  • Transport Control Protocol (TCP)은 소프트웨어로 구현되어 네트워크로 입출력되는 데이터를 처리하는 역할을 한다. 네트워크 기술의 향상으로 CPU에서 수행되는 TCP의 처리가 새로운 병목점으로 등장하고 있다. 또한 iSCSI와 같은 Storage Area Network (SAN) 에서도 TCP의 고속 처리가 전체 시스템의 성능을 결정하는 주요 관건이 되고 있다. 이러한 TCP를 하드웨어로 구현할 경우, 엔드 시스템에서의 CPU의 부하를 줄이고, 고속의 데이터 처리가 가능하여진다. 본 논문에서는TCP의 고속 처리를 위한 전용 하드웨어 엔진에 관하여 다룬다. TCP 하드웨어 는 TCP Connection을 담당하는 블럭과 Receive flow 를 위한 Rx TCP 블럭, Transmit Flow를 위한 Tx TCP 블럭으로 구성된다. TCP Connection 볼럭은 TCP connection 상태를 관리하는 기능을 수행한다. Rx TCP 블록은 네트워크로부터 패킷을 받아 헤더와 데이터 처리를 담당하는데, 헤더 정보를 parsing 하여 전달하고, 데이터를 순서에 맞게 조립하는 역할도 담당한다. Tx TCP 블럭은 CPU로부터 온 데이터를 패킷을 만들어 네트워크로 전송하는 기능, 신뢰성 있는 데이터 전송을 위한 재전송 기능1 Transmit Window 의 관리와 Sequence Number를 생성, 관리하는 기능을 담당한다. TCP 하드웨어 엔진을 검증하기 위한 여러 가지 Testcase들이 수행되었으며, 구현된 TCP 전용 하드웨어 엔진을 0.18 마이크론 기술을 사용하여 Synthesis 한 결과, 입출력 데이터를 저장하기 위한 버퍼를 제외하곡 51K 게이트가 소요됨을 보았다.

  • PW206C 터보 축 엔진을 위해 신경회로망을 이용한 지능형 성능 진단 프로그램이 제안되었다. 이 엔진은 항공우주연구원에서 개발 중에 있는 틸트 로터 타입 스마트 무인기의 추진시스템으로 선정되었다. 1개의 은닉층, 입력층, 출력층을 가지는 BPN(Back Propagation Network)이 신경회로망을 학습시키기 위해 이용되었다 입력층은 7개의 뉴런을 가지는데 SHP, MF, PT2, TT2, PT4, TT4 및 TT5와 같은 측정파라미터이며 출력층은 6개의 뉴런으로 구성되어 있으며 각각은 압축기, 압축기 터빈, 동력 터빈의 유량함수 및 효율이다. 신경망을 훈련하고 테스트하기 위한 데이터 베이스는 가스터빈 성능모사 프로그램을 이용하여 구성하였다. 훈련된 신경망을 PW206C 터보 축 엔진의 진단에 적용한 결과 제안된 진단 알고리즘이 압축기 오염과 압축기 터빈의 침식과 같은 단일 손상을 탐지하는데 유용함을 확인하였다.

  • GENIE is a learning-based engine for building intelligent systems. Learning in GENIE proceeds by incrementally modeling its human or technical environment using a neural network and a genetic algorithm. The neural network is used to represent the knowledge for solving a given task and has the ability to grow its structure. The genetic algorithm provides the neural network with training examples by actively exploring the example space of the problem. Integrated into the training examples by actively exploring the example space of the problem. Integrated into the GENIE system architecture, the genetic algorithm and the neural network build a virtually self-teaching autonomous learning system. This paper describes the structure of GENIE and its learning components. The performance is demonstrated on a robot learning problem. We also discuss the lessons learned from experiments with GENIE and point out further possibilities of effectively hybridizing genetic algorithms with neural networks and other softcomputing techniques.

  • 본 논문에서는 OpenGL-ES 기반의 모바일 3D 블루투스 게임 엔진을 설계 및 구현하였다. 기존 모바일 3D 네트워크 게임에서는 Wap(Wireless Application Protocol)과 VM 방식(Network)을 이용한 무선인터넷 게임이 주류를 이루고 있다. 그러나, 이들 모바일 네트워크 게임의 단점으로 지적되는 무선 네트워크 접속에 따른 지나친 통신 요금의 부담으로 인해 VM 형태를 기반으로 하는 다운로드형 게임 즉, 단독형 게임이 인기를 끌고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 모바일 네트워크 게임의 단점을 해결하기 위해 모바일 3D 표준(C언어 기반)인 OpenGL-ES로 근거리에 있는 사람들이 무선 인터넷에 접속하지 않고, 모바일 3D 네트워크 게임을 즐길수 있는 모바일 3D 블루투스 게임 엔진을 제작하며, 다수의 블루투스 단말기 상에서 패킷 데이터를 전송할 때, 블루투스 처리 속도를 향상시키는 스케줄링(Scheduling) 방법을 제시한다.

