A Survey of Trust Management in WSNs, Internet of Things and Future Internet

  • Nowadays, most researchers and manufacturers always pay attention on wireless sensor networks (WSNs) due to its potential applications in many regions such as military, industrial and civilian areas. WSNs are the basic components of Internet of Things (IoT) and the key to machine-to-machine communications and the future Internet. Also, the security is an essential element for deploying WSNs. Recently the concept of trust-based mechanism was proposed in WSNs such as traditional cryptographic and authentication mechanisms. However, there is lack a survey on trust management for WSNs, IoT even future Internet. In this paper, we discuss the concept and potential application areas of trust management for WSNs and IoT worlds. Furthermore, we survey different trust management issues (i.e., cluster, aggregation, reputation). Finally, future research directions with respect to trust management in WSNs and future IoT world are provided. We give not only simple WSNs for IoT environments but also a simulated bootstrap platform to provide the discussion of open challenges and solutions for deploying IoT in Future Internet.

  • 본 논문은 블록체인 기술에서 탈중앙화된 시스템 접근 방식을 활용하여 차량 인터넷(IoV)에서 신뢰할 수 있는 데이터 공유 체계를 제안한다. 스마트 계약에 기초한 인센티브 메커니즘을 채택하여, 차량은 올바른 교통 정보 메시지를 정직하게 공유함으로써 시스템으로부터 특정한 보상을 받게 된다. 이후 차량은 평판 등급을 생성하여 수신되는 모든 정보 메세지를 검증함으로서 메시지에 대한 신뢰성을 유지한다. 한편 네트워크 성능을 분석하기 위해 이산 이벤트 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 IoT 네트워크를 시뮬레이션하였고, 인센티브 모델은 분산형 접근 방식의 이더리움 스마트 계약을 활용하여 설계하였다.

Relationship between Product Characteristics and Customer Purchase Intention in Cross-Border Online Shopping: Focus on Chinese Consumers

  • Purpose: This study explored the relationship between product characteristics and customer purchase intention in cross-border online shopping. Research design, data, and methodology: Through literature review, the research model of product characteristics and consumers' purchase intention is constructed, and trust is taken as a medium variable. Based on the survey data of Chinese consumers, empirical analysis and hypothesis verification are conducted. This study used SPSS version 21 to confirm the reliability and validity of the research model. To confirm the media effect of the model in this study, the Sobel Test was used. Results: The results of hypothesis identification of this research model showed that 8 of the 11 hypotheses were adopted and 3 were rejected. Results confirmed the relationship between product characteristics (specification, diversity, reputation, novelty, quality) and customer purchase intention. Conclusions: The result from this study had particular theoretical significance for improving the research on cross-border online shopping systems to improve the safety and satisfaction of customers in cross-border online shopping.

The usefulness of pedicled perforator flap in partial breast reconstruction after breast conserving surgery in Korean women

  • Background The emergence of breast-conserving surgery combined with radiotherapy as the treatment of choice for early stage breast cancer has resulted in greater focus on oncoplastic breast surgery. The use of perforator flaps has particularly gained in reputation for its effectiveness in the reconstruction of partial breast defects in Korean women. Herein, we present our experience with the use of thoracodorsal artery perforator (TDAP) and lateral intercostal artery perforator (LICAP) flaps. Methods This study included 33 patients who underwent breast reconstruction using TDAP or LICAP flaps at our hospital from January 2011 to December 2014. Data from patient medical records, and patient satisfaction surveys, which were conducted 12 months postoperatively, were retrospectively evaluated. Results TDAP and LICAP flap-based reconstructions were performed in 14 and 19 patients, respectively. Five patients developed complications that required additional intervention. Overall patient satisfaction was observed to be excellent in 15 (46%) patients, and good in 12 (36%). Conclusions Based on our experience, oncoplastic breast surgery using TDAP or LICAP flap is an effective remodeling technique for small-to-moderate breast defects in Korean women with smaller breasts.

