  • This paper considers a ring loading problem on RPR(Resilient Packet Ring), where RPR is recommended by IEEE802.17 Resilient Packet Ring working group for data optimized networks without the requirements of provisioning circuits. RPR is well suitable for metropolitan area network with two counter-rotating rings that multiple stations share the bandwidth, where the data and its corresponding control traffic is transmitted to the two opposite directional ring, respectively. One of the major concerns on RPR is to provide fairness among traffic requirements. The paper discusses several fairness measures and analysis ring loading problems for the fairness.

  • For several ten years, the Internet and IT services have been greatly developed in PC area and with this, new BM and services with terminals like Post-PC and Non-PC types will come into the spotlight in few years. In various fields of service, terminals exclusive to individual service come into the market already, the hardware and the contents used in the terminals are circulating. The communication service providers are very enthusiastic about developing and providing various services in order to overcome the growth limit of existing network connection service. And they think that providing the Non-PC type Information Appliance services will make added values and be sources of making profits in next generation. Hereupon we are going to observe the Non-PC type Information Appliance services, the structure of the service platform that make that services possible, and their prospect.

  • Human history show the whole society changed rapidly and found that the momentum and foundation of such change is " the advanced technology ",which is, the advanced knowledge. The world is newly established based upon openess, spaclalization and globalization, and the each nation and company should have to adopt all the existing frames to follow the new world reality. Today is the changing period from industrial society to information society, and information technology plays a great role. As the information society moves ahead, world economy and social infrastructure will be based upon network society and various information systems will make an integrated information system. This paper presents that to establish interior design related information in the age of information with radical change of previous way of thinking, cooperative information exchange system. Also substantial and effective communication systems should be made and continuing cooperation system of interior design information area should be formulated.d be formulated.

  • WBAN(Wireless body area network)에서 사용되는 저 출력 센서 디바이스는 상당한 패킷 손실률을 발생시키며 데이터의 신뢰성을 떨어뜨리는 원인이 된다. 기존의 IEEE 802.15.4 MAC 프로토콜은 데이터 오류 발생 시 수신한 전체 데이터를 재전송하기 때문에 불필요한 에너지 소모와 오버헤드가 발생된다. 특히 WBAN 환경에서 인체 내부에 이식되는 디바이스의 경우 배터리 교체의 어려움과 초 저전력을 요구하기 때문에 노드의 수명 유지를 위해 사용되는 전력 소모량도 중대한 문제가 되고 있으며, 전체 데이터를 재전송하는 기존의 방식에서 발생하는 에너지 소모는 노드의 수명을 단축시키는 원인이 된다. 본 논문에서는 저전력과 신뢰성을 요구하는 WBAN 환경에서 수신 오류율 변화에 따른 데이터 동적 블록화 기법을 사용하여 재전송 데이터의 크기를 줄인다.

  • Recently Venture business in the area of information and communication industry is booming. Though Technology classification chart helps the potential entrepreneur through Survey paper and Internet Web Page, its service does not meet the customer demand. Hence Technology Classification system, which is proposed in this paper, will solve this problem by using virtual network among venture, technology experts and potential entrepreneurs. This system supports potential entrepreneurs' decision making for choice of venture business items by using dual client technology, and provides better services than existing systems by linking expert client and customer client, .

Rectangular Ring Open-Ended Monopole Antenna with Inverted L-Strip for WLAN Dual-Band Operations

  • A novel design for a simple rectangular ring with open-ended monopole antenna wireless local area network (WLAN) applications is proposed in this article. The proposed antenna consists of an open-ended rectangular ring, an inverted L-strip, and a rectangular slit in the ground plane, and is fed by a 50 ${\Omega}$ microstrip feed-line. Prototypes of the proposed antenna were designed, fabricated, and tested. Experimental results show that the proposed antenna receives 2.3125-2.775 GHz and 4.8625-6.7125 GHz with a return loss less than -10 dB, covering the required bandwidths of the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN standards. Meanwhile, the 2D radiation patterns and 3D gain performance of the antenna in the operation bands were also observed and discussed.

  • In this paper, the requirement specification of the LAN which will be used in the New Directory Assistance System is outlined. And phisical design of the LAN using the repeater/bridge, which is used for communication efficiency and reliability and logical design using the LAT/DECnet are described. Finally a method for load balancing between CPUs is proposed.

  • 본 논문에서는 Motorola사의 MPC555마이크로프로세서를 탑재하여 개발한 제어보드가 소개된다. 이 보드를 사용하여 하이브리드 전기자동차의 발전기를 제어하는 실험을 수행하였다. MFC555는 전력시스템 제어에 필요한 다양한 입출력 장치를 내장하고 있어서 통합제어를 위한 one-chip solution을 가능하게 해 준다. MPC555는 내부 플래시 메모리가 비교적 대용량(448kbytes)이고 부동 소수점 연산이 가능하다. 또한 A/D 채널이 32개이고 SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface) 모듈 1개, SCI(Serial Communication Interface) 모듈 2개, CAN(Contol Area Network) 모듈 2개 등의 다양한 통신채널을 내장하고 있다. MPC555는 TPU(Time Processing Unit) 채널 32개로 다양한 timing function을 구현할 수 있게 해 준다. 개발된 제어 보드를 이용하여 하이브리드 전기자동차의 유도발전기 시스템에 대한 축소 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

  • 자동화 컨테이너터미널은 ATC(Automated Transfer Crane)와 AGV(Automated Guided Vehicle)와 같은 자동화 운송 장비를 사용하는 컨테이너터미널이다. 이러한 자동화 컨테이너터미널의 핵심은 생산성을 향상시키기 위한 효율적인 장비 운영이 결정적인 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 AGV의 이동 위치 결정을 위한 RTK-GPS(Real Time Kinematic-Global Positioning System) 위치 정보 전송 및 운용 방법에 대해서 연구하였다. 이를 위해서 기존의 무선모뎀을 이용한 RTK-GPS 전송 방법을 무선 LAN(Local Area Network) 환경에서 RTK-GPS 위치 정보 전송 방법에 대해서 제안하고, AGV 이동 위치 결정 및 계산을 실험하였다.

  • The rapid growth of air conditioning load has become a main reason of peak load increase in summer. In connection with this, we surveyed the load management projects of utilities world wide and their detailed activities. This study is to develop a remote load control system using computer and radio communications. We finished the field-test of this system on August 1995 in Seoul area. During the field-test, the remote load control of air conditioners was proved to be well-timed. Two control modes, group control and all control, are available for the user to select. The transmission reliability of the load control signal was very good and the functions of system hardware as well as the software were excellent. So we confirmed the applicability of the load control system including the pager communication network. In this paper, detailed information on the system functions and experimental results are described.
