원생동물을 이용한 하수처리장의 수질 예측 (Protozoa as an Indicator of Activated In Sludge Plant Effluent Quality)

  • Genera and number of protozoa were investigated in the conventional activated sludge pilot plant used for the treatment of municipal sewage and pre-treated night soil-containing sewage. In both case, the predominant protozoa was ciliates and among them Vorticella was the most common. In the pilot plant where pre-treated night soil was mixed with municipal sewage, genera of free-swimming ciliates, flagellates and amoeba was higher than in those withour night soil. Correlation analysis on the quality of effluent and protozoa indicates that municipal sewage has positive correlation with protozoa. However in the pilot plan 샐 sewage contatinin pre-treated night coil soil more samples show negative correlation. Followed equations were derived by the regression analysis of BOD in both the pilot plants. In case of pilot plant A of municipal sewage, the analysis B of munici-pal and pre-treated night soil-containing sewage, the analysis of BOD was $6.731$\times$10_{-2}$ $\times$Bodo+0.306(Adjusted $R^2$=0.864). At low temperature, number of protozoa was decreased to 35% and among therm, Aspidisca was the most common genus. Therefore, protozoa can be used as indicator of quality of the effluent in sewage treatment plants.

B3공법을 이용한 분뇨처리시설 처리효율에 관한 연구 (Performance of Night Soil Treatment Plant using B3(Bio-Best-Bacillus) System)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate removal efficiencies of contaminants in night soil treatment plant using the B3 system. The samples were collected from retaining tank and settlement tank in Yechon night soil plant. We experimented concentrations of BOD, COD, SS, TN and TP. Concentration data were processed using removal efficiencies by season and correlation analysis with pilot running parameters. Removal efficiencies of total organic carbon was over 96%, TN was 98% during summer, 80.9% during winter. In the case of TP, the highest removal efficiencies was 94.1% during fall and the lowest removal efficiencies was 82% during spring. Results of correlation analysis showed two positive correlation groups and one negative group. Positive correlations were among temperature, BOD and TN. The others were pH, BOD, COD, SS, TN and TP. Negative correlation were among MLSS, BOD, COD, SS, TN, TP.

분뇨의 호기성 소화처리에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the Aerobic Digestion Treatment of Night soil)

  • Environmental issues are getting imrx>rtant and the polluted environment is now c considered as one of the serious social problems which we have to face. As a result, most people hate an night soil-treating establishment to be built near their village. This paper is intended to reveal the present situation of Sanitary Environment Bureau in Iksan City and its treatment of night soil. The conclusions are as follows 1. The mean quantity of treated night soil per day was approximately 126kl In 1995, and the treated quantity per month was largest in the months from May to August, but smallest in January and February. The quantity of the largest month doubled the one of the smallest, and it is considered to be because the microorganisms are more active in the warm season than in the cold season, being a a ble to process more night soil. 2. The after-treatment sewage water is regarded as being in an optimalcondition because the examination of the water discharged from the establishment revealed the result of BOD 16.67mg/l and SS 14.78mg/l in 1995. 3. The expense for treating human waste was ₩19,582 in Iksan Sanitary Environment Bureau and it was considerably lower than the average expense through the nation, i.e. ₩22,000-25,000. But the cost should be expanded for keeping outworn equipments from the old age. 4. It is desirable for the Bureau to open the establishment so that any adult or student can come into it and watch all the treating processes. It will help the citizens understand the need for the establishment in spite of its nasty and ugly impression. Other cities or countries have to follow this model and try to provide their citizens with a cleaner environment by investing more fund technology for it.

분뇨처리방법의 비용 및 에너지소비 비교 (Comparing Night Soil Treatment Processes in Aspects of Cost and Energy Consumption)

  • 서울에는 아직도 생활하수와 빗물이 함께 흘러가는 합류식 하수관거가 많다. 합류식 관거 지역의 모든 건물은 화장실 세정수로부터 고체상 물질을 분리해서 저장하는 정화조가 설치되어 있다. 정화조는 연 l회이상 청소를 해야 하며 수거된 분뇨는 처리시설을 필요로 한다. 선행연구에 따르면 서울에서는 분뇨량이 꾸준히 증가하여 2020년에는 1일 3,549kL의 시설이 부족하다고 한다. 이 부족한 부분을 어떤 시설로 확보할 것인가에 도움을 주고자 본 연구는 수행되었다. 현재와 같은 하수병합방식에 의해 1일 3,549톤의 분뇨를 처리할 때는 연간 64억원의 비용이 소요되고 공공하수처리시설 방류수 수준으로 처리하면 연간 700억원으로 비용이 급격히 증가한다. 전력량소비량에서는 각각 연간 260만kWh, 8,161만kWh로 비용보다 더 큰 차이가 예성된다. 결국 하수처리시설에서의 분뇨의 병합처리는 비용적 환경적 측면에서 크게 유리한 방법이었다.

