This study was conducted to examine middle and high school students' knowledge level of first aid, health promotion, and safety. Data were collected from 1.165 students from March 6, 2000 to April 4, 2000. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. 80.1% of the respondents felt the necessity of first aid. The sources of information about methods of first aid were school (43.9%), mass media (15.6%), and self-study (10.5%). 30.0% of them never learned the methods of first aid. 2. In the case of obtaining information on first aid through mass media, 58.2% of them got it from TV. 7.3% of them obtained it from magazines, while 5.8% of them got it from newspapers. According to their viewpoints of adequate time to teach the methods of first aid, 38.6% of them thought that the methods had to be taught in the primary school and 25.2% of them thought that they had to be taught in the kindergarten. 24.9% of them replied that the methods had to be taught in the middle school, while 11.3% of them replied that they had to be taught in the high school. 3. The points for knowledge of first aid were 98.29:t20.91 on the basis of 150 points (65.5 points on the basis of 100 points). The points showed significant differences in the variables of sex, education level, numbers of siblings, parents' education level, and guardian's occupation.
The pandemic situation caused by COVID-19 has a large and small impact on our society socially, economically, psychologically, and other aspects. In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, various countries, including Korea, have entered into long-term home care and distance learning systems. However, distance learning experiments conducted in many countries have raised whether face-to-face education can be replaced by distance learning. Therefore, in this study, public opinion, social perception, and field trends were analyzed based on media reports on distance learning. For this purpose, 2,600 articles from 11 newspapers and four broadcasters related to distance learning were collected in this study. Based on this data, keyword trend analysis, topic modeling analysis, sentiment analysis were performed.
The objectives of the study were to. 1) explain the seriousness of environmental problems and the importance of environmental education in rural development , and 2) explore more effective and efficient ways of environmental education for agriculture and rural development in Korea. The world has rapidly changed and concepts such as clientele -centered, efficiency, and globalization are flowing under this change. Agriculture or rural development is not an exception. In order for agriculture as an occupation and rural communities to have competitiveness in efficiency and attractiveness, it is important to develop and execute a well-planned program for agriculture and rural development. Otherwise, farmers and rural inhabitants will continue to leave the agriculture and rural areas. Frequent recent reports of newspapers on nit and water pollution, including nutrients and pesticides have brought attention to the seriousness of environmental problems in Korea. Environmental concerns should consider in planning and executing the rural development program. People want to get contamination-free foods, water and fresh air. They can and are willing to pay their money for high quality food, water and a better living environment, as their incomes have been increasing, Agriculture and rural communities may have competitiveness in these aspects. It is irony that environmental concerns makes the possibility of changes in agriculture and rural development in Korea. Environmental education will have an increasingly important role in agriculture and rural development. Environmental problems relate to the human behavior in various aspects. Many environmental problems are mainly rooted to people's ignorance and spending-habits, and lack of technology related to environment. These human behaviors are the focus that environmental education should teach and change. Environmental education has been carried out through various subjects in school education in Korea, but "Environment" in middle school and "Environmental Science" in high school were separated as a regular subject from 1996. Environmental education still has a lot of room for development from a theoretical frame work. Environmental education should be carried out as action-oriented, student-centered programs. Various teaching materials, programs and proper supporting budget should be developed so that environmental education fulfills its necessary role well in agriculture and rural development. A textbook about the environment alone will not guarantee a high quality environmental education.
The purpose of this study was to investigate food service management system and nutrition education of the early childhood education institute in Yongdungpo, Seoul. Self-administered questionnaires were completed by 26 public early childhood education institute and 34 private ones. A majority of the teachers were women over 40 with at least bachelor's degree. Other than the fact that food service provides food to the children, it contributed in providing the essential nutrients to the children, as well as giving them the opportunity to learn table manners. A normal food service would provide one set of lunch and two sets of snacks, which would be provided by the institute itself. In most cases, the director or teachers planned the menus instead of dietitians. Journals, cookbooks, and other information put out by mass communication, such as TV and newspapers, were used as reference to those menus. The factors considered in planning the menus were mainly nutritional balance and the children's food preference. The difficulties in meal management were about the budget and nutritional menu planning. Fifty five percent of the subjects were did nutrition education, and they focused mainly on the table manners and hygiene education but once a year. The difficulties and complaints in execution nutrition education at the institutes were lack of nutritional knowledge, personal shortage, and excessive work. The institutes were urgently requesting for menu provisions from local Public Health Clinics. As a recommendation from the results of this study, food service management and nutrition related subjects should be more enforced into the nursery teacher training curriculum. Also, it is necessary to provide nutrition education to teachers, and as a link, the need to develop a manual for nutrition education has become urgent.

Today, further education of adults in the UK is one of the developing areas of continuing education. The Open University with distance learning, in the process of which innovative forms and methods based on computer and telecommunication technologies are used, is particularly successful in the organization of additional education of the adult population. The advantages of distance learning, multimedia - the latest information technologies, which provide the combination of graphic images, video, sound with the help of modern computer tools, are noted. The basic principles and forms underlying the technologies and forms of work with the elderly are defined. The international experience of implementing "Universities of the Third Age" is summarized. The most widespread approach in adult education in Great Britain is informational. The use of computer technologies motivates a new paradigm in educational methods and strategies, which requires new approaches, forms of learning, and innovative ways of delivering educational materials to adult learners. Information technologies have gained great popularity in such activities as distance learning, online learning, assistance in the education management system, development of programs and virtual textbooks in various subjects, online search for information for the educational process, computer testing of students' knowledge, creation of electronic libraries, formation of a single scientific electronic environment, publication of virtual magazines and newspapers on pedagogical topics, teleconferences, expansion of international cooperation in the field of Internet education. The information technology of synchronous distance learning "online" has gained considerable popularity in the educational process today. A promising direction is the use of multimedia technologies in educational activities to create a design of a virtual computer environment by decoding audiovisual information.

