Gold catalysts supported on metal-oxides were prepared by co-precipitation using the various metal nitrates and chloroauric acid as precursors, and effect of water addition on the catalytic activity in CO oxidation was investigated. Among the various supported gold catalysts, Au/$Co_{3}O_{4}$ and Au/ZnO catalysts showed the excellent activity for CO oxidation. Water in the reactant gas had a negative effect on the oxidation activity over Au/$Co_{3}O_{4}$ catalysts and a positive effect on that over Au/ZnO, which means the activity depends strongly on the nature of support. It was also confirmed that no significant change in the particle size of gold was observed after reaction both in dry and wet conditions. This fact suggested that the deactivated catalyst due to a carbonate species could be regenerated by water addition in the reactant gas.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of balancing taping therapy on reducing headache in patients with angina pectoris undergoing nitrate IV therapy. Methods: A non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design was used. A total of 50 patients with angina pectoris undergoing nitrate therapy at G hospital participated in the study. For measuring pain intensity, the Visual Analogy Scale (VAS) and Non-Verbal Pain Behavior Scale were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0 program. Results: No significant differences were observed between the experimental and control groups in pain intensity. However, the number of times of analgesics of experimental group was significantly lower than those of control group. Conclusion: Balance taping can be effective in pain for patients undergoing nitrate IV therapy. Therefore, utilizing the balance taping can be useful method to reduce headache in patients with angina pectoris during the IV therapy of nitrate.
lanthanum chromite(LaCrO3) powder was synthesized by the combustion of a solution of metal nitrates La(NO3).6H2O and Cr(NO3)3.9H2O and urea. The pH of solution affected a yield of the combustion products but did not influence the morphology of the products. When the pH of the solution was in the range of 0.7-4, the yield of the combustion products was more than 90% The morphology of the combustion products was af-fected by heating methods for the solution. The hot-plate induced heating of the solution yielded powders hav-ing two-dimensionally interconnected agglomerates whereas microwave-induced heating produced a fine and non-agglomerated powders. The specific surface area(BET) of the combustion products using microwave-in-non-agglomerated powders. The specific surface area(BET) of the combustion products using microwave-in-duced heating method were larger(25~32m2/g) than that of hot plate heating method(10-14m2/g)
$SrZr_{0.95}$$Y_{0.05}$$O_{2.975}$ powder was synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis using a solution that Sr carbonate and Zr and Y nitrates were dissolved in a citric acid solution. The processes of particle formation were in-vestigated with respect to solution properties and pyrolysis temperature. With changing the solution con-centration form 0.1M to 0.01M there was a tendency that average sizes of droplets and particles were de-creased and their size distributions were narrowed. Citrate functional groups converted the droplets into gel particles which prevented an inhomogeneous precipitation of the metal ions and facilitated the diffusion of gases during thermal decomposition. As a result the powder having spherical particles without hollow par-ticles could be prepared. Low pyrolysis temperature led to amorphous particles due to incomplete pyrolysis and made the particles difficult to maintain spherical shape due to retarded gelation of the droplets. Whereas higher pyrolysis temperature produced hollow and broken particles because the droplets un-derwent rapid gelationand decomposition. The particles obtained at two pyrolysis temperature $500^{\circ}$and $1000^{\circ}C$ consisted of a perovskite phase and a very small amount of $SrCO_3$ However after calcination at $1000^{\circ}C$ the particles contained a single perovskite phase having an average particle size of 0.63${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and an apparent density near to the theoretical density.
In this study, algae cultivation using the photobioreactor has been applied to remove the nitrogen and phosphorus compounds in the wastewater of the livestock industry. The optimal ratio of nitrate and ortho-phosphate concentration was found for the enhancement of removal efficiency. To achieve the high density culture of algae, the photobioreactor consisted of optical fibers wes developed to get the sufficient light intensity. The light could be illuminated uniformly from light source to the entire reactor by the optical fibers. The structured kinetic model was proposed to describe the growth rate, consumption rate of nitrates and ortho-phosphates in algae culture. The self-organizing fuzzy logic controller incorporated with genetic algorithm was constructed to control the semi-continuous wastewater treatment system. The proposed fuzzy logic controller was applied to maintain the nitrated concentration at the given set-point with the control of wastewater feeding rate. The experimental results showed that the self-organizing fuzzy logic controller could keep the nitrate concentration and enhance algae growth.
We have synthesized new platinum(II) analogs containing 1,2-diaminocyclohexane (dach) as a carrier ligand, 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino) propane (DPPP) /1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane (DPPE) as a leaving group and nitrates to improve solubility. In the present study, the cytotoxicity of $[Pt(trans-l-dach)(DPPP)]\;2NO_3$ (KHPC-001) and $[Pt(trans-l-dach)(DPPE)]\;2NO_3$ (KHPC-002) was evaluated and compared on various P-388 cancer cell lines and porcine kidney cell line ($LLC-PK_1$). The new platinum complexes demonstrated high efficacy on P-388 mouse leukemia cell line as well as cisplatin-resistant (P-388/CDDP) and adriamycin-resistant (P-388/ADR) P-388 cell lines. The intracellular platinum content was measured by a flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer (FAAS), and it was comparable to the results of $IC_{50}$ of the three complexes on $LLC-PK_1$ and P-388/S cells, while only DPPE compound was accumulated in high volume in P-388/ADR and P-388/CDDP cells. While the DNA-interstrand cross-links of KHPC-001, KHPC-002 and cisplatin were similar on P-388/S leukemia cells, these new platinum complexes were much less DNA cross-linking to a kidney derived cell line, $LLC-PK_1$. These results indicate that KHPC-001 and KHPC-002 are a third-generation platinum complexes with potent antitumor activity and low nephrotoxicity.
