This study investigated Post-Occupancy Evaluation (POE) of cherry blossom trails 'Cherry Road' in Daegu Catholic Univ. campus, at Gyeonsan-city, Korea. The evaluation focused on image preference and satisfaction of users i.e., students, using questionnaire surveys. A total 201 questionnaire samples were analyzed and most of the respondents were in the age group of 20. Frequency analysis was conducted on demographics, use behavior, reliability, and means. Factor analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted for user satisfaction and image preference. Over 80% of visitors came with companions during daytime. The most common motives for use were strolling and walking, event and meeting, passing. For user satisfaction the mean scores were highest for landscape beauty (4.22), image improvement (4.14), campus image (4.08). Night lighting facility received the lowest score (3.32). Factor analysis concerning user satisfaction was categorized into environment-human behavior and physical factors. Multiple regression analysis showed that the overall satisfaction of user was significantly influenced by five independent variables: 'harmonious' (β=.214), 'night lighting facility' (β=.173), 'landscape beauty' (β=.208), 'lawn care' (β=.154), and 'walking trails' (β=.123). The mean scores of image variables were highest for 'beautiful' (5.81), 'bright' (5.67), and 'open' (5.64). The lowest scores was for 'quiet' (4.47). Exploratory factor analysis led to three factors being categorized: aesthetics, comforts, and simplicity. Result of multiple regression analysis indicated that the preference of space image was significantly influenced by five variables: 'bright' (β=.397), 'refreshing' (β=.211), 'cool' (β=.219), 'clean' (β=.182), and 'natural' (β=.-142). Hence, Cherry Road has a high level of user satisfaction and image evaluation, which is interpreted as having various cultural events and value for students on campus. To improve the satisfaction of Cherry Road in the future, it is necessary to secure night lighting, to manage trash cans, and to secure rest space.

Reflection considered as the view disturbing noise in optical systems, such as stereo camera in autonomous vehicles especially in night. Reflection caused by the street light or due to rainwater under adverse weather conditions. A blur image detected by the camera that results in wrong guidance to vehicle for detecting its track. A vehicle guidance approach through stereo vision can be same in day and night time. However it cannot be guided with same image analysis due to diverse illumination conditions. We develop the technique that shows its efficacy with illustrations of reflection removal off the camera lens and vehicle tracking control.

In case of image observation equipments, CCTV for short distance visual field is usually installed and operated mostly as the means of crime-prevention. However, the extensive demand for monitoring problems in case of the increase in intelligent crimes and disasters has led to the necessity of the development of long-distance observation equipments embedded with Night View functions. In case of the Night View equipments, the relevant market is set up to be focused mostly on Thermal Observation Device(hereinafter, TOD), but some shortcomings such as the limitation of image visibility and excessive maintenance cost, etc. have actually caused the necessity of new long distance Night View equipment. Moreover there might follow lots of difficulties in long-distance visualization in the event that irregular reflection is generated by minute particles in the atmosphere such as fog, smog, and dust, etc. These factors are motivate the work presented in this study. Our study is aimed at the realization of Pulsed Laser Illuminator and newly proposed Range-Gated image acquisition technology. And also the implementation of Tracker for continuous trace of the objects of interest from the obtained sequence images.
As interest in traffic safety increases, research on autonomous driving, which reduces the incidence of traffic accidents, is increased. Object recognition and detection are essential for autonomous driving. Therefore, research on object recognition and detection through traffic image big data is being actively conducted to determine the road conditions. However, because most existing studies use only daytime data, it is difficult to recognize objects on night roads. Particularly, in the case of a light source object, it is difficult to use the features of the daytime as it is due to light smudging and whitening. Therefore, this study proposes Yolo based light source object detection for traffic image big data processing. The proposed method performs image processing by applying color model transitions to night traffic image. The object group is determined by extracting the characteristics of the object through image processing. It is possible to increase the recognition rate of light source object detection on a night road through a deep learning model using candidate group data.