의과대학생 국가시험 거부 사태에 대한 고찰: 신호게임 이론을 중심으로 (A Study on the Refusal of National Examination for Medical Students: Focusing on the Signaling Game Theory)

  • Background: Conflict in the medical world in 2020 led to the rejection of the national examination for doctors. This study explained the process until the end of the national test refusal situation triggered in 2020 through the signaling game theory. The government has succeeded in requiring medical students to take the national exam. Methods: To explain the rejection of the national examination, we first compose and show an example of two small non-signaling games where medical students know which type the government is of, then combine them to play a signaling game. Results: The behavior of the government and medical students was examined through the signaling game model. In the context of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the government makes an ultimatum, whatever the type. And the medical students accept it. They judged that the government could not be expected to abolish the policy. If COVID-19 had not occurred, medical students would have been able to continue the confrontation. Conclusion: The government instilled in the other party the perception that the government would not bend its policies because it was the surly type and would not be afraid of a strong confrontation. Through the image created in this way, the government was forced to accept the ultimatum by medical students. Academically, this study is to deal with the policy-making process through the signaling game theory. In the area of health care policy, this study suggests that various situations such as the type of government or the spread of COVID-19 can become important in addition to the rationality of the policy itself.

잠재 토픽 기반의 제품 평판 마이닝 (Latent topics-based product reputation mining)

  • 최근 여론조사 분야에서 데이터에 기반을 둔 분석 기법이 널리 활용되고 있다. 기업에서는 최근 출시된 제품에 대한 선호도를 조사하기 위해 기존의 설문조사나 전문가의 의견을 단순 취합하는 것이 아니라, 온라인상에 존재하는 다양한 종류의 데이터를 수집하고 분석하여 제품에 대한 대중의 기호를 정확히 파악할 수 있는 방안을 필요로 한다. 기존의 주요 방안에서는 먼저 해당 분야에 대한 감성사전을 구축한다. 전문가들은 수집된 텍스트 문서들로부터 빈도가 높은 단어들을 정리하여 긍정, 부정, 중립을 판단한다. 특정 제품의 선호를 판별하기 위해, 제품에 대한 사용 후기 글을 수집하여 문장을 추출하고, 감성사전을 이용하여 문장들의 긍정, 부정, 중립을 판단하여 최종적으로 긍정과 부정인 문장의 개수를 통해 제품에 대한 선호도를 측정한다. 그리고 제품에 대한 긍 부정 내용을 자동으로 요약하여 제공한다. 이것은 문장들의 감성점수를 산출하여, 긍정과 부정점수가 높은 문장들을 추출한다. 본 연구에서는 일반 대중이 생산한 문서 속에 숨겨져 있는 토픽을 추출하여 주어진 제품의 선호도를 조사하고, 토픽의 긍 부정 내용을 요약하여 보여주는 제품 평판 마이닝 알고리즘을 제안한다. 기존 방식과 다르게, 토픽을 활용하여 쉽고 빠르게 감성사전을 구축할 수 있으며 추출된 토픽을 정제하여 제품의 선호도와 요약 결과의 정확도를 높인다. 실험을 통해, K5, SM5, 아반떼 등의 국내에서 생산된 자동차의 수많은 후기 글들을 수집하였고, 실험 자동차의 긍 부정 비율, 긍 부정 내용 요약, 통계 검정을 실시하여 제안방안의 효용성을 입증하였다.

무선 센서 네트워크를 위한 신뢰 기반의 안전한 클러스터 헤드 선출 (Secure Cluster Head Elections Based on Trust for Wireless Sensor Networks)

