톱니형휜이 부착된 2중 열교환관을 이용한 엔진 배열회수기에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Heat Exchanger for the Engine Waste Heat Recovery Using Serrated Fins and Bayonet Tube)

  • In this study, high performance waste heat recovery heat exchanger was developed using the bayonet tube with spiral serrated fins. Especially, heat exchanger of the bayonet tube type was operated well because of double water passes mechanism and characteristics. A cooling water Passes down inner tubes to thimble-form tubes, then flows back up as it boils. The heat exchanger of bayonet tube type was composed of steel tube with 7channels$(I.D_1\;14mm.\;I.D_2\;31.6mm)$ and spiral serrated fins. The performance tests were conducted under the following conditions A cooling water flow rate was 273kg/h and engine l·pm was varied from 750rpm to 3500 rpm. From the experimental result. waste heat recovery was 9.21kW when engine rpm was 3500. and pressure drop was $15\~260mmHg/m^3$ The effectiveness of heat exchanger was about /$0.7\~0.9$. The performance of heat exchanger was evaluated by using the $\varepsilon-NTU$ method. In the study the NTU of the heat exchanger was $1.57\~2.33$.

  • Since a typical plate heat exchanger is made up of a huge number of unitary cells, it may be impossible to predict the aero-thermal performance of the full scale heat exchanger through three-dimensional numerical simulation due to the enormous amount of computing resources and time required. In the present study, a simple flow-network model using the friction factor correlation and a thermal-network model based on the effectiveness-number of transfer units (${\varepsilon}$-NTU) method has been developed. The complicated flow pattern inside the cross-corrugated heat exchanger has been modeled into flow and thermal networks. Using this model, the heat transfer between neighboring streams can be considered, and the pressure drop and the heat transfer rate of full-scale heat exchanger matrix are calculated. In the calculation, the aero-thermal performance of each unitary cell of the heat exchanger matrix was evaluated using correlations of the Fanning friction factor f and the Nusselt number Nu, which were calculated by unitary-cell CFD model.

  • Ren et al. analyzed the performance of the indirect evaporative cooler according to the direction of the flow considering evaporation water flow and wetness. However the effect of NTU of each channel on the performance of the indirect evaporative cooler according to the direction of the flow was not analyzed exactly. In this study the effect of the direction of the flow on the Indirect evaporative cooling performance changing NTU of each channel are investigated theoretically. The cooling process of the indirect evaporative cooler by flow direction is modeled into a set of linear differential equations and solved to obtain the exact solutions to the temperatures of the hot fluid, the moist air, and evaporation water. Based on the exact solution in the case of different NTU of each channel, we study the change of the distribution of the temperature according to each flow direction and at the same time analyze the effect of the flow direction on the cooling performance.

급속모래여과 공정에서의 여과보조제에 의한 수질개선효과 연구 (The Improvement of Water Quality by Using Filter-aids in Rapid Sand Filters)

  • The objective of this study it to evaluate the microbial safety in rapid sand filters adapted in most drinking water treatment plants. The potential pathogens to cause water quality problems Are presumed to be Giardia and Gryptosporidium. They look like particles in view of their size. It has been reported that if the number of particles (larger than 2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in water) is less than 100 per mL and its turbidity is below 0.1 NTU, it is considered as a safe water in terms of pathogens. In order to achieve such a good water quality. filter-aids (chemicals) were added to the inlet-channel of filter and their effectiveness was evaluated on the basis of water quality factors such as turbidity and particle counting. This study was conducted in she three steps of experiment: jar test. pilot plant test and real water treatment plant test (P plant in seoul). The experiment reult of the P water treatment showed that cationic polyamine was the most effective in the removal of particles and turbidity at the does of 0.25 mg/L. The turbidity without filer-aids showed in the range of 0.12 ~0.17 NTU during filtration and 0.14 NTU on the average. However. with addition of polyamine, the turbidity represented below(or less than) 0.1 NTU after 20 min in the start of filtration and kept 0.08 NTU on the average. On the other hand, as for number of particles, while no filter-aids led to the range of 111 ~270 per mL and 190 on the average, addition of polydmine led to 113 per mL on talc average, and kept below100 per mL after 20 min in the start of filtration.

