Unlike structures in the air, the vibration analysis of a submerged or floating structure such as offshore structures or ships is possible only when the fluid-structure interaction is understood, as the whole or part of the structure is in contact with water. This paper introduces two methods to find natural frequency in consideration of fluid-structure interaction, direct coupled vibration analysis and fluid-structure modal coupled vibration analysis. The purpose of this study is to analyze the vibration characteristic of a submerged vehicle to obtain the anti-vibration design data, which could be used in the preliminary design stage. The underwater pressure hull of submerged vehicle is used as the model of this study. The F.E.M. model is meshed by shell and beam elements. Also, considering the inner hull weight, the mass element is distributed in the direction of hull length. Numerical calculations are accomplished by using the commercial B.E.M. code. The characteristics of natural frequency, mode shape and frequency-displacement response are analyzed.
Although big-sized markers are good for accurate marker recognition and tracking, they are easily occluded by other objects and deteriorate natural visualization and level of immersion during user interaction in AR environments. In this paper, we propose an approach to exploiting the use of rectangular markers to support tangible AR interaction based on fingertip touch using small-sized markers. It basically adjusts the length, width, and interior area of rectangular markers to make them more suitably fit to longish objects like fingers. It also utilizes convex polygons to resolve the partial occlusion of a marker and properly enlarges the pattern area of a marker while adjusting its size without deteriorating the quality of marker detection. We obtained encouraging results from users that the approach can provide better natural visualization and higher level of immersion, and be accurate and tangible enough to support a pseudo feeling of touching virtual products with human hands or fingertips during design evaluation of digital handheld products.
In order to investigate the characteristics of sound-structure interaction plate having a cut-out, we modeled a rectangular cavity and the flexible plate of the cavity. Because the particle velocity of air is the same as that of plate on the plate, we could easily redefine vibration equation using the velocity potential. We calculated the natural frequencies of plate using orthogonal polynomial functions which satisfy the boundary conditions in the Rayleigh-Ritz method. For the change of vibration characteristics, the effect of sound-structure interaction is more dominant than that of cut-out size.

Hand posture recognition is an important technique to enable a natural and familiar interface in the human-computer interaction (HCI) field. This paper introduces a hand posture recognition method using a depth camera. Moreover, the hand posture recognition method is incorporated with the Moving Picture Experts Group Rich Media User Interface (MPEG-U) Advanced User Interaction (AUI) Interface (MPEG-U part 2), which can provide a natural interface on a variety of devices. The proposed method initially detects positions and lengths of all fingers opened, and then recognizes the hand posture from the pose of one or two hands, as well as the number of fingers folded when a user presents a gesture representing a pattern in the AUI data format specified in MPEG-U part 2. The AUI interface represents a user's hand posture in the compliant MPEG-U schema structure. Experimental results demonstrate the performance of the hand posture recognition system and verified that the AUI interface is compatible with the MPEG-U standard.
The dominant magnetization reversal behavior of electrodeposited CoPt samples with various thicknesses deposited at different current densities was the domain wall motion by means of wall pinning. The magnetic interaction mechanism was dipolar interaction for all samples. The dipolar interaction strength was significantly affected by the sample thickness rather than by the current density, while the magnetic properties were closely related to the current density.
This paper addresses the results of experimental and analytical study on the effects of dynamic interaction between vehicle and bridge on modal properties of bridge. Based on ambient vibration test and vehicle impact test on a bridge, it is found that the natural frequencies of bridge are varied by vehicle passing. Analytical studies for the effects of vehicle position, speed, damping, mass ratio and frequency ratio on bridge-vehicle interaction are carried out using complex eigenvalue analysis and numerical integration in time domain. The results show that vehicle properties except speed cause significant change of natural frequency as well as damping of bridge.
