Langmuir probe measurements of electron density and electron temperature in early stage of laser-produced carbon plasma

  • Langmuir probe measurements of electron density, electron temperature and potential are mad in the early stage (<5${\mu}$s) of a laser ablated plasma plume, in which a positive current form positive ions and a electron current are overlapped. The plasma wes produced by focusing the second harmonic, 532 nm, of Q-switched Nd:YAG laser on a high purity carbon target. Then the laser intensity on the target of ~1.6${\times}$10$\^$15/ W/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The measured electron desities and temperatures are ~2${\times}$10/sip 11/ cm$\^$-3/ and -3 eV. In particluar , the phenomenon that the electron temperature decreased and then increased was observed,. It could be well explained that this phenomenon occurred in the process of inverse Bremsstrahlung of free electrons in plasma. Additionally, the plasma potential(>11V) was higher than the published values.

Examination of the Impact of Blood Groups on Group Participation

  • Could blood type provide a key to wellness and even affect our personality? The theory that blood type is linked to personality (and other mental and physical qualities) is popular mainly in Japan, though it has carried over to Taiwan and South Korea. The present study is the result of a scientific research in which the relationship between two important variables, namely blood group a nd group participation, are determined in the research framework. Based on some collected data from manufacturing firms which are accepted firms in Tehran Stock Exchange, and through cluster sampling a sample was selected. 380 questionnaires were distributed to the personnel of production line, of the firms then the reliability and validity of the questionnaires through independence test and average ratio comparison of the two population were examined, and through Pearson's chi-square formula, the relationship between blood group (independent variable) and group participation (dependent variable) were tested, then through Schuprow coefficient, the prioritization of blood groups over group participation was identified and the following results were obtained: people group participation is affected by their personality features which is derived from their temperament, mood, and characteristics. The study also showed that people blood groups has an effect on their group cooperation, and among blood groups, blood group A has the greatest tendency to group participation and then blood group O, AB, B are prioritized respectively.

고성능 투명박막트랜지스터 Source/Drain용 AZO박막 특성연구

  • 박막트랜지스터의 전극으로 Au, Ag, Mo, ITO와 같은 물질들이 이미 많이 연구되어 왔으며, 투명 Source/Drain 전극을 활용한 물질로는 ITO에 초점이 맞춰져 왔다. 하지만 ITO의 높은 가격과 Indium의 인체 유해한 독성 때문에 ITO를 대체하는 물질에 대해 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 그 중 Al이 도핑된 ZnO (AZO) 는 가시광 영역에서 85% 이상의 높은 투과율과 높은 전도성, 낮은 비저항으로 다양한 광전소자의 전극과 윈도우 물질로 많은 응용 가능성을 보여주고 있다. 본 실험에서는 고 품질의 박막성장이 가능하고, 박막의 두께를 세밀하게 조절할 수 있는 Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) 을 이용하여 온도변화에 따라 AZO 박막을 성장시키고 구조적, 전기적, 광학적 특성을 조사하였다. 또한 온도변화가 AZO 박막 특성에 미치는 영향을 분석하여 Source/Drain 전극으로 사용하기 위한 조건을 최적화하였고, 실제 투명박막트랜지스터 제작을 통해 소자의 I-V Curve 와 Transfer 특성을 확인하고, Transfer Length Method 방법을 이용하여 투명박막트랜지스터의 접촉저항, 채널 비저항 등을 확인해 보았다. 소결된 타겟으로는 99.99%의 순도를 갖는 ZnO-$Al_2O_3$ (98:2 wt%) 타겟을 이용하였으며, 장비조건으로는 355 nm의 파장대역을 갖는 Nd:YAG 레이저를 사용하였고, 실험변수로는 온도범위 RT, $200^{\circ}C$, $400^{\circ}C$, $600^{\circ}C$에서 실험을 진행하였다. AZO 박막의 구조적, 전기적 특성을 분석하기 위해 각각 X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Hall measurement 장비를 사용하였으며, 광학적 특성을 분석하기 위한 투과도의 측정은 UV-Visible spectrophotometer 장비를 사용하였다.