연속회분식 반응기(Sequencing Batch Reactor)를 이용한 분뇨중 유기물과 질소 및 인의 동시제거 (Removal of Simultaneously Biological Organic, Nitrogen, and Phosphorus Removal in Sequencing Batch Reactors using Night-soil)

  • Sequencing Batch Reactor(SBR) experiments for organics and nutrients removal have been conducted to find an optimum anaerobic/anoxic/aerobic cycling time and evaluate the applicability of oxidation-reduction potential(ORP) as a process control parameter. In this study, a 61 bench-scale plant was used and fed with night-soil wastewater in K city which contained TCODcr : 10, 680 mg/l, TBm : 6, 893 mg/l, $NH_4^+-N$ : 1, 609 mg/l, $PO_4^{3-}-P$ : 602 mg/l on average. The cycling time In SBRs was adjusted at 12 hours and 24 hours, and then certainly included anaerobic, aerobic and inoxic conditions. Also, for each cycling time, we performed 3 series of experiment simultaneously which was set up 10 days, 20 days and 30 days as SRT From the experimental results, the optimum cycling time for biological nutrient removal with nlght-soil wastewater was respctively 3hrs, 5hrs, 3hrs(anaerobic-aerobic-anoxic), Nitrogen removal efficiency was 77.9%, 77.9%, 81.7% for each SRT, respectively. When external carbon source was fed in the anoxic phase, ORP-bending point indicating nitrate break point appeared clearly and nitrogen removal efficiency increased as 96.5%, 97.1%, 98.9%. Phosphate removal efficiency was 59.8%, 64.571, 68.6% for each SRT. Also, we finded the applicability of ORP as a process control parameter in SBRs.

합병정화조 기술현황 및 전망 (Current Condition and Prospect of On-Site Domestic Wastewater Treatment Technologies)

  • Water quality in the public water course has been polluted more seriously than ever before due to the increase of the number and aremount of pollution sources such as domestic and industrial wastewater. For water quality conservation, the Korean government has been trying to construct sewage treatment facilities continually, of which treatment capacity reached to 11,452,400m$^{3}$/day in 1996. Night soil treatment facilites of m nationwide have the treatment capacity of 24,038m$^{3}$/day. But water quality has not been improved because the sewer systems were insufficient and the treatment efficiencies of sewage were not high, enough. For renovation of water quality, miscellaneous domestic wastewater must be treated because 27g BOD/day out of total 40g BOD/person-day come from miscellaneous wastewater, comparing to 13g BOD/day from night soil. However, sole treatment purifier treat only night soil from the flushing toilet. Therefore, it may be desirable to treat the miscellaneous domestic wastewater and the night soil from flushing toilet together by joint treatment purifier system as on-site domestic wastewater treatment technology. In Korea, the joint treatment purifier system, introduced in 1997, have the benefit as follows; i) good water poiluion control effect, ii ) good effect on river water flow, iii) water pollution control with sewage treatment facility, and iv) rapid pollution control effect, etc. In order to achieve a good effect as stated before, i ) strengthening effluent guideline including BOD, nitrogen and phosphorus, ii ) specializing operation to maintain high performance, and iii) supporting its construction and maintenance costs by the governmental level may be necessary: In addition, automation system of joint treatment purifier, technology for its package and compactness, and a new bio-media bio-filter with higher capacity should be further developed in agreement with a more stringent effluent guideline.

해수중 유기물 분해와 영양염 재생의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Decomposition of Organic Matter and Regeneration of Nutrient in Seawater)

  • This study was conducted to determine the decomposition rate constants of organic matter and to evaluate the process of regeneration of inorganic nutrients in coastal and open seawater. The mixture solution of glucose and glutamic acid, and night soil were used as the test organic matter. Oxygen uptake of test solution was observed every day for 5 days for evaluation of decomposition rate constants, and nutrient contents were analyzed every day for 40 days. The decomposition rate constants have been determined by Thomas slope method and compared with the values of each waters. The values of rate constants for open seawater and coastal water containing the mixture of glucose and glutamic acid were 0.23/day and 0.21/day, and those containing night soil 0.23/day and 0.20/day, respectively. The difference of decomposition rate constants between test materials was not found and the valus for each seawater was equal to each other. The nitrification process took place after 22 days for open seawater when night soil was added to the waters.

