With rapid growth of web technology and dissemination of smart devices, social networking service(SNS) is widely used. As a result, huge amount of data are generated from SNS such as Twitter, and sentiment analysis of SNS data is very important for various applications and services. In the existing sentiment analysis based on the $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes algorithm, a same number of attributes is usually employed to estimate the weight of each class. Moreover, uncountable and meaningless attributes are included. This results in decreased accuracy of sentiment analysis. In this paper two methods are proposed to resolve these issues, which reflect the difference of the number of positive words and negative words in calculating the weights, and eliminate insignificant words in the feature selection step using Multinomial $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes(MNB) algorithm. Performance comparison demonstrates that the proposed scheme significantly increases the accuracy compared to the existing Multivariate Bernoulli $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes(BNB) algorithm and MNB scheme.
In the real-world operational environment, most of text classification systems have the problems of insufficient training documents and no prior knowledge of feature space. In this regard, $Na{\ddot{i}ve$ Bayes is known to be an appropriate algorithm of operational text classification since the classification model can be evolved easily by incrementally updating its pre-learned classification model and feature space. This paper proposes the improving technique of $Na{\ddot{i}ve$ Bayes classifier through feature weighting strategy. The basic idea is that parameter estimation of $Na{\ddot{i}ve$ Bayes considers the degree of feature importance as well as feature distribution. We can develop a more accurate classification model by incorporating feature weights into Naive Bayes learning algorithm, not performing a learning process with a reduced feature set. In addition, we have extended a conventional feature update algorithm for incremental feature weighting in a dynamic operational environment. To evaluate the proposed method, we perform the experiments using the various document collections, and show that the traditional $Na{\ddot{i}ve$ Bayes classifier can be significantly improved by the proposed technique.

This study was to compare the effectiveness and validity of various data-mining algorithm for Sasang type diagnostic test. We compared the sensitivity and specificity index of nine attribute selection and eleven class classification algorithms with 31 data-set characterizing Sasang typology and 10-fold validation methods installed in Waikato Environment Knowledge Analysis (WEKA). The highest classification validity score can be acquired as follows; 69.9 as Percentage Correctly Predicted index with Naive Bayes Classifier, 80 as sensitivity index with LWL/Tae-Eum type, 93.5 as specificity index with Naive Bayes Classifier/So-Eum type. The classification algorithm with highest PCP index of 69.62 after attribute selection was Naive Bayes Classifier. In this study we can find that the best-fit algorithm for traditional medicine is case sensitive and that characteristics of clinical circumstances, and data-mining algorithms and study purpose should be considered to get the highest validity even with the well defined data sets. It is also confirmed that we can't find one-fits-all algorithm and there should be many studies with trials and errors. This study will serve as a pivotal foundation for the development of medical instruments for Pattern Identification and Sasang type diagnosis on the basis of traditional Korean Medicine.
In order to provide with personalized recommendation service in context-awareness environment, the collected context data should be analyzed fast and the objective of user should be able to inferred effectively. But, the context collected from the mobile devices is not suitable for applying the existing inference algorithms as they are due to the omission or uncertainty of information and the efficient algorithms are required for mobile environment. In this paper, the behavior pattern was classified using naive bayes classification for minimize the loss caused by the omission or error of information. And pattern matching was used to effectively learn of the users inclination and infer the behavior purpose. The accuracy of the suggested inference model was evaluated by applying to the application recommendation service in the smart phones.
Recently, predicting personality with the help of smartphone usage becomes very interesting and attention grabbing topic in the field of research. At present there are some approaches towards detecting a user's personality which uses the smartphones usage data, such as call detail records (CDRs), the usage of short message services (SMSs) and the usage of social networking services application. In this paper, we focus on the assessing the correlation between MBTI based user personality and the smartphone usage data. We used $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes and SVM classifier for classifying user personalities by extracting some features from smartphone usage data. From analysis it is observed that, among all extracted features facebook usage log working as the best feature for classification of introverts and extraverts; and SVM classifier works well as compared to $Na{\ddot{i}}ve$ Bayes.