  • 오늘날 고성능컴퓨터로 인해 많은 산업분야에서 전산해석이 사용되고 있다. 하지만 정해진 컴퓨터자원과 시간에 의해 3 차원 풀 스케일 해석에서는 많은 어려움 등이 있다. 본 연구에서 ${\varepsilon}-NTU$ 식과 열교환기 성능의 데이터베이스를 이용해 열교환기의 성능예측프로그램을 개발하였다. 다양한 타입의 열교환기 형상정보와 성능데이터베이스를 구축하였고, 이를 바탕으로 정해진 작동 조건에서 열교환기의 성능을 계산하였다. 계산된 정보를 바탕으로 최적의 사이즈를 갖는 형상을 찾기 위해 유전알고리즘(Genetic Algorithm)을 이용하였다. 계산을 위해 상용 소프트웨어인 MATLAB 과 REFPROP 이 사용되었다.

단기간 탁수와 유속 변동이 부착돌말류 성장에 미치는 영향 (Short-term Effects of Turbid Water and Flow Rate on the Benthic Diatom Community in an Artificial Channel)

  • Short-term effects of current velocity and turbid water on the benthic diatom community and water quality were examined in artificial channel ($20{\times}200{\times}10cm$) with two different experiments. The first and second experiments were consisted of different current velocities such as 1 L/min., and 1, 3, and 6 L/min., respectively. The concentration of turbid water is prepared with loess and fixed at 10 and 20 times of the turbidity of control inflow (10 NTU, LTW), respectively. At experiment 1 (EXP-1), introduction of turbid water increased dissolved oxygen, electric conductivity, pH and turbidity, but there were no differences between low- (100 NTU, MTW) and high-turbid water (200 NTU, HTW). However, experiment 2 (EXP-2) did not change any environmental parameters except dissolved total and inorganic nitrogen like EXP-1. MTW in EXP-1 strongly stimulated the growth of benthic diatom, while both MTW (150 NTU) and HTW (300 NTU) in EXP-2 did not increase or decrease the diatom abundance. Over the study, the dominant species was four, Aulacoseira ambigua, Cyclotella stelligera, Aulacoseira granulata and Achnanthes minutissima. In EXP-1, two highest species in abundance, A. ambigua and A. granulata were highly grown in MTW, while Achnanthes minutissima high in HTW adversely. These results indicate that the introduction of turbid water can play an important role in the shift of water quality and benthic diatom community in stream ecosystem, especially inflow of soil water in low current velocity.

상수관망에서 역추적 계산법을 이용한 탁수 발생관 탐지 (Detection of turbid water generated pipe through back tracing calculation method in water distribution system)

  • 상수도관은 사용년수가 경과함에 따라 노후화가 진행되며, 노후화된 상수관은 내부적으로 부식, 이물질 퇴적, 균열 등의 현상이 발생하게 되고, 이는 결국 수질문제로 연결되어, 탁수사고 발생 확률증가의 주요 원인이 되고 있다. 국내 상수도관의 경우 매설년수의 증가로 인해 내구연한이 도래한 상수관망의 비중이 점차 증가하고 있으며, 2019년 서울시 문래동 수질사고, 2019년 인천 붉은 수돗물 사고, 2022년 안양 동안구 탁수사고, 2022년 여수시 웅천 탁수사고 등 관의 노후화로인한 탁수 사고가 빈번하게 발생되고 있어 수도 사용자에게 불편함을 끼치고 있다. 현재 정수장 및 상수관망에 설치된 탁도계를 통해 수질에 대한 감시를 진행하고 있지만, 경제적인 문제로 인해 모든 상수도관에 탁도계를 설치하기에는 현실적으로 불가능하며, 제한적인 탁도계의 개수를 통해 수질에 대한 감시 및 관리를 진행하고 있는 실정이다. 이러한 상황으로 인해 탁수사고 발생 시 발생 원인분석 및 최초 발생위치 결정이 쉽지 않으며, 보수 보강을 통한 상수도관의 정상화까지 오랜 시간이 걸리게 된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 상수관망에서 탁수 발생 시 최초 발생 위치를 결정할 수 있는 기법을 개발하였으며, 이를 실제 상수도관망에 적용하여 탁수발생 파이프를 탐지하였다. 탁수사고 발생 시 실측된 수질 데이터의 부족으로 인해 임의의 파이프에서 탁수가 발생하였다고 가상의 탁수 발생시나리오를 가정하였으며, 완전혼합농도식을 통해 관망에 설치된 탁도계의 NTU(Nethelometric Paultity Unit) 농도를 계산하여 가상의 탁수발생 시나리오를 상수도관망에 적용하였다. 이후, 역추적 계산기법을 통해 파이프의 초기 NTU 농도를 변화시켜주며 관망내 설치된 탁도계의 NTU 농도를 계산하였으며, 가상 시나리오를 적용하여 계산된 탁도계의 NTU 농도와 역추적 계산법을 적용하여 계산된 탁도계의 NTU 농도의 Percentage Error를 비교/분석하여 탁수 발생 파이프를 탐지하였다. 분석결과, 가상 시나리오의 최초 탁수발생 파이프와 역추적 계산법을 적용하여 탐지한 최초 탁수발생 파이프의 위치가 일치하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 개발된 역추적계산을 통한 탁수발생 파이프 탐지기법을 실제 관로 교체사업에 활용한다면 파이프의 개선 우선순위를 보다 명확하게 판단할 수 있으며, 더 나아가 상수도 관망의 유지관리에 활용하여 경제적이고 효율적인 상수관망 시스템관리를 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