Propulsion System Modeling and Reduction for Conceptual Truss-Braced Wing Aircraft Design

  • A truss-braced wing (TBW) aircraft has recently received increasing attention due to higher aerodynamic efficiency compared to conventional cantilever wing aircraft. For conceptual TBW aircraft design, we developed a propulsion-and-airframe integrated design environment by replacing a semi-empirical turbofan engine model with a thermodynamic cycle-based one built upon the numerical propulsion system simulation (NPSS). The constructed NPSS model benefitted TBW aircraft design study, as it could handle engine installation effects influencing engine fuel efficiency. The NPSS model also contributed to broadening TBW aircraft design space, for it provided turbofan engine design variables involving a technology factor reflecting progress in propulsion technology. To effectively consolidate the NPSS propulsion model with the TBW airframe model, we devised a rapid, approximate substitute of the NPSS model by reduced-order modeling (ROM) to resolve difficulties in model integration. In addition, we formed an artificial neural network (ANN) that associates engine component attributes evaluated by object-oriented weight analysis of turbine engine (WATE++) with engine design variables to determine engine weight and size, both of which bring together the propulsion and airframe system models. Through propulsion-andairframe design space exploration, we optimized TBW aircraft design for fuel saving and revealed that a simple engine model neglecting engine installation effects may overestimate TBW aircraft performance.

  • Axial fans are widely used in heavy machines due to their ability to produce high flow rate for cooling of engines. At the same time, the noise generated by these fans causes one of the most serious problems. This work is concerned with the low noise technique of discrete frequency noise. To calculate the unsteady resultant force over the fan blade in an unsymmetric engine room. Time-Marching Free-Wake Method is used. From the calculations of unsteady force on fan blades, noise signal of an engine cooling fan is calculated by using an acoustic similarity law. Noise optimization is obtained from Neural Network which is constructed based on the calculated flow rate and noise spectrum.

Area-Optimized Multi-Standard AES-CCM Security Engine for IEEE 802.15.4 / 802.15.6

  • Recently, as IoT (Internet of Things) becomes more important, low cost implementation of sensor nodes also becomes critical issues for two well-known standards, IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.15.6 which stands for WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network) and WBAN (Wireless Body Area Network), respectively. This paper presents the area-optimized AES-CCM (Advanced Encryption Standard - Counter with CBC-MAC) hardware security engine which can support both IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.15.6 standards. First, for the low cost design, we propose the 8-bit AES encryption core with the S-box that consists of fully combinational logic based on composite field arithmetic. We also exploit the toggle method to reduce the complexity of design further by reusing the AES core for performing two operation mode of AES-CCM. The implementation results show that the total gate count of proposed AES-CCM security engine can be reduced by up to 42.5% compared to the conventional design.

  • Based on experimental analysis, the characteristics of pulsating pressure wave propagation is clarified by testing of 4-stroke gasoline engine. The pulsating pressure wave in exhaust system is generated gyulsating gas flow due the working of exhaust valve. The pulsating pressure wave is closely concerned to the loss of engine power according to back pressure and exhaust noise. It is difficult to exactly calculate pulsating pressure wave nonlinear effect. Therefore, in the first step for solving these problems, this paper contains experimental model and analysis method which are applied two-port network analysis. Also, it shows coherence function, frequency response function. back pressure, and gradient of temperature in exhaust system.

신재생 에너지원 활용을 위한 어선 전력계통 분석 및 모델링 (Analysis and Modeling of Fishing Boat's Power Network for using Renewable Energy Source)

  • A modeling method of electric power network inside a fishing boat less than 5 tons is proposed for its high-energy efficiency with renewable energy sources. The power network inside the fishing boat consists of a diesel engine, a starter motor, an alternator, battery packs, and electric loads, which are connected in parallel. To obtain proper power network model, the voltage -current characteristics of the electric components are considered to develop elaborate electrical models under several load conditions. Measured data of the battery and alternator current include noise. By using an average method, the AC components from the power network of the fishing boat can be reduced, which is verified by KCL rule. Using the proposed power network model, the power generation of the alternator and the reduction of diesel consumption in the boat's engine are predictable under various operating conditions. The validity of the proposed methodology is verified by comparing simulation results with experimental measurements using statistical inferences.
