유동인구 밀집지역 인근의 도로구간별 배출량 산정 및 보행자 노출 강도 평가 (Estimation of Link-Based Traffic-Related Air Pollutant Emissions and the Exposure Intensity on Pedestrian Near Busy Streets)

  • The objective of this study is to estimate the level of exposure of traffic-related air pollutants (TRAPs) on the pedestrians in Seoul area. The road network's link-based pollutant emission was calculated by using a set of mobile source emission factor package and associated activity information. The population information, which is the number of pedestrian, was analyzed in conjunction with the link-based traffic emissions in order to quantify exposure level by selected 23 spots. We proposed the Exposure Intensity, which is defined by the amount of traffic emission and the population, to quantify the probability of exposure of pedestrian. Link-based traffic NOx and PM emissions vary by up to four times depending on the location of each spot. The Hot-spots is estimated to be around 1.8 times higher Exposure Intensity than the average of the 23 selected spots. The information of Exposure Intensity of each spot allows us to develop localized policies for air quality and health. Even in the same area, the Exposure Intensity over time also shows a large fluctuation, which gives suggestions for establishing site-specific counter-measures.

정적연소기내 H2-LPG 연료의 혼합 비율에 따른 연소 및 배출가스 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Combustion and Emission Characteristics of Hydrogen Enriched LPG Fuel in a Constant Volume Chamber)

  • Finding an alternative fuel and reducing environmental pollution are the main goals for future internal combustion engines. The purpose of this study is to obtain low-emission and high-efficiency by hydrogen enriched LPG fuel in constant volume chamber. An experimental study was carried out to obtain fundamental data for the combustion and emission characteristics of pre-mixed hydrogen and LPG in a constant volume chamber (CVC) with various fractions of hydrogen-LPG blends. To maintain equal heating value of fuel blend, the amount of LPG was decreased as hydrogen was gradually added. Exhaust emissions were measured using a HORIBA exhaust gas analyzer for various fractions of hydrogen-LPG blends. The results showed that the rapid combustion duration was shortened, and the rate of heat release elevated as the hydrogen fraction in the fuel blend was increased. Moreover, the maximum rate of pressure rise also increased. These phenomena were attributed to the burning velocity which increased exponentially with the increased hydrogen fraction in the $H_2$-LPG fuel blend. Exhaust HC and $CO_2$ concentrations decreased, while NOX emission increased with an increase in the hydrogen fraction in the fuel blend. Our results could facilitate the application of hydrogen and LPG as a fuel in the current fossil hydrocarbon-based economy and the strict emission regulations in internal combustion engines.

수소 풍부 환원제 변화가 Co-Pt/ZSM5 촉매를 사용하는 탈질 HC-SCR 반응에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Change of Hydrogen Rich Reductant on HC-SCR over Co-Pt/ZSM5 Catalyst)

  • HC-SCR was conducted over Co-Pt/ZSM5 catalyst coated over 200 cpsi cordierite in the condition of atomspheric pressure and $200^{\circ}C-500^{\circ}C$. Weight ratio of Co/Pt determined from EDX analysis was 8/2, which was almost equal to the weight ratio at preparation step. XPS showed that nitrates within cobalt precursor and chlorine withn Pt precursor were removed. TEM result demonstrated that crystallite size of cobalt and Pt was under 5nm. Among these tested hydrocarbon reductants, isobutane ($i-C_4H_{10}$) showed the highest de-$NO_x$ yield of 80% under the condition of the mole ratio of reductant/NOx=1.0 at $180^{\circ}C$. De-$NO_x$ yield from HC-SCR was increased as the carbon number of hydrocarbon reductant was increased. The decrease of bonding energy between C and H of HC reductant played a role to increase of de-$NO_x$ yield, which indicated that the dissociation step of C-H bond of hydrocarbon molecule might be the rate determining step of HC-SCR. The increase of oxygen concentration in the feed resulted in the decrease of de-$NO_x$ yield but the increase of CO and $N_2O$ yield.

