Non-linear tension control in a winding process with a contact roll and a nip roll (접압롤 및 보조롤이 있는 권취공정에서의 장력의 비선형 제어)

  • The contact roll is often used to regulate the winding tension as well as the entrained air in a wound roli by adjusting the contact force to the winding roll. But the contact force generated by other rolls, like assistant nip rolls, in a winding(or roll changing) process may act as disturbance to the control of the winding tension. In this paper, the mechanism of a roll change process is analyzed. And, the behavior of the contact and the assistant nip rolls are mathematically modeled. A nonlinear PID(NPID) controller is designed to control the winding tension and to reject the effect of disturbance generated by the assistant nip roll on the winding tension variation. Computer simulation study showed that the performance of the suggested NPID controller is improved compared with that of the PID controller in con trolling the winding tension and in rejecting the effect of the disturbance.

  • 예방접종은 예방접종 대상 감염병 예방을 위해 가장 효과적인 보건학적 수단으로 예방접종 기록의 체계적 관리는 개인의 건강보호 및 국가 감염병예방을 위해 매우 중요하다. 이를 위해 질병관리본부는 2002년부터 8개년 국가정보화사업으로 '예방접종등록관리 정보시스템'을 구축하여 연간 1천 4백만 건의 예방접종 내역을 전산등록하고 있다. 최근 스마트폰의 보급 확산과 사용자 증가에 착안하여 전산 등록된 예방접종기록의 활용방안과 함께 예방접종 서비스 질 향상과 함께 적기 접종률 향상을 위해 개인별 예방접종 정보제공 방안이 필요함에 따라 2011년 예방접종도우미 모바일 서비스를 개발하여 제공하게 되었다.

The Effect of Soft Nip Calendering Variables on the Property of Coated Papers (소프트 닙 캘린더링 변수가 도공지의 물성에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of soft nip calendering variables including pressure, temperature, nip residence time and sheet moisture on the properties of coated papers was investigated. The change of gloss, opacity, bulk and brightness were determined after calendering. Increase of calendering pressure and temperature increased gloss, but it decreased opacity, bulk and brightness of coated papers. Nip residence time and sheet moisture content showed similar effects on these properties. Calendering conditions of 16$0^{\circ}C$ of temperature, 146kg$_{f}$/cm of line load or less were found to provide optimum conditions to obtain reasonable gloss and smoothness while minimizing the loss of bulk and opacity for coated papers.

  • National Immunization Program (NIP) in korea is regulated by government for effective prevention of infectious diseases since 1954. But the program is only performed in public health center, so many people had various complaints such as inconvenience to use public center, high cost when vaccinated in private medical organization and lack of speciality and registration etc. In this reason, it was very difficult to raise the vaccination rate to 95 percent, infectious disease preventable rate. With this background national assembly and government try to expand the NIP coverage both public health center and private medical organization with increasing budget from 2009. So in this paper an overview and preparation of Korean pediatrician according to the expanding plan of NIP are described.

  • Thermal performance of fusing system in laser printer is determined by FPOT(First print out time) required and toner fusing quality. FPOT is influenced by the thermal resistance of fusing system between heat source and nip region. Also FPOT is depended by the heat source power and toner fusing temperature. The fusing quality of toner is decided by the temperature, pressure and duration time in nip region. In this study, I have performed thermal analysis for the toner fusing system. Computational simulation has been used to understand the effect of heat source power and printing speed etc. on the temperature distribution of the fusing system. Also in order to predict fusing quality, numerical simulation of the process that paper is continuously supplied to the nip regions were performed. In comparison with the experimental results of the fusing quality vs transferred calory to the toner layer, I could evaluate various fusing condition parameters effected on the thermal performance.

Computer Simulation for the Cavitation Changes at the Exit of Offset Printing Nip (오프셋 인쇄의 틈새출구에서 공동의 변화에 대한 시뮬레이션)

  • Offset paper printing is a promising roll-to-roll technique for color printed materials. Although it is no doubt that understanding ink transfer mechanism in offset printing process is necessary to achieve high printing quality, investing the relationship between inks and substrates at the nip is difficult experimentally due to high printing speed. In this paper, rheological behavior and splitting point of the ink at the nip is studied using package software Ployflow and Flow 3D based on Navier-Stokes equation. Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) ink and IGT printability tester were used for an model ink and experiment to compare with that of simulation data, respectively. As a result, higher viscosity at state flow and pressure increased ink transfer due to higher possibility of presence of cavitation at the nip and increase in covering area ratio. These results have shown good agreements with experimental data compared by measuring density of print through.

  • In order to evaluate the mutagenic potentential in mammalian system for those pesticides which were proved to be mutagenic in Salmonella microsome assay system, we have studied drug-resistant mutagenesis in cultured L5178Y cells and unscheduled DNA synthesis in human lymphocytes in vitro. We have tested five pesticides: insecticides DDVP and trichlorfon, fungicide TMTD and herbicides MO and NIP. Of these pesticides, TMTD induced weak mutation to MTX-resistance in L5178Y cells in vitro and gave positive responses in DNA repair assay system. Therefore, its potential genetic risks in human beings should be re-evaluated. DDVP and trichlorfon gave negative response in L5178Y mutagenesis test system but stimulated incorporation of $^{3}H$-TdR in DNA repar assay. MO and NIP gave also negative responses both in L5178Y mutagenesis test systemand in DNA repair assay system.

  • This paper presents a multi-costraint optimization model for redundant system reliability. The optimization model is usually formulated as a nonlinear integer programming (NIP) problem. This paper reformulates the NIP problem into a linear integer programming (LIP) problem. Then an efficient 'Branch and Straddle' algorithm is proposed to solve the LIP problem. The efficiency of this algorithm stems from the simultaneous handling of multiple variables, unlike in ordinary branch and bound algorithms. A numerical example is given to illustrate this algorithm.
