  • 디지털 TRS 기지국 RF 시스템을 개발한다. 결정된 사양과 블걱도에 따라 기지국의 수신부 RF 회로를 설계한다. 고주파 대역통과필터 및 저잡음 증폭기, 자동 레벨 제어 감쇠기, 주파수 합성기 등의 주요 모듈을 설계/제작하고 , 이들 각 모듈의 연동을 주 기판을 설계/제작한다. 또한 수신부에서 중요한 고주파 신호의 스퓨리어스 잡음 및 시스템의 잡음을 억제할 수 있는 방안을 강구한다. 설계/제작된 RF 시스템의 각 구성 모듈 및 전체 수신부의 성능을 시험하여 설계 사양과 일치하는가를 확인한다.

BER Simulator Development for Link Compliance Analysis

  • This paper is related to developing new Bit Error Rate (BER) simulator, Sam sung BER simulator (SBERS), in order to evaluate the link compliance and all kinds of effects of link compliance in a real environment. SBERS allows to generate transmit pulse accurately by using the various parameters, and obtain the eye diagram and bathtub curve, which represents the performance of link, by calculating the transmit pulse and the measured frequency response characteristics. SBERS give results as same as real environment after taking account of distribution and value of noise. To verify the accuracy of simulator, we derive the simulated and measured result and compare eye opening. The difference came out to be within 5% error. It is possible to estimate the real environment and design the transmitter and receiver circuit effectively using new BER simulator, SBERS.

디젤기관의 토크 하모닉스에 대한 이론적 해석 (A Study on the Thoretical Analysis of the Torque Harmonics for Diesel Engines)

  • In this crankshaft of marine diesel engines the exciting torques are produced by gas pressure and reciprocating masses. These torques are periodically changing and are extremely out of balance. To calculate the torsional vibrations of propulsion shafting caused by unbalanced torque the torque harmonics are utilized. Until now to calculate the torsional vibrations of propulsion shafting. the torque harmonics have been supplied by the engine maker. When the torque harmonics of an engine are not available the torque harmonics of a similar engine type had to be used. However such data is not suitable for the reliable calculations of torsional vibrations. In this paper the combustion characteristics of marine diesel engines including $\rho{-}\upsilon$ diagram are investigated and the torque harmonics based on these are theoretically calculated. reliability of the calculations is confirmed by comparing them with those of an engine maker. This study should prove useful for the calculations of torsional vibrations for diesel engine propulsion shafting. particularly for 4-stroke engines whose torque harmonics are difficult to obtain directly from the engine and not ordinarily supplied by the engine maker.

Short Periodicities in Latitudinal Variation of Sunspots

  • The latitudinal variation of sunspots appearing during the period from 1874 to 2009 has been studied in terms of centerof-latitude (COL). The butterfly diagram has been used to study the evolution of the magnetic field and the dynamics at the bottom of the solar convection zone. Short-term periodicities have been of particular interest, in that they are somehow related to the structure and dynamics of the solar interior. We thus have focused our investigation on shortterm periodicities. We first calculated COL by averaging the latitude of sunspots with the weight function in area. Then, we analyzed the time series of COL using the wavelet transform technique. We found that a periodicity of ~5 years is the most dominant feature in the time series of COL, with the exception of the ~11 year solar cycle itself. This periodicity can be easily understood by considering small humps between the minima in the area-weighted butterfly diagram. However, we find that periodicities of ~1.3 (0.064), ~1.5 (0.056), or ~1.8 (0.046) years ($\frac{1}{month}$), month ), which have been previously suggested as evidence of links between the changing structure of the sunspot zone and the tachocline rotation rate oscillations, are insignificant and inconsistent. We therefore conclude that the only existing short-term periodicity is of ~5 years, and that periodicities of ~1.3, ~1.5, or ~1.8 years are likely to be artifacts due to random noise of small sunspots.

  • 본 논문은 DRAM에서 DBI (Data Bus Inversion)를 이용한 새로운 방식의 High Speed 아키텍쳐를 설명하고자한다. DBI는 SSO와 LSI와 같은 잘 알려진 문제를 감소시키기 위한 방식중의 하나이다. 본 논문에서는 Analog Majority Voter(AMV), DBI Flag에 의한 GIO 제어회로, 새로운 SSO Algorithm과 같은 많은 아키텍쳐들이 Data Bus의 천이(Toggle) 개수를 줄이기 위해서 제안되었다. DBI Flag에 의해 GIO데이터 반전 여부를 결정되기 때문에 파워 소모가 감소될 수 있고, 데이터 Eye diagram도 40ps이상 증가될 수 있게 되었다. 제안된 DBI Scheme을 이용하였을 때 High speed 동작에서 거의 안정한 SI특성을 얻을 수 있게 됐다. 90nm CMOS Technology를 이용하여 제조되었다.

