  • Suicide has been a long-standing problem for global public health, along with almost 800,000 deaths from suicide worldwide in 2016, accounting for 1.4% of all deaths. South Korea was ranked first in suicide mortality in 2018 among countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. This study aimed to suggest up-to-date information about suicide-related indicators such as the rate of suicidal ideation, suicide attempt, and suicide death, and its trends by applying sampling weight to make it nationally representative. In this study, we used the data sources: Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination (KNHANES, '07-13, '15-18), Korean Community Health Survey (KCHS, '08-09, '13, '17), Korean Wealth Panel Study (KOWEPS, '12-18), Korea Health Panel Survey (KHP, '10-13), and Statistics Korea (1983-2017). The rate of suicidal ideation as recent year was 4.73% (KNHANES, '17), 6.96% (KCHS, '17), 2.29% (KOWEPS, '18), and 5.39% (KHP, '13). That of suicide attempt as recent year was 0.51% (KNHANES, '18), 0.32% (KCHS, '17), and 0.15% (KOWEPS, '18). Annual percentage change (APC) of suicidal ideation was -15.4% (KNHANES, '07-13, '15, '17), -2.5% (KCHS, '08-09, '13, '17), -10.8% (KOWEPS, '12-18), and -10.9% (KHP, '10-13). APC of suicide attempt was -4.4% (KNHANES, '07-13, '15-18), -4.4% (KCHS, '08-09, '13, '17), and -13.6% (KOWEPS, '12-18). APC of death by intentional self-harm was -1.25% (Statistics Korea, '07-18). All suicide-related indicators were found to be decreasing in the overall from 2009. Individuals with lower income level were more likely to experience suicidal ideation and suicide attempts. Even though suicide rate had been continuously decreasing from its highest point in 2011 (suicide rate: 31.7 per 100,000 population) to 2017 (suicide rate: 24.3 per 100,000 population), it increased again in 2018 (suicide rate: 26.6 per 100,000 population). This information would be grounded on policy implementation for suicide prevention, thus continuous data observation is necessary.

  • South Korea has achieved impressive economic growth relatively quickly by focusing on export-driven policies and economies of scale in the process of industrialization. As the country's economic development policy focused on large corporations, however, a power and wealth imbalance developed between SMEs and large corporations. The purpose of this study is to clarify this issue academically and more clearly through theoretical studies and empirical analysis in order to resolve these imbalances and improve the positive relationship between SMEs and large corporations. To this end, a survey was conducted from December 17, 2018 to January 28, 2019, and a total of 378 questionnaires collected from corporate workers were used for the final analysis. The hypotheses confirmed by the study results were as following. First, the factors directly affecting the competitor's orientation were the trust, entrepreneurship, and innovation capability of the entrepreneurial characteristics. Second, when the characteristics of the company were examined from the perspective of cooperative performance, only the innovation capacity factor had a positive effect. Third, the competitor orientation showed a positive effect on cooperative performance. Fourth, competitor orientation had a statistically significant mediating effect on the relationship between trust, entrepreneurship, innovation capability, and cooperative performance.

  • The purpose of this study is the study of factors affecting the life satisfaction of disabled children parents. Survey data metropolitan area and Gyeonggi-do special schools, day shelter, Disabled Welfare, especially on the national branch in Korea Funny disabled parent meetings, through 389 branches were collected material wealth targeting parents with disabilities. Statistical analysis SPSS 19.0 program utilizes factor analysis, reliability analysis. And parents of children with disabilities and environmental factors are the demographic characteristics in order to analyze the impact on life satisfaction as a control variable, and the environmental factors as independent variables were performed hierarchical regression analysis. Results are crazy and the positive(+) influence a religious presence and the average monthly income of demographic characteristics in the satisfaction of life, environmental factors all had significant influence on life satisfaction. In other words, family support, disability, social networks, personal nature had a positive(+) influence on life satisfaction of disabled children parents, the relative influence of these factors include family support, disability, social networks, net of personality. It was in. The result is handicapped parents receive emotional support and help from family, the lower the degree of disability of the child, as participation in meetings or disability welfare various programs and handicapped parents, and the more it has a positive character increased satisfaction in life that can be interpreted.

  • Korea has numerous astronomical resources, such as observational records, star maps, and a wealth of literature, covering the period from the Three Kingdoms (54 BC - 932 AD) to the Joseon Dynasty (1392 - 1910 AD). The research activities related to these resources have been limited to those by individual researchers. It is now necessary to conduct research by efficiently and systematically collecting and managing Korean astronomical records using an accessible Web environment. The purpose of this study is to complete a system that enables researchers systematically to collect and verify a large number of historical records related to astronomical phenomena in a Web environment. In 2017, a preliminary survey was conducted, and the requirements pertaining to an implementation target system were devised. In addition, a joint development plan was carried out by the developer, lasting three months in 2018. Although the system is relatively simple, it is the first system to be attempted in the historical astronomy field. In order to proceed with the systematic development, the software development methodology is applied to the entire process from deriving the requirements of researchers to completing the system. The completed system is verified through integrated function and performance tests. The functional test is repeated while modifying and testing the system based on various test scenarios. The performance test uses a performance measurement test tool that takes measurements by setting up a virtual operation environment. The developed system is now in normal operation after a one-year trial period. Researchers who become authorized to use the system can use it to verify the accuracy of data and to suggest improvements. The collected feedback will be reflected in future systems, and Korean astronomical records will be available for use internationally through a multilingual service.
