  • This paper is a study to dectect the tracking owing to deterioration of indoor wiring, and to prevent the electrical fire. After analysing the harmonics of waveshapes in load current and tracking current by FFT, a method of identifying the tracking was developed by using neural network. Fluoscent lamp, witch was mostly used in indoor, was chosen as the load used in this study. When the learning number in neural network was more then 30,000 times, an excellent neural net-work which could correctly identify the tracking was established. Therefore, the result of this study can be utilized as a basic material in various measuring instruments, such as an hotline inslation tester, earth tester in vehicles, and tracking fire alarm device, witch can detect the tracking under the condition of hotline.

  • This paper presents the composite control method using fuzzy and neural network theory. Fuzzy theory is applied to make control rules and neural net is used to learn them and to generate proper control signals. The electric furnace is controlled to maintain the desired temperature and to minimize the fluctuation of the temperatures in various locations inside the furnace. This controller consists of three neural nets which deal with the average of the temperatures, variances of them and the temperature stabilizing mechanism. Experiments are performed with the target temperatures of 70.deg. C and 80.deg. C. Test results show that this simple method is very effective.

  • In this study, we produced defect detection models using parallel convolution neural networks. If convolution neural networks are constructed parallel type, the model's detection accuracy will increase and detection time will decrease. We produced parallel-type defect detection models using 4 types of convolutional algorithms. The performance of models was evaluated using evaluation indicators. The model's performance is detection accuracy and detection time. We compared the performance of each parallel model. The detection accuracy of the model using AlexNet is 97 % and the detection time is 0.3 seconds. We confirmed that when AlexNet algorithm is constructed parallel type, the model has the highest performance.

  • We deploy artificial neural networks to unfold neutron spectra from measured energy-integrated quantities. These neutron spectra represent an important parameter allowing to compute the absorbed dose and the kerma to serve radiation protection in addition to nuclear safety. The built architectures are inspired from convolutional neural networks. The first architecture is made up of residual transposed convolution's blocks while the second is a modified version of the U-net architecture. A large and balanced dataset is simulated following "realistic" physical constraints to train the architectures in an efficient way. Results show a high accuracy prediction of neutron spectra ranging from thermal up to fast spectrum. The dataset processing, the attention paid to performances' metrics and the hyper-optimization are behind the architectures' robustness.

  • When resampling an image to a new set of coordinates, there is often a noticeable loss in image quality. The interpolation kernel determines the quality of interpolation. In this paper, We think two interpolation methods: cubic-spline method, neural net method, at first study given interpolation method using spline and then present new interpolation methon using SOFM and LAM(neural net method), finally compare the performance of several interpolation methods including replication, bilinear, spline and new methods.

  • In a deep neural network (DNN)-based speech enhancement, using global and local input speech information is closely related to model performance. Recently, a nested U-Net structure that utilizes global and local input data information using multi-scale has bee n proposed. This nested U-Net was also applied to speech enhancement and showed outstanding performance. However, a single skip connection used in nested U-Nets must be modified for the nested structure. In this paper, we propose a multi-level skip connection (MLS) to optimize the performance of the nested U-Net-based speech enhancement algorithm. As a result, the proposed MLS showed excellent performance improvement in various objective evaluation metrics compared to the standard skip connection, which means th at the MLS can optimize the performance of the nested U-Net-based speech enhancement algorithm. In addition, the final proposed m odel showed superior performance compared to other DNN-based speech enhancement models.

  • This paper presents a neural net based nonlinear adaptive controller for an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). AUV's dynamics are highly nonlinear and their hydrodynamic coefficients vary with different operational conditions, so it is necessary for the high performance control system of an AUV to have the capacities of learning and adapting to the change of the AUV's dynamics. In this paper a linearly parameterized neural network is used to approximate the uncertainties of the AUV's dynamic, and the basis function vector of network is constructed according to th AUV's physical properties. A sliding mode control scheme is introduced to attenuate the effect of the neural network's reconstruction errors and the disturbances in AUV's dynamics. Using Lyapunov theory, the stability of the presented control system is guaranteed as well as the uniformly boundedness of tracking errors and neural network's weights estimation errors. Finally, numerical simulations for motion control of an AUV are performed to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed techniques.

  • Document page segmentation is an important step in building a quality optical character recognition module. The study examined already existing work on the topic of page segmentation and focused on the development of a segmentation model that has greater functional significance for application in an organization, as well as broad capabilities for managing the quality of the model. The main problems of document segmentation were highlighted, which include a complex background of intersecting objects. As classes for detection, not only classic text, table and figure were selected, but also additional types, such as signature, logo and table without borders (or with partially missing borders). This made it possible to pose a non-trivial task of detecting non-standard document elements. The authors compared existing neural network architectures for object detection based on published research data. The most suitable architecture was RetinaNet. To ensure the possibility of quality control of the model, a method based on neural network modeling using the RetinaNet architecture is proposed. During the study, several models were built, the quality of which was assessed on the test sample using the Mean average Precision metric. The best result among the constructed algorithms was shown by a model that includes four neural networks: the focus of the first neural network on detecting tables and tables without borders, the second - seals and signatures, the third - pictures and logos, and the fourth - text. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that the approach based on four neural networks showed the best results in accordance with the objectives of the study on the test sample in the context of most classes of detection. The method proposed in the article can be used to recognize other objects. A promising direction in which the analysis can be continued is the segmentation of tables; the areas of the table that differ in function will act as classes: heading, cell with a name, cell with data, empty cell.

  • This paper describes a neural network based control scheme with MRAC. The system consists of two neural network; one is for identifier and the other is for controller. Identification is firstly performed to learn the behavior of the nonlinear plant. Neural net controller is next trained by backpropagating the error at the output of plant through the identifier. Also the training method used in this paper repeatedly updates weights of neural network to track the reference model.
