A mobile terminal will expect a number of handoffs within its call duration. In the event of a mobile call, when a mobile node moves from one cell to another, it should connect to another access point within its range. In case there is a lack of support of its own network, it must changeover to another base station. In the event of moving on to another network, quality of service parameters need to be considered. In our study we have used the Markov decision process approach for a seamless handoff as it gives the optimum results for selecting a network when compared to other multiple attribute decision making processes. We have used the network cost function for selecting the network for handoff and the connection reward function, which is based on the values of the quality of service parameters. We have also examined the constant bit rate and transmission control protocol packet delivery ratio. We used the policy iteration algorithm for determining the optimal policy. Our enhanced handoff algorithm outperforms other previous multiple attribute decision making methods.
There have been many researches that uses neural network models for automatic speech recognition, but the main trend was finding the neural network models and learning rules appropriate to automatic speech recognition. However, the choice of the input speech parameter for the neural network as well as neural network model itself is a very important factor for the improvement of performance of the automatic speech recognition system using neural network. In this paper we select 6 speech parameters from surveys of the speech recognition papers which uses neural networks, and analyze the performance for the same data and the same neural network model. We use 8 sets of 9 Korean plosives and 18 sets of 8 Korean vowels. We use recurrent neural network and compare the performance of the 6 speech parameters while the number of nodes is constant. The delta cepstrum of linear predictive coefficients showed best result and the recognition rates are 95.1% for the vowels and 100.0% for plosives.

ZnO deposition parameters are not independent and have a nonlinear and complex property. To propose a method that could verify and predict the relations of process variables, neural network was used. At first, ZnO thin films were deposited by using RF magnetron sputtering process with various conditions. Si, GaAs, and Glass were used as substrates. The temperature, work pressure, and RF power of the substrate were $50\sim500^{\circ}C$, 15 mTorr, and $180\sim210W$, respectively : the purity of the target was ZnO 4 N. Structural properties of ZnO thin films were estimated by using XRD (0002) peak intensity. The structure of neural network was a form of 4-7-1 that have one hidden layer. In training a network, learning rate and momentum were selected as 0.2, 0.6 respectively. A backpropagation neural network were performed with XRD (0002) peak data. After training a network, the temperature of substrate was evaluated as the most important parameter by sensitivity analysis and response surface. As a result, neural network could capture nonlinear and complex relationships between process parameters and predict structural properties of ZnO thin films with a limited set of experiments.
Wireless Mesh Networks aim to attain large connectivity with minimum performance degradation, as network size is increase. As such, scalability is one of the main characteristics of Wireless Mesh Networks that differentiates it from other wireless networks. This characteristic creates the need for bandwidth efficiency strategies to ensure that network performance does not degrade as the size of the network increase. Several researches have been done to realize mesh networks. However, the researches conducted were mostly focused on a per TCP/IP layer basis. Also, the studies on bandwidth efficiency and bandwidth improvement are usually dealt with as separate issues. This paper aims to simultaneously study bandwidth efficiency and improvement. Aside from optimizing the bandwidth given a fixed capacity, the capacity is also increased using results of physical layer studies. In this paper, the capacity is improved by using the concept of non-overlapping channels for wireless communication. A channel allocation scheme is conceptualized to choose the transmission channel that would optimize the network performance parameters with consideration of chosen Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Network utility maximization is used to optimize the bandwidth after channel selection. Furthermore, a routing scheme is proposed using the results of the network utilization method and the channel allocation scheme to find the optimal path that would maximize the network gain.

