작용.반작용 과제에서 불일치현상에 대면한 실업계 고등학생의 인지갈등 특성 (Characteristics of Cognitive Conflict in Vocational Students Confronted with an Anomalous Situation of Action and Reaction Task)

  • 개념변화에서 인지갈등의 중요성에도 불구하고, 실업계 학생들의 인지갈등 특성에 관한 연구는 찾아보기 힘들다. 이 연구의 목적은 실업계 학생들의 인지갈등 유형을 알아보고, 그 유형에 따른 인지갈등 특성을 밝혀보는 것이다. 이 연구에서 연구자들은 실업계 학생들이 작용과 반작용 개념과 관련된 불일치 상황에 직면했을 때, 인지갈등 유형에 따라 학생의 동기적 요인과 인식론적 신념이 어떻게 인지갈등 과정에 영향을 미치는가를 탐색하였다. 연구결과, 많은 실업계 학생들이 낮은 수준의 인지갈등을 경험하고, 불일치 현상을 설명하는데 수동적이거나 갈등 상활을 해결하려는 시도를 쉽게 포기하려는 경향을 보여주었다. 왜냐하면 이 학생들은 교사의 절대적 지식에 의존하려는 인식론적 신념을 갖고 있고, 쉬운 과제 선호성과 교사의 인정에 초점을 맞추는 외적 동기를 갖고 있기 때문이다. 따라서 교사들이 인지갈등 과제를 제시할 때, 실업계 학생들의 개념변화를 촉진하기 위해서는 이러한 인지갈등 특성을 잘 인식해야만 한다.

인지갈등 해소 지연이 중학생의 과학 개념변화에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of the Delayed Resolution of Cognitive Conflict on Middle School Students' Conceptual Change in Science)

  • 이 연구는 인지갈등전략을 사용한 중학생들의 작용과 반작용에 관한 수업에서 인지갈등 해소 지연에 따른 학생들의 개념변화의 차이를 알아보았다. 인지갈등이 일어나고 있는 동안 학습자는 의식적 무의식적으로 인지갈등을 해소하기 위해 여러 정신 과정과 육체적인 활동이 이루어지리라 생각할 수 있다. 그러나 아직까지 이에 대한 연구는 별로 이루어진 바가 없었다. 이 연구에서는 인지갈등을 유발한 후 어느 정도의 시간이 경과한 다음 인지갈등을 해소하는 것이 개념변화에 효과적인가를 알아보기 위해 연구대상을 즉시해소 집단, 2일지연해소 집단, 7일지연해소 집단으로 나누었다. 세 집단에 대해서 작용과 반작용에 관한 문항으로 사전개념검사와 해소직전개념검사, 사후개념검사, 지연개념검사를 실시하였으며, 설문조사를 통해 지연해소 집단의 학생들이 인지갈등 해소를 지연하는 기간 동안 인지갈등 해소를 위해 어떠한 활동을 하였는지 알아보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 즉시해소 집단이 지연해소 집단보다 개념변화 정도가 유의미하게 큰 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 즉시해소 집단이 2일지연해소 집단과 7일지연해소 집단보다 사전개념검사에서 오개념을 가졌던 학생들이 지연개념검사에서 과학적 개념으로 더 많이 바뀌었다. 둘째, 지연해소 집단의 학생들은 인지갈등 해소를 위해 동료와의 상호작용을 통한 방법을 가장 많이 사용하였다. 셋째, 지연해소 집단 내에서 인지갈등 해소를 위해 시간을 소모한 학생이 그렇지 않은 학생보다 개념변화가 유의미하게 큰 것으로 냐타났다. 위의 연구결과를 볼 때, 인지갈등전략을 사용한 중학생의 과학수업에서 인지갈등 해소를 지연시키는 것보다 불일치 상황을 인지하고 있는 상태에서 즉시 해소기키려고 하는 것이 개념변화에 더 효과적임을 알 수 있다.

