The rotating inner cylinder executes a periodic translational motion in concentric annulus while the outer one is stationary. In the study of flow-induced vibrations and relaxed instabilities, it is of interest to evaluate the fluid-dynamic forces acting on the rotating inner cylinder. In the present work, the governing equations for the confined flow are expressed as Navier-Stokes equations, including the steady and unsteady terms. The fluid parameters for steady flow generated by the rotating cylinder are determined analytically while the unsteady ones by the oscillatory motion are evaluates by a numerical method based on the spectral collocation method. In order to validate the numerical approach, the numerical results are compared wish the analytical ones given by existing theories, for simple cases where the both approaches are applicable. Good agreement was found between the results. It is found the effects of the Reynolds number, defined by rotating velocity, on the fluid-dynamic forces are important for the case of relatively low oscillatory Reynolds number, defined by oscillatory frequency : j.e., in case of $Re_\omega\gg Re_S$.
In this study, nonlinear vibrations and dynamic instabilities of a smart embedded micro shell conveying varied fluid flow and subjected to the combined electro-thermo-mechanical loadings are investigated. With the aim of designing new hydraulic sensors and actuators, the piezoelectric materials are employed for the body and the effects of applying electric field on the stability of the system as well as the induced voltage due to the dynamic behavior of the system are studied. The nonlocal piezoelasticity theory and the nonlinear cylindrical shell model in conjunction with the energy approach are utilized to mathematically modeling of the structure. The fluid flow is assumed to be isentropic, incompressible and fully develop, and for more generality of the problem both steady and time dependent flow regimes are considered. The mathematical modeling of fluid flow is also carried out based on a scalar potential function, time mean Navier-Stokes equations and the theory of slip boundary condition. Employing the modified Lagrange equations for open systems, the nonlinear coupled governing equations of motion are achieved and solved via the state space problem; forth order numerical integration and Bolotin's method. In the numerical results, a comprehensive discussion is made on the dynamical instabilities of the system (such as divergence, flutter and parametric resonance). We found that applying positive electric potential field will improve the stability of the system as an actuator or vibration amplitude controller in the micro electro mechanical systems.
The present study deals with a mathematical model describing the dynamic response of heat and mass transfer in blood flow through bifurcated arteries under stenotic condition. The geometry of the bifurcated arterial segment possessing constrictions in both the parent and the daughter arterial lumen frequently appearing in the diseased arteries causing malfunction of the cardiovascular system, is formulated mathematically with the introduction of the suitable curvatures at the lateral junction and the flow divider. The blood flowing through the artery is treated to be Newtonian. The nonlinear unsteady flow phenomena is governed by the Navier-Stokes equations while those of heat and mass transfer are controlled by the heat conduction and the convection-diffusion equations respectively. All these equations together with the appropriate boundary conditions describing the present biomechanical problem following the radial coordinate transformation are solved numerically by adopting finite difference technique. The respective profiles of the flow field, the temperature and the concentration and their distributions as well are obtained. The influences of the stenosis, the arterial wall motion and the unsteady behaviour of the system in terms of the heat and mass transfer on the blood stream in the entire arterial segment are highlighted through several plots presented at the end of the paper in order to illustrate the applicability of the present model under study.
In this paper, static and vibration analysis for anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle- ply carbon/glass hybrid laminates rectangular composite plate are presented. In this analysis, the equations of motion for simply supported thick laminated hybrid rectangular plates are derived and obtained through the use of Hamilton's principle. The closed-form solutions of anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle- ply laminates are obtained using Navier solution. The effects of side-to-thickness ratio, aspect ratio, and lamination schemes on the fundamental frequencies loads are investigated. The study concludes that shear deformation laminate theories accurately predict the behavior of composite laminates, whereas the classical laminate theory over predicts natural frequencies. The excellent accuracy of the present analytical solution is confirmed by making some comparisons of the present results with those available in the literature. It can be concluded that the proposed theory is accurate and simple in solving the free vibration behaviors of anti-symmetric cross-ply and angle- ply hybrid laminated composite plates.

