전문간호사의 전문직업성, 임상적 의사결정능력 및 간호업무성과의 관계 (The Relationship between Nursing Professionalism, Clinical Decision Making Abilities, and Job Performance in Advanced Practice Nurses)

  • Purpose: To identify the extents of nursing professionalism, clinical decision making abilities and job performance of advanced practice nurses and investigate the relationship among the variables Methods: Participants, selected by a convenience sampling method, were 135 advanced practice nurses working in 4 tertiary care general hospitals in 'B' Metropolitan City and in 1 tertiary care general hospital in 'J' city. Data collection was done from January 15 to February 28, 2013 using self-reporting questionnaires. Results: The average score for nursing professionalism of study participants was $81.19{\pm}7.56$. for clinical decision making abilities, $140.42{\pm}9.62$ and for job performance, $102.54{\pm}10.30$. These averages are relatively high. The relationship between the extent of nursing professionalism and the extent of clinical decision making abilities showed an intermediate level positive correlation (r=.45, p<.001). The relationship between the extent of nursing professionalism and the extent of job performance was also an intermediate level positive correlation (r=.42, p<.001). The extent of clinical decision making abilities and the extent of job performance was an intermediate level positive correlation (r=.41, p<.001). Conclusion: Developing a program, which can improve nursing professionalism and clinical decision making abilities of nurse, is required to enhance their job performance.

신경망을 이용한 우리나라의 시공간적 가뭄의 해석 (Spatial-Temporal Drought Analysis of South Korea Based On Neural Networks)

  • 본 연구에서는 공간적으로 분포되어 있는 연강우량 자료를 이용한 지역 기상학적인 가뭄을 정의하고 해석하는 모형을 제시하였다. 비선형. 비매개변수법에 기초한 공간 해석 신경망(Spatial Analysis Neural Network; SANN)모형을 이용하여, 각 년에 대하여 공간의 임의 점에서의 극심, 심 경심, 및 비 가뭄 확률을 전 대상 지역에 대하여 산출을 통하여 가뭄확률도를 작성하며, Bayesian 가뭄 심도 지수(BDSI)를 통하여 전 대상 지역을 가장 적적하게 극심, 심, 경심, 비 가뭄 지역으로 분류하는 방법을 제시하였다. 또한, 각 년의 대표적인 가뭄의 형태를 제시하여 줄 수 있는 지역 가뭄 확률과 지역 가뭄 확률 지수를 소개하였다. 이 모든 시공간적 가뭄 해석의 방법은 실제로 우리나라(남한) 전역에 대하여 실시하여, 과거 1967년부터 1996년 까지의 공간적이고 시간적인 가뭄의 발생 현황과 그 특징을 조사 하였다. 본 연구는 우리나라 장기 수자원 개발 및 유역 관리를 위한 공간적이고도 시간적인 가뭄 정보를 제공하였다는 데 그 의의가 있을 것이다.

유추활동 시기에 따른 초등학생의 공기 개념변화 효과 (The Effects of Placement of Analogy on the Conceptual Changes of Air of Elementary Students)

  • The purposes of this study investigated the effects of placement of analogy on the conceptual changes of air of elementary students, while learning the air conceptions. The subjects consisted of 108 students who are in the sixth grade classes in an elementary school in Busan city. For this study, comparative group(37 members), experimental group I(37 members), and experimental group II(34 memgers) were selected. A pre-test and a post-test on the air conception were done both for the comparative group and the experimental groups. The results are as follows. First, the averages of experiment group I and II are statistically higher than comparative group's. By the way, it just has a small gap between the comparative group and the experimental II. In other words, activity of analogy does not keep always constant to change of air conceptions of elementary students. Therefore, it has a different reason that only before or after during the analogy. Second, it shows that experimental group I has effected on a more change of air conceptions as compared with experimental group II. Then, the first group's result shows better than the other group's result. From this result, six grade students showed a change of air conceptions very well by analogy. It means if the analogy is given to students at the beginning state of chapter, they can understand scientific concepts easily.

곡관의 하류에 설치된 전자기유량계의 유량신호 특성에 관한 실험적 연구(난류 유동) (An Experimental Study on Installation Effects of Pipe Elbow on the Electromagnetic Flowmeter Characteristics (Turbulent Flow))

  • An electromagnetic flowmeter(EMF) essentially averages the velocity distribution over the pipe cross- sectional area, and the measured value is dependent on the velocity profiles. In this study, installation effects of 90$^{\circ}$long elbow(KS B 1522, ISO 3419) on the EMF characteristics was investigated. A commercial EMF was adopted and the distribution of magnetic field in the electrodes cross section was measured. In the experiment, the national flow standard system, of which measurement uncertainty was evaluated in accordance with ISO 17025 recommendation, was used fur characterization of EMF. The leading line has 150D long straight pipe to established a fully developed flow before entering into the elbow and the elbow was installed downstream of it. then the flowmeter was tested within 50 D from the elbow. The installation effects of the flowmeter were investigated by varying the mean velocity(Reynolds No.)in pipe section, the locations and the direction of electrodes plane.($\phi$) From the experimental results, we find the optimal conditions to get most accurate measurements. Generally, the deviations from the calibration value were less than 0.5 % in farther than 10D distance from the elbow and the direction of electrode plane. $\phi$ = 90$^{\circ}$yielded the smallest measurement deviation. These characteristics were shown consistently in turbulent region regardless of the mean Reynolds number.

