The Weapon Control Software performs the function of supporting weapon operation within the Naval Combat System in connection with the Weapon System. As Weapon Control Software depends on an Weapon System, it has the characteristic that software modification is unavoidable with the change in Interface information. Modification of software causes an increase in development costs since it must take verification step such as software reliability test. In this paper, We design the standard architecture of weapon control software to minimize the modification elements of existing weapon control software. For Interface information management, Feature Model were applied to make a division between common factor and variable factor. In addition, Strategy Pattern were applied to improve the software design. Software evaluation test results show that new architecture provides better modifiability and reuse than existing software as well as the cost of development decrease.

In this paper, we propose a system that can identify the position of naval ship personnel at a glance by utilizing the Bluetooth-based beacons. The system proposed in this paper, installs a beacon receiver which are short-range wireless communication devices for each cabin, and in the installed beacon receiver receives information from beacons held by personnel. The received information is transmitted to the processing server, and the processing server transmits the integrated information of the cabin to the display module. Display module displays personnel information located in each cabin. As a result of simulations using the designed system, it was confirmed that the integrated information is transferred to the display module and displayed. Unlike existing situations where personnel positions are reported orally within the ship, the system can quickly and in real time determine the position of personnel, allowing for the management of personnel in non-combat situations and the rapid battle disposition in combat situations. This is expected to contribute greatly to the improvement of fighting power.

The combat systems in Korea navy have been operating some kinds of tactical data link systems such as Link-11, ISDL and JTDLS. Each tactical data link system has the ability to transmit and receive tactical information like track, engagement, weapon information by using unique message of theirs. And each unique message has their own format. But a number of tactical data link system make combat effectiveness worse because their major functions are duplicated unnecessarily. So, many advanced countries are trying to make united data link system. Similarly, the combat systems in Korea navy will operate C4I data link system, and it is combined version current ISDL, KNCCS and JTDLS data link system. In this paper, we consider the development current tactical data link systems in Korea navy. Also, compare the characteristics between I-message used in ISDL and Host-Interface message used in C4I. From these results, we analyze advanced points about C4I data link system.

Indoor noise is very important related to the morale and fighting power of the crew as well as environmental condition for them in a navel vessel. Especially, the crew members working in CIC (combat information center) and sonar equipment room require much more quiet environment condition. One of the most serious noise source in CIC is the cooling fan noise installed in the console of the combat system. Therefore, in this paper, the design of the plenum chamber is studied to reduce the noise of the fan from these consoles by numerical analysis and experiment.

Because military weapons systems for special purposes are small and complex, they are not easy to maintain. Therefore, it is very important to maintain combat strength through quick maintenance in the event of a breakdown. In particular, naval ships are complex weapon systems equipped with various equipment, so other equipment must be considered for maintenance in the event of equipment failure, so that skilled maintenance personnel have a great influence on rapid maintenance. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed maintenance data of defense equipment maintenance information system through text mining and social network analysis(SNA), and tried to identify the naval ship maintenance expertise. The defense equipment maintenance information system is a system that manages military equipment efficiently. In this study, the data(2,538cases) of some naval ship maintenance teams were analyzed. In detail, we examined the contents of main maintenance and maintenance personnel through text mining(word cloud, word network). Next, social network analysis(collaboration analysis, centrality analysis) was used to confirm the collaboration relationship between maintenance personnel and maintenance expertise. Finally, we compare the results of text mining and social network analysis(SNA) to find out appropriate methods for finding and finding naval ship maintenance expertise.

In this paper, we analyze the structure of TV video software, one of the warship combat management system software, and propose a standard architecture that minimizes software modification due to the discontinuation replacement of warship hardware. The class structure was newly designed to minimize the class modified when replacing the warship hardware by separating the variable elements and common elements of TV video software through FORM(Feature-Oriented Reuse Method), the common part that communicates with the warship combat management system and displays the TV screen and the variable part that communicates between the operator and the TV camera. In addition, the Strategy design pattern is applied to efficiently add and modify classes that directly use hardware-dependent APIs when replacing hardware discontinuation, and to make both discontinued and replacements available software. Finally, the reliability testing time and functional testing time of the existing TV video software and the proposed software were measured and compared, and finally, it was confirmed that the hardware discontinuation replacement cost was reduced.