In Situ Spectroscopy in Condensed Matter Physics

  • Recently, many state-of-art spectroscopy techniques are used to unravel the mysteries of condensed matters. And numerous heterostructures have provided a new avenue to search for new emergent phenomena. Especially, near the interface, various forms of symmetry-breaking can appear, which induces many novel phenomena. Although these intriguing phenomena can be emerged at the interface, by using conventional measurement techniques, the experimental investigations have been limited due to the buried nature of interface. One of the ways to overcome this limitation is in situ investigation of the layer-by-layer evolution of the electronic structure with increasing of the thickness. Namely, with very thin layer, we can measure the electronic structure strongly affected by the interface effect, but with thick layer, the bulk property becomes strong. Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) is powerful tool to directly obtain electronic structure, and it is very surface sensitive. Thus, the layer-by-layer evolution of the electronic structure in oxide heterostructure can be investigated by using in situ ARPES. LaNiO3 (LNO) heterostructures have recently attracted much attention due to theoretical predictions for many intriguing quantum phenomena. The theories suggest that, by tuning external parameters such as misfit strain and dimensionality in LNO heterostructure, the latent orders, which is absent in bulk, including charge disproportionation, spin-density-wave order and Mott insulator, could be emerged in LNO heterostructure. Here, we performed in situ ARPES studies on LNO films with varying the misfit strain and thickness. (1) By using LaAlO3 (-1.3%), NdGaO3 (+0.3%), and SrTiO3 (+1.7%) substrates, we could obtain LNO films under compressive strain, nearly strain-free, and tensile strain, respectively. As strain state changes from compressive to tensile, the Ni eg bands are rearranged and cross the Fermi level, which induces a change of Fermi surface (FS) topology. Additionally, two different FS superstructures are observed depending on strain states, which are attributed to signatures of latent charge and spin orderings in LNO films. (2) We also deposited LNO ultrathin films under tensile strain with thickness between 1 and 10 unit-cells. We found that the Fermi surface nesting effect becomes strong in two-dimensions and significantly enhances spin-density-wave order. The further details are discussed more in presentation. 한우 종모우의 고환둘레와 정액 생산 및 후대의 성장${\cdot}$도체형질과의 관계 (Relationships of Scrotal Circumference of Hanwoo Sire to Semen Production and Performance, Carcass Traits of Offspring)

  • 한우 종모우의 고환둘레와 정액성상 그리고 후대희 성장 및 도체성적과의 관계를 구명하기 위하여 4~8세 한우 종무우 92두를 공시하였으며 8,628개의 종모우 정액성상 그리고 종모우 후대 814e의 성장 및 도체성적을 이용하였다. 종모우의 고환둘레는 38.7${\pm}$3.73 cm, 1차 정액량, 정자농도 및 총정자수는 각각 5.63mL, 17.9${\times}10^8$/mL 및 100.34${\times}10^8$/ejaculation 이었고 2차 정액량, 정자농도, 및 총정자수는 각각 5.32mL, 15.0${\times}10^8$/mL 79.4${\times}10^8$/ejaculation 이었다. 고환둘레는 정액량(1st : ${\gamma}$=0.27, P<0.05 ; 2nd : ${\gamma}$ = 0.19, P < 0.10), 정자농도(1st : ${\gamma}$=0.21, P<0.05 ; 2nd : ${\gamma}$ = 0.28, P < 0.01)와 정의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 종모우 후대들의 생체중은 6, 12, 18, 그리고 22개월령에 각각 49.2, 281.1, 436.3 그리고 534.4kg 이었고 일당증체량은 0.81 kg/day이었다. 그리고 도체중, 배최장근단면적, 등지방두께, 그리고 근내지방도는 각각 313.8 kg, 77.9 cm, 0.62 cm and 2.47 이었다. 종모우의 고환둘레가 클수록 후대들의 6(${\gamma}$=0.08, P<0.10), 12(${\gamma}$=0.18, P<0.10), P<0.10), 18(${\gamma}$=0.21, P<0.10), 22개월령(${\gamma}$=0.20, P<0.10)의 생체중, 일당증체량(${\gamma}$=0.25, P<0.05) 그리고 배최장 근단면적(${\gamma}$=0.19, P<0.10)이 높은 경향을 보였다. 그러나 종모우의 고환둘레와 후대들의 근내지방도 및 등지방두께와는 뚜렷한 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 본 연구의 결과는 종모우의 고환둘레와 정액성상 그리고 후대들의 성장률과 긍정적인 관계가 있는 경향을 보였지만 추가적인 연구가 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

HMC05의 경구투여 소핵시험 및 복귀돌연변이 시험 (Micronucleus Test in Bone Marrow Cells and Bacterial Reverse Mutation Assay of HMC05)