전주 지역 여대생의 운동 습관에 따른 식습관 및 건강 관련 생활 습관에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dietary Behavior and Health-Related Lifestyles according to Exorcise Habits of Female University Students in the Jeonju Area)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the dietary behaviors and health-related lifestyles, according to exercise habits, of female university students in the Jeonju area. Self-administered questionnaires were collected from 285 students, and the statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS v. 10.0 program. The results are summarized as follows. The weight, height, and BMI averages of the regular exercise and non-exercise groups were 53.05 kg, 162.46 cm, and 20.23, and 50.81 kg, 161.46 cm, and 19.48, respectively. The breakfast skipping ratio was higher in the non-exercise group than the exercise group. More than 72% of the exercise and 71% of the non-exercise group responded to regularly having lunch at the university canteens or restaurants around campus. Approximately 70% of the exercise and 71% of the non-exercise group responded to having dinner irregularly, which was mainly caused by reasons such as 'irregularity of life style' and 'appointments with friends'. The snack intake ratios of the exercise and non-exercise groups were high, but the exercise group ate more fruit, yogurt, and milk than the non-exercise group. The favorite sports of the exercise group were 'walk(jogging)', 'yoga', 'bicycle,' 'swim,' etc. In particular, 5.3% of the exercise group had ridden a bicycle to the university. More than 97% of the students were non-smokers. About 14% of the exercise and 15% of the non-exercise group rank alcohol once or twice a week. The exercise group did not show exceptional health-oriented dietary behaviors in comparison to the non-exorcise group. Therefore, an exercise-oriented nutrition education program would be beneficial to the students, in order to improve their dietary behaviors and health-related lifestyles.

Who are the Breast Cancer Survivors in Malaysia?

  • Introduction: Worldwide, breast cancer is the commonest cause of cancer death in women. However, the survival rate varies across regions at averages of 73%and 57% in the developed and developing countries, respectively. Objective: This study aimed to determine the survival rate of breast cancer among the women of Malaysia and characteristics of the survivors. Method: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on secondary data obtained from the Breast Cancer Registry and medical records of breast cancer patients admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur from 2005 to 2009. Survival data were validated with National Birth and Death Registry. Statistical analysis applied logistic regression, the Cox proportional hazard model, the Kaplan-Meier method and log rank test. Results: A total of 868 women were diagnosed with breast cancer between January 2005 and December 2009, comprising 58%, 25% and 17% Malays, Chinese and Indians, respectively. The overall survival rate was 43.5% (CI 0.573-0.597), with Chinese, Indians and Malays having 5 year survival rates of 48.2% (CI 0.444-0.520), 47.2% (CI 0.432-0.512) and 39.7% (CI 0.373-0.421), respectively (p<0.05). The survival rate was lower as the stages increased, with the late stages were mostly seen among the Malays (46%), followed by Chinese (36%) and Indians (34%). Size of tumor>3.0cm; lymph node involvement, ERPR, and HER 2 status, delayed presentation and involvement of both breasts were among other factors that were associated with poor survival. Conclusions: The overall survival rate of Malaysian women with breast cancer was lower than the western figures with Malays having the lowest because they presented at late stage, after a long duration of symptoms, had larger tumor size, and had more lymph nodes affected. There is an urgent need to conduct studies on why there is delay in diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer women in Malaysia.

SSR 마커를 이용한 고려인삼 품종 판별기술 개발 (Development of SSR Markers for Identification of Korean Ginseng (Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer) Cultivars)

  • The principal objective of this study was to develop a discrimination method using SSR markers in Korean ginseng cultivars. Five cultivars--Chunpoong, Yunpoong, Gopoong, Sunpoong, and Kumpoong--were evaluated by nine markers out of 22 SSR markers. A total of 23 alleles were detected, ranging from 1 to 4, with an average of 2.6 alleles per locus, and an averages of gene diversity (GD) of 0.480. Nine markers were tested in order to distinguish among five Korean ginseng cultivars. Two markers out of nine SSR markers, GB-PG-065 and GB-PG-142, were selected as key markers for discrimination among Korean ginseng cultivars. Two genotypes were detected in GB-PG-065. Chunpoong and Kumpoong shared the same allele type, and Yunpoong, Gopoong, and Sunpoong shared another identical allele type. In the case of GB-PG-142, a specific allele type differentiated from those of other four cultivars was observed only in Sunpoong cultivar. Consequently, the SSR markers developed in this study may prove useful for the identification of Korean ginseng cultivars and the development of ginseng seed management systems, as well as tests to guarantee the purity of ginseng seeds.

