  • The emergence of the Internet has provided a new outlet for consumers who experience service failure from products and services, augmenting the traditional options of entry, voice and action. Consumers' negative word of mouth through online (word-of-mouse or eWOM) far exceeds traditional word of mouth (WOM) in respect of its potential effectiveness, speed and spread. This paper tries to figure out the service failure themes in the health care industry by analyzing online word-of-mouse using the critical incidents technique (CIT). Complaint themes in the area of healthcare are identified and analyzed. The results identify that major complaint theme differed according to the site type. Also, the findings indicate that delivery and customer services are critical issues when consumer makes negative WOM.

  • Conventional test algorithms do not effectively detect faults by word-line and bit-line coupling noise resulting from the increase of the density of memories. In this paper, the possibility of faults caused by word-line coupling noise is shown, and new fault model, WLSFs(Word-Line Sensitive Fault) is proposed. We also introduce the algorithm considering both word-line and bit-line coupling noise simultaneously. The algorithm increases probability of faults which means improved fault coverage and more effective test algorithm, compared to conventional ones. The proposed algorithm can also cover conventional basic faults which are stuck-at faults, transition faults and coupling faults within a five-cell physical neighborhood.

  • We propose a extended vector space model by using ambiguous words and disambiguous words to improve the result of a Korean document classification method. In this paper we study the precision enhancement of vector space model and we propose a new axis that represents a weight value. Conventional classification methods without the weight value had some problems in vector comparison. We define a word which has same axis of the weight value as ambiguous word after calculating a mutual information value between a term and its classification field. We define a word which is disambiguous with ambiguous meaning as disambiguous word. We decide the strengthness of a disambiguous word among several words which is occurring ambiguous word and a same document. Finally, we proposed a new classification method based on extension of vector dimension with ambiguous and disambiguous words.

  • This paper investigates any possible correlation between the information structure and the occurrence of clause internal pauses in the spontaneous discourse. One of the possible functions of pause is its capacity to signal the information structure of the discourse. However, this aspect was not much explored in Korean spontaneous speech. In the present study, information structure of spontaneous speech was defined for each word or word group on the basis of the information structure analysis model proposed by Van Donzel (1999) and Roulet (1991, 1997). Thus, at a local level (words or word groups) of discourse structure, a distinction was made between three types of information, new, given and inferable. The results showed that clause internal pauses tend to appear more frequently before new information than other types of information. However compared to the total number of words or word groups it was not noticed any specific ordering concerning different kind of information status and pausing. It was however found that clause internal pauses did not appear randomly. The majority of them occurred at the initial part of the clause or the sentence. This tendency was mostly related to the division of sentence (or clause) into topic and comment. Thus, the role of pauses as a marker of information structure seems to be less effective in spontaneous discourse.

  • The purpose of the present study was to suggest basic word lists and contents of English for mobile games and to propose how to apply basic word lists to mobile games for English vocabulary learning because it is possible that some potential advantages of mobile games can provide elementary school students with new learning environment for English vocabulary learning. To support this idea, firstly, the basic word lists were selected from essential word lists in the national English curriculum, the word lists from textbooks, and five randomly chosen word books. Secondly, mobile games were examined and appropriate mobile games for learning English words was selected. Lastly, the basic word lists for mobile games were applied to the selected game.

  • This study notes the growing importance of online community as a means of building customer relationships. The author aims to identify how to communicate in an online community on preannounced new products, and test social influence that influence word-of-mouth of consumers, and confirm moderate effect of market maven between social influence and word-of-mouth activity in on-line community. The main findings are that social influence such as internalization and conformity positively influence word-of-mouth communication on online community. And moderate effect of market maven confirm between social influence(internalization and confirmity) and word-of-mouth activity.

  • The goal of this paper is to analyze the performance of a word autocomplete system for mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs. The proposed system automatically completes a partially typed string into a full word, reducing the time and effort required by a user to enter text on these devices. We collect a large amount of data from Twitter and develop both unigram and bigram dictionaries based on the frequency of words. Using these dictionaries, we analyze the performance of the word autocomplete system and devise a keystroke profit rate and recovery rate as new evaluation metrics that better describe the characteristics of the word autocomplete problem compared to previous measures such as the mean reciprocal rank or recall.

  • In this paper,we present an efficient morphological analysis model for Korean which produces from an input word all the feasible sequences of morphemes in the word. This model is deterministic in applying spelling rules, and has few redundant computations in processing complex and ambiguous words. This is the effect of three types of new techniques:first,a new method for interpreting speilling rules;second, predictive rule applications which restrict to the spelling rules suitable for the input word;third, the use of dynamic programming which enables the analyzer to avoid recomputing analyzed substring in case the input word is morphologically ambiguous.our model has been experimented with 413,975 word randomly selected from the corpus of Korean elementary textbooks.Experimental results show that our model guarantees fast and reliable processing.

  • To obtain a correctly translated sentence in a machine translation system, we must select target words that not only reflect an appropriate meaning in a source sentence but also make a fluent sentence in a target language. This paper points out that a source language word has various senses and each sense can be mapped into multiple target words, and proposes a new translation disambiguation method based on this 'word-to-sense and sense-to-word' relationship. In my method target words are chosen through disambiguation of a source word sense and selection of a target word. Most of translation disambiguation methods are based on a 'word-to-word' relationship that means they translate a source word directly into a target wort so they require complicate knowledge sources that directly link a source words to target words, which are hard to obtain like bilingual aligned corpora. By combining two sub-problems for each language, knowledge for translation disambiguation can be automatically extracted from knowledge sources for each language that are easy to obtain. In addition, disambiguation results satisfy both fidelity and intelligibility because selected target words have correct meaning and generate naturally composed target sentences.

  • In this paper. we present a new speech recognition system using DSP chip. DSP chip used TMS320c6711 of TI. We designed hardware system including acoustic model, word list and code book in flash memory. The word candidates are recognized based on CV, VCCV, and VC units HMM. This system can be applied to various electric & electronic devices: home automation, robotics etc.
