FeCoGe/페놀 복합체의 정적 자기변형 측정 (Static measurement of magnetostriction of FeCoGe/phenol composites)

  • The magnetostriction of FeCoGe/phenol composites, which is one of the magnetostrictive materials, measured at the external magnetic field. The measurement was carried out using the electrical-resistance strain gage, the wheaten's Bridge for eliminating the unnecessary voltage, and the lock-in-amp for signal amplification and noise filtering. When the external magnetic field was applied in the longitudinal the samples, the maximum strain of 120ppm was taken with regard to the 10wt.% phenol composite. This results indicate that the FeCoGe/phenol composites can be useful as an actuator because it has larger stain than the other solid state actuators such as piezo electric materials.

Performance analysis of WPM-based transmission with equalization-aware bit loading

  • Wavelet packet modulation (WPM) is a multicarrier modulation (MCM) technique that has emerged as a potential alternative to the widely used orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) method. Because WPM has overlapped symbols, equalization cannot rely on the use of the cyclic prefix (CP), which is used in OFDM. This study applies linear minimum mean-square error (MMSE) equalization in the time domain instead of in the frequency domain to achieve low computational complexity. With a modest equalizer filter length, the imperfection of MMSE equalization results in subcarrier attenuation and noise amplification, which are considered in the development of a bit-loading algorithm. Analytical expressions for the bit error rate (BER) performance are derived and validated using simulation results. A performance evaluation is carried out in different test scenarios as per Recommendation ITU-R M.1225. Numerical results show that WPM with equalization-aware bit loading outperforms OFDM with bit loading. Because previous comparisons between WPM and OFDM did not include bit loading, the results obtained provide additional evidence of the benefits of WPM over OFDM.

과대 대조 강조 방지 및 엣지 강화를 동시에 수행하는 히스토그램 평활화 알고리듬 (Histogram Equalization Algorithm for Suppressing Over-Enhancement and Enhancing Edges)

  • Histogram equalization method is a popular contrast enhancement technique. However, there are some drawbacks, namely, over-enhancement, under-enhancement, structure information loss, and noise amplification. In this paper, we propose an edge-enhancing histogram equalization algorithm while suppressing over-enhancement simultaneously. Firstly, over-enhancement is suppressed by clipping a transfer function, then, edge enhancement is achieved by using guided image filter. Experiments are carried out to evaluate the performance of the various HE algorithms. As a result, both qualitative and quantitative assessment showed that the proposed algorithm successfully suppressed over-enhancement while enhancing edges.

검증데이터 기반의 차별화된 이상데이터 처리를 통한 데이터 불균형 해소 방법 (Resolving data imbalance through differentiated anomaly data processing based on verification data)

  • 데이터 불균형은 한 분류의 데이터 수가 다른 분류에 비해 지나치게 크거나 작은 현상을 의미하며. 이로 인해 분류 알고리즘을 활용하는 기계학습에서 성능을 저하시키는 주요 요인으로 제기되고 있다. 데이터 불균형 문제 해결을 위해서 소수 분포 데이터를 증폭하는 다양한 오버 샘플링(Over Sampling) 방법들이 제안되고 있다. 이 가운데 SMOTE는 가장 대표적인 방법으로 소수 분포 데이터의 증폭 효과를 극대화하기 위해 데이터에 포함된 잡음을 제거(SMOTE-IPF)하거나, 경계선만을 강화(Borderline SMOTE) 시키는 다양한 방법들이 출현하였다. 이 논문은 소수분류 데이터를 증폭하는 전통적인 SMOTE 방법에서 이상데이터(Anomaly Data)에 대한 처리방법개선을 통해 궁극적으로 분류성능을 높이는 방법을 제안한다. 제안 방법은 실험을 통해 기존 방법에 비해 상대적으로 높은 분류성능을 일관성 있게 제시하였다.

  • Phase-change random access memory (PRAM) chip cell phase of amorphous state is rapidly changed to crystal state above 160 Celsius degree within several seconds during Infrared (IR) reflow. Thus, on-board programming method is considered for PRAM chip programming. We demonstrated the functional 512Mb PRAM with 90nm technology using several novel core circuits, such as metal-2 line based global row decoding scheme, PN-diode cells based BL discharge (BLDIS) scheme, and PMOS switch based column decoding scheme. The reverse-state standby current of each PRAM cell is near 10 pA range. The total leak current of 512Mb PRAM chip in standby mode on discharging state can be more than 5 mA. Thus in the proposed BLDIS control, all bitlines (BLs) are in floating state in standby mode, then in active mode, the activated BLs are discharged to low level in the early timing of the active period by the short pulse BLDIS control timing operation. In the conventional sense amplifier, the simultaneous switching activation timing operation invokes the large coupling noise between the VSAREF node and the inner amplification nodes of the sense amplifiers. The coupling noise at VSAREF degrades the sensing voltage margin of the conventional sense amplifier. The merit of the proposed sense amplifier is almost removing the coupling noise at VSAREF from sharing with other sense amplifiers.

