Analysis on the Multi-Constellation SBAS Performance of SDCM in Korea

  • A Satellite Based Augmentation System (SBAS) provides differential correction and integrity information through geostationary satellite to users in order to reduce Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS)-related errors such as ionospheric delay and tropospheric delay, and satellite orbit and clock errors and calculate a protection level of the calculated location. A SBAS is a system, which has been set as an international standard by the International Civilian Aviation Organization (ICAO) to be utilized for safe operation of aircrafts. Currently, the Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) in the USA, the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) in Europe, MTSAT Satellite Augmentation System (MSAS) in Japan, and GPS-Aided Geo Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) are operated. The System for Differential Correction and Monitoring (SDCM) in Russia is now under construction and testing. All SBASs that are currently under operation including the WAAS in the USA provide correction and integrity information about the Global Positioning System (GPS) whereas the SDCM in Russia that started SBAS-related test services in Russia in recent years provides correction and integrity information about not only the GPS but also the GLONASS. Currently, LUCH-5A(PRN 140), LUCH-5B(PRN 125), and LUCH-5V(PRN 141) are assigned and used as geostationary satellites for the SDCM. Among them, PRN 140 satellite is now broadcasting SBAS test messages for SDCM test services. In particular, since messages broadcast by PRN 140 satellite are received in Korea as well, performance analysis on GPS/GLONASS Multi-Constellation SBAS using the SDCM can be possible. The present paper generated correction and integrity information about GPS and GLONASS using SDCM messages broadcast by the PRN 140 satellite, and performed analysis on GPS/GLONASS Multi-Constellation SBAS performance and APV-I availability by applying GPS and GLONASS observation data received from multiple reference stations, which were operated in the National Geographic Information Institute (NGII) for performance analysis on GPS/GLONASS Multi-Constellation SBAS according to user locations inside South Korea utilizing the above-calculated information.

The Roles of Ambient Pride Type on the Responses to Preference Inconsistent Information (선호 불일치 정보에 대한 반응에서 환경적 프라이드 유형의 역할)

  • Purpose - Present research aimed at identifying the effects of ambient pride type on judgement difference between existing preference and final preference formed after being exposed to the preference inconsistent information from others representing a conflict between consumer's own perspective and the others' perspective. And this study also explored the roles of empathic concerns and motive type in the ambient pride type's effects on the judgement difference. Research design, data, and methodology - 2(information type: consistent versus inconsistent) × 2(pride type: hubristic versus authentic) between-subjects design was employed. Data for empirical analysis were from 252 undergraduate students who participated in questionnaire survey. To verify hypotheses, Anova and regression analysis were used. Results - First, there was the judgement difference among the experimental groups. The difference was greater at the authentic pride group than at the hubristic pride group. And the difference was greater at the inconsistent information group than at the consistent information group. The interaction effect of pride type and information type was significant. Second, when consumers who had made their preference were exposed to the inconsistent information from other, those of the hubristic pride group showed more defense motive and less empathic concerns than those of the authentic pride group. And there were the mediation roles of the empathic concerns and the interaction roles of the motive type in the effects of pride type on the judgement difference. Third, the self validity did not affect the difference even that become increased by defense motive rather than accuracy motive. Conclusions - This research could advance the information processing theory related to pride type by exploring the effects of the pride type on judgement difference between existing preference and final preference formed by the inconsistent information from others, and by identifying the mediation roles of the empathic concerns and the interaction roles of the motive type in the effects of the pride type. In view of the results from current study, marketers should make efforts of inducing defense motive and developing and communicating the consistent information to persuade consumers under hubristic pride who have the belief that attributes of their brand are better than those of the competitors' brand, and they also should conduct marketing acts by using the inconsistent information to persuade consumers under authentic pride who have the belief that attributes of the competitors' brand are better than those of their brand.