Family Relationship Predictors of Parent-Adolescent Conflict: Cross-Cultural Similarities and Differences

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine how dimensions of socialization practice and relationship quality may function to manage or increase parent-adolescent conflict. Of particular concern was to examine the comparative efficacy of potential predictors of parent-adolescent conflict across three cultural groups consisting of samples from Mainland China, Russia, and the U.S. as well as across gender-of-parent/gender-of-adolescent dyads from each culture. Findings from a sample of 1,365 adolescents indicated that adolescents' perceptions of parental influences on parent-adolescent conflict differ across cultural groups and gender-of-adolescent. The use of punitive behavior by parents was the strongest and most consistent predictor of parent-adolescent conflict across all cultural groups and gender dyads, suggesting that a general pattern exists for punitiveness to increase parent-adolescent conflict cross-culturally. Perceptions of support, monitoring, conformity to parents, and autonomy from parents influenced parent-adolescent conflict within some of the cultures and selectively for adolescent boys and girls.

The Effects of Dependence and Conflict on Qualitative and Quantitative Organizational Performances in Partnership

  • This study examines the effects of dependence and conflict on organizational performances in partnership, qualitatively (trust) and quantitatively (sales) under four control variables (period of business, number of goods, competition density, and number of employees). Also, this study presents termination cost and alternative attractiveness as the antecedents of dependence, goal incongruity and unfairness as the antecedents of conflict. As the results of analysis with survey data from 360 distributors in manufacturer-distributor partnership, 7 hypotheses are supported and 2 hypotheses are rejected. The results of structural equation modeling (SEM) verify that termination cost increases dependence, that alternative attractiveness reduces dependence, that goal incongruity and unfairness increase conflict, that dependence reduces conflict, that dependence increases trust, and that conflict reduces trust. However, unexpectedly, dependence reduces sales, and conflict has no impact on sales. The results of this study provide insightful implications theoretically and managerially to scholars and practitioners interested in partnership.

Cognitive Conflict and Causal Attributions to Successful Conceptual Change in Physics Learning

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between cognitive conflict and students' causal attributions and to find out what kinds of attributions affect successful resolution of cognitive conflict in learning physics. Twenty-nine college students who attended a base general physics course took an attribution test and a conceptual pretest related to action and reaction concept. Of these, twenty students who revealed alternative conceptions were selected. They were confronted with a discrepant demonstration and took part in the cognitive conflict level test, a posttest, and delayed posttest. Those students who experienced high levels of cognitive conflict were selected and interviewed to find out what kinds of attributions affect resolving the conflict. When confronted with the discrepant event, the students who attributed success outcomes to "effort" experienced higher levels of cognitive conflict than those to "task difficulty." However, those students who revealed high levels of cognitive conflict and attributed success outcomes to effort did not always produce conceptual change. They had different perspectives on effort and conducted different effort activities to resolve the cognitive conflict. In addition, these effort activities appeared to include their motivational beliefs, metacognitive and volitional strategies. The results of this study indicate that in order for the conflicts to lead to change, students need to have the perspective on effort implying the use of the self-regulated learning strategy and to conduct effort activities based on them. Beyond cold conceptual change, this article suggests that there is a management strategy of cognitive conflict in the classroom context.

Conflict Analysis in Construction Project with Unstructured Data: A Case Study of Jeju Naval Base Project in South Korea

  • Infrastructure development as national project suffers from social conflict which is one of main risk to be managed. Social conflicts have a negative impact on not only the social integration but also the national economy as they require enormous social costs to be solved. Against this backdrop, this study analyzes social conflict using articles published by online news media based on web-crawling and natural language processing (NLP) techniques. As an illustrative case, the Jeju Naval Base (JNB) project which is one of representative conflict case in South Korea is analyzed. Total of 21,788 articles and representative keywords are identified annually. Additionally, comparative analysis is conducted between the extracted keywords and actual events occurred during the project. The authors explain actual events in the JNB project based on the extracted words by the year. This study contributes to analyze social conflict and to extract meaningful information from unstructured data.