직접분사식 디젤기관의 착화지연기간에 대한 고찰 (Some Considerations of the Ignition Delay Period in D.I Diesel Engine)

  • The four combustion stages in a diesel engine have close correlation among them. Especially, the ignition delay period has significant effect on the following combustion stage. And the period is also one of inevitable combustion processes in the diesel engine. For example, the diesel knocking is a well-known phenomenon due to the long ignition delay period. The interval of the ignition delay period is affected by the mixture formation process in the cylinder. However, in the case of the D.I. diesel engine, the available duration to make the mixture formation of air-fuel is very short. In addition, the means of the mixture formation mainly depends on the injection characteristics and properties of the fuel. It is difficult to make complete mixture. Therefore, an early stage of combustion is violent, which leads to the weakness of noise and vibration. In this study, using the visible engine, we measured the ignition delay period by photo sensor which detect occurrence of flame and presented the factors of the injection characteristics such as kinds of injection system, the injection pressure and the injection timing. The relation between the ignition delay period and cylinder pressure diagram which was concurrently obtained was also estimated.

변동 응력을 이용한 커넥팅 로드 강건 설계 (Robust Design of Connecting Rod Using Variable Stress)

  • A connecting rod is a crucial part for transmitting an explosive force to the crankshaft in the engine. Stress concentration in connecting rod due to the accumulation of the repeated load may initiate micro crack and result in a crucial break down of the component. Two approaches are adopted to obtain a robust design of connecting rod. Inner and outer array matrix based on combinations of control factors and noise factors are constructed for using Taguchi method. Calculated stress results for each element of matrix are plotted in the Goodman diagram. Robust design approach by Taguchi method reduces stress concentration occurred in small end fillet area of the default model. Variable stress approach using Goodman diagram also confirms a robust design by Taguchi method.

에지 방향의 누적분포함수에 기반한 차선인식 (Lane Detection Based on a Cumulative Distribution function of Edge Direction)

  • This paper describes an image processing algorithm capable of recognizing the road lane using a CDF (Cumulative Distribution Function). which is designed for the model function of the road lane. The CDF has distinctive peak points at the vicinity of the lane direction because of the directional and positional continuities of the lane. We construct a scatter diagram by collecting the edge pixels with the direction corresponding to the peak point of the CDF and carry out the principal axis-based line fitting for the scatter diagram to obtain the lane information. As noises play the role of making a lot of similar features to the lane appear and disappear in the image we introduce a recursive estimator of the function to reduce the noise effect and a scene understanding index (SUI) formulated by statistical parameters of the CDF to prevent a false alarm or miss detection. The proposed algorithm has been implemented in a real time on the video data obtained from a test vehicle driven in a typical highway.

  • This paper describes an image processing algorithm capable of recognizing road lanes by using a CDF(cumulative distribution function). The CDF is designed for the model function of road lanes. Based on the assumptions that there are no abrupt changes in the direction and location of road lanes and that the intensity of lane boundaries differs from that of the background, we formulated the CDF, which accumulates the edge magnitude for edge directions. The CDF has distinctive peak points at the vicinity of lane directions due to the directional and the positional continuities of a lane. To obtain lane-related information a scatter diagram was constructed by collecting edge pixels, of which the direction corresponds to the peak point of the CDF, then the principal axis-based line fitting was performed for the scatter diagram. Noises can cause many similar features to appear and to disappear in an image. Therefore, to reduce the noise effect a recursive estimator of the CDF was introduced, and also to prevent false alarms or miss detection a scene understanding index (DUI) was formulated by the statistical parameters of the CDF. HST Pixel Analysis of NGC 5195

  • We report the HST pixel analysis results of the interacting S0 galaxy, NGC 5195 (M51B), using the HST/ACS images in the F435W, F555W and F814W (BVI) bands. After 4x4 binning of the HST/ACS images to secure sufficient signal-to-noise ratio for each pixel, we derive several quantities describing the pixel color-magnitude diagram (pCMD) of NGC 5195, such as blue/red color cut, red pixel sequence parameters, blue pixel sequence parameters and blue-to-red pixel ratio. Those parameters reflect the internal properties of NGC 5195 like age, metallicity, dust content and galaxy morphology. To investigate the spatial distributions of stellar populations, we divide pixel stellar populations using the pixel color-color diagram and population synthesis models. As a result, we find that the tidal interaction with NGC 5194 significantly affects the stellar populations in their dust content and mean stellar age.