The free and live load-forced vibration behaviour of porous functionally graded (PFG) higher order nanobeams in the thermal and magnetic fields is investigated comprehensively through this work in the framework of nonlocal strain gradient theory (NLSGT). The porosity effects on the dynamic behaviour of FG nanobeams is investigated using four different porosity distribution models. These models are exploited; uniform, symmetrical, condensed upward, and condensed downward distributions. The material characteristics gradation in the thickness direction is estimated using the power-law. The magnetic field effect is incorporated using Maxwell's equations. The third order shear deformation beam theory is adopted to incorporate the shear deformation effect. The Hamilton principle is adopted to derive the coupled thermomagnetic dynamic equations of motion of the whole system and the associated boundary conditions. Navier method is used to derive the analytical solution of the governing equations. The developed methodology is verified and compared with the available results in the literature and good agreement is observed. Parametric studies are conducted to show effects of porosity parameter; porosity distribution, temperature rise, magnetic field intensity, material gradation index, non-classical parameters, and the applied moving load velocity on the vibration behavior of nanobeams. It has been showed that all the analyzed conditions have significant effects on the dynamic behavior of the nanobeams. Additionally, it has been observed that the negative effects of moving load, porosity and thermal load on the nanobeam dynamics can be reduced by the effect of the force induced from the directed magnetic field or can be kept within certain desired design limits by controlling the intensity of the magnetic field.
In this paper, hyperbolic shear deformation theory is used for free vibration analysis of piezoelectric rectangular plate made of porous core. Various types of porosity distributions for the porous material is used. To obtain governing equations of motion, Hamilton's principle is used. The Navier's method is used to obtain numerical results of the problem in terms of significant parameters. One can conclude that free vibration responses are changed significantly with change of important parameters such as various porosities and dimensionless geometric parameters such as thickness to side length ratio and ratio of side lengths.

In this work, a novel hyperbolic shear deformation theory is developed for free vibration analysis of the simply supported functionally graded plates in thermal environment and the FGM having temperature dependent material properties. This theory has only four unknowns, which is even less than the other shear deformation theories. The theory presented is variationally consistent, without the shear correction factor. The present one has a new displacement field which introduces undetermined integral variables. Equations of motion are obtained by utilizing the Hamilton's principles and solved via Navier's procedure. The convergence and the validation of the proposed theoretical model are performed to demonstrate the efficacy of the model.
Bending, buckling and free vibration responses of functionally graded (FG) higher-order beams resting on two parameter (Winkler-Pasternak) elastic foundation are studied using a new inverse hyperbolic beam theory. The material properties of the beam are graded along the thickness direction according to the power-law distribution. In the present theory, the axial displacement accounts for an inverse hyperbolic distribution, and the transverse shear stress satisfies the traction-free boundary conditions on the top and bottom surfaces of the beams. Hamilton's principle is employed to derive the governing equations of motion. Navier type analytical solutions are obtained for the bending, bucking and vibration problems. Numerical results are obtained to investigate the effects of power-law index, length-to-thickness ratio and foundation parameter on the displacements, stresses, critical buckling loads and frequencies. Numerical results by using parabolic beam theory of Reddy and first-order beam theory of Timoshenko are specially generated for comparison of present results and found in excellent agreement with each other.
In this research paper, the free vibrational behavior of the simply supported FG nano-plate is studied using the nonlocal two variables integral refined plate theory. The present model takes into account the small scale effect. The effective's properties of the plate change according to the power law variation (P-FGM). The equations of motion of the system are determined and resolved via Hamilton's principle and Navier procedure, respectively. The validity and efficiency of the current model are confirmed by comparing the results with those given in the literature. At the last section, several numerical results are presented to show the various parameters influencing the vibrational behavior such as the small-scale effect, geometry ratio, material index and aspect ratio.
In this paper, the free vibrations of a short cylindrical nanotube made of piezoelectric material are studied based on the consistent couple stress theory and using the shear deformable cylindrical theory. This new model has only one length scale parameter and can consider the size effects of nanostructures in nanoscale. To model size effects in nanoscale, and considering the nanotube material which is piezoelectric, the consistent couple stress theory is used. First, using Hamilton's principle, the equations of motion and boundary condition of the piezoelectric cylindrical nanoshell are developed. Afterwards, using Navier approach and extended Kantorovich method (EKM), the governing equations of the system with simple-simple (S-S) and clamped-clamped (C-C) supports are solved. Afterwards, the effects of size parameter, geometric parameters (nanoshell length and thickness), and mechanical and electric properties (piezoelectric effect) on nanoshell vibrations are investigated. Results demonstrate that the natural frequency on nanoshell in nanoscale is extremely dependent on nanoshell size. Increase in size parameter, thickness and flexoelectric effect of the material leads to increase in frequency of vibrations. Moreover, increased nanoshell length and diameter leads to decreased vibration frequency.