Purpose: This study was designed to analyze the effect of NIE to nursing students on the self-efficacy and professional self-conception in order to provide basic information to help develop meaning and value of nursing and promote the nursing profession. Methods: This study was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design quasi-experiment where the NIE was given to the test group twice a week totaling 17 times during the period of March to May, 2011. Collected data has been analyzed using SPSS 18.0. Results: There was no significant difference in general, self efficacy and professional self concept between the two groups. Scores of the experimental group in self efficacy and professional self concept after the intervention were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion: NIE has been determined to be an educational method that will positively affect self-efficacy and professional self-conception in nursing students. Nursing students who challenge themselves and strive to excel in their studies and improve their problem-solving capacity will have enhanced value and socialization as a nurse.
The purpose of this study is to consider pre-service and in-service elementary school teachers' beliefs about STS (Science-Technology-Society), by investigating their opinions on STS interactions. 222 of the seniors in Jinju National University of Education, namely pre-service elementary school teachers, and 185 of the active teachers in Kyung-Nam Province were selected as the objects for researching these matters. Their beliefs about STS interactions were examined. The results were analyzed with a percentage as an examining tool of TBA-STS(Teachers' Beliefs about Science-Technology-Society). The results were as follows; First, on the nature of science, most of them showed simple opinions. On the nature of technology, most of them also showed simple opinions. most of them recognized the interactions among science, technology, and society affirmatively. They showed simple opinions on the interactions between science and technology. In fact, they didn't recognize the interactions between science and society, but they knew the influence of technology on society relatively concretely. Second, if one consider the cognitive situation or the distributing route of STS, he can easily find that most teachers never or little know it. At present, pre-service teachers learn STS from the lectures in their universities, and in-service teachers get information about it from science magazines/newspapers and training.
Food handling practices playa key role in the prevalence of food-borne illness. Despite the fact that pregnant women are high risk groups for food-borne disease, little is known about their actual food handling practices at home. The objective of this study was to investigate behaviors regarding food-related hygienic practices of pregnant women. The questionnaire included questions in five major areas : personal hygiene ; adequate cooking ; avoiding cross contamination ; keeping food at safe temperatures ; and avoiding food from unsafe sources. Analysis of 488 questionnaires showed the respondents were unaware of the importance of safe food handling practices. Especially, pregnant women in our study should be encouraged to be careful about either risk of adequate cooking $(2.08\pm0.66)$ and keeping foods at safe temperatures $(2.69\pm0.63)$. Residency and number of children were consistent independent predictors of food handling behaviors. Previous food safety education also was found to have significant effect on food handling practices. TV news and newspapers were considered the most usable sources of food safety information by respondents. The behaviors identified in this study represent ones of particular importance for high-risk populations, like pregnant women. These population characteristics identified in this study could be incorporated in development of food safety educational programs for pregnant women being vulnerable on food-borne illness. Our results could have implications for the design of effective food safety educational efforts. This study indicates the need for continued and improved food safety education and for enforcing systematic food safety education for pregnant women.
The purpose of this study is to explore the core competencies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in the major newspaper articles of social network analysis and to examine the core competencies required by each field and target. To do this, we reviewed prior research focusing on core competency concepts and core competencies of engineering students, and analyzed 227 articles related to core competencies of the 4th Industrial Revolution, focusing on five major newspapers. Through analysis, we analyzed social network with 118 refined core competency keywords. As a result of the research, it was found that core competencies of the 4th Industrial Revolution are the degree centrality in terms 'creativity', 'problem solving ability', 'convergence ability', 'collaboration ability', 'conductivity', 'software ability', 'human literacy', 'personality' order. Also, as a result of the analysis of the ego centric network by field and target, the required core competencies of university and industry were found to be different. Through these discussions, it is necessary to restructure the core competence of engineering students in order to nurture the engineering talents necessary for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
This study was carried out to investigate dietary habits and nutrition knowledge of teachers, who are in charge of actual education of nutrition knowledge and dietary habits for students, of the elementary schools. Five hundred male and female teachers, who attended the programs for teacher's qualification of 1st and 2nd grades and function education during summer vacations, were surveyed using of questionnaire at Jeollabuk-do Educational Training Institute. A lot of teachers have had undesirable dietary habits. The most frequently(65.4%) used sources of nutrition knowledge were mass media such as TV, radio, magazines and newspapers, About 93% of teachers recognized nutrition education for the students, and 75.6% of them answered that their dietary habits may have an influence on students' dietary habits. Or, teachers' nutrition knowledge level was found to be low in general. The improvement of dietary habits and their nutrition knowledge of the teachers are very important because their dietary habits and nutrition knowledge have an influence on formation of students' dietary habits.