  • Objectives : We investigated genetic toxicity of HMCO5 using the Micronucleus Test in bone marrow cells of mice and Bacterial Reverse Mutation Assay in plate incorporation method according to OECD Guidelines and KFDA Guidelines. Methods : 1. Micronucleus test: The male rats were divided into 5 groups, respectively; G(1), treated with distilled water: G(2), treated with 1250mg/kg HMC05: G(3), treated with 2500mg/kg HMC05, G(4), treated with 5,000mg/kg HMC05; G(5), treated with Cyclophosphamide $H_2O$. Sterilized distilled water and HMC05 were administered for two consecutive days. Cyclophosphamide $H_2O$ was administered once on the day of 2nd administration. 2. Bacterial Reverse Mutation Aassay: Experimental groups were divided into two groups: with S-9mix(+S) or without S-9mix(-S). Each group treated with sterilized distilled water only, HMCO5(62, 185, 556, 1,667, $5,000{\mu}g$/plate) and, positive vehicles(Sodium azide, 2-Aminoanthracene, 4-Nitroquinoline N-oxide, ICR 191), respectively. Results : HMC05 did not show any changes in the number of micronucleated polychromatic erythrocytes(MNPCE) among 200 polychromatic erythrocytes compare to negative control. However, there were significant (p<0.01) increase with CPA in MNPCE. In Bacterial Reverse Mutation Aassay, no significant increases in the number of revertant colonies compared to (삭제) negative control were detected in all concentrations of HMC05. Conclusions : These results indicate that HMC05 did not show any genotoxicity against in Micronucleus test and Bacterial Reverse Mutation Aassay.

한국산 주혈류의 염색체에 관한 연구(2) (Studies on the Chromosomes of Orthotera in Korea (2))

  • Concluding the result of this observation, authors obtained the table showing chromosome numbers which are consisted in each species as follow. Viewing on this result, authors recognized Acrididae are determined the sex with X-O type. 6 species of Family Acrididae and one species of Family Gryllotalpidae (on above table) had already calculated the number of chromosomes by some foreign observers. But another one species (Briodema tuberculatum dilatum STOLL) clarified by authors firstly in this observation. In 2nd spermatocyte of Trilophidia annulata YHUMBERG 1 to 3 Ist constriction satellites were observed, and each of the small bodies was connected with thin fibre and constituted with same or less breadth as the main chromosomes. If those are not the satellites, they should be the super-numerary chromosomes appearing a dot form. In this observation, among 48 species of Family Acrididae which have been found in Korea 18 species were calculated their chromosome numbers which were including 1 species calculated by authors newly. And authors have reobserved the chromosomes of Gryllotalpa africana PALISOT de BEUVOIS of Family Gryllotalpidae which was done by Japanese before.

경상분지 북부에 분포하는 온정리 화강암에 대한 암석화학적, 동위원소 지구화학적 연구 : 경상분지 다른 지역과 서남 일본 내대에 분포하는 백악기-제 3기 화강암류와의 비교 고찰 (Geochemical and Isotopic Study of the Onjeongri Granite in the Northern Gyeongsang Basin, Korea : Comparison with Cretaceous to Tertiary Granitic Rocks in the Other Part of the Gyeongsang Basin and the Inner Zone of Southwest Japan)

  • 경상분지 북부에 위치한 온정리 화강암의 암석화학적, 동위원소 지구화학적 특징으로부터 암체의 성인과 기원물질의 특징 등을 고찰하였다. 온정리 화강암의 연대에 대해 선백악기, 또는 백악기라는 상반된 견해가 있었으나 야외지질학적인 특징과 K-Ar 자료로 볼 때 백악기 말(87 Ma 내외)로 판단된다. 각섬석 지압계를 적용시켜 보았을 때 온정리 화강암의 정치 압력은 2 kbar 이하로 계산된다. 온정리 화강암의 암석화학적, 동위원소적 특징은 비교적 미 성숙된 호 환경에서 생성되었음을 지시한다. 온정리 화강암의 $SiO_2$ 함량과 $^{87}Sr/^{86}Sr$ 초기치는 부(-)의 직선관계를 잘 보이며 $^{207}Pb/^{204}Pb$ 초기치는 정(+)의 상관관계를 보여 두 단성분 사이의 불완전한 혼합, 또는 동화작용의 가능성을 지시한다. 그러나 현재 노출되어 있는 암체 중 오염체로 고려할 만한 단성분을 찾기는 어려우며 따라서 혼합이나 동화 작용을 일으킨 오염체가 하부지각에 위치할 가능성이 높다. 경상분지 내에 분포하는 백악기-제 3기 화강암의 연대와 지화학적, 동위원소적 특징을 정리하고 온정리 화강암의 특징과 비교해 보면 다음과 같은 결론이 얻어진다. 1) 화강암류의 연대는 특정 시기에 집중되는 경향성을 보여 경상 분지에서의 백악기 이후 화성 활동이 불연속적인 사건에 의해 일어났을 가능성이 높다. 2) 화강암류는 젊은(9억년 이내) 하부지각에서 유래되었으며 그 동위원소적 특징은 기원물질의 불균질성을 반영한다고 보아진다. 전반적으로 경상분지 화강암류의 동위원소적 특징과 화학조성은 상부지각 혼염에 의해 조화적으로 설명되지 않는다. 3) 경상분지 화강암류의 암상과 연대, 그리고 동위원소적 특징은 서남 일본 산인 벨트에 분포하는 화강암의 특징과 잘 일치한다. 4) 온정리 화강암의 Sr-Nd 동위원소비는 경상분지와 서남일본 내대에 분포하는 백악기 이후 암체 중 비교적 초생적인 영역에 해당된다.

