The Korean native firefly, P. rufa, is widely distributed in Korea and only at Tsushima in the case of Japan. P. rufa is known to occur in various habitats such as stream area, wet fields and mountain area. Development and life history of the Korean native firefly, Pyrocoelia rufa, were investigated throughout the indoor rearing. (omitted)

The evolutionary history of cattle and buffalo has always been a topic of great interest to the evolutionary biologists. The phylogenetic studies of bovin species has been carried out at various levels, varying from the study of domestication and migration of populations to major cladogenesis. Along with the archeological studies there are studies from molecular biology and more recently from genomics. The phylogenetic perspective of the bovins and their evolutionary history, are reviewed in terms of what has been done, what needs to be done and potential challenges in doing it.

이 연구는 초등학교 과학 수업에서 한국과학사 자료의 활용에 대한 교사들의 인식을 조사한 것이다. 한국과학사 자료를 활용한 과학수업의 교육적 가치와 활용 실태를 알아보기 위해 기초단계로 초등학교 과학 교과서 분석을 하였으며 5단계의 리커트 형식의 설문지를 개발하여 202명의 초등학교 교사를 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 연구결과 4학년의 과학교과서에는 한국과학사 자료가 없었으며 대부분의 교사들은 한국과학사를 활용한 교육적 가치에 대해 높게 인식하고 있었으나 4학년 담임교사의 경우는 다른 학년에 비해 낮게 나타났다. 또한 한국과학사 자료를 교육과정에서 본 차시내용으로 다루어져야 한다고 인식하고 있었다.

Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) consists of cement, silica fume (SF), sand, fibers, water and superplasticizer. Typical water/binder ratios are 0.15 to 0.20 with 20 to 30% silica fume. In the production of ultra-high performance concrete, a significant temperature rise at an early age can be observed because of the higher cement content per unit mass of concrete. In this paper, by considering the production of calcium hydroxide in cement hydration and its consumption in the pozzolanic reaction, a numerical model is proposed to simulate the hydration of ultra-high performance concrete. The heat evolution rate of UHPC is determined from the contributions of cement hydration and the pozzolanic reaction. Furthermore, by combining a blended-cement hydration model with the finite-element method, the temperature history in the hardening of UHPC is evaluated using the degree of hydration of the cement and the silica fume. The predicted temperature-history curves were compared with experimental data, and a good correlation was found.

커밋-버그 링크는 커밋히스토리(commit history)와 버그 리포트(bug report) 간의 연결(Link)을 뜻한다. 커밋-버그 링크는 소프트웨어 유지보수와 결함 예측, 버그 추적 시스템(Bug Tracking System)에 이용이 되며, 특히 결함 예측 측면에서는 성능면에서의 기반이 된다. 일반적으로 링크를 자동으로 연결하는 방식은 텍스트 유사도(text similarity)나 시간 간격(time interval), 키워드(keyword) 등을 통해서 추출하였다. 하지만 기존 방식은 커밋히스토리(commit history)의 질적인 부분에 의존적이기 때문에 다수의 링크를 놓치게 된다는 단점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 커밋히스토리의 메시지(message)부분에만 의존하지 않고, 버그리포트에서 연결된 커밋히스토리의 파일간의 유사도를 이용하여 링크를 연결할 수 있는 방식을 제안하고 실험을 통하여 본 기법의 적용성을 보인다.

The paper describes identification of new microlichen (Sculptolumina japonica) in South Korea. A detailed taxonomic description and comments are presented for the taxa studied. Lichen genus Sculptolumina is reported for the first time for this country.

Objectives : Nowadays, the assessment of new health technologies is gaining interest as an important issue for the safety of national health in the rapidly changing medical environment. The aim of this study is to understand how ignorant the korean medicine doctors are of new health technologies. Methods : The authors conducted a survey on the status of the ignorance of new health technologies in Korean medical doctors by e-mail. Results : Korean medical doctors' ignorance of new health technologies proved serious. The awareness of the law, however, was reached to some degree. The respondents answered that the present items of Korean Medicine listed in the medical care expenses by national health insurance system are too deficient to treat their patients effectively. Conclusions : It is strongly needed to try for more active registration of Korean medical new health technologies.

A 4-year-old female Cocker spaniel weighing 7.74 kg was presented with a seven-month history of lethargy and skin problems. On the basis of clinical history, physical examination, laboratory tests, electrocardiogram, radiography, ultrasonography, and thyroid function tests, the dog was diagnosed as hypothyroidism. The dog was administered levothyroxine and presented a good response to the therapy. However, uncontrolled for about 6 months, the dog was re-admitted to hospital with depression and three seizure episodes. The dog was diagnosed as hypothyroidism with concurrent myxedema coma and gallbladder mucocele. With fluid therapy and administration of levothyroxine, the dog was successfully controlled for 3 months after starting treatment. This report describes the clinical features and successful treatment of a Cocker spaniel dog with concurrent hypothyroidism and myxedema coma.

대한민국역사박물관에서 소장하고 있는 뒤주는 검은색 칠이 유물 전체에 칠해져 있으나 칠이 열화되어 부분적으로 벗겨진 상태이다. 정면과 좌측면의 칠은 상대적으로 양호한 상태이나 천판과 뒷면, 우측면 칠의 경우 열화로 인한 박락이 심하다. 또한 다리부분의 열화가 심하고, 하얗게 변색되어 있어 취약한 상태인 것으로 판단된다. 처리 전 조사를 통하여 뒤주의 전체적인 상태를 판단한 후 건식 클리닝과 습식 클리닝을 진행하였다. 습식 클리닝은 먼지가 심하게 고착되어 있는 부위에 한하여 실시하였다. 열화된 칠층에 붉은 아교를 도포하여 안정화처리를 하였는데 취약한 다리 부분은 추가 도포를 하여 강화처리 하였다. 개판을 제외한 다른 부분은 상대적으로 이질감이 덜하였기 때문에 색맞춤은 개판을 중심으로 진행하였다.

A 5-year-old, 6.2 kg male mixed dog was presented to local animal hospital with a 6-month history of swelling, pain, inflammation, and lameness in the 5th digit of right hind limb. And a 7-year-old, 2.7 kg male Maltese dog was also presented to animal hospital with a 2-month history of nail deformities in the 5th digit of left hind limb. Abnormal growth or degeneration of the distal phalanges was observed at the 5th digit of hind limb in two dogs using radiographic examination. The masses in the digit were excised completely under local anesthesia. On histological examination of the digit masses, large well-circumscribed, unencapsulated round or irregular cystic neoplasms with/without inflammation were occupied in or adjacent area of the distal phalanx. These cysts were lined by stratified squamous epithelium that occasionally had a prominent granular cell layer. Based on the history, clinical signs, radiographic, gross and histopathologic features, these cases were diagnosed as nailbed epithelial inclusion cysts in the digit of dogs.
