AL계 희생양극에 의한 2종스테인리스 강축의 음극방식 실용화 연구 (Study of Practical Cathodic Protection of 2nd Class Stainless Steel Shaft by means of Al Sacrificial Anode)

  • In the case of hull material. large sized merchant ships are made of steel, on the other hand FRP or wood are used for small sized fishing boats. At present in Korea approximately 88,500 fishing boats are in operation of which 70% are made of FRP In the meantime, stainless steel is frequently used as shaft materials of the small-size FRP fishing boat. Namely, the kinds of shaft materials are STS 304(18Cr-8Ni), STS 316(18Cr-12Ni-2.5Mo steel) and STS 630(17Cr-Ni-Nb steel)etc. Among these things, STS 304 which is the cheapest and having ordinary corrosion resistance is most widely used as 2nd class shaft material. But, using STS 304 for shaft system material of the small-size FRP fishing boat on seawater environments entails a severe corrosion which causes shaft system troubles. Particularly, the corrosions tend to be concentrated of the stern and bow side, propeller shaft surface of inside of stern tube and the boat having no stern cooling pipe line system. As a solution for those problems, research on the ways to mitigate corrosion on the part of 2nd class stainless steel shaft have been undertaken. In the result, not only clarification for the reason of corrosion of the part of stainless steel shaft used mainly for the small-size FRP fishing boat was done, but also most optimal corrosion protection system was developed by experimenting shaft's protection simulation based of the electrochemical cathodic protection principle. In addition, verification through the field test on the optimal cathodic corrosion protection method by means of aluminum sacrificial anode was carried out. In this study, effective and economical shaft's protection system is suggested to the small-size FRP fishing boat operator by substantiating the results obtained from the research on the optimal cathodic protection.

NITINOL 형상기억합금의 열적/기계적 특성 평가 (Evaluation of Thermomechanical Characteristics of NITINOL Shape Memory Alloy)

  • The thermomechanical characteristics of NITINOL shape memory alloy were evaluated using DSC with small samples and DMA with three-point bending specimens. The shape memory alloy of 54.4Ni/45.5Ti wt.% was used so that the austenite finish temperature was in the range of $50~100^{\circ}C$. Two types of sample were tested in the experiments corresponding to as-received and annealed conditions. Simple beam bending theory was used to calculate the dynamic moduli of the shape memory alloy. According to the results, a large discrepancy in transformation temperatures was found between DSC and DMA techniques. Annealing treatment was found to suppress the R-phase transformation during cooling and the secondary plateau in the austenite transformation. Such a heat treatment was also significantly influenced to raise the transformation temperatures and the moduli of the shape memory alloy.

  • In the recent years, as the research and the development of micro and precision machinery become active, the interest of micro actuators using SMA(Shape Memory Alloy) has been increased. The dynamic characteristic analysis of SMA is necessary for actuator application and many common researches report the material characteristics of SMA sufficiently. However, the research on dynamic characteristics is very deficient. In this paper, the helical spring are fabricated with NiTi SMA wire of high resistivity. The force, response speed, temperature, and displacement are measured by digital force gauge, infrared thermometer, and laser displacement sensor so that the dynamic characteristics of this SMA is analyzed. Also, bidirectional actuator was fabricated and experimented fir its performance.

트윈롤 연속주조 공정에서의 롤의 온도분포 및 응력해석 (Analysis of Temperature and Stress Distributions of the Roll for the Twin-Roll Continuous Casting Process)

  • In this paper, analysis of temperature and stress distributions in the roll for a twin roll continuous casting process was carried out. Firstly, several state equations were set up to determine the temperature distribution in the roll using finite difference method. Secondly, thermal stress in the roll was calculated numerically. Also, stress distribution due to the roll pressure was calculated to determine the effect of the roll pressure. For analysis of temperature distributions and the stress states of the roll, there are three kinds of roll materials, 2ICrMoV5. 11, CuCo/NiBe, CuCrZr and three types of cooling system were used.

YBCO CC테이프 임계전류의 인장변형률 특성 (Tensile Strain Characteristics of Critical Current in YBCO Coated Conductors)

  • The tensile strain dependency of critical current in YBCO coated conductors was examined at 77K and in the self magnetic field. A commercially available YBCO sample with Cu stabilizer layer was supplied. There existed a peak in the relation between the Ie and tensile strain, and the reversible variation of $I_c$ with applied tensile strain was found. In the neutral axis Ni alloy RABiTS-$Y_2O_3$/YSZ/$CeO_2$ buffered YBCO tape, the $I_c$ recovered reversibly until the applied strain reached to about 0.5%, representing that a significant residual compressive strain induced during cooling to 77 K influenced the axial strain tolerance of YBCO conductors. To investigate the strain and stress influence on the $I_c$, the stress-strain characteristics of YBCO conductors measured at 77 K were discussed.

  • Modeling of vibrations of a rotating pendulum with working shape memory alloy rod has been performed in the frames of a microstructural model taking into account the latent heat release, absorption and the heat exchange during direct and reverse martensitic transformation. It has been shown that the influence of the latent heat, the rate of preliminary deviation of the pendulum from the equilibrium, the rate of heating and cooling can have a significant impact on the vibrations and damping characteristics of the system.