ESTIMATION OF ROLL COEFFICIENT OF UNDERWATER VEHICLE USING A CALCULATION OF HYDRODYNAMIC FORCES (동유체력 계산을 이용한 수중운동체의 횡동요 계수 변화 예측)

  • For Underwater vehicles, Unwanted roll excursions are inevitable as they are caused by induced propeller torque, disturbances, and banking motion during turns. To estimate the manoeuvring performance of underwater vehicle, it is necessary to obtain the roll coefficient of body. This paper was covered estimation of roll coefficient of underwater vehicle using STAR-CCM+, commercial CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) code. The RANS equations for incompressible fluid flows was solved numerically by using a finite volume method. An MRF(Moving Reference Frame) Method was Also adopted for rotations of body. For the validation, the flow around a DARPA SUBOFF bare hull model was simulated and good agreement with experiments was obtained. And Pure roll coefficients were calculated and campared with the experimental data which were presented by Seoul National University. Finally, an underwater vehicle model with propeller was simulated and analyzed for estimation of roll coefficient variation caused by induced propeller torque.

ABA Increases Susceptibility of Pepper Fruits to Infection of Anthracnose by Collectotrichum acutatum

  • To examine the relationship between plant hormones and the development of pepper anthracnose, we investigated the effects of several plant hormones on the progression of disease symptoms. Of the five plant hormones examined, abscisic acid (ABA) increased the lesion length and disease incidence on detached fruits of Capsicum annuum cv. Nokkwang. The simultaneous application of ABA with inoculation of Colletotrichum acutatum JC24 resulted in increased lesion length, depending the concentration of ABA applied. Additionally, application of ABA caused the development of pepper anthracnose in fruits of Capsicum baccatum cvs. PBC80 and PBC81, which were previously resistant to the disease. Furthermore, ABA administration rendered increased pathogenicity of other isolates of C. acutatum BAC02063, PECH10, and TCBNU3 obtained from the Chinese matrimony vine, peach, and tea tree, respectively. Our data suggest that exogenous ABA may result in the suppression of defense mechanisms of pepper fruits against anthracnose, which leads to a change in the susceptibility of pepper fruits and the development of pepper anthracnose.

  • 최근 전투체계는 동시에 다수의 장비들 사이에 실시간으로 데이터를 전달해야 하는데, 이러한 특성을 만족하는 통신 미들웨어로서 OMG (Object Management Group)에서 정의한 데이터 분배 서비스 (DDS ; Data Distribution Service)가 적합하다. 이를 구현한 DDS 시스템에는 RTI의 NDDS, PrismTech의 OpenSplice, 충남대학교의 ReTicom 등이 있다. 이 중 NDDS와 OpenSplice는 데이터의 영속성을 지원하지만 ReTicom에서는 영속성을 아직 지원하지 못한다. 이를 해결함과 동시에 실시간성을 보장하기 위해서 ReTicom은 메인 메모리 기반의 객체 관계형 데이터베이스를 사용하여 구현중이다. 이를 위해서는 DDS의 객체 모델 데이터를 정의하는 IDL과 객체 관계형 데이터베이스의 데이터 타입 및 구조 등이 동일하지 않기 때문에 IDL과 객체 관계형 데이터베이스간의 데이터 타입 및 구조를 변환하는 메타 모델 변환 방법이 제공되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 메타 모델 변환 방법을 해결하고자 IDL을 구조파악이 쉬운 XML 스키마로 변환 후 이를 객체 관계형 데이터베이스의 데이터 타입 및 구조 형태로 변환 해주는 방법을 제안한다.

Functional Annotation and Analysis of Korean Patented Biological Sequences Using Bioinformatics

  • A recent report of the Korean Intellectual Property Office(KIPO) showed that the number of biological sequence-based patents is rapidly increasing in Korea. We present biological features of Korean patented sequences though bioinformatic analysis. The analysis is divided into two steps. The first is an annotation step in which the patented sequences were annotated with the Reference Sequence (RefSeq) database. The second is an association step in which the patented sequences were linked to genes, diseases, pathway, and biological functions. We used Entrez Gene, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), and Gene Ontology (GO) databases. Through the association analysis, we found that nearly 2.6% of human genes were associated with Korean patenting, compared to 20% of human genes in the U.S. patent. The association between the biological functions and the patented sequences indicated that genes whose products act as hormones on defense responses in the extra-cellular environments were the most highly targeted for patenting.   • With global data totals expected to grow to 175 ZB by 2025, data processing capabilities in the network area are becoming more important. In particular, data centers are becoming more stubborn as data usage increases, and the load generated by incoming data should be appropriately distributed to reduce costs and efficiently operate. The SDN technology, which emerged to overcome the limitations of the existing network system, removes rigidity of the Legacy system by separating H/W and S/W from the network equipment, and can be effectively applied to load balancing in the data center using S/W-based flexibility. In this paper, we propose ways to increase efficiency by classifying data received from users by type by utilizing SDN technology, and transmitting and processing classified data in order of response speed of servers in the data center.