  • 클러스터 구조를 가진 센서 네트워크에서 클러스터 헤드는 그 멤버들로부터 데이터를 모아서 모아진 데이터를 싱크에 보내는 역할을 수행하기에, 오염된 노드들이 클러스터 헤드 선출에 개입하여 선출결과를 조작하거나 변경하지 못하도록 막아야 한다. 오염된 노드들로부터 클러스터 헤드 선출 과정을 보호하기 위해서는 선출과정의 비예측성, 비조작성, 그리고 일치성을 보존해야 한다. 하지만, 기존의 클러스터 헤드 선출 방법들은 지능화된 오염노드들이 상호 협력을 통해 위의 속성들을 교묘하게 손상시키는 것을 막지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 지능화된 오염노드들을 식별하고 제거함으로써 클러스터 헤드 선출과정을 보호하는 방법을 제안한다. 클러스터 헤드 선출 라운드 마다 각 멤버는 다른 멤버들의 행위에 따라 그들에게 직접적인 신뢰값을 부여한다. 각 멤버는 자신이 부여한 직접신뢰값과 다른 멤버들에 의해 부여된 간접신뢰값을 묶어서 멤버들의 실제 신뢰값들을 추출한다. 이후에 각 멤버는 추출된 다른 멤버들의 실제 신뢰값을 평가하고 낮은 신뢰값을 가진 멤버들은 클러스터 헤드 후보자에서 제거한다. 이를 통해 제안방법은 다른 경쟁방법에 비해 클러스터 헤드 선출 결과의 비조작성과 일치성을 크게 향상 시킨다. 또한, 제안방법은 메시지 손실이 발생하는 환경에서도 다른 방법들에 비해 높은 비조작성과 일치성을 제공한다.

기부금 지출과 기업 가치: 기업지배구조를 중심으로 (Donation Expenses and Corporate Value: A Focus on the Corporate Governance Structure)

  • Purpose - Recently, the number of corporations that practice environmental and social responsibility, besides engaging in traditional profit-seeking activities, has been growing steadily, as interest in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is increasing. Recent research on CSR practices has identified the relationship between CSR activities and corporate value as one of the main issues in this respect. Considering that donations constitute a large proportion of a company's charitable activities, we considered the extent of donation expenses as a charitable activity in order to mitigate sample selection bias. Specifically, we analyzed the impact of donation expenses on firm value, while investigating if this impact varied in response to the level of corporate governance of firms. Research design, data, and methodology - We used non-financial firms listed on the Korean Stock Exchange, having their fiscal year end in December, and the sample period was 2006-2013. For the dependent variable, Tobin's q was used as the corporate value, and for the independent variable, donations were measured as the donation-expense-to-sales ratio. Corporate governance scores, as rated by the Korea Corporate Governance Service, were used to measure corporate governance levels because they consider the overall aspects of governance, including ownership structure, the board of directors, and the audit mechanism of individual companies. To examine the impact of donations on a company in relation to the level of corporate governance, we estimated regression models using the interaction terms of the governance dummy and donation variables. Then, we further estimated the regression models of two sub-samples that were classified according to the level of corporate governance. Similar to previous studies, the study uses variables that affect firm value, such as R&D expenditure, advertising expenses, EBITDA, debt-to-equity ratio, sales growth, company age, and company size as control variables. Results - The empirical results show that firm value significantly increased in response to an increase in donation expenses. Upon including the interaction terms of governance level dummy variables and donations, the coefficients of the interaction terms show significant positive values, while those of donation variables show significant negative values. In the strong governance sub-sample, the relationship between the donation expenses and corporate value was statistically positive (+) and significant. However, in the weak governance sub-sample, the relationship between the donation expenses and corporate value was statistically insignificant and negative (-). Conclusions - The empirical results suggest that donation expenses are significantly linked to an enhanced corporate value if firms have a good corporate governance structure. However, if the corporate governance structure is weak, the same relationship is not necessarily observed. The results of this study show that if a firm has high corporate governance, CSR practices enhance the company's reputation such that it has a positive (+) relationship with corporate value. If a firm has weak corporate governance, on the other hand, CSR practices are recognized as an agency cost and do not increase corporate value.