Determining minimum analysis conditions of scale ratio change to evaluate modal damping ratio in long-span bridge

  • Damping ratio and frequency have influence on dynamic serviceability or instability such as vortex-induced vibration and displacement amplification due to earthquake and critical flutter velocity, and it is thus important to make determination of damping ratio and frequency accurate. As bridges are getting longer, small scale model test considering similitude law must be conducted to evaluate damping ratio and frequency. Analysis conditions modified by similitude law are applied to experimental test considering different scale ratios. Generally, Nyquist frequency condition based on natural frequency modified by similitude law has been used to determine sampling rate for different scale ratios, and total time length has been determined by users arbitrarily or by considering similitude law with respect to time for different scale ratios. However, Nyquist frequency condition is not suitable for multimode system with noisy signals. In addition, there is no specified criteria for determination of total time length. Those analysis conditions severely affect accuracy of damping ratio. The focus of this study is made on the determination of minimum analysis conditions for different scale ratios. Influence of signal to noise ratio is studied according to the level of noise level. Free initial value problem is proposed to resolve the condition that is difficult to know original initial value for free vibration. Ambient and free vibration tests were used to analyze the dynamic properties of a system using data collected from tests with a two degree-of-freedom section model and performed on full bridge 3D models of cable stayed bridges. The free decay is estimated with the stochastic subspace identification method that uses displacement data to measure damping ratios under noisy conditions, and the iterative least squares method that adopts low pass filtering and fourth order central differencing. Reasonable results were yielded in numerical and experimental tests.

화천 지진관측소 지표와 시추공의 배경잡음 특성 비교 (Comparison of Backgroud Noise Characteristics between Surface and Borehole Station of Hwacheon)

  • 화천 시추공 지진관측소의 부지특성을 살펴보기 위해 지표와 시추공 자료에 기록된 배경잡음과 지진신호의 특성을 분석하였다. 배경잡음을 분석한 결과, 비교적 잡음유입이 적은 밤 시간대에 비하여 낮 시간대에서 지표/시추공 잡음에너지 비가 약 15배 높게 나타났으며, 저주파에서 고주파로 갈수록 지표/시추공 스펙트럼 비가 크게 나타났다. 지진신호에 대해서는 P파와 SH파의 우세주파수 양상을 비교하였는데, 진앙거리가 가깝고, 규모가 작은 국내지진은 지표자료에서 8 Hz와 46 Hz에서 우세주파수를 보이며 시추공 자료와 다른 값을 나타내었다. 이는 수평/수직 스펙트럼 비 분석으로 구한 퇴적층의 공명주파수(7.4 Hz, 46 Hz)와 일치하며 상부 퇴적층에 영향을 받아 증폭현상이 나타나고 있음을 시사한다. 이번 연구를 통해 지표 관측소에 비하여 시추공 관측소에서는 배경잡음이 최대 20,000배 이상 감소되고, 상부퇴적층에 의한 증폭현상이 나타나지 않아 양질의 자료를 획득하여 지진관측능력이 향상될 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

3G, 4G LTE 환경에 적합한 0.11μm CMOS 저전력, 광대역의 저잡음증폭기 설계 (0.11μm CMOS Low Power Broadband LNA design for 3G/4G LTE Environment)

  • 3G부터 4G LTE까지의 전체 대역에 적용이 가능한 저전력, 광대역 저잡음증폭기를 설계하였다. 설계한 광대역 다중입력 저잡음증폭기는 기존의 3G인 CDMA의 대역인 1.2GHz대역과 LTE대역인 2.5GHz대역까지 넓은 주파수 대역을 안정적으로 증폭이 가능하고, 다중입력방식을 통해 입력신호의 크기에 관계없이 안정적인 증폭이 가능하도록 설계하였다. 설계된 저잡음증폭기는 1.2V의 공급전압에서 약 0.6mA의 전류를 소모하고, 이는 Cadence사의 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였다. 낮은 입력신호에 대응한 증폭은 최대 20dB이고, 신호에 따라 최저 -10dB의 이득값을 얻을 수 있었다. 잡음특성(NF : Noise Figure)은 High Gain모드에서 15dB이하, Low Gain 모드에서 3dB이하를 가진다.
