  • In contemporary society, vibration and noise in the road nearby buildings have become social problems as vehicles operation has increased. Especially. in the case of the building used to art performance, available suitability of the building is tested by the indoor noise class. Therefore, the Purpose of this paper is the measurement of the structure-borne noise of Seoul Art Center nearby Umyeonsan tunnel and analyzing the effects of countermeasure to it. To measure the effects of countermeasure, not only structure-borne noise is measured, but also the vibration is measured, before and after the construction of Pavement using pad and porous asphalt. Consequently, the sound pressure level in art center 1st floor is reduced after mat pavement method, structure-borne noise that was high In 25Hz wide-band before pavement decreased regardless of experimental vehicle's velocity Using porous asphalt pavement the noise was reduced about 3 dB(A).

  • In this paper, a new technique to reduce the phase noise in microwave oscillators is proposed using the resonant characteristics of the Photonic Bandgap(PBG). Microstrip line resonator has the low Q(Qaulity factor). Therefore, as PBG structure was applied, we examined that the phase noise of the oscillator has been reduced.

자동차 소음 환경에서 음성 인식 (Speech Recognition in the Car Noise Environment)

  • This paper describes the development of a speaker-dependent isolated word recognizer as applied to voice dialing in a car noise environment. for this purpose, several methods to improve performance under such condition are evaluated using database collected in a small car moving at 100km/h The main features of the recognizer are as follow: The endpoint detection error can be reduced by using the magnitude of the signal which is inverse filtered by the AR model of the background noise, and it can be compensated by using variants of the DTW algorithm. To remove the noise, an autocorrelation subtraction method is used with the constraint that residual energy obtainable by linear predictive analysis should be positive. By using the noise rubust distance measure, distortion of the feature vector is minimized. The speech recognizer is implemented using the Motorola DSP56001(24-bit general purpose digital signal processor). The recognition database is composed of 50 Korean names spoken by 3 male speakers. The recognition error rate of the system is reduced to 4.3% using a single reference pattern for each word and 1.5% using 2 reference patterns for each word.

LQR 제어기를 이용한 밀폐음장의 능동소음제어 (fictive Noise Control of Enclosed Sound Field Using LQR Controller)

  • To control the noise of an enclosed sound field, we built a state space model using the acoustic modal parameter description. Using the state space model, we can investigate the controllability and observability, and find an appropriate position of control speaker and microphone to control sound field of the enclosed space. We implemented LQR(linear quadratic regulator) controller and reduced order observer to reduce the first acoustic mode. Experiments showed satisfactory results of 4∼10 dB reduction of magnitude of the first acoustic mode, and support the feasibility of the proposed scheme to lightly damped acoustic field.

  • Radiation noise due to EMI noise generated by the driving circuits of LED lighting devices in a medical imaging room was reduced by decreasing the noise source in the driving circuits and changing the number of corrections in EMI filters. Noise attenuation and filter changes enabled driving circuits that reduced the electromagnetic waves. Such circuits were efficiently designed by using capacitors and inverters in a given space. Therefore, the malfunction of radiation devices can be minimized by using EMI-reduction filter circuits, and reliable operation of medical devices can be expected by blocking electromagnetic waves.

부분대역 재밍 환경하에서 열잡음을 고려한 FH/MFSK 신호의 오솔특성 (Error Rate Performance of FH/MFSK Signal with Thermal Noise in the Partial Band Jamming Environments)

  • Performance analysis is very important to transmit the high quality information and to construct the optimal system for the minimze the noise from the channel of spread spectrum system. In this paper the error rate performance is analyzed with computer simulation in noncoherent frequency hopping M-qry frequency shift keying(FH/MFSk) systems with regard to thermal noise under the partial band jamming environments. AS a result, in case the thermal noise is disregarded, bit error probability of system in jamming fraction ρ and Eb/Nj(bit energy to jamming power density) is reduced with the increase of K and in worst case 32FSK system is better than 2FSK system by 3.23dB with the variatio of Eb/Nj. In case thermal noise is considered, bit error probability of system by 3.23dB with the variation of Eb/Nj. In case thermal noise is considered, bit error probability of system are reduced with the increase of K and Eb/No(bit energy to thermal noise density). Bit error probability in connection with worst case ρ is not largely influenced form over the 14dB to K=1 and 8dB to K=5 accordingly thermal noise disregarding. These results may be useful for avoiding the common vulnerabilities when the spread spectrum system is designed.

A Noise-Reduced Risk Aversion Index

  • We propose a noise reduced risk aversion index for measuring risk aversion through a laboratory experiment to overcome disadvantages of the multiple pricing list format developed by Holt and Laury (2002). We use randomized multiple list choices with coarser classification and reward weighting, supplement the rank of risk aversion with extra individual characteristics of risk attitude, and construct an index of risk aversion by standardizing the risk aversion ranking with quantile normalization. Our method reduces multiple switching problems that noisy decision makers mistakenly commit in experimental approaches, so that it is free of the framing effect which severely occurred in the HL. Furthermore, the index doesn't utilize any specific utility function or probability weighting, which allows researcher to hold the independence axiom. Since our noise reduced index of risk aversion has many good traits, it is widely used and applied to reveal fundamental characteristics of risk-related behaviors in economics and finance regardless of experimental environment.

  • In this paper, the optimum designs of air-bearing surface(ABS) are achieved effectively by using reduced basis concept which can reduce the number of design variables although the design space is distended. Generally, the optimization method is more effective than the trial and error. However, the efficiency of the former is largely dependent on the number of the design variables. In order to reduce the number of design variables and increase the efficiency, reduced basis concept is applied. We can define the desired design as a linear combination of basis designs using this concept. From this optimization method with reduced basis concept, we easily obtain the optimum designs of ABS whose target flying heights are 25, 20, 15 nm.

수동과 능동방식을 혼용한 폐공간에서 소음감쇠 (Noise Reduction using Passive and Active Noise Control in the Closed Area)

  • 수동적인 소음 감쇠는 산업현장에서 발생되는 소음을 감소시키기 위해서 주로 사용된 방법이다. 그리고 능동적인 소음 감쇠방법은 수동적인 소음 감쇠방법에 비해 많은 이점을 가지고 있다. 능동적인 소음 감쇠 시스템은 낮은 대역의 주파수 영역에서 소음 감쇠 성능이 우수하며, 소형 경량으로 설계할 수 있는 이점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 능동적인 소음감쇠를 위한 간단한 궤환 루프 제어 시스템을 제안한다. 능동적인 궤환 제어 시스템은 위상 지연 보상과 반전 회로와 외부 소음을 수음할 수 있는 마이크로폰과 외부 소음을 줄이기 위해 위상이 반전된 소음을 발생시키는 스피커로 구성되어 있다. 그리고 소음감쇠 성능을 향상시키기 위해서 위상천이기를 사용하여 진폭 응답 곡선에서 최대가 되는 주파수에서 위상차가 $180^{\circ}$가 되도록 위상을 보정하여 소음을 제거했다. 능동소음제어에서 위상 지연이 $50^{\circ}$$310^{\circ}$ 사이에 존재하는 소음이 감소되는 경향이 있었으며, 소음은 헬멧 내에서 약 20[dB] 감쇠되는 결과를 얻었다.

  • Squeal noise is generated by railway vehicles transversing tight curves. This squeal has always been noticed as one of the most disturbing noise sourecs of railway systems. At present we cannot predicted squeal noise that is influenced by a large number of dependent parameters. But the application of wheel damping and rail lubrication have successfully reduced wheel squeal. In this study, we measured squeal noise to find out the reduction effectiveness of noise through rail lubricator.