비영리교육기관의 공익마케팅: 인제대학교의 프론티어개척 (Public Marketing of a Nonprofit-Oriented Educational Institution: Inje University's Pioneering Work in the Frontier)

  • 비영리기관인 인제대학교는 설립된 지 25년 만에 2001년 대학종합평가에서 전국 2위, 지방대학으로 1위를 차지한 이래로 2004년에는 전국 5위를 차지하는 등 꾸준하게 상위권을 유지하고 있다. 그 이유를 추출하기 위해 이사장 면담, 대학당국자 심층면접, 학생면담, 지역주민과의 대화, 이차자료 수집이 이루어졌다. 그 결과, 인제대학교는 경영철학(philosophy)-기능(function)-구조(form)-성과(performance)측면에서 차별적인 공익마케팅을 수행하고 있음을 밝혀내었다. 이사장과의 면담을 통해서 인제대학교 경영철학은 '아무도 눈여겨 보지 않는 황무지에 공익의 이름으로 공헌'하는 프론티어정신임을 확인하였다. 이 경영철학에 의해 학교가 하는 일(기능: function)이 타대학과 차별적임을 밝혀내었다. 단순히 인제대학교 재학생만을 대상으로 하지 않고, 전국과 지역사회, 세계를 대상으로 한 공익네트워크형성에 주력하고 있었다. 또한 이런 일을 수행하기 위한 특징적인 별도 조직들이 인제대학교 내에 구성되어 있음을 알아내었다(형태: form). 탁월한 학교 내 학생-학교 네트워크, 교외 산업 간 네트워크, 국외 인제교류 네트워크조직을 형성하였다. 이를 토대로 인제대학교는 신입생에 대한 유인력, 재학생의 고객만족도, 교직원과 학생의 내부만족도와 같은 질적인 변수와 대학종합평가 및 취업률과 같은 양적인 변수측면에서 높은 성과(performance)를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 위와 같은 결과를 바탕으로 연구자는 인제대학교를 숨어있지만 강한 비영리기관의 '숨은 강자(hidden champion)'이라 평가하였다. 이런 숨은 강자적 면모의 차별적 공익마케팅 바탕에는 1930년대부터 70년을 넘는 기간동안에 이루어진 투자가 있었음을 확인하였다. 남들이 눈여겨 보고 있지 않지만 사람들에게 꼭 필요한 인술과 교육에 전 재산을 투자하는 헌신성이 오늘날의 인제대학교가 가진 사회적인 위상과 평판, 그리고 성과를 만들어낸 초석이 되었다.

BRIBERY INTENTION IN CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY : AN APPLICATION OF THE THEORY OF PLANNED BEHAVIOR

  • Illegal and unethical behaviors of the construction industry affect people's lives and health more than the same problems of the other industries. Among these behaviors, the construction industry is mostly criticized for bribery scandals. According to the survey of the Ministry of Justice in Taiwan over the past years, bribery cases involving public engineering projects and governmental procurements account for a rather large portion of the indicted corruption cases. Transparency International's "Bribe Payer Index" indicates people in construction-related industries are the most likely to pay bribes. Poor construction quality directly and indirectly caused by bribery poses a great threat to public safety, organizational reputation and economic development. However, there is a limited number of existing research on the bribery problem of the construction industry. This study is an empirical attempt to explore bribery intention and its affecting factors among the construction organizations in Taiwan by conducting a questionnaire survey. The theory of planned behavior was used in this study to build its research model (covering elements of attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavior control, and intention). Totally 431 valid samples were returned. To explore the factors affecting bribery intention, this study adopted Pearson's correlation analysis to discuss about the connections among the questionnaire respondents' attitudes to bribery, subjective norms, perceived behavior control, and bribery intention. A multi-regression analysis was then conducted to test if the planned behavior theory can effectively predict bribery intention. The research found (1) according to the results of Pearson's correlation analysis, the respondents' bribery intention, attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control are positively correlated with one another; (2) according to the results of the multi-regression analysis, bribery intention can be explained through attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavior control with an adjusted R2 value of 0.591, meaning 59.1% of the bribery intention's variances can be explained through the three dimensions. In addition, each of the three dimensions has a significant influence on the respondents' behavior intentions.