In 1993 the University of Extremadura initiated the design, construction and management of the Radiological Alert Network of Extremadura (RAREx). The goal was to acquire reliable near-real-time information on the environmental radiological status in the surroundings of the Almaraz Nuclear Power Plant by measuring, mainly, the ambient dose equivalent. However, the phased development of this network has been carried out from two points of view. Firstly, there has been an increase in the number of stations comprising the network. Secondly, there has been an increase in the number of monitored parameters. As a consequence of the growth of RAREx network, large data volumes are daily generated. To face this big data paradigm, software applications have been developed and implemented in order to maintain the indispensable real-time and efficient performance of the alert network. In this paper, the description of the current status of RAREx network after 30 years of design and performance is showed. Also, the performance of the graphing software for daily assessment of the registered parameters and the automatic on real time warning notification system, which aid with the decision making process and analysis of values of possible radiological and non-radiological alterations, is briefly described in this paper.
As the social media which was simple communication media is activated on account of twitter and facebook, it's usability and importance are growing recently. Although many companies are making full use of its the capacity of information diffusion for marketing, the adverse effects of this capacity are growing. Because social network is formed and communicates based on friendships and relationships, the spreading speed of the spam and mal-ware is very swift. In this paper, we draw parameters affecting malicious data diffusion in social network environment, and compare and analyze the diffusion capacity of each parameters by propagation experiment with XSS Worm and Koobface Worm. In addition, we discuss the structural characteristics of social network environment and then proposed malicious data propagation model based on parameters affecting information diffusion. n this paper, we made up BA and HK models based on SI model, dynamic model, to conduct the experiments, and as a result of the experiments it was proved that parameters which effect on propagation of XSS Worm and Koobface Worm are clustering coefficient and closeness centrality.

The electrical current generated by heart creates not only electric potential but also a magnetic field. In this study, the signals obtained magnetocardiogram(MCG) using 61 channel superconducting quantum interference device(SQUID) system, and the clinical significance of various feature parameters has been developed MCG. Neural network algorithm was used to perform the classification of ischemic heart disease. The MCG signal was obtained to facilitate the extraction of parameters through a process of pre-processing. The data used to research the normal group 10 and ischemic heart disease group 10 with visible signs of stable angina patients. The available clinical indicators were extracted by characteristic point, characteristic interval parameter, and amplitude ratio parameter. The extracted parameters are determined to analysis the significance and clinical parameters were defined. It is possible to classify ischemic heart disease using the MCG feature parameters as a neural network input.

Accurate and rapid establishment of mobile communication is important in mobile communication system. Currently, the base station parameters to establish a network are determined by cell planning tool. However, it is necessary to perform new cell planning for each new installation of the base station, and there may be a problem that parameters are not suitable for the actual environment are set, such as obstacle information that is not applied in the cell planning tool. In this paper, we proposed methods for path loss prediction using DNN and topographical division using CNN in SON server. After topography classification, a SON server configures the base station parameters according to topography, and update parameters for each topography. The proposed methods can configure the base station parameters automatically that are considered topography information and environmental changes.

When dynamics changes occurred in an existing Bayesian Network (BN), the related parameters embedding on the BN have to be updated to new parameters adapting to changed patterns. In this case, these parameters have to be updated with the consideration of the causalities in the BN. This research suggests a framework for updating parameters dynamically using Expectation Maximization (EM) algorithm and Harmony Search (HS) algorithm among several Meta-Heuristics techniques. While EM is an effective algorithm for estimating hidden parameters, it has a limitation that the generated solution converges a local optimum in usual. In order to overcome the limitation, this paper applies HS for tracking the global optimum values of Maximum Likelihood Estimators (MLE) of parameters. The proposed method suggests a learning and propagation framework of BN with dynamic changes for overcoming disadvantages of EM algorithm and converging a global optimum value of MLE of parameters.

In this paper, a nonlinear structural model updating methodology based on the Deep Belief Network (DBN) is proposed. Firstly, the instantaneous parameters of the vibration responses are obtained by the discrete analytical mode decomposition (DAMD) method and the Hilbert transform (HT). The instantaneous parameters are regarded as the independent variables, and the nonlinear model parameters are considered as the dependent variables. Then the DBN is utilized for approximating the nonlinear mapping relationship between them. At last, the instantaneous parameters of the measured vibration responses are fed into the well-trained DBN. Owing to the strong learning and generalization abilities of the DBN, the updated nonlinear model parameters can be directly estimated. Two nonlinear shear-type structure models under two types of excitation and various noise levels are adopted as numerical simulations to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. The nonlinear properties of the structure model are simulated via the hysteretic parameters of a Bouc-Wen model and a Giuffré-Menegotto-Pinto model, respectively. Besides, the proposed approach is verified by a three-story shear-type frame with a piezoelectric friction damper (PFD). Simulated and experimental results suggest that the nonlinear model updating approach has high computational efficiency and precision.