Women's Employment in Industries and Risk of Preeclampsia and Gestational Diabetes: A National Population Study of Republic of Korea

  • Background: Some working conditions may pose a higher physical or psychological demand to pregnant women leading to increased risks of pregnancy complications. Objectives: We assessed the association of woman's employment status and the industrial classification with obstetric complications. Methods: We conducted a national population study using the National Health Information Service database of Republic of Korea. Our analysis encompassed 1,316,310 women who experienced first-order live births in 2010-2019. We collected data on the employment status and the industrial classification of women, as well as their diagnoses of preeclampsia (PE) and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) classified as A1 (well controlled by diet) or A2 (requiring medication). We calculated odds ratios (aORs) of complications per employment, and each industrial classification was adjusted for individual risk factors. Results: Most (64.7%) were in employment during pregnancy. Manufacturing (16.4%) and the health and social (16.2%) work represented the most prevalent industries. The health and social work exhibited a higher risk of PE (aOR = 1.11, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.03-1.21), while the manufacturing industry demonstrated a higher risk of class A2 GDM (1.20, 95% CI: 1.03-1.41) than financial intermediation. When analyzing both classes of GDM, women who worked in public administration and defense/social security showed higher risk of class A1 GDM (1.04, 95% CI: 1.01, 1.07). When comparing high-risk industries with nonemployment, the health and social work showed a comparable risk of PE (1.02, 95% CI: 0.97, 1.07). Conclusion: Employment was associated with overall lower risks of obstetric complications. Health and social service work can counteract the healthy worker effect in relation to PE. This highlights the importance of further elucidating specific occupational risk factors within the high-risk industries.

Estimating the determinants of victory and defeat through analyzing records of Korean pro-basketball (한국남자프로농구 경기기록 분석을 통한 승패결정요인 추정: 2010-2011시즌, 2011-2012시즌 정규리그 기록 적용)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the determinants of victory and defeat through analyzing records of Korean men pro-basketball. Statistical models of victory and defeat were established by collecting present basketball records (2010-2011, 2011-2012 season). Korea Basketball League (KBL) informs records of every pro-basketball game data. The six offence variables (2P%, 3P%, FT%, OR, AS, TO), and the four defense variables (DR, ST, GD, BS) were used in this study. PASW program was used for logistic regression and Answer Tree program was used for the decision tree. All significance levels were set at .05. Major results were as follows. In the logistic regression, 2P%, 3P%, and TO were three offense variables significantly affecting victory and defeat, and DR, ST, and BS were three significant defense variables. Offensive variables 2P%, 3P%, TO, and AS are used in constructing the decision tree. The highest percentage of victory was 80.85% when 2P% was in 51%-58%, 3P% was more than 31 percent, and TO was less than 11 times. In the decision tree of the defence variables, the highest percentage of victory was 94.12% when DR was more than 24, ST was more than six, and BS was more than two times.

Reversible Data Hiding Method Based on Min/Max in 2×2 Sub-blocks (2×2 서브블록에서 최소/최대값을 이용한 가역 정보은닉기법 연구)

  • A novel reversible data hiding method using pixel value ordering and prediction error expansion in the sub-block is resented in this paper. For each non-overlapping $2{\times}2$ sub-block, we divide into two groups. In the min group, the lowest value is changed to embed a secret bit and the highest value is changed in the max group. The experimental results show that the proposed method achieves a good visual quality and high capacity. The proposed method can embed 13,900 bits on average, it is higher 4,553 bits than the previous method and the visual quality is maintained 31.39dB on average.