In systems like the combat management system of a naval ship or smart city of civilians, where many sensors and actuators are connected, the middle-ware DDS (Data Distribution Service) is mainly used to transmit large amounts of data. It is scalable and can effectively respond to the increase in sensors or equipment connected to the system in the future. The engineering control system (ECS), which plays an important role similar to the combat management system of a naval ship, still uses Server-Client model with industrial protocols such as Modbus and CAN (Controller Area Network) bus, to transmit data, which is unfavorable in terms of scalability. However, as automation and unmanned systems advance, more sensors and actuators are expected to be added, necessitating substantial program modification. DDS can effectively address such situations. The purpose of this study is to confirm the development possibility of an integrated monitoring and control system of a ship by using OpenDDS, which follows the OMG (Object Management Group) standard among the middle-ware DDS used in the combat management system. To achieve this goal, field equipment simulators and an ECS server were configured to perform field equipment data input/output and simulation using DDS was performed. The ECS prototype successfully handled data transmission, confirming that DDS is capable of serving as the middle-ware for the ECS of a ship.
The purpose of this article is to examine the 'Discussion of maritime defense' which began to be discussed from the late Goryeo dynasty to the early Joseon dynasty and the process of establishing a maritime defense system. Also it can identify changes in the aspects of the naval ship operation and their strategic tactics during the reign of King Sejong. Japanese raiders began a full-scale invasion from 1350 at the late Goryeo Dynasty, So the government realized the need to raise the 'Sea power' and to organize the maritime defense system for defending enemy invasion. for example, the reinforcement of naval forces, construction of warships, develoment of weapon systems and so on. which have achieved remarkable growth while continuing, have also been used to carry out a three-time 'Conquest of Daemado' in 1389, 1396, 1419. Until then, however, it is difficult to interpret that the naval forces had a systematic and organizational combat operation system. According to fighting patterns on combat reports before the early days of King Sejong's reign, Our naval forces had no advantage over the Japanese raiders in terms of their capabilities and tactics. Then, the period of King Sejong marked a watershed in maritime defense history. Based on accumulated experience of naval battles and force Projections, The paradigm shift of the naval strategic tactics for maritime defense has occurred. First, the capability of the naval vessels has improved. for example, ship speed, durability, and weather resistance. Through these efforts, navy forces were able to pursue and attack, destroy enemy's ships by taking advantage of the 'Ship speed superiority'. This has led to tactical shifts from defensive to offensive. Second, purpose to support offensive tactics, the government put a strategic plan into practice that is the forward depolyment of naval bases from the inland to the coast, considering the 'sea environment' and 'threat'. By doing so, Joseon dynasty was able to secure 'the command of the sea'. This may be a little different from the perception of the so-called 'peace period' that King Sejong's era. We need to remember that Joseon dynasty was working hard for its defense. When studying history of maritime defense, these strategic and tactical elements must be fully considered. Only then we can have a coherent understanding of the many naval battles in the past, including the Imjin War(1592-1598).

In this paper, the result of study on the effectiveness of anti-submarine defense plan according to the disposition of surface ships has been proposed. The surface ship carries a hull mounted sonar(HMS) as a underwater sensor and a torpedo acoustic counter measure(TACM) as a soft-kill weapon against torpedo attacks from the enemy. Nowadays these underwater systems have been combined into a integrated anti-submarine warfare combat system. And in the real anti-submarine operation environment, several surface ships cooperate for executing ASW plans. Considering these ASW systems and the ASW environment, the models of underwater systems mounted on an surface ship and the a general model of anti-submarine defense plan are proposed. And we designed a scenario for conducting simulations to evaluate the ASW plan according to the variation of the range and the relative angle between surface ships and a capital ship. The simulation results show the effectiveness of ASW plan depends on the formation of surface ships and a capital ship.

System support software is one of the software that makes up ship combat management system and has the characteristics of being mounted in the combat management systems of all ships but with little functional change. However, despite these characteristics, software modifications due to equipment, etc. are inevitable in the application of new ships. Modification of software causes software reliability testing which is a key factor in increasing development costs. In this paper, the structure of the existing system support software was analyzed to identify and supplement the code change factors, and the system support standardization architecture was designed. The feature model elicited common and variable elements of system support software, and applied white-box reuse to improve software design. In addition, the results of comparing existing system support software with the new architecture in terms of development elements and time to perform reliability test were presented to verify the effectiveness of the new one.
