  • In order to accumulate fundamental. data for control of fishes’ behavior at the real fishing ground, the fitness of the numerical model for describing the behavior of fishes was examined by the marine fish. Mullet, Mugil cephalus were used as experimental fishes. The numerical model of fishes’ behavior presented in our earlier paper was modified on the vertical movement of fish school. For the comparision of parameters of the modified numerical model between mullet and rainbow trout, the estimated values of parameters were identified with dimension. The fitness of the modified numerical model was examined by the comparision between experiment and simulation on the several indexes represented by fishes’ swimming characteristics. The obtained result are summarized a follows : 1. The non-dimensional parameter a’ of propulsive force and kb’ of interactive force by the experiment without model net showed a similarity, but the non-dimensional parameter k sub(c’) of schooling force for rainbow trout was lager than one for mullet and the non-dimensional parameter k sub(w’) of repulsive force for mullet was lager than one for rainbow trout. 2. The non-dimensional parameter a’ and k sub(b’) for rainbow trout by the experiment with model net were a little lager than ones for mullet, but non-dimensional parameter k sub(c’) and k sub(w’) for mullet were lager than ones for rainbow trout. 3. The non-dimensional parameter k sub(c’) and k sub(b’) showed the largest and the smallest value among the non-dimensional parameters for rainbow trout and mullet, respectively. 4. The fitness of the modified numerical model was confirmed by means of the compulsion between experiment and simulation on the swimming trajectory of fishes, the mean distance of individual from wall, the mean swimming speed, the mean swimming depth and the mean distance between the nearest individuals. Especially, the similarity of mean swimming depth was improved by using the modified numerical model.

  • In order to generate the 3D structure of the 21-cm signal during the reionization, semi-numerical simulations based on Excursion set formalism are broadly used. However, semi-numerical simulations in the realization of the 3D structure are known to be the ionizing photon non-conserving by the structure of the Excursion set approach. Recently, explicit photon conserving algorithms for semi-numerical simulations introduced, but they are still too slow when forward modelling the 21-cm signal with high-dimensional parameter spaces. Here, we introduce a new method for approximately correcting photon non-conservation, which can be applied on-the-fly. This method is tailored towards the efficient simulation and Bayesian inference with high-dimensional parameter space. Then, we investigate how large an impact that photon non-conservation has on astrophysical parameter inference by performing an MCMC analysis. We find that the ionizing escape parameter is deviated from the fiducial value by 2 sigma when we infer astrophysical parameters without this correction.

  • Flow characteristics of differential pressure flow meters which have a shape of triangular separate bar (TSB) was investigated according to the machining conditions in pressure tapping holes. Diameter of the pressure taping holes is either 1.0 mm or 1.5 mm. Also, number of the pressure tapping holes are drilled either 9 or 17. The mass flow rate of the TSB flow meters are calibrated with a laminar flow meter by connecting them in line. The mass flow rate in the TSB flow meters are plotted with a non-dimensional parameter H which includes the gas temperature, exhaust gas pressure and differential pressure at the flow meters. An empirical correlation between the mass flow rate at the TSB flow meter and the non-dimensional parameter H was obtained. The empirical correlation showed highly linear relationship between the mass flow rate and the non-dimensional parameter H. The hole size of the pressure tapping holes has a bigger effect on the flow rate than the number of the tapping holes.

  • In this paper, we propose new speech feature parameter using the Matrix Factorization for appearance part-based features of speech spectrum. The proposed parameter represents effective dimensional reduced data from multi-dimensional feature data through matrix factorization procedure under all of the matrix elements are the non-negative constraint. Reduced feature data presents p art-based features of input data. We verify about usefulness of NMF(Non-Negative Matrix Factorization) algorithm for speech feature extraction applying feature parameter that is got using NMF in Mel-scaled filter bank output. According to recognition experiment results, we confirm that proposed feature parameter is superior to MFCC(Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficient) in recognition performance that is used generally.