Thermal imaging is mainly used in military equipment required for night observation. In particular, technologies of uncooled thermal imaging detectors are being developed as applied to low-cost night observation system. Many system integrators require different specifications of the uncooled thermal imaging camera but their development time is short. In this approach, EOSYSTEM has developed a small size, TEC-less uncooled thermal imaging camera module with $32{\times}32mm$ size and low power consumption. Both domestic detector and import detector are applied to the EOSYSTEM's thermal imaging camera module. The camera module contains efficient infrared image processing algorithms including : Temperature compensation non-uniformity correction, Bad/Dead pixel replacement, Column noise removal, Contrast/Edge enhancement algorithms providing stable and low residual non-uniformity infrared image.
Concern about body weight among young females is too much, so distorted body image and restrained eating are serious problems among Korean young females. A society preoccupied with thinness give a psychological burden to women, this burden may have adverse effects on health physically and psychologically. We tried this study to investigate body image, eating problems, and dietary intakes among female college students in urban areas of Korea. We satisfactorily surveyed using their body weight, desired weight dieting, binge eating, and night eating by self-questionnaires with 500 female college students. We evaluated their dietary intakes by semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaires to assess their usual intakes. After removing incomplete data, we analyzed 469 data by SAS 6.10. The 469 women aged 21.1 years. Their mean height, weight, and BMI were 161.4cm, 52.5kg, and 20.2kg/$m^2$ respectively. Though the frequency of obesity was only 2.6$\%$, the frequency of dissatisfaction with their body weight was 84.7$\%$. Female college students desired their hight, weight, and BMI to be 165.8cm, 48.2kg, and 17.5kg/$m^2$, respectively. The frequency of binge eating and night eating were 20.7$\%$and 6.8$\%$. The odds ratios for binge eating and night eating were 10.9(95$\%$ CI : 2.6-15.1) and 6.0(95% CI : 1.8-14.8) in the group satisfied with their body weight compared with the dissatisfied group. The odds ratios for binge eating and night eating were 2.6(95% CI : 1.6-4.4) and 2.4(95% CI : 1.1-5.4) in the dieting group compared with the non-dieting group. The mean caloric intake was 1, 840kacl and percent intakes of carbohydrate, protein, and fat wee 57.2$\%$, 16.3$\%$, and 24.0$\%$, respectively. The dieting group showed deficient intakes of protein and calcium significantly compared with the non-dieting group showed deficient intakes of protein and calcium significantly compared with the non-dieting group. Almost all women college students in urban area had dissatisfaction with their body shape, and desired severe undrerweight. The frequency of binge eating and night eating increased according to dissatisfaction with body weight, diet, and distortion of body image. Dieting has adverse effect on the intakes of essential nutrients. Educations is needed to correct distorted body image, and bad eating habits in young females, and marked preoccupation with thinness among women should then be reduced. It may be an important issue to estimate population of a concerned country. In this study, an appropriate variable was selected to establish a model which fits best the relationship between the night time imagery of DMSP-OLS and population data. Exponential model was selected which was proposed by previous study. Accuracy validation was also performed for each variable extracted from the night time imagery of DMSP-OLS. Consequently, the model showed high accuracy when applied to the area of a certain amount of light was existed. However, further consideration should be necessary when to applied other country or other part of regions.
In this paper, for recognize a night pedestrian from an infrared video, a new method differentiated from the existing feature vector is proposed and experimented. The new approach focuses on the shape feature vector of the structure and shape of the pedestrian image divided by the human body seven split ratio. The pedestrian images are divided into 7 square blocks from the still image of the preprocessing process. And to reduce the dimension, the square block is converted into a mosaic block. The scalar and direction of the shape feature vector is calculated by the brightness and position of the element in the mosaic. For practicality of infrared video system, the proposed method simplifies the data to be processed by reducing the amount of data in the preprocessing in order to continuously batch process the entire system in real time. Through the experiments, we verified the validity of the proposed shape feature vector. In comparison to the existing method, we propose a new shape feature vector generation method as the feature vector for night pedestrian recognition.

This study attempts to grasp the correlation between the image of bridges and bridge landscapes with their surroundings during day and nighttime viewing, and to understand the psychological influence of nighttime lighting through quantitative analysis. In addition, it presents a design to construct bridges in order to increase viewers enjoyment of bridge landscapes lit at night. To attain this objective and contrive generalization of the results, this paper selects 8 of 9 bridges with lightings in Seoul and excludes bridges constructed by 2004. The criteria for selection of the viewpoints is that each must be within easy reach of bridges, and must allow viewers to recognize surrounding landscape details both in daylight and at night. As well, the pictures of bridges are taken in the terraced land by the riverside. The study selects 16 pictures, judged to be of similar quality and angle, to establish the conditions of luminosity, color, definition and angle. The results are as follows. First, viewers preferences of night landscapes are higher than day landscapes due to the effect of lighting. By day, viewers preferred bridges with various structures such as cable-stayed bridges and arch bridges more than simple bridges like girder bridges. Viewers also indicated preferences for lightings which feature a unique color and which are harmonized with their surroundings. Second, components representing the images of bridge landscape are classified into three types, 'beauty', 'system' and 'agreeableness'. Third, the factors affecting preference are the shape of bridge by day and lighting at night. Esthetic appeal is the most important factor in visual preference so each bridges own esthetic appeal and surroundings must be considered. Thus, a complete plan must be created which considers safety, beauty and the local surroundings. In addition, when the lighting of a bridge is selected, the design of the bridge landscape must consider various lighting schemes to harmonize the upper and lower parts of the structure. At this point, the study reveals the basic elements of bridge planning in order to increase appreciation of the bridge landscape.

In this study, we propose optimized RBFNNs based on night vision face recognition simulator with the aid of $(2D)^2$ PCA algorithm. It is difficult to obtain the night image for performing face recognition due to low brightness in case of image acquired through CCD camera at night. For this reason, a night vision camera is used to get images at night. Ada-Boost algorithm is also used for the detection of face images on both face and non-face image area. And the minimization of distortion phenomenon of the images is carried out by using the histogram equalization. These high-dimensional images are reduced to low-dimensional images by using $(2D)^2$ PCA algorithm. Face recognition is performed through polynomial-based RBFNNs classifier, and the essential design parameters of the classifiers are optimized by means of Differential Evolution(DE). The performance evaluation of the optimized RBFNNs based on $(2D)^2$ PCA is carried out with the aid of night vision face recognition system and IC&CI Lab data.