스마트팜 생육환경 데이터 획득 및 분석 (Acquisition and Analysis of Environmental Data for Smart Farm)

  • 최근 농촌문제를 해결하기 위해 주목받고 있는 스마트팜은 작물의 생육환경을 최적화하고 효율적인 관리를 통해 작물의 생산성과 품질을 높이는 기술을 의미한다. 이러한 스마트팜에 생육환경 데이터 간 관계를 분석한다면 추가적인 생산성 향상과 작물 관리가 가능할 것이다. 본 논문에서는 온도, 습도, CO2, 토양온도, 토양습도, 일사, 토양EC, EC, pH 9개의 생육환경 데이터를 획득하고, 이를 분석하는 방법을 제안한다. 데이터 획득은 Main board와 Sensor board 간 RS-485 통신을 통해 획득 후 데이터베이스에 저장하였다. 저장된 데이터는 엑셀 시트 형식으로 내려받아 히스토그램, 데이터 차트, 상관관계 히트맵 분석을 진행하였다. 먼저 히스토그램 분석을 통해 전체, 주간, 야간 데이터의 분포를 파악하였고, 주간과 야간을 구분하여 데이터 차트 분석을 통해 월별로 평균, 중앙값, 최소값, 최대값을 파악하여 월별 데이터 변화 추이를 확인했다. 마지막으로 주간과 야간을 구분하여 상관관계 히트맵 분석을 통해 데이터의 상관관계를 파악하였다. 결과 주간에서는 온도와 토양온도, 토양EC와 EC 간에 매우 강한 양의 상관관계를 보였으며, 야간에는 온도와 토양온도, 토양EC와 EC 간에 매우 강한 양의 상관관계, 온도와 토양EC 간에 강한 음의 관계를 확인할 수 있었다.

N하수처리장 정화조.분뇨케익의 재활용을 위한 지렁이 사육 조건검토 (Investigation on management conditions for vermicomposting of night soil in Field at N Sewage Water plant)

  • 본 연구에서는 지렁이처리기술의 실증실험을 통하여 규모의 확대가능성을 파악하고 아울러 유기성오니 처리에 대한 대책방안을 제시하기 위한 목적으로 실제 현장에 사육상을 설치하여 지렁이의 이식방법에 따른 지렁이의 거동 및 정화조.분뇨오니의 처리효율에 대하여 비닐하우스상과 비교검토하였다. 그 결과, 노지사육상에서의 지렁이의 지렁이사육상의 6개월간 먹이 섭취율은 0.27~0.33톤/$m^2$ 로 나타나고, 분변토 발생량은 사육상 6개월간 단위 면적당 평균 0.15톤/$m^2$이었으며 급이된 분뇨케잊의 약 45.5% (44.1~46.7%)로 나타나 절반 정도가 분변토로 배출되어, 비닐하우스 사육상간의 차이는 보이지 않았다. 노지 사육상에서의 지렁이 서식밀도는 최대밀도가 $7kg/m^2$을 기록한 적도 있으나 평균적으로 약 $6.5kg/m^2$을 나타내었고 계절별로는 봄과 가을에 밀도가 높으나 여름에는 다소 낮아지는 경향을 보였으며, 노지사육상에서의 지렁이의 연령분포도는 성체가 많고 유체가 적게 나타나는 역피라미드 형으로 나타났다. 지렁이를 이용하여 처리하는 당해사업소(하우스시설 1200평, 노지 7000평)에는 매립처리비용 및 운반비로 소요되는 비용의 절감효과와 생산된 분변토를 판매한 수익으로 월간 960만원의 수입이 창출되었을 뿐만 아니라 기존의 매립처리방법에 비하여 환경친화적인 것으로 판단되었다.

BMP실험을 이용한 음식물폐기물 및 분뇨의 병합소화 특성 (Characteristics for Co-digestion of Food Waste and Night Soil using BMP Test)

  • 분뇨/정화조슬러지와 음식물폐기물의 병합소화 특성을 확인하기 위하여 BMP 테스트를 실시하였다. 생슬러지, 잉여슬러지, 소화슬러지, 분뇨/정화조슬러지(1:1의 비율로 조성), 음식물폐기물(음식물 파쇄물과 희석수의 비=1:1) 및 혼합슬러지의 6개의 슬러지를 대상으로 30일간 실험을 진행하였다. 바이오가스 발생은 초기 2일 이후부터 활발히 시작되어 2주 동안 지속되는 것을 알 수 있었으며 일정 시간이 경과한 후에는 발생량이 급격히 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 특히 7~8일 사이에 가스발생량이 최대값을 보였으며, Modified Gompertz model을 이용한 생슬러지, 잉여슬러지, 소화슬러지, 분뇨/정화조슬러지, 음식물폐기물 및 혼합슬러지의 단위메탄생산량은 각각 64.63, 67.49, 66.45, 72.44, 107.85, 46.71 mL $CH_4/g$ VS로 나타났다. 혼합슬러지의 지체성장기간은 1.88 day이었으며, 최대메탄생산속도는 80.4 mL/day로 나타났다. 따라서 메탄생성퍼텐셜을 높이기 위해서는 하수처리장의 혐기성 소화조에 투입되는 음식물폐기물의 혼합비를 조절함으로써 빈부하 문제 해결과 동시에 소화조의 안정적인 운전을 기대할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