In order to investigate the characteristics of sound-structure interaction problems, we modeled a rectangular cavity and the flexible wall of the cavity. Because the governing equations of motion are coupled through velocity terms, we could redefine them using the velocity potential. We calculated the natural frequencies of plate using orthogonal polynomial functions which satisfy the boundary conditions in the Rayleigh-Ritz Method. As the result, comparisons of theory and experiment show good agreement. and using orthogonal polynomial functions which satisfy the boundary conditions in the Rayleigh-Ritz method show useful method for sound-structure interaction problems too.
Elevated phospholipase D (PLD) expression prevents cell cycle arrest and apoptosis. However, the roles of PLD isoforms in cell proliferation and apoptosis are incompletely understood. Here, we investigated the physiological significance of the interaction between PLD2 and protein kinase CKII (CKII) in HCT116 human colorectal carcinoma cells. PLD2 interacted with the CKII${\beta}$ subunit in HCT116 cells. The C-terminal domain (residues 578-933) of PLD2 and the N-terminal domain of CKII${\beta}$ were necessary for interaction between the two proteins. PLD2 relocalized CKII${\beta}$ to the plasma membrane area. Overexpression of PLD2 reduced CKII${\beta}$ protein level, whereas knockdown of PLD2 led to an increase in CKII${\beta}$ expression. PLD2-induced CKII${\beta}$ reduction was mediated by ubiquitin-dependent degradation. The C-terminal domain of PLD2 was sufficient for CKII${\beta}$ degradation as the catalytic activity of PLD2 was not required. Taken together, the results indicate that the C-terminal domain of PLD2 can regulate CKII by accelerating CKII${\beta}$ degradation in HCT116 cells.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of interaction based on contingent regulation between teacher and underachiever in elementary mathematics. For this purpose, research questions are established as follows; (1) Is there any difference between contingent regulation and natural regulation in mathematics achievement\ulcorner (2) Is there any difference between contingent regulation and natural regulation in affectionate perspective\ulcorner (3) Is there any difference between contingent regulation and natural regulation in adult regulation\ulcorner Two classes of fifth grade Children(10 children) were sampled from an elementary school in city of Daegu. One of them was assigned to the contingent regulation group and the other to natural regulation group. An experiment was conducted for 7 weeks. Two kinds of test instruments were used : pre-test and post-test. The pre-test scores guaranteed that both groups were homogeneous. Post-test was used to identify two effects(research questions (1) & (2)) and the post-test scores were analyzed by t-test. The results were as follows. (1) There was significant difference between contingent regulation and natural regulation in mathematics achievement. This means that experiment group was higher than control group and the interaction effect of contingent regulation was higher in post-test. The self-control indicated in experiment group. (2) There was slightly significant difference between contingent regulation and natural regulation in affectionate perspective. This means that experiment group turned to slightly positioner in post-test. (3) There was significant difference between contingent regulation and natural regulation in adult regulation. In other words, level of contingent regulation changed depending on underachievers' ability but level of natural regulation didn't change. Therefore, I suggest that contingent regulation based on Vygotsky theory would provide effective mathematics education for underachievers in elementary mathematics.

The tumor suppressor and transcription factor p53 is a key modulator of cellular stress responses, and can trigger apoptosis in many cell types including neurons. In this study, we have shown that Microtubule-associated protein 1B(MAP1B) light chain interacts with tumor suppressor p53. MAP1B is one of the major cytoskeletal proteins in the developing nervous system and essential in forming axons during elongation. We also demonstrate that both p53 and MAP1B-LC1 interact in the nucleus in HEK 293 cells. Indeed, we show that the MAP1B-LC1 negatively regulates p53-dependent transcriptional activity of a reporter containing the p21 promoter. Consequently, MAP1B light chain binds with p53 and their interaction leads to the inhibition of doxorubicin-induced apoptosis in HEK 293 cells. Furthermore, these examinations might be taken into consideration when knock-down of MAP1B-LC1 is used as a cancer therapeutic strategy to enhance p53's apoptotic activity in chemotherapy.