백연 방지를 위한 NWD냉각탑의 성능해석에 관한 수치해석적 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Performance Analysis of the Plume Abatement NWD Cooling Tower)

  • The performance and design analysis for a NWD cooling tower using a combined wet and dry type fill are numerically investigated and compared with the experimental results. The Stoecker's method is applied to the wet section and LMTD or NTU-Effectiveness method to the wet and dry sections. The efficiency ratio of the NWD cooling tower to a wet type crossflow cooling tower is 59.34%. The predicted result shows a good agreement with the experimental data within 1.4% error. Plume abatement is far better with a NWD cooling tower than a counterflow cooling tower. It costs less than a conventional wet/dry tower because the finned exchanger is eliminated. This method also leaves out complexity in structure and Intricacy in operation.

NTU법을 이용한 대향류형 냉각탑의 성능해석에 관한 연구 (A study on the counter-flow cooling tower performance analysis using NTU-method)

  • The thermal performance of cooling towers is affected by the temperature of inlet water, wet bulb temperature of entering air add water-air flow rate. In this study, the effects of these variables are simulated using NTU-method and experimentally investigated for the counter-flow cooling towers. The simulation program to evaluate these variables which affect the performance of cooling tower was developed. The maximum errors between the results of simulations and experiments were 3.8% under the standard design conditions and 5.4% under the other conditions. The performance was increased up to 46~50% as the water loading was increased from $6.8m^3$/$hr\cdot m^2$ to $15.9m^3$/$hr\cdot m^2$. The range was reduced up to 56~42% when the wet bulb temperature of the entering air was increased from $22^{\circ}C\; to\; 29^{\circ}C.$

물속의 방사성핵종(세슘) 제거율 연구 (Study on Removal of Cesium in Water Treatment System)

  • 본 연구에서는 물속에 존재하는 방사성 세슘($Cs^+$)의 정수처리 제거방법을 고찰하였다. 세슘은 물속에서 대부분 이온상태인 $Cs^+$로 존재하여 모래여과, 정수약품(PACl), 분말활성탄(PAC) 및 정수약품(PACl + PAC) 혼합주입에 의해 제거되지 않았으나 탁도가 증가함에 따라 세슘 제거율이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. G-취수장 주변 고형물과 황토를 이용하여 탁도를 각각 74 NTU와 103 NTU로 조정했을 때 세슘의 제거율은 각각 약 56%, 51%이었으며 상징수를 GAC로 여과한 경우, 세슘의 약 80%가 제거되었다. 따라서 효과적인 세슘 제거를 위해서는 황토 등을 이용하여 원수 탁도를 80 NTU 이상 조정해야 하는 것으로 나타났다. GAC에 의한 세슘 제거의 경우, 약 60%가 제거됨을 알 수 있었으며 이것은 접촉에 따른 흡착에 의해 제거된 것으로 판단된다. 막에 의한 세슘 제거에 있어서 정밀여과막으로는 제거되지 않았으나 역삼투막에서는 75%가 제거되었다.