Pd 도핑에 따른 $SnO_2$ 나노선 가스센서의 감도 특성 개선 (The Improvement of Sensitivity Characteristics of Pd doped $SnO_2$ Nanowire Gas Sensor)

  • $SnO_2$는 n형 반도체로써 3.6 eV의 큰 밴드갭을 가지는 물질로 CO와 NOx 가스에 좋은 감도를 나타내는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 문헌에 따른 일반적인 $SnO_2$ 가스센서는 후막이나 벌크형태로 제작되었다. 근래에는 가스감응체가 $SnO_2$ 나노선 형태인 가스센서가 활발한 연구 중에 있다. 본 논문에서는 기판 위에 서로 분리된 전극 패턴에 Au를 촉매로 하여 네트워크 구조로 된 $SnO_2$ 나노선이 합성되었다. 제작된 가스센서에 Pd 도핑에 따른 영향을 알아보기 위하여 1.8 mM의 Pd 용액 ($PdCl_2{\cdot}xH_2O$ 3 mg + $H_2O$ 10 ml)을 이용하여 센서에 도핑하였다. 측정 시스템에서 $NO_2$ 가스에 대한 센서의 특성을 분석한 결과 도핑하지 않은 $SnO_2$ 센서보다 20%정도의 감도가 개선되었다.

열처리에 따른 MWCNT/ZnO 복합체 필름 가스센서의 NOX 가스 검출 특성 (The Detection Characterization of NOX Gas Using the MWCNT/ZnO Composite Film Gas Sensors by Heat Treatment)

  • In particular, gas sensors require characteristics such as high speed, sensitivity, and selectivity. In this study, we fabricated a $NO_X$ gas sensor by using a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/zinc oxide (ZnO) composite film. The fabricated MWCNT/ZnO gas sensor was then treated by a $450^{\circ}C$ temperature process to increase its detection sensitivity for NOx gas. We compared the detection characteristics of a ZnO film gas sensor, MWCNT film gas sensor, and the MWCNT/ZnO composited film gas sensor with and without the heat-treatment process. The fabricated gas sensors were used to detect $NO_X$ gas at different concentrations. The gas sensor absorbed $NO_X$ gas molecules, exhibiting increased sensitivity. The sensitivity of the gas sensor was increased by increasing the gas concentration. Additionally, while changing the temperature inside the chamber for the MWCNT/ZnO composite film gas sensor, we obtained its sensitivity for detecting $NO_X$ gas. Compared with ZnO, the MWCNT film gas sensor is excellent for detecting $NO_X$ gas. From the experimental results, we confirmed the enhanced gas sensor sensing mechanism. The increased effect by electronic interaction between the MWCNT and ZnO films contributes to the improved sensor performance.

합성가스 연료의 수소 함량 변화가 SI 엔진의 연소특성에 주는 영향 (Performance and Emission Comparisons of a SI Engine Fueled by Syngas with Varying Hydrogen Content)

  • 합성가스는 Biomass, 석탄, 폐기물 등의 가스화 공정을 통해 얻을 수 있는 대표적인 대체연료로 저발열량에도 불구하고 수소가 포함되어 있기 때문에 이를 엔진에 적용하여 에너지를 생산하고자 하는 노력이 계속되어 왔다. 하지만 연료 조성 측면에서 합성가스는 가스화 원료의 종류에 따라 합성가스 내의 수소 함유량이 달라지는데, 이러한 함량 변화는 수소의 좋은 연소특성으로 인해 엔진 성능에 큰 영향을 미칠 수 있기 때문에 이에 대한 연구가 필요한 실정이다. 따라서 이번 연구에서는 다양한 수소 분율을 갖는 합성가스를 동일 발열량 및 유량 조건에서 모사하고 이를 이용하여 연료 내 수소 비율(vol %)이 연소특성에 주는 영향을 파악하였다. 실험 결과로 각 수소 함량에 따른 최적 점화시기를 결정하였으며, 수소 비율의 변화가 연소특성, 엔진 출력, 효율, 배기 성능에 미치는 영향을 제시하였다.

