A large-sized refrigerator has a complicated inner structure such as a shelf and a rack for product loading. Therefore, when the refrigerator door is opened and closed, the temperature inside the refrigerator varies and vibrations occur due to the physical force applied for opening and closing the door. Owing to these factors, an abnormal sound is generated by the relative distortion between the inner structures. In this study, we aimed to clarify the mechanism that generates this abnormal noise inside the refrigerator using experimental approaches, and we also investigated ways by which to reduce this noise. Toward this end, we developed an experimental setup for measuring the noise, temperature, inner pressure, as well as amount of vibration, and we analyzed the main factors causing the noise based on the experimental results. Furthermore, we suggested a way by which to reduce the noise; this method can be applied in the design stage itself.

In this study, we analyzed and showed the enhanced thermal resolution of a lock-in infrared thermography system by employing a blackbody system and micro-register sample. The noise level or thermal resolution of an infrared camera system is usually expressed by a noise equivalent temperature difference (NETD), which is the mean square of the deviation of the different values measured for one pixel from its mean values obtained in successive measurements. However, for lock-in thermography, a more convenient quantity in the phase-independent temperature modulation amplitude can be acquired. On the basis of results, it was observed that the NETD or thermal resolution of the lock-in thermography system was significantly enhanced, which we consider to have been caused by the averaging and filtering effects of the lock-in technique.

As automation equipment and electronic device progresses, the importance of power quality is more increasing. This paper represents the analysis and suppression about the causes of trouble by the inverter's ON/OFF noise in plant in order to prevent damage resulting in a secondary damage to conduct precise diagnosis and effective noise reduction. The countermeasure as a reduced carrier frequency and the LC resonant filter had been applied and confirmed the effective results to solve the trouble of noise.

Ground station in lunar mission is responsible to receive telemetry signal including sensor data from lunar orbiter and/or lander. At preliminary stage of developing this ground station, receiving performance such as antenna size and noise temperature should be designed on the basis of link budget analysis. When the antenna of ground station is pointing to the moon to communicate with lunar orbiter and/or lander, noise level is supposed to be increasing due to the lunar flux density. It means that the moon is working as a noise source to degrade receiving performance when antenna is pointing to the moon. Antenna noise temperature contributed by the moon was firstly calculated and secondary validated by using test configuration in this paper. Consequently, it was shown that antenna noise temperature caused by the moon was quietly matched with measured one and G/T degradation of receiving system in lunar mission can be calculated depending on antenna size and frequency.

The evaluation of the noise for the an existing engine was carried out to improve the current noise level. The applied techniques were 1m air-borne noise, combustion noise analysis, torsional analysis at the front pulley and sound pressure intensity. In addition, the evaluation of the possibility to the noise reduction by means of wrapping the parts was performed to propose the detailed information in engine design. In view of the obtained results, the following countermeasures were recommended to reduce the current noise level through the above methods. Furthermore, in order to assess the influence of combustion noise on the overall engine noise, the noise test was also performed by the change of intake air temperature up to 5$0^{\circ}C$ in steps of 1$0^{\circ}C$. Finally, the fixed design specifications to reduce the engine noise will be decided in consideration of the test data for proto type engine.

We developed a noise reduction algorithm for the measurement accuracy improvement of a fiber-optic distributed temperaure sensor system. The denoising technique is based on the wavelet transform. The proposed algorithm was applied to a FBG sensor output with the Gaussian line-fitting algorithm to minimize the output noise which originated from the intensity noise of the laser light source and the instability of signal porcessing. We confirmed the feasibility of the denoising algorithm by comparing the measurement results with those obtained with the Gaussian line-fitting algorithm only.

A new type actuator has been designed and investigated to overcome thermal problems in slim optical disc drive which is adopted in mobile storage devices. Recently, in optical storage device technical trends, the size of optical disc drives is slimmer to adopt notebook computer and the spindle rotate velocity is faster to achieve high transfer rate and the power of actuator is higher to perform tilting, etc. However, these trends of optical disc drives tend to raise the environment temperature of drives, actuator power and parts temperature. Moreover, it is more difficult to remove the heat inside a drive and the temperature of an actuator increases and drive slims. As a result, increase of surface temperature of actuator body caused that second resonance of an actuator moves down to a lower frequency band and the performance of optical parts also deteriorates. Especially objective lens, coil and magnet of the actuator parts are easily damaged. To manage these thermal problems, in this paper an actuator with a hybrid blade, which is composed of vectra which has low thermal conductivity and magnesium which has high thermal conductivity, has been suggested and verified. Despite the high temperature environment, the proposed actuator showed good dynamic performance.

Air preheater uses the waste heat of the gas which burnt from the boiler from the thermal power plant. Air preheater it is established in the exit of the boiler follows in change of temperature combustion gas and the vibration which it follows in thermal expansion and contraction occurs. Air preheater with ruse the gas the seal the place where it includes a gap in the structure which it does, the vibration which it follows in change of temperature fluctuates the displacement of gap, fluctuation of the leakage quantity which occurs from gap there is a possibility of decreasing an effect to system. Part system it will be able to control the interval of gap in order, control mechanism about under establishing the place where it does the gap control actively, measures a gap the displacement sensor for is necessary. Like this displacement sensor the condition must do continuous running from atmosphere of high temperature was demanded all. This paper investigates the implementation instance of hazard existing which implement the high temperature displacement sensor, it analyzes, produces the result which it examines a model, it was a presentation. These results with the fact that it will contribute in the research for the implementation and a localization of the high temperature displacement sensor and advanced air preheater.

In this paper, bandgap reference PTAT(Proportional to Absolute Temperature) circuit and flexible gain control of LNA(Low Noise Amplifier) which is usable in Zigbee system of 2.4GHz band are designed by TSMC $0.18{\mu}m$ CMOS library. PTAT bandgap reference circuit is proposed to minimize the instability of CMOS circuit which may be unstable in temperature changes. This circuit is designed such that output voltage remains within 1.3V even when the temperature varies from $-40^{\circ}C$ to $-50^{\circ}C$ when applied to the gate bias voltage of LNA. In addition, the LNA is designed to be operated on 2.4GHz which is applicable to Zigbee system and able to select gains by changing output impedance using 4 NMOS operated switches. The simulation result shows that achieved gain is 14.3~17.6dB and NF (Noise Figure) 1.008~1.032dB.
This paper studies a light emitting diode(LED) overlapping method of a head-up display that consists of a digital micro device(DMD) panel and a red, green, blue LED in order to increase the brightness of display system and optical output power. This optimization overlapping method removes a quantization noise which occur due to LED overlapping too excessive and stabilizes the junction temperature of LED. In order to reduce junction temperature of LED, the a correlation between a green duty and LED overlapping ratio is studied. Throughout this study, the brightness of head-up display exhibited high increasement ratio of luminance around 33.3 percent at 39 percent overlapping method.