사출성형법에 의해 제작된 Fe-2%Ni연자성 소결체의 소결 및 자기적 특성 (Densification Behavior and Magnetic Properties of Fe-2%Ni Sintered Compact Fabricated by Metal Injection Molding)

  • 미립의 3종류 Fe-2%Ni합금 분말(N사), Fe+2%Ni혼합 분말(B사 및 S사)을 항절력 시험편 및 링(ring)형상의 시험편으로 사출 성형, 탈지, 소결 조건(환원 및 소결 분위기, 소결 온도, 소결시간, 냉각속도)을 변화시켜 소결체를 제작하였다. 얻어진 소결체에 대하여는 소결체의 밀도 및 자기적 특성을 평가하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. (1) 탈지한 각 성형체를 수소 중에서 $1123K{\times}3.6ks$유지하고, Ar중에서 $1623K{\times}14.4ks$로 소결할 경우 N(사), B(사), S(사)소결체의 밀도는 각각 96, 99, 99%로 나타났고, 소결체의 산소 탄소량은 각각 0.0041%O, 0.0006%C, 0.0027%O, 0.0022%C, 0.160%O, 0.0026%C의 값을 나타내었다. (2) 위에의 결과로부터 보면 B(사)의 소결체가 가장 우수한 결과를 나타내므로 B(사)의 Ar중 소결체에 대하여 자기적 특성을 조사한 결과, $B_{25}=14.3KG$, $B_r=7.75KG$, $H_c=2.1Oe$로 용해해서 만든 제품의 값에는 미치지 못했다. (3) B(사)의 성형체를 Ar가스 중에서 $1673K{\times}14.4ks$로 소결 후 1123K까지는 $0.83Ks^{-1}$로 냉각하고 1123K부터 실온까지는 $0.083Ks^{-1}$로 냉각한 소결체의 자기적 특성은 $B_{25}=14.8KG$, $B_r=8.3KG$, $H_c=1.3Oe$로 용해해서 만든 제품의 값과 거의 동일한 값을 얻었다. 이상, 소결 조건 제어(환원조건, 소결분위기, 소결온도, 소결시간) 및 냉각속도 제어를 통한 소결 공정으로 목적하는 연자성 재료특성을 얻었다.

고리1호기 해체시의 원자로 구조물에서의 방사회 생성물 재고량 예비평가 (Preliminary Estimation of Activation Products Inventory in Reactor Components for Kori unit 1 decommissioning)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 국내 원자력발전소의 해체시 방사화 생성물 재고량의 평가 필요성이 대두됨에 따라 원자로 수명종로가 가까워지고 있는 고리1호기를 대상으로 원자로 각 구조물의 방사라 생성물 재고량을 ANISN과 ORIGEN2 코드를 이용하여 예비평가를 수행하였다. 코드 입력자료로는 노심에서부터 차폐콘크리트까지 반경방향으로 8개 영역으로 나누어 ANISN 코드를 사용하여 중성자속을 계산하였다. 또한 압력용기의 중성자속 분포를 가지고 주요 핵종의 단일 그룹 반응단면 적을 보정하였다. 본 연구의 결과 압력용기의 경우 원자로 정지시점에서 약 10년까지는 $^{55}Fe,\;^{59}Ni,\;^{63}Ni,\;^{60}Co$ 핵종이 총 방사능의 약 95%정도를 차지하였으며, 약 50년 이상 냉각 후의 총 방사능은 원자로 정지시점과 비교하여 약 0.2 % 이하로 감소하는 것으로 평가되었다. 또한 압력용기의 무게가 210 ton임을 고려해 볼 때, 압력용기의 총 방사화생성물 재고량은 $5.25{\times}10^6GBq$로 계산되었다. 또한 차폐콘크리트의 경우 약 10년 이상 냉각 후의 총 방사능은 원자로 정지시점과 비교하여 1 %이하로 급격히 감소하는 것으로 평가되었다.

Ni기 초합금 B1914의 다결정, 방향성 및 단결정 주조구조에 따른 고온 인장 특성 연구 (A Study on the High Temp. Tensile Properties of B1914 Ni-base Superalloy According to Crystal Structures of Poly-, Directionally Solidified- and Single Crystal Casts)

  • Ni기 초합금인 B1914로 다결정, 방향성 및 단결정을 제조하여, 상온과 고온에서 이들 결정종류에 따른 변형을 관찰하였다. 이들 결정을 제작하기 위하여 진공 주조로에서 냉각속도와 온도구배를 제어하였으며, 제작된 봉상 시편들은 2단계의 진공열처리를 하고 아르곤가스로 급냉하였다. 동일한 모합금인 B1914로 제조된 결정들은 결정종류에 따라서 뚜렷한 변형(stress-strain)을 나타내었다. 즉, 항복강도와 인장강도는 다결정, 방향성 및 단결정 순으로 뚜렷이 증가하였다. 또한 $600^{\circ}C$에서 모든 결정들은 $\gamma$'의 강화효과로 인해서 가장 높은 741-816MPa의 항복강도를 나타내었으며, 인장강도는 1005-1139MPa이었다.

Effects of superimposed cyclic operation on corrosion products activity in reactor cooling system of AP-1000

  • It is essential to predict the radioactivity distribution around the reactor cooling system (RCS) during obligatory cyclic operation of AP-1000. A home-developed program CPA-AP1000 is upgraded to predict the response of activated corrosion products (ACPs) in the RCS. The program is written in MATLAB and it uses state of the art MCNP as a subroutine for flux calculations. A pair of cyclic power profiles were superimposed after initial full power operation. The effect of cyclic operation is noticed to be more prominent for in-core surfaces, followed by the primary coolant and out-of-core structures. The results have shown that specific activity trends of $^{56}Mn$ and $^{24}Na$ promptly follow the power variations, whereas, $^{59}Fe$, $^{58}Co$, $^{99}Mo$ and $^{60}Co$ exhibit a sluggish power-following response. The investigations pointed out that promptly power-following response of ACPs in the coolant is vital as an instant radioactivity source during leakage incidents. However, the ACPs with delayed power-following response in the out-of-core components are perceived to cause a long-term activity. The present results are found in good agreement with those for a reference PWR. The results are useful for source term monitoring and optimization of work procedures for an innovative reactor design.
