  • Currently, due to remodeling of newly built apartment, national resource loss and personal economic loss are being occurred and construction wastes are making more environmental issues. This study aims to devise reduction in cost and economic loss coming from remodeling by selecting general house size of apartment, carrying out surveys and investigating current status of remodeling before and after moving into newly built apartments.

  • In a small territory like South Korea, the only alternative to accommodate people in a big city is building apartment house. Exterior traffic noise is not inevitable as the apartment house is set up on wayside or main road is newly established near the area. As the request for quiet environment increases for a better quality of life recently, the exterior noise is considered to be resolved. This study shows the present condition of exterior noise of apartments and reviews a need for the improvement by comparing and analyzing the regulations of main country. Finally, considered the evaluating the interior noise in the apartment house.

A study on the Occupants' Apprasials of Newly Consturcted Apartment (신축 공동주택의 주거환경에 관한 입주자 평가)

  • Recently, large APT complexes are newly constructed in Taegu city and among them, large APT complexes aggegate densly espically in Weolsung and Jisan complexes of Dalsuh-gu and Susung-gu districts. The purpose of this thesis is to perform occupants' apprasials about residential environment on the housewifes residing at new constructed APT who seem tn have different apprasials on the residential environment by the zones. The results of the investigations are as follows. 1. House possessed type and house sire got elevated in comparison with them before shifting residence in respect to residential property and it was revealed they moved to short distance in the change of their lands. And most occupants could choose their houses by looting-out and there's some difference in the choice motive according to the zones. 2. As a result of studying the relation between demographic and residential properties, there were deep differe-nces in the Possessed house type before move, possessed house size after move, preferenti-al degree of house and move plan. 3. In the degree of satisfaction on residential environment, the result was high in the order of heating facilities, water-supply and draining facilities and lighting and was low in the order of room's size, interior decoration and soundproofin. According to zones, there was a great difference in the items of room's size, privacy, heating facilities, securi-ty from calamity, ventilation, convenience of traffic and school group and facilities for extracurricular activities and the degree of satisfaction was high in Jisan zone in othe items except for room's size and heating facilities. 4. In the tenants' apprasials on tile inside and outside spaces of the zones, important factors were "Cultural Institutions", "Green Areas", "Level of Welfare Facilities" and "Utility degree of welfare facilities" and in the classification of important factors according to the zones, the first and the third factors were changed each other. I think this is because they attached importance to somethings dissatisfied in present circumstances.

Concentrations of VOCs and Formaldehyde in Newly Constructed Apartment Buildings Before and After Residence (신축공동주택의 입주전후 VOCs 및 HCHO 농도)

  • This study was performed to measure the changed concentrations of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds after moving in the newly constructed apartment buildings at Seoul. From December 2004 to October 2005, we measured the concentration of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds in newly constructed apartment buildings before and after residence. In conclusion, it showed that there was a significant relationship association between the con centration of the volatile organic compound and the formaldehyde and remodeling of the house, built in-furniture, and ventilation of the house. Therefore, it was suggested that we need preventive measures and management plans about various factors such. as remodeling, and built in-furniture, ventilation to decrease the concentrations of volatile organic compounds and formaldehyde.

Study on the Characteristic of Floor Sound and Vibration Transfer and the Blocking Function of Floor Sound for Newly Built Apartment House (신축공동주택의 상하층간 소음 및 진동전달 특성과 층간소음 차단성능에 관한 연구)

  • This study involves 2 newly built apartment houses which are A with 23 floors as 150 mm slab width and B with 16 floors as 180 mm slab width. The impact was added by tapping and bang machine at the middle floor level of these 2 apartments and the test was arranged in terms of the characteristic of vibration and sound level which transferred to upper or down floors. As a result, impact floor shows the highest value in terms of both sound and vibration level and followed was at down floor of the Impact floor. Also, blocking function for the lightweight and heavyweight floor impact sound level was tested for each room of the apartment A and B including living room, main room, room 1 and 2. As a result, sound blocking function of B apartment was better than that of A and the function was getting worse when the room size is getting smaller.

The Actual State of TVOC and the Responses of Sick House Syndrome in Newly Built University Dormitory (대학교 신축기숙사의 휘발성유기화합물 농도 및 새집증후군 반응)

  • The purposes of this study were to determine the actual state of the indoor air quality by TVOC concentration and residents' responses and to analyze the influencing factors of IAQ in newly built university dormitory. The field measurements on the levels of TVOC and HCHO were carried out three times at an interval of 4 weeks in 3 rooms of a dormitory. The questionnaire survey on the residents that inquired into the lifestyle, the consciousness related to IAQ, and the responses of SHS was fulfilled. According to the results, the level of TVOC was approximately $0.14{\sim}18.5ppm$ and HCHO was $0.23{\sim}6.89ppm$ during 3 month since construction completion, which are seriously in excess of standard level, and seemed to be on the decrease as time goes by. The factors influencing the differences of the levels of TVOC or HCHO were the amount of ventilation including infiltration, heating temperature, relative humidity, or the use of living things including chemical. However, the residents rarely felt the responses of SHS and did not be conscious of the importance of ventilation.

  • The purposes of this study were to determine the actual state of the indoor air quality by measuring TVOC Concentration and surveying residents' responses in a newly built university dormitory and to analyze the influencing factors of IAQ. Field measurements on the concentrations of TVOC and HCHO were carried out three times at 4 week intervals in 3 rooms of a dormitory. A questionnaire survey was conducted on residents which inquired into the resident's lifestyle, their consciousness of IAQ, and the responses to SHS.   • This paper is contents about vibration character that produce floor slab make up of concrete when played striking at each location. An experiment was achieved in apartment house just before occupancy which build newly to 100m$^2$ scale. Vibration level plays striking in whole 9 places and measured vibration character of x, y, z direction. As the result, vibration level of verticality direction showed high than horizontality direction.

A Study on the '$\sqcap$' shape of Korean Traditional Houses in Jeonnam Area (전남지방의 '$\sqcap$'형 안채 연구)

  • [ $\sqcap$ ]' shape of Jeonnam Area has not been well-known so far. This study is about when, how and on what type the '$\sqcap$' shape had settled among many 'ㅡ' shape houses. The Anchae of Jeonnam Area which appeared 17C. contrasts with 'ㅡ' shape. Especially, the head family's house might have been expected to develop with special difference. 'ㅡ' shape had been built much more than the '$\sqcap$' shape around 20C when modernization had been ripen. It was big event that '$\sqcap$' shape, the head family's house, had been pulled down and then 'ㅡ' shape had been newly built. (Ui Seong-ryeol house) The reason why 'ㅡ' shape had been built instead of '$\sqcap$' shape might be that people accepted the change of 'modernization', that is to say, people accepted convenience and opening. The plan of '$\sqcap$' shape consists of Daecheong and Anbang at the center of Momche, and Jageunbang and Jangji at both sides. In the '$\sqcap$' shape, the center of Momche is wide dand light unlike 'ㅡ' shape. Unjoru, Nogudang, Yundoseo house have long wing and have more encircling Anmadang than other houses, which are well known for a house for a man of noble birth.

  • One-year post-occupancy evaluation was performed for a newly built hospital. Total of 133 in-patients were asked to evaluate their satisfaction on a scale of 1-5, and the lowest score was reported on the categories of the following : rest area insufficiency (2.939), inconvenient in-house shop (3.052), and too small patient room (3.065). We suggest several modifications of hospital structure to improve patient satisfaction.