해양력 변화와 한반도 해양분쟁 발생의 상관관계 연구 - 해양국력과 동맹전이이론의 타당성 검증을 중심으로 - (A Study of Relationship between Changing of Sea Power and Maritime Conflicts of the Korean Peninsula)

  • The Republic of Korea navy challenged from the unexpected surprise attacks by the North Korea navy, albeit, the developments of up-to-date naval forces' technology, and the ceaseless efforts for war preparedness. My study divided into two categories. Qualitative methods used for literature review of international relations theory related to the war onset and for investigating events occurred on the Peninsula and its surrounding seas from 1968 to 2007. Quantitative method used such as the analyses of national power index of the two Koreas, the United States, and China, the uses of equation model to calculate power index of alliance, COPDAB(Conflict and Peace Data Bank) index analysis. Like Choi's study on East Asia maritime conflict, as a conclusion, considering both AT theory and maritime national power as a tool for predicting maritime conflict in the Peninsula proved significant. Based on the study, ROK navy need to prepare for the maritime conflict because the results showed North Korea would initiate maritime disputes sooner or later using fatal asymmetric forces and methods. As a policy suggestion, we are required to maintain a concrete ROK-US alliance ties and to construct naval forces due to the deterring functions of maritime national power.

신경외과 임상전문간호사의 역할갈등과 직무만족에 관한 연구 (A Study on Role Conflict and Job Satisfaction of Neurosurgery Clinical Nurse Specialist)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe role conflict and job satisfaction of Neurosurgery Clinical Nurse Specialist(NCNS) and to identify associated factors. Method: The target populations was 77 NCNSs from 30 general hospitals. Data were collected with self-administered questionnaires and analyzed using t-test and ANOVA. Results: The overall mean scores of role conflict and job satisfaction were $3.60({\pm}0.54)$ and $3.04({\pm}0.46)$ respectively. Significant variables affecting role conflict were the working period as NCNS, the number of colleague NCNSs in working hospital, and assignment of prescription rights. The significant variable affecting job satisfaction was assignment of prescription rights. There was no statistically significant correlation between job and role conflict. Conclusion: The variable effecting both role conflict and job satisfaction was the extent of prescription rights. In order to improve the quality of patient care and to protect Neurosurgery Nurse Clinical Specialist, the enactment of law on prescription practice is needed.

학생4-H 지도교사의 자기효능감 및 역할갈등에 관한 연구 (A Study on Self-Efficacy and Role Conflict of 4-H Leaders)

  • The objectives of this study were to measure role conflict of 4-H leaders and to verify the differences of role conflict and self-efficacy according to individual characteristics. The data were collected from 99 leaders who took charge of guiding 4-H youth organization in school as teacher advisor. The statistical techniques used for this study were frequency, t-test, one-way analysis of variance and correlation. The major findings of this study were as follows; 1) The 4-H leaders had some role conflict and role ambiguity in guiding youth activities in the school. 2) The leader advisor group with teaching experience of $5{\sim}9$ years showed higher role conflict and lower role ambiguity. 3) The 4-H leaders with age over 45 felt higher role conflict and lower role ambiguity. 4)The leaders' self-efficacy was positively correlated with self esteem, and negatively associated with role ambiguity.

  • 과학학습에서 인지갈등의 긍정적인 혹은 때때로 부정적인 영향에 관한 논의들이 아직까지 진행되고 있다. 그러나 분명한 것은 개념변화이론에 따르면 인지갈등이 개념변화에 중요한 역할을 한다는 것이다. 이 연구의 목적은 개념변화과정에서 인지갈등의 역할을 자세히 살펴보는 것이다. 구체적인 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 1) 불일치 상황은 인지갈등의 필요조건 혹은 충분조건인가? 2) 인지갈등은 개념변화의 필요조건 혹은 충분조건인가? 이 문제를 해결하기 위하여, 우리는 관련 문헌들 속의 이론과 결과들을 분석하였다. 마무리부분에서는 개념변화과정에서 인지갈등의 복잡한 역할과 앞으로의 연구과제에 대하여 논의 하였다.
