study was conducted to evaluate and compare the apical leakage among the retrograde filling materials; retrograde filling with non-zinc amalgam, cavity varnish and non-zinc amalgam, z.o.e cement, Glass Ionomer cement, scotch bond and silux. Sixty single rooted teeth were divided into six groups and each tooth was individually prepared for its particular group. The specimens were incubated at $37^{\circ}C$ for 24 hrs and then were infiltrated by 2% methylene blue for 7 days. Apical leakage was evaluated by measuring the degree of dye penetration between the filling material and the canal wall. The results were as follows: 1. The scotch bond and silux group showed the least amount of apical leakage and the control group showed the greatest amount of apical leakage. 2. The groups retrofilled with cavity varnish and amalgam, glass-Ionomer cement, scotch bond and silux showed significantly good apical seal than control group. 3. The groups retrofilled with glass Ionomer cement, scotchbond and silux showed significantly good apical seal than the groups retrofilled with Amalgam and Zinc oxide eugenol cement.
To date, methods used to assess the interfacial transition zone (ITZ), which represents the boundary between the aggregate and paste inside concretes, have primarily relied on destructive tests, and non-destructive tests has received little attention until recently. This study assessed the interfaces of concretes with lightweight aggregates based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) for high-strength concretes and examined the possibility of estimating the compressive strength of concretes through non-destructive testing using EIS. The experimental results revealed that the impedance of the hardened cement increased with increasing compressive strength and aggregate density. In particular, when the results of impedance measurement were displayed as a Nyquist plot, the intercept of the x-axis depicting the effective conductivity was proportional to the compressive strength. Furthermore, an equivalent circuit was selected to interpret the correlation between cement aggregates and impedance. Consequently, the compressive strength was found to increase with the value of the resistances of the electrolyte filled in continuous pores in the cement aggregate. And, the pores formed in the ITZ affect this value. The resistance at the ITZ for different aggregates was also obtained, and it was found that the resistance was consistent with the results predicted by SEM images of the ITZ and correlated with the strength of the concretes. The proposed method can be used as a way to easily determine the strength of cement according to differences in aggregate.

3D printing is not only at the fundamental study and small-scale level, but has recently been producing buildings that can be inhabited by people. Buildings require a lot of cost and labor to work on the form work, but if 3D printing is applied to the building, the construction industry is received attention from technologies using 3D printing as it can reduce the construction period and cost. 3D printing technology for buildings can be divided into structural and non-structural materials, of which 3D printing is applied to non-structural materials. Because 3D printing needs to be additive manufacturing, control such as curing speed and workability is needed. Since cement mortar has a large shrinkage due to evaporation of water, cement polymer dispersion is used to improve the hardening speed, workability, and adhesion strength. The addition of polymer dispersion to cement mortar improves the tensile strength and brittleness between the cement hydrate and the polymer film. Cement mortar using polymer materials can be additive manufacturing but it has limited height that can be additive manufacturing due to its high density. When light-weight materials are mixed with polymer cement mortar, the density of polymer cement mortar is lowered and the height of additive manufacturing, so it is essential to use light-weight materials. However, the use of EVA redispersible polymer powder and light-weight materials, additional damage such as cracks in cement mortar can occur at high temperatures such as fires. This study produced a test specimen incorporating light-weight materials and EVA redispersible polymer powder to produce exterior building materials using 3D printing, and examined flame resistance performance through water absorption rate, length change rate, and cone calorimeter test and non-flammable test. From the test result, the test specimen using silica sand and light-weight aggregate showed good flame resistance performance, and if the EVA redispersible polymer powder is applied below 5%, it shows good flame resistance performance.
PURPOSE. The aim of this study was to investigate the shear bond strength of luting cements used with implant retained restorations on to titanium specimens after different surface treatments. MATERIALS AND METHODS. One hundred twenty disc shaped specimens were used. They were divided into three groups considering the surface treatments (no treatment, sandblasting, and oxygen plasma treatment). Water contact angle of specimens were determined. The specimens were further divided into four subgroups (n=10) according to applied cement types: polycarboxylate cement (Adhesor Carbofine-AC), temporary zinc oxide free cement (Temporary CementZOC), non eugenol provisional cement for implant retained prosthesis (Premier Implant Cement-PI), and non eugenol acrylic-urethane polymer based provisional cement for implant luting (Cem Implant Cement-CI). Shear bond strength values were evaluated. Two-way ANOVA test and Regression analysis were used to statistical analyze the results. RESULTS. Overall shear bond strength values of luting cements defined in sandblasting groups were considerably higher than other surfaces (P<.05). The cements can be ranked as AC > CI > PI > ZOC according to shear bond strength values for all surface treatment groups (P<.05). Water contact angles of surface treatments (control, sandblasting, and plasma treatment group) were 76.17° ± 3.99, 110.45° ± 1.41, and 73.80° ± 4.79, respectively. Regression analysis revealed that correlation between the contact angle of different surfaces and shear bond strength was not strong (P>.05). CONCLUSION. The retentive strength findings of all luting cements were higher in sandblasting and oxygen plasma groups than in control groups. Oxygen plasma treatment can improve the adhesion ability of titanium surfaces without any mechanical damage to titanium structure.
Ferrous cement hydrates made from hydrating Portland cement doped with Fe (II) were reported to reductively dechlorinate chlorinated organics and to reduce Cr (VI) to Cr (III). In this study, kinetics of nitrate removal by ferrous cement hydrates were investigated. Nitrate removal kinetics were characterized by experimental variables such as cement hydration, amount of cement addition, Fe (II) dose, pH, and byproducts. As a result, hydrated cement showed better performances than non-hydrated cement due to the formation of LDH (layered double hydroxide). Doping of Fe (II) into the cement was found to improve removal efficiency at high pHs by association with Fe (II) sorbed on cement hydrates as a reactive reductant. Reduction of nitrate produced ammonium as a major product, which accounted for 63.5% of the final products, and nitrite (0.15%) as a minor product. These results indicate that the developed media are effective as sorbent/reducing agents in the nitrate removal and the reaction mechanisms of nitrate removal are sorption and reduction.
