  • Owing to the development of wireless infrastructure and mobile communication technology, There is growing interest in smart phone using it. The resulting popularity of smart phone has increased the Mobile Malicious AP-related security threat and the access to the wireless AP(Access Point) using Wi-Fi. mobile AP mechanism is the use of a mobile device with Internet access such as 3G cellular service to serve as an Internet gateway or access point for other devices. Within the enterprise, the use of mobile AP mechanism made corporate information management difficult owing to use wireless system that is impossible to wire packet monitoring. In this thesis, we propose mobile AP mechanism-based mobile malicious AP detection and prevention mechanism in radius authentication server network. Detection approach detects mobile AP mechanism-based mobile malicious AP by sniffing the beacon frame and analyzing the difference between an authorized AP and a mobile AP mechanism-based mobile malicious AP detection.

  • In this paper, we designed the authentication system for home network service and applied it to actual sensor nodes. The pair-wise pre-distribution key skim is applied for prevention of authentication key from sniffing on the wireless sensor networks. The authentication key and data are encrypted by using the CBC mode RC5 algorithm based on the SPINS. The experimental environment consists of a base station (BS)and sensor nodes and each sensor node sends both sensing data and the encrypted authentication key to the BS. For simulations we set up some what-if scenarios of security menaces in home network service.Slightly modified the TOS_Msg data arrays of TinyOS is suggested to store 8-byte authentication key which can enable data encryption and authentication at the each sensor node. As a result, malfunction caused by communication between BS and nodes of other groups of added nodes having malicious purpose can be protected. Also, we confirmed that a critical data of home networking service like vital signal can be transmitted securely through this system by encryption technique.

  • Most of banks in Korea provide smartphone banking services. To use the banking service, public key certificates with private keys, which are stored in personal computers, should be installed in smartphones. Many banks provides intermediate servers that relay certificates to smartphones over the Internet, because the transferring certificates via USB cable is inconvenient. In this paper, we analyze the certificate transfer protocol between personal computer and smartphone, and consider a possible attack based on the results of the analysis. We were successfully able to extract a public key certificate and password-protected private key from encrypted data packets. In addition, we discuss several solutions to transfer public key certificates from personal computers to smartphones safely.

  • Internet messenger applications are utilized not only by individuals but also in corporate environments since it provides many convenient functions such as email, chatting and SMS services. However convenient they may be, current messenger applications have revealed a great deal of security problems. For instance, the existing Nate-on messenger is exposed to internal threats since it stores sensitive information in the database of its server and transmits communication data through the network without any safety measures intact. In order to solve such problematic issues of existing messenger applications, we propose the following protocol.

  • Connection hijacking attack using the vulnerability of the TCP protocol to redirect TCP stream goes through your machine actively (Active Attack). The SKEY such as one-time password protection mechanisms that are provided by a ticket-based authentication system such as Kerberos or redirection, the attacker can bypass.Someone TCP connection if you have access on TCP packet sniffer or packet generator is very vulnerable. Sniffer to defend against attacks such as one-time passwords and token-based authentication and user identification scheme has been used. Active protection, but these methods does not sign or encrypt the data stream from sniffing passwords over insecure networks, they are still vulnerable from attacks. For many people, an active attack is very difficult and so I think the threat is low, but here to help break the illusion successful intrusion on the UNIX host, a very aggressive attack is presented. The tools available on the Internet that attempt to exploit this vulnerability, known as the recent theoretical measures is required. In this paper, we propose analysis techniques on a wireless network intruder detection.

