  • Purpose: This study was to the investigate recognition of physical activity between physical therapy students (PTS) and non-physical therapy students (NPTS) by measuring the level of physical activity using International Physical Activity Questionnaires (IPAQ). Methods: A cross-sectional survey was completed by 191 university students. The IPAQ with an additional question (Is physical activity necessary for your future job?) was used to evaluate the recognition and the amount of physical activity. The collected data were calculated as MET-minutes scores and were classified as walking, moderate, and vigorous level of physical activity. The students were analyzed by dividing them into those who had a part-time employment (16 PTS and 12 NPTS) and those who did not have a part-time employment (80 PTS and 83 NPTS). Results: In students with a part-time employment, no significances were observed between the PTS and NPTS, in terms of MET, frequency and time of physical activity, and sitting time (p>0.05). In students without a part-time employment, the NPTS was significantly higher than the PTS for the MET and frequency of physical activity in a vigorous level (p<0.05), and there were no significant differences in other levels of physical activity (p>0.05). In the additional question, the PTS showed a slightly higher than the NPTS (p<0.05). Conclusion: The physical therapy students did not remarkable barrier to recognition of physical activity, but there was a difference in their recognition of the vigorous level of physical activity. Therefore, the understanding of physical activity for PTS would play an important role in the recognition of how physical activity can be promoted.

  • A Non_Pneumatic tire (NPT) has spoke to replace air of the pneumatic tires. A NPT appears to have advantages over the conventional pneumatic tire in terms of flat proof and maintenance free. And a NPT can also be used in the space environment since it uses no air for inflation. In this study, the static contact pressure of NPTs with auxetic honeycomb spokes is investigated as a function of vertical loading and is compared with that of a pneumatic tire. The finite element based numerical simulation of the local stress of an airless tire is carried out with ABAQUS for varying vertical force and honeycomb spokes geometries.

  • The entrance of non prism totalstation brought the application possibility to many fields including a topographic survey and a facility measurement. In this research we would try to examine the errors and the problems which will be happened in measuring object with non prism totalstation and to evaluate the accuracy and applicability. For this purposes, We checked accuracy change according to the observation ang1e and material of the object, and analyzed how much accuracy was effected with the color of the object surface and laser divergency which is proportional to the distance. By measuring the facility practically and analyzing it's results, We evaluated possibility of practical use of a non prism totalstation for a facility measurement. Consequently, We propose that the observation accuracy of non prism totalstation is not depend on the hardness or material of the object and can get a good result only when we use non prism totalstation with coaxial focusing system for a facility survey.

  • The purpose or this paper is to investigate the relationship between highway improvement and Induced Travel Demand(ITD) focusing on the Seoul metropolitan area data. In addition, authors tried to estimate basic unit of demand elasticity focusing on zone and trip purpose which can be applied for the ITD forecasting. The results are based on the 2002 Metropolitan Household Transportation Survey Data, where the demand elasticity (DE) is -0.582 in Seoul, -0.597 in Incheon and -0.559 in Gyounggi province, respectively. This study revealed part of the relationship between highway improvement and ITD for metropolitan region and provided the framework for yielding real estimated values by applying the concept of demand elasticity in terms of the relationship by using regional and long-term data. We expect that the basic unit of demand elasticity focusing on zone and trip purpose can be applied for the ITD forecasting to analyze the whole demand exactly The estimated DE's for age group and day of week can also be used for Proper transportation management and transport Policy making. Some limitations have also been discussed.