박용 탈질 시스템의 혼합기 적용에 따른 요소수용액 분무 및 혼합특성 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study on Urea Spraying and Mixing Characteristics with Application of Static Mixer in Marine SCR System)

  • 중대형 출력의 해상용 디젤엔진에서 여러 탈질 기술 중 요소(Urea)를 환원제로 사용하는 Urea-SCR 시스템이 가장 검증된 기술로 알려져 있다. 요소수의 경우 Urea-SCR 시스템의 노즐 특성 및 혼합기 유 무에 의한 분무거동 및 혼합특성이 시스템 효율에 지대한 영향을 미친다. 따라서 본 연구는 SCR 시스템의 최적 설계를 위해 혼합기 적용에 따른 반응영역에서의 분무거동 특성 및 암모니아 균일도를 전산해석기법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과 혼합구간의 $NH_3$농도로 비춰 볼 때 SCR 시스템의 성능 향상을 보장하기 위해서는 환원제의 균일도를 고려한 특정 형상의 혼합기의 적용이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 특히 선박용 SCR 시스템은 설치 공간 제약에 따라 혼합구간 단축을 위해 혼합기 적용은 필수적임을 알 수 있었다.

미분탄 순산소 연소에서 주위 기체와 석탄 특성이 화염전파에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Surrounding Gas and Coal Characteristics on Flame Propagation in Oxy-Fuel Combustion of Pulverized Coal)

  • Oxy-fuel combustion of pulverized coal is one of the promising new technologies to reduce $CO_2$ and NOx from coal combustion. However, the stability of pulverized coal flame is reduced in the oxy-fuel combustion. This flame stability is concerned with the flame propagation that is affected by surrounding gas and coal characteristics, such as gas temperature, gas composition, coal volatile, coal activation energy and coal size. In this paper, a study on the influence of surrounding gas and coal characteristics on the flame propagation velocity in oxy-fuel combustion of pulverized coal was preformed. One dimensional model was used to calculate the flame propagation velocity of pulverized coal clouds. In this model, the radiation is considered to be the main source of heat exchange, and Monte Carlo method was adopted for accurate calculation of radiation heat flux. It was found that the flame propagation velocity become higher with the decrease of coal activation energy and the increase of coal volatile. Also, according to the increase of gas temperature and $O_2$ concentration, flame propagation velocity increased.

개질기용 Anode off gas와 LNG의 예혼합 연소특성 (Premixed Combustion of the Mixture of Anode-off Gas from Reformer and LNG)

  • Hydrogen which can be produced through reforming process of hydrocarbon fuel is supplied into anode side of fuel cell system. In the fuel cell, only 70% of hydrogen is consumed through electrochemical reaction and 30% hydrogen passed by as anode off gas. When electrical output of fuel cell is within range of 1.0 to 3.0kW, burner for the reformer uses only anode off gas. And it uses mixture gas of anode off gas and LNG within range of 3.5 to 5.0kW in electrical output. CHEMKIN 4.1 program's Premixed code was used for calculating the properties of each gas. Results show that burning velocity and adiabatic flame temperature are 34.4cm/s, 1681.7K at equivalence ratio 0.8 within range of 1.0kW to 3.0kW and for cases of 3.5kW, 5.0kW, of electrical output, burning velocity and adiabatic flame temperature represent 30.5, 29.8cm/s and 1722.8, 1750K respectively. CO shows the lowest emission index at equivalence ratio 0.8 and NOx reveals the highest emission index at equivalence ratio 1.

EGR 제어를 통한 디젤 및 바이오디젤의 저온연소 특성 비교 (Comparisons of Low Temperature Combustion Characteristics between Diesel and Biodiesel According to EGR control)

  • Due to the oxygen contents in biodiesel, application of the fuel to compression ignition engines has significant advantages in terms of lowering PM formation in the combustion chamber. In recent days, considerable studies have been performed to extend the low temperature combustion regime in diesel engines by applying biodiesel fuel. In this work, low temperature combustion characteristics of biodiesel blends in dilution controlled regime were investigated at a fixed engine operating condition in a single cylinder diesel engine, and the comparisons of engine performances and emission characteristics between biodiesel and conventional diesel fuel were carried out. Results show that low temperature combustion can be achieved at $O_2$ concentration of around 7~8% for both biodiesel and diesel fuels. Especially, by use of biodiesel, noticeable reduction (maximum 50% of smoke was observed at low and middle loads compared to conventional diesel fuel. In addition, THC(total hydrocarbon) and CO(Carbon monoxide) emissions decreased by substantial amounts for biodiesel fuel. Results also indicate that even though about 10% loss of engine power as well as 14% increase of fuel consumption rate was observed due to lower LHV(lower heating value) of biodiesel, thermal efficiencies for biodiesel fuel were slightly elevated because of power recovery phenomenon.
