Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are networks of mobile nodes that have no fixed network infrastructure. Since the mobile node's location changes frequently, it is an attractive area to maintain the node's location efficiently. In this paper, we present an adaptive randomized database group (ARDG) scheme to manage the mobile nodes mobility in MHANETs. The proposed scheme stores the network nodes' location in location databases to manage the nodes' mobility. When a mobile node changes its location or needs a node's location, the node randomly select some databases to update or que교 the location information. The number of the selected databases is fixed in the case of querying while the number of the databases is determined according to the node's popularity in the case of updating. We evaluated the performance of the proposed scheme using an analytical model, and compared the performance with that of the conventional randomized database group (RDG) scheme.

As wireless connectivity is integrated into many handheld devices, streaming multimedia content among mobile ad-hoc peers is becoming a popular application. In this paper, we propose a dynamic service replication algorithm for providing guaranteed continuous streaming services to all nodes in mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs). First, a MANET is comprised of logical grid hierarchy, and a streaming service is replicated to a lower server region of the logical grid hierarchy by considering the link availability between a mobile node and the streaming server within a server region or the popularity of the streaming service. We evaluate analytically the performance of the proposed algorithm, and compared with that of existing Qin's algorithm. Evaluation results show that our algorithm can achieve better streaming performance than Qin's algorithm. Therefore, the proposed algorithm not only improves the sharing availability of replicated streaming services but also controls efficiently the number of streaming service replications.

Nowadays, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks have gained increasing popularity and have been a major factor in a number of massive cyber-attacks. It could easily exhaust the computing and communicating resources of a victim within a short period of time. Therefore, we have to find the method to detect and prevent the DDoS attack. Recently, there have been some researches that provide the methods to resolve above problem, but it still gets some limitations such as low performance of detecting and preventing, scope of method, most of them just use on cloud server instead of network, and the reliability in the network. In this paper, we propose solutions for (1) handling multiple DDoS attacks from multiple IP address and (2) handling the suspicious attacks in the network. For the first solution, we assume that there are multiple attacks from many sources at a times, it should be handled to avoid the conflict when we setup the preventing rule to switches. In the other, there are many attacks traffic with the low volume and same destination address. Although the traffic at each node is not much, the traffic at the destination is much more. So it is hard to detect that suspicious traffic with the sampling based method at each node, our method reroute the traffic to another server and make the analysis to check it deeply.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD in short) approach is now playing an important role in the engineering process recently. Generating proper grid system for the region of interest in time is prerequisite for the efficient numerical calculation of flow physics using CFD approach. Grid generation is, however, usually considered as a major obstacle for a routine and successful application of numerical approaches in the engineering process. CFD approach based on the unstructured grid system is gaining popularity due to its simplicity and efficiency for generating grid system compared to the structured grid approaches. In this paper an automated triangular surface grid generation using CAD surface data is proposed According to the present method, the CAD surface data imported in the STL format is processed to identify feature edges defining the topology and geometry of the surface shape first. When the feature edges are identified, node points along the edges are distributed. The initial fronts which connect those feature edge nodes are constructed and then they are advanced along the CAD surface data inward until the surface is fully covered by triangular surface grid cells using Advancing Front Method. It is found that this approach can be implemented in an automated way successfully saving man-hours and reducing human-errors in generating triangular surface grid system.

Video on Demand (VOD) is a multimedia service which allows a remote user to select and then view video at his convenience at any time he wants, which makes the VOD become an important technology for many applications. Numerous periodic VOD broadcasting protocols have been proposed to support a large number of receivers. Broadcasting is an efficient transmission scheme to provide on-demand service for very popular movies. This paper proposes a new broadcasting scheme called Popularity Cushion Staggered Broadcasting (PCSB). The proposed scheme improves the Periodic Broadcasting (PB) protocols in the latest mobile VOD system, which is called MobiVoD system. It also, reduces the maximum waiting time of the mobile node, by partitioning the $1^{st}$ segment of the whole video and storing it in the Local Media Forwarder (LMF) exactly in the Pool of RAM (PoR), and then transmitting them when the mobile nodes miss the $1^{st}$ broadcasted segment. The results show that the PCSB is more efficient and better than the all types of broadcasting and caching techniques in the MobiVoD system. Furthermore, these results exhibits that system performance is stable under high dynamics of the system and the viewer's waiting time are less than the previous system.