  • The enormous prevalence of transferring official confidential digital documents via the Internet shows the urgent need to deliver confidential messages to the recipient without letting any unauthorized person to know contents of the secret messages or detect there existence . Several Steganography techniques such as the least significant Bit (LSB), Secure Cover Selection (SCS), Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and Palette Based (PB) were applied to prevent any intruder from analyzing and getting the secret transferred message. The utilized steganography methods should defiance the challenges of Steganalysis techniques in term of analysis and detection. This paper presents a novel and robust framework for color image steganography that combines Linear Congruential Generator (LCG), simulated annealing (SA), Cesar cryptography and LSB substitution method in one system in order to reduce the objection of Steganalysis and deliver data securely to their destination. SA with the support of LCG finds out the optimal minimum sniffing path inside a cover color image (RGB) then the confidential message will be encrypt and embedded within the RGB image path as a host medium by using Cesar and LSB procedures. Embedding and extraction processes of secret message require a common knowledge between sender and receiver; that knowledge are represented by SA initialization parameters, LCG seed, Cesar key agreement and secret message length. Steganalysis intruder will not understand or detect the secret message inside the host image without the correct knowledge about the manipulation process. The constructed system satisfies the main requirements of image steganography in term of robustness against confidential message extraction, high quality visual appearance, little mean square error (MSE) and high peak signal noise ratio (PSNR).

  • A robot must be able to generate various skills to achieve given tasks intelligently and reasonably. The robot must first learn affordances to generate the skills. An affordance is defined as qualities of objects or environments that induce actions. Affordances can be usefully used to generate skills. Most tasks require sequential and goal-oriented behaviors. However, it is usually difficult to accomplish such tasks with affordances alone. To accomplish such tasks, a skill is constructed with an affordance and a soft behavioral motivation switch for reflecting goal-oriented elements. A skill calculates a behavioral motivation as a combination of both presently perceived information and goal-oriented elements. Here, a behavioral motivation is the internal condition that activates a goal-oriented behavior. In addition, a robot must be able to execute sequential behaviors. We construct skill networks by using generated skills that make action selection feasible to accomplish a task. A robot can select sequential and a goal-oriented behaviors using the skill network. For this, we will first propose a method for modeling and learning Bayesian networks that are used to generate affordances. To select sequential and goal-oriented behaviors, we construct skills using affordances and soft behavioral motivation switches. We also propose a method to generate the skill networks using the skills to execute given tasks. Finally, we will propose action-selection-mechanism to select sequential and goal-oriented behaviors using the skill network. To demonstrate the validity of our proposed methods, "Searching-for-a-target-object", "Approaching-a-target-object", "Sniffing-a-target-object", and "Kicking-a-target-object" affordances have been learned with GENIBO (pet robot) based on the human teaching method. Some experiments have also been performed with GENIBO using the skills and the skill networks.

  • Login process uses both ID and password information to authenticate someone and to permit its access privilege on system. However, an attacker can get those ID and password information by using existing packet sniffing or key logger programs. It cause privacy problem as those information can be used as a hacking and network attack on web server and web e-mail system. Therefore, a more secure and advanced authentication mechanism should be required to enhance the authentication process on existing system. In this paper, we propose a multi-factor authentication process by using software form of secure card system combined with existing ID/Password based login system. Proposed mechanism uses a random number generated from the his/her own handset with biometric information. Therefore, we can provide a one-time password function on web login system to authenticate the user using multi-factor form. Proposed scheme provide enhanced authentication function and security because it is a 'multi-factor authentication mechanism' combined with handset and biometric information on web login system.

  • In recent years, with the development of devices to collect multimedia data such as small CMOS camera sensor and micro phone, studies on wireless multimedia sensor network technologies and their applications that extend the existing wireless sensor network technologies have been actively done. In such applications, various basic schemes such as the processing, storage, and transmission of multimedia data are required. Especially, a security for real world environments is essential. In this paper, in order to defend the sniffing attack in various hacking techniques, we propose a multipath routing scheme for physically avoiding the data transmission path from the risk factors. Our proposed scheme establishes the DEFCON of the sensor nodes that are geographically close to risk factors and the priorities according to the importance of the data. Our proposed scheme performs risk factor detour multipath routing through a safe path considering the DEFCON and data priority. Our experimental results show that although our proposed scheme takes the transmission delay time by about 5% over the existing scheme, it reduces the eavesdropping rate that can attack and intercept data by the risk factor by about 18%.
