Supercapacitors, also known as electrochemical capacitors, are being extensively studied due to an increasing demand for energy-storage systems. These devices offer many advantages over conventional secondary batteries, which include the ability of fast charge propagation, long cycle-life and better storage efficiency. That is to say supercapacitor bridges the gap between conventional capacitors and batteries. A new type electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) also called supercapacitors. Recently, supercapacitors concerns about their high power density and energy density. So we experiment with EDLC by using carbon nanofibers (CNFs) and DAAQ(1,5-diaminoanthraquinone) electrode. The electrode for supercapacitor was prepared by synthesis of DAAQ covered CNFs. CNFs could be covered with very thin DAAQ oligomer from the results of CV, XRD, DSC, SEM images, and TEM images. Dissolved electrode active material in NMP solution has been drop-coated on carbon plate. Its electrochemical characteristics were investigated by cyclic voltammograms. And compared with different electrolyte of aqueous type. As a result, CNFs coated by DAAQ composite electrode showed relatively good electrochemical behaviors with respect to specific capacity and scan rate dependency.
The polyimide composite membranes were prepared with polyimide composite solutions including graphenes by using the phase inversion method. The morphologies of these membranes were significantly changed according to the graphene loadings in composite solutions and the solvent systems of the composite solutions. The finger-like macro-voids were formed in the hollow fiber membranes which were prepared in the NMP solvent system with a small amount of ethanol. As increasing the content of the viscous alcohols such as glycerol or 1,3-propanediol in the composite solution, however, the morphologies of the hollow fiber membranes were changed to sponge-like types. In case of flat membranes, the increase of graphene content in polyimide composites causes that their membranes change from the finger-like macro-porous to sponge-like morphologies.
In this paper, we proposed XP KMPR-1050 negative tone resist to replace SU-8 resist for multi-layer micro-structures and thick plating mold fabrication using UV-LIGA process. XP KMPR resist proposed in this paper can be easily striped using a common stripping solution such as NMP without damage of micro-structure. The conditions for the fabrication of XP KMPR micro-structure were optimized by adjustment of exposure and post-exposure bake(PEB). The $140{\mu}m$ -thick and an aspect ratio at least 10 micro-structure and multi-layer structures were successfully fabricated through the process conditions. Through-mold electroplating and PR striping of XP KMPR has been successfully demonstrated.

The performance of polymer photovoltaic cells based on blends of poly(3-hexylyhiophene) (P3HT) and phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM) is strongly influenced by blend composition and thickness. Polymer photovoltaic cells based on bulk-heterojunction have been fabricated with a structure of ITO/poly(3, 4-ethylenedioxythiophene)-poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS)-pentacene/poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT):phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)/Al. We have prepared PEDOT:PSS by dissolving pentacene in N-methylpyrrolidine (NMP) and mixing with PEDOT:PSS. Pentacene was added a maximum concentration of approximately 5.5mg to the PEDOT:PSS solution and sonicated for 10 min. Active layer (P3HT:PCBM) (1:1) was strongly influenced by PEDOT:PSS-pentacene. We have investigated the performance of photovoltaic device with different concentration of P3HT:PCBM (1:1) 2.0wt%, 2.2wt%, 2.4wt% and 2.6wt%, respectively. The photocurrent and power conversion efficiency (PCE) showed a maximum between 2.0wt% and 2.2wt% concentration of P3HT:PCBM. This implied that both morphology and electron transport properties of the layer influenced the performance of the present photovoltaic cells. As the concentration of P3HT:PCBM blends as an active layer was increased, the power conversion efficiency was decreased. P3HT:PCBM layer and PEDOT:PSS-pentacene layer were characterized by work function, UV-visible absorption, atomic force microscopy (AFM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM).
Transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder is common in the genitourinary tract. The gold standard for the diagnosis of bladder cancer has been cystoscopy, along with urine cytology. Cystoscopy is an invasive and relatively expensive technique. By comparison, urine cytology is easy to perform and specific for a diagnosis of bladder cancer, although less sensitive, especially in low-grade tumors. For this reason, there has been a need for superior noninvasive technology to increase our confidence in being able to detect bladder cancer. There are many reports of the various urinary tests that are available to facilitate the diagnosis. In this article, I reviewed the literature on urinary markers and tests that may be clinically useful, including fluorescence in situ hybridization, uCyt+/Immunocyte, the $BTA^{(R)}$ test, the NMP 22TM, the $FDP^{(R)}$ test, the telomerase activity test, the HA and HAse tests, and flow cytometry. Most of these tests have a higher sensitivity and specificity than cytology. However, urine cytology has the highest specificity, especially in individuals with a high-grade tumor. We conclude that no urinary markers or tests can replace the role of cystoscopy along with cytology in the diagnosis of transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. However, some markers could be used adjunctively to increase the diagnostic accuracy during screening or during the postoperative follow-up examination of patients with bladder cancer.
A series of wholly aromatic poly(hydroxyamide)s(PHAs), containing varying amounts of 2,6-dimethylphenoxy group and quinoxaline ring in the main chain, were synthesized by a direct polycondensation method. The inherent viscosities of the PHAs in either DMAc or DMAc/LiCl solution at $35^{\circ}C$ were found to be in the range of 1.02~1.90 dL/g. In the solubility study, we observed that PHA 1, PHA 2, and PHA 3 were dissolved in aprotic solvents such as DMAc, NMP, DMF, and DMSO with LiCl on heating; however, PHA 4, PHA 5, and PHA 6 could be dissolved in aprotic solvents on heating without LiCl. For poly(benzoxazole)s(PBOs), the 10% and maximum weight loss temperatures were in the range of $582{\sim}622^{\circ}C$ and $630{\sim}659^{\circ}C$, respectively. Residues of PBOs at $900^{\circ}C$ were found to be relatively high, which were in the range of 65.3~70.8%.