  • Differential pressure flow meters which have a shape of triangular separate bar(TSB) were tested for investigating the flow rate characteristics of the flow meters with varying the temperature of the gas flow. Three kinds of the triangular separate bar flow meters whose aerodynamic angles are different one another are used. The mass flow rate of the flow meters are evaluated using a non-dimensional parameter which includes the gas temperature, exhaust gas pressure and differential pressure at the flow meters, and atmospheric pressure. A burner system which is similar to gas turbine was used for raising the gas flow temperature. The burner system was operated with varying the air/fuel ratio by controlling both the fuel injection rate from the fuel nozzle and air flow rate from a blower. An empirical correlation between the mass flow rate at the TSB flow meter and the non-dimensional parameter was obtained. The empirical correlation showed linear relationship between the mass flow rate and the non-dimensional parameter H. Also, the mass flow rate characteristics at the TSB flow meter was affected by the gas temperature.

  • The unsteady mixed convection Casson type MHD nanofluid flow in the stagnation point with motile microorganism around a spinning sphere is investigated. Time dependent flow dynamics is considered. Similarity transformations have been employed to transfer the governing partial differential structure into ordinary differential structure. The impact of distinct parameters is examined via tables and graphs. The impact of rotational parameter (spin) on profiles of velocity profiles, temperature and concentration is revealed for unsteady mixed convection Casson type MHD nanofluid flow. It is observed that it is clear that rotational parameter has a great effect on non-dimensional primary velocity component but rotational parameter has a slight impact on non-dimensional secondary velocity component. The validity of the current investigation is authorized through comparing the existing outcomes with previous published literature.

  • The convection heat transfer on horizontal circular tube is studied as a conjugated heat transfer problem. With uniform heat generation in a cylindrical heater placed in a cross flow boundary condition, heat flow that is conducted along the wall of the heater creates a non-isothermal surface temperature and non-uniform heat flux distribution. In the present investigation, the effects of circumferential wall heat conduction on convection heat transfer are investigated for the case of forced convection around horizontal circular tube in cross flow of air and water. Non-dimensional conjugation parameter $ K^*$ which can be deduced from the governing energy differential equation should be used to express the effect of circumferential wall heat conduction. Two-dimensional temperature distribution$ T({\gamma,\theta})$ is presented. The influence of circumferential wall heat conduction is demonstrated on graph of local Nusselt number.

  • This article studies the effects of heat generation/absorption and thermal radiation on the unsteady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) Casson fluid flow past a vertical plate through rotating porous medium with constant temperature and mass diffusion. It is assumed that the plate temperature and concentration level are raised uniformly. For finding the exact solution, a set of non-dimensional partial differential equations is solved analytically using the Laplace transform technique. The influence of various non-dimensional parameters on the velocity are discussed, including the effects of the magnetic parameter M, heat generation/absorption Q, thermal radiation parameter R, Prandtl number Pr, Schmidt number Sc, permeability of porous medium parameter, Casson fluid parameter γ, on velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles, which are discussed through several figures. It is found that velocity, temperature, and concentration profiles in the case of heat generation parameter Q, Casson fluid parameter γ, thermal Grashof number Gr, mass Grashof number Gc, Permeability Porous medium parameter K, and time t have retarding effects. It is also seen that the magnetic field M, Thermal Radiation parameter R, Prandtl field Pr, Schmidt number Sc have reverse effects on it.

  • This study experimentally investigate how the Reynolds number affect cavitation performance in a turbopump inducer using water. Cavitation performance has been determined by the static pressure measured at the inlet of the inducer. Reynolds number has been varied by varying water temperature and inducer rotational speed to maintain constant non-dimensional thermal parameter. At low non-dimensional thermal parameter, the critical cavitation number is insensitive to Reynolds number. However, at high non-dimensional thermal parameter, the critical cavitation number increased as Reynolds number increases. Thus, cavitation performance is deteriorated as Reynolds number increases when thermal effect exists.