Complete Mitochondrial Genome Sequences of Chinese Indigenous Sheep with Different Tail Types and an Analysis of Phylogenetic Evolution in Domestic Sheep

  • China has a long history of sheep (Ovis aries [O. aries]) breeding and an abundance of sheep genetic resources. Knowledge of the complete O. aries mitogenome should facilitate the study of the evolutionary history of the species. Therefore, the complete mitogenome of O. aries was sequenced and annotated. In order to characterize the mitogenomes of 3 Chinese sheep breeds (Altay sheep [AL], Shandong large-tailed sheep [SD], and small-tailed Hulun Buir sheep [sHL]), 19 sets of primers were employed to amplify contiguous, overlapping segments of the complete mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequence of each breed. The sizes of the complete mitochondrial genomes of the sHL, AL, and SD breeds were 16,617 bp, 16,613 bp, and 16,613 bp, respectively. The mitochondrial genomes were deposited in the GenBank database with accession numbers KP702285 (AL sheep), KP981378 (SD sheep), and KP981380 (sHL sheep) respectively. The organization of the 3 analyzed sheep mitochondrial genomes was similar, with each consisting of 22 tRNA genes, 2 rRNA genes (12S rRNA and 16S rRNA), 13 protein-coding genes, and 1 control region (D-loop). The NADH dehydrogenase subunit 6 (ND6) and 8 tRNA genes were encoded on the light strand, whereas the rest of the mitochondrial genes were encoded on the heavy strand. The nucleotide skewness of the coding strands of the 3 analyzed mitogenomes was biased toward A and T. We constructed a phylogenetic tree using the complete mitogenomes of each type of sheep to allow us to understand the genetic relationships between Chinese breeds of O. aries and those developed and utilized in other countries. Our findings provide important information regarding the O. aries mitogenome and the evolutionary history of O. aries inside and outside China. In addition, our results provide a foundation for further exploration of the taxonomic status of O. aries.

DIAGNOSTICS OF PLASMA INDUCED IN Nd:YAG LASER WELDING OF ALUMINUM ALLOY

  • The dynamic behavior of Al-Mg alloys plasma was very unstable and this instability was closely related to the unstable motion of keyhole during laser irradiation. The keyhole fluctuated both in size and shape and its fluctuation period was about 440 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. This instability has been estimated to be caused by the evaporation phenomena of metals with different boiling point and latent heats of vaporization. Therefore, the authors have conducted the spectroscopic diagnostics of plasma induced in the pulsed YAG laser welding of Al-Mg alloys in air and argon atmospheres. In the air environment, the identified spectra were atomic lines of Al, Mg, Cr, Mn, Cu, Fe and Zn, and singly ionized Mg line, as well as strong molecular spectrum of AlO, MgO and AIH. It was confirmed that the resonant lines of Al and Mg were strongly self-absorbed, in particular in the vicinity of pool surface. The self-absorption of atomic Mg line was more eminent in alloys containing higher Mg. These facts showed that the laser-induced plasma was relatively a low temperature and high density metallic vapor. The intensities of molecular spectra of AlO and MgO were different each other depending on the power density of laser beam. Under the low power density irradiation condition, the MgO band spectra were predominant in intensity, while the AlO spectra became much stronger in higher power density. In argon atmosphere the band spectra of MgO and AlO completely vanished, but AlH molecular spectra was detected clearly. The hydrogen source was presumably the hydrogen solved in the base Metal, absorbed water on the surface oxide layer or H$_2$ and $H_2O$ in the shielding gas. The temporal change in spectral line intensities was quite similar to the fluctuation of keyhole. The time average plasma temperature at 1 mm high above the surface of A5083 alloy was determined by the Boltzmann plot method of atomic Cr lines of different excitation energy. The obtained electron temperature was 3, 280$\pm$150 K which was about 500 K higher than the boiling point of pure aluminum. The electron number density was determined by measuring the relative intensities of the spectra1lines of atomic and singly ionized Magnesium, and the obtained value was 1.85 x 1019 1/㎥.