Novel multiblock copolymers, based on segmented sulfonated hydrophilic-hydrophobic blocks, were synthesized and investigated for their application as proton exchange membranes. A series of segmented sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone)-b-polyimide multiblock copolymers, with various block lengths, were synthesized via the coupling reaction between the terminal amine moieties on the hydrophilic blocks and naphthalene anhydride functionalized hydrophobic blocks. Successful imidization reactions required a mixed solvent system, comprised of NMP and m-cresol, in the presence of catalysts. Proton conductivity measurements revealed that the proton conductivity improved with increasing hydrophilic and hydrophobic block lengths. The morphological structure of the multiblock copolymers was investigated using tapping mode atomic force microscopy (TM-AFM). The AFM images of the copolymers demonstrated well-defined nanophase separated morphologies, with the changes in the block length having a pronounced effect on the phase separated morphologies of the system. The self diffusion coefficient of water, as measured by $^1H$ NMR, provided a better understanding of the transport process. Thus, the block copolymers showed higher values than Nafion, and comparable proton conductivities in liquid water, as well as under partially hydrated conditions at $80^{\circ}C$. The new materials are strong candidates for use in PEM systems.

The gas permeation properties have been studied on carbon molecular sieve (CMS) membranes prepared by pyrolysis of P84 polyimide under various conditions. P84 polyimide shows high permselectivities (O$_2$/N$_2$= 9.17 and CO$_2$/N$_2$= 35) for various gas pairs and has a good processibility because it is easily soluble in high polar solvents such as N-methylpyrrolidinone (NMP), dimethylformamide (DMF), and N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAc). After pyrolysis under Ar flow, the change in the heating rate was found to affect the gas permeation properties to some extent. The permeabilities of the selected gases were shown to be in the order He > CO$_2$> O$_2$> N$_2$for all the CMS membranes, whose order was in accordance with the order of kinetic gas diameters. It also revealed that the pyrolysis temperature considerably influenced the gas permeation properties of the CMS membranes derived from P84 polyimide. The CMS membranes pyrolized at 700$\^{C}$ temperature exhibited the highest permeability with relatively targe loss in permselectivity. This means that the pyrolysis temperature should be varied in accordance with target gases to be separated.
Polysulfone (PS) membranes were prepared by the phase inversion process using water or isopropanol as nonsolvent. The Flory-Huggins theory for a ternary system nonsolvent/solvent/polymer is applied to describe the thermodynamic equilibria of the components. The calculated ternary phase equilibria show that demixing of a PS binary solution with n-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) will be fast in a water coagulation bath and will be delayed in an isopropanol bath. The prepared membranes were characterized by SEM, gas adsorption-desorption measurement, and permeability test. The membrane, which is precipitated by fast demixing in a water bath, has nodular structures in the skin region and includes finger-like cavities in the sublayer. The membrane coagulated by isopropanol has a very dense and thick skin structure, which is formed by delayed demixing. The membrane coagulated by isopropanol showed considerably lower pore volume and surface area compared to that observed with water coagulation method. With dimethylformamide (DMF) as solvent and 2-3 wt% of water, the solution can show the liquid-liquid phase separation due to agglomation of the polymer-lean phase from the homogeneous solution. The membranes, which were coagulated near an equilibrium state, show the large (micron size) round pores in the whole membranes. The pores do not contribute the permeation characteristics.