Owing to the increase of FTA, food trade, and versatile preferences of consumers, food import has increased at tremendous rate every year. While the inspection check of imported food accounts for about 20% of the total food import, the budget and manpower necessary for the government's import inspection control is reaching its limit. The sudden import food accidents can cause enormous social and economic losses. Therefore, predictive system to forecast the compliance of food import with its preemptive measures will greatly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of import safety control management. There has already been a huge data accumulated from the past. The processed foods account for 75% of the total food import in the import food sector. The analysis of big data and the application of analytical techniques are also used to extract meaningful information from a large amount of data. Unfortunately, not many studies have been done regarding analyzing the import food and its implication with understanding the big data of food import. In this context, this study applied a variety of classification algorithms in the field of machine learning and suggested a data preprocessing method through the generation of new derivative variables to improve the accuracy of the model. In addition, the present study compared the performance of the predictive classification algorithms with the general base classifier. The Gaussian Naïve Bayes prediction model among various base classifiers showed the best performance to detect and predict the nonconformity of imported food. In the future, it is expected that the application of the abnormality detection model using the Gaussian Naïve Bayes. The predictive model will reduce the burdens of the inspection of import food and increase the non-conformity rate, which will have a great effect on the efficiency of the food import safety control and the speed of import customs clearance.
Many metric-based classification models have been proposed to predict fault-proneness of software module. This paper presents two prediction models using Bayesian classifier which is one of the most popular modern classification algorithms. Bayesian model based on Bayesian probability theory can be a promising technique for software quality prediction. This is due to the ability to represent uncertainty using probabilities and the ability to partly incorporate expert's knowledge into training data. The two models, Na$\ddot{i}$veBayes(NB) and Bayesian Belief Network(BBN), are constructed and dimensionality reduction of training data and test data are performed before model evaluation. Prediction accuracy of the model is evaluated using two prediction error measures, Type I error and Type II error, and compared with well-known prediction models, backpropagation neural network model and support vector machine model. The results show that the prediction performance of BBN model is slightly better than that of NB. For the data set with ambiguity, although the BBN model's prediction accuracy is not as good as the compared models, it achieves better performance than the compared models for the data set without ambiguity.
Naive Bayes nearest neighbor (NBNN) is a simple image classifier based on identifying nearest neighbors. NBNN uses original image descriptors (e.g., SIFTs) without vector quantization for preserving the discriminative power of descriptors and has a powerful generalization characteristic. However, it has a distinct disadvantage. Its memory requirement can be prohibitively high while processing a large amount of data. To deal with this problem, we apply a spherical hashing binary code embedding technique, to compactly encode data without significantly losing classification accuracy. We also propose using an inverted index to identify nearest neighbors among binarized image descriptors. To demonstrate the benefits of our method, we apply our method to two existing NBNN techniques with an image dataset. By using 64 bit length, we are able to reduce memory 16 times with higher runtime performance and no significant loss of classification accuracy. This result is achieved by our compact encoding scheme for image descriptors without losing much information from original image descriptors.

With the rapid growth of the Internet, millions of indiscriminate advertising SMS are sent every day because of the convenience of sending and receiving data. Although we still use methods to block spam words manually, we have been actively researching how to filter spam in a various ways as machine learning emerged. However, spam words and patterns are constantly changing to avoid being filtered, so existing machine learning mechanisms cannot detect or adapt to new words and patterns. Recently, the concept of Lifelong Learning emerged to overcome these limitations, using existing knowledge to keep learning new knowledge continuously. In this paper, we propose a method of spam filtering system using ensemble techniques of naive bayesian which is most commonly used in document classification and LLML(Lifelong Machine Learning). We validate the performance of lifelong learning by applying the model ELLA and the Naive Bayes most commonly used in existing spam filters.