원주천의 어류군집 분석 (Fish Community Analysis in the Wonju-stream)

  • 2004년 5월부터 11월까지 원주천 어류군집의 변화를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 조사된 어종은 총 6과 24종이었으며 이들 중 한국고유종은 가는돌고기(Pseudopungtungia tenuicorpa), 쉬리(Coreoleuciscus splendidus), 긴몰개(Squalidus gracitis majimae), 몰개(Squalidus japonicus coreanus), 돌마자(Microphysogobio yaluensis), 배가사리(Microphysogobio longidorsalis), 참종개(Iksookimia koreensis), 새코미꾸리(Koreocobitis rotundicaudata), 퉁가리(Liobagus andersoni) 및 얼룩동사리(Odontobutis interrupta) 등 10종$(41.7\%)$이었다. 본 조사에서 피라미(Zacco platypus)가 $54.7\%$로 우점하였고 버들치(Rhynthocypris oxycephalus)가 $16.7\%$로 아우점하였다. 또한 우세종은 붕어(Carassius auratus)가 $5.4\%$, 참종개(I. koreensis) $3.4\%$, 종개(Orthrias toni) $3.3\%$, 돌고기(Pungtungia herzi) $3.0\%$ 등의 순으로 확인되었다. 어류의 분포에 따라, 원주천은 비가중치 평균연결법(UPGMA)에 의해 2개의 군집으로 나누어졌다. 생활형에 따른 어류군집의 변화를 보면 저서성 어종의 수가 감소하였고 하상변화와 오염에 대한 내성이 강한 부유성 어종이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

쌍생아(雙生兒) 치아(齒牙) 우식증(齲蝕症)에 관(關)한 역학적(疫學的)인 연구(硏究) (EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY ON DENTAL CARIES IN TWINS.)

  • The Study reported here was designed to analyze the prevalence of Dental Caries in the primary teeth of monozygote twins, and to ascertain and compare the intrapair differences with the intrapair differences in control pairs. The prevalence of dental caries in the primary teeth of 40 pairs of presumably monozygote twins, based on phenotypic analysis, was studied. The age range was from 3 to12 years. The control group consisted of pairs that included a twin chosen at random and an unrelated child of the same sex and age, so that for each pair of twins there was a corresponding control pair. The clinical examination was carried out by an operator using an oral mirror and sharp explorers, and with good lighting. 40 pairs of twins were examined with a total of 4,950 primary tooth surfaces (990 primary teeth) and 40 control pairs with a total of 4,935 primary tooth surfaces (987 primary teeth). Five surfaces were considered for each tooth. After the def individual index was determined, the ratio between this index and the number of examined surfaces was established in each case, the cer (Caries experience rate) index. The def and cer averages were determined for the subjects and the controls. All intrapair differences in twin and control groups were compared following the paired sampling method. The following conclusions were made: 1. Intrapair differences in the control group were significantly greater than in twins, when defs, ds, es, fs, and cer were compared. 2. The genotype appeared to be a determining factor in dental caries susceptibility or resistance, although the environment played an important role as well. 3. Intrapair differences in American children were significantly greater than in Korean when defs, es, fs, and cer were compared, but ds was equal.

Seasonal and Latitudinal Variations of the F2-Layer during Magnetic Storms

  • To identify seasonal and latitudinal variations of F2 layer during magnetic storm, we examine the change of daily averages of foF2 observed at Kokubunji and Hobart during high (2000~2002) and low (2006~2008) solar activity intervals. It is found that geomagnetic activity has a different effect on the ionospheric F2-layer electron density variation for different seasons and different latitudes. We, thus, investigate how the change of geomagnetic activity affects the ionospheric F2-layer electron density with season and latitude. For this purpose, two magnetic storms occurred in equinox (31 March 2001) and solstice (20 November 2003) seasons are selected. Then we investigate foF2, which are observed at Kokubunji, Townsville, Brisbane, Canberra and Hobart, Dst index, Ap index, and AE index for the two magnetic storm periods. These observatories have similar geomagnetic longitude, but have different latitude. Furthermore, we investigate the relation between the foF2 and the [O]/[$N_2$] ratio and TEC variations during 19-22 November 2003 magnetic storm period. As a result, we find that the latitudinal variations of [O]/[$N_2$] ratio and TEC are closely related with the latitudinal variation of foF2. Therefore, we conclude that the seasonal and latitudinal variations of foF2 during magnetic storm are caused by the seasonal and latitudinal variations of mean meridional circulation of the thermosphere, particularly upwelling and downwelling of neutral atmosphere during magnetic storm.