Dry hams and sausages we re processed manually under the environmental conditions in Seoul, Korea, by addition with $NaNO_2$ - equivalent of 264ppm and 185ppm, respectively. The residual nitrites levels throughout the processing and storage periods were 32-67 ppm which are below the maximum legal allowance of 70ppm . The nitrites showed the highest levels at 2- weeks processing of dry sausages and at 5-weeks processing of dry hams, and the levels were gradually decreased thereafter. The residual nitrites in sausages dried in intestinal cases were lower and dropped below 10ppm after 3-weeks processing. The dry hams processed in summer also contained lower levels of nitrites, below 10ppm after 4-weeks processing. The levels of residual nitrates, however, showed highest when that of nitrites were lowest and were increased gradually with the duration of storage.
The following new cryptand 221 complexes of lanthanides(Ⅲ) and dioxouranium(Ⅵ) nitrate have been synthesized: $(Ln(C_{16}H_{32}N_2O_5)(H_2O)_2(NO_3)_3\ and \((UO_2)_2(C_{16}H_{32}N_2O_5)(H_2O)_4(NO_3)_4$. These complexes have been identified by elemental analysis, moisture titration, conductivity measurements and various spectroscopic techniques. The proton and carbon-13 NMR as well as calorimetric measurements were used to study the interaction of cryptand 221 with La(Ⅲ), Pr(Ⅲ ), Ho(Ⅲ) and $UO_2(Ⅱ)$ ions in nonaqueous solvents. The bands of metal-oxygen atoms, metal-nitrogen atoms and O-U-O in the IR spectra shift upon complexation to lower frequencies, and the vibrational spectra ({\delta}NMN$) of metal-amide complexes in the crystalline state exhibit lattice vibrations below 300 $cm^{-1}$. The NMR spectra of the lanthanides(Ⅲ) and dioxouranium(Ⅵ) nitrate complexes in nonaqueous solvents are quite different, indicating that the ligand exists in different conformation, and also the $^1H$ and $^{13}C-NMR$ studies indicated that the nitrogen atom of the ring has greater affinity to metal ions than does the oxygen atom, and the planalities of the ring are lost by complexation with metal ions. Calorimetric measurements show that cryptand 221 forms more stable complexes with $La^{3+}$ and $Pr^{3+}$ ions than with $UO^{22+}$ ion, and $La^{3+}/Pr^{3+}$ and $UO^{22+}/Pr^{3+}$ selectivity depends on the solvents. These changes on the stabilities are dependent on the basicity of the ligand and the size of the metal ions. The absorption band (230-260 nm) of the complex which arises from the direct interaction of macrocyclic donor atoms with the metal ion is due to n-{\delta}*$ transition and also that (640-675 nm) of $UO^{22+}$-cryptand 221 complex, which arises from interaction between two-dioxouranium(Ⅵ) ions in being out of cavity of the ligand ring is due to d-d* transition.

Continuous input into the aquatic ecosystem and persistent structures have created concern of antibiotics, primarily due to the potential for the development of antimicrobial resistance. Degradation kinetics and mineralization of vancomycin B (VAN-B) by photocatalysis using $TiO_2$ and ZnO nanoparticles was monitored at natural pH conditions. Photocatalysis (PC) efficiency was followed by means of UV absorbance, total organic carbon (TOC), and HPLC results to better monitor degradation of VAN-B itself. Experiments were run for two initial VAN-B concentrations ($20-50mgL^{-1}$) and using two catalysts $TiO_2$ and ZnO at different concentrations (0.1 and $0.5gL^{-1}$) in a multi-lamp batch reactor system (200 mL water volume). Furthermore, a set of toxicity tests with Daphnia magna was performed to evaluate the potential toxicity of oxidation by-products of VAN-B. Formation of intermediates such as chlorides and nitrates were monitored. A rapid VAN-B degradation was observed in ZnO-PC system (85% to 70% at 10 min), while total mineralization was observed to be relatively slower than $TiO_2-PC$ system (59% to 73% at 90 min). Treatment efficiency and mechanism of degradation directly affected the rate of transformation and by-products formation that gave rise to toxicity in the treated samples.

A modern approach to nuclear energy involves reprocessing like transmutations of spent nuclear fuel products to reduce their radiotoxicity and time needed for their storage. For this purpose, they are immobilized in inert matrices made of zirconia and can be "burned" in fast neutron reactor or Accelerator Driven System. These matrices in spherical form can be obtained by sol-gel process. The paper presents a method of microspheres fabrication based on the combined Complex Sol-Gel Process and double extraction process consisting in the preparation of zirconium-ascorbate sol and simultaneous extraction of water and nitrates. The procedure allows obtaining gel microspheres with a diameter of 50 ㎛, which after heat treatment are processed into the final product. The synthesis of zirconia microspheres with Yttrium by internal gelation process is well known for over a decade now. However, the explanation and characterization of synthesis of such material by extraction of water process is rarely found. Parameters such as: pH, viscosity, shape, sphericity and crystal structure have been determined for synthesized products and semi-products. In addition, preliminary research consisting in irradiation of the obtained materials in fast and thermal neutron flux was carried out. The obtained results are presented and described in this work.