Recently flash memory has been being utilized as a main storage device in mobile devices, and flashSSDs are getting popularity as a major storage device in laptop and desktop computers, and even in enterprise-level server machines. Unlike HDDs, on flash memory, the overwrite operation is not able to be performed unless it is preceded by the erase operation to the same block. To address this, FTL(Flash memory Translation Layer) is employed on flash memory. Even though the modified data block is overwritten to the same logical address, FTL writes the updated data block to the different physical address from the previous one, mapping the logical address to the new physical address. This enables flash memory to avoid the high block-erase cost. A flashSSD has an array of NAND flash memory packages so it can access one or more flash memory packages in parallel at once. To take advantage of the internal parallelism of flashSSDs, it is beneficial for DBMSs to request I/O operations on sequential logical addresses. However, the B-tree structure, which is a representative index scheme of current relational DBMSs, produces excessive I/O operations in random order when its node structures are updated. Therefore, the original b-tree is not favorable to SSD. In this paper, we propose AS(Always Sequential) B-tree that writes the updated node contiguously to the previously written node in the logical address for every update operation. In the experiments, AS B-tree enhanced 21% of B-tree's insertion performance.

Wireless LAN (WLAN) is type of wireless service that has higher data transmission than current cellular networks. The usage is continually increasing. There are a lot of vulnerabilities in wireless network, due to the properties of the wireless environment, regardless of its popularity. IEEE announced the 802.11i security standard to solve these problems. The vulnerable point of messages used in the process of key distribution for 802.11i makes the target node attacked lose memory through continuous messages and blocks the legitimate WLAN service. In this paper, we proposed new schemes to solve this problem and compared our proposals with the current process. The proposed protocol eliminates the memory exhaustion problem on the client side by using methods for reduction of memory usage.
As the advances of technology in mobile networking and the popularity of online social networks (OSNs), the mobile social networks (MSNs) provide opportunities for marketing strategy. Therefore, understanding the information diffusion in the emerging MSNs is a critical issue. The information diffusion address a problem of how to find the proper initial nodes who can effectively propagate as widely as possible in the minimum amount of time. We propose a new diffusion scheme, called Hotspot DBC, which is to find k influential nodes considering each node's mobility behavior in the hotspot zones. Our experiments were conducted in the Opportunistic Network Environment (ONE) using real GPS trace, to show that the proposed scheme results. In addition, we demonstrate that our proposed scheme outperforms other existing algorithms.

An automated dynamic structural analysis module stands as a crucial element within a structural integrated mitigation system. This module must deliver prompt real-time responses to enable timely actions, such as evacuation or warnings, in response to the severity posed by the structural system. The finite element method, a widely adopted approximate structural analysis approach globally, owes its popularity in part to its user-friendly nature. However, the computational efficiency and accuracy of results depend on the user-provided finite element mesh, with the number of elements and their quality playing pivotal roles. This paper introduces a computationally efficient adaptive mesh generation scheme that optimally combines the h-method of node movement and the r-method of element division for mesh refinement. Adaptive mesh generation schemes automatically create finite element meshes, and in this case, representative strain values for a given mesh are employed for error estimates. When applied to dynamic problems analyzed in the time domain, meshes need to be modified at each time step, considering a few hundred or thousand steps. The algorithm's specifics are demonstrated through a standard cantilever beam example subjected to a concentrated load at the free end. Additionally, a portal frame example showcases the generation of various robust meshes. These examples illustrate the adaptive algorithm's capability to produce robust meshes, ensuring reasonable accuracy and efficient computing time. Moreover, the study highlights the potential for the scheme's effective application in complex structural dynamic problems, such as those subjected to seismic or erratic wind loads. It also emphasizes its suitability for general nonlinear analysis problems, establishing the versatility and reliability of the proposed adaptive mesh generation scheme.
