Water content of $PM_{2.5}$ (particles in the atmosphere with a diameter of less than or equal to a nominal $2.5{\mu}m$) was estimated by using a gas/aerosol equilibrium model, SCAPE2, for the particles collected at Seoul and Gosan, Korea. From measured and analyzed characteristics of the particles, the largest difference between Seoul and Gosan is the proportions of total ammonia (t-$NH_3$=gas phase $NH_3$+particle phase ${NH_4}^+$), total nitric acid (t-$HNO_3$=gas phase $HNO_3$+particle phase ${NO_3}^-$) and sulfuric acid ($H_2SO_4$). Even though both sites have sufficient t-$NH_3$ to neutralize acidic species such as $H_2SO_4$, t-$HNO_3$, and t-HCl (total chloric acid=gas phase HCl+particle phase $Cl^-$), equivalent fraction of t-$NH_3$ and t-$HNO_3$ are higher at Seoul and $H_2SO_4$ is higher at Gosan. Based on the modeling result, it is identified that the $PM_{2.5}$ at Seoul is more hygroscopic than Gosan if the meteorological conditions are the same. To reduce water content of $PM_{2.5}$, and thus, mass concentration, control measures for ammonia and nitrate reduction are needed for Seoul, and inter-governmental cooperation is required for Gosan.

The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) reaction of promoter catalysts was investigated in this study. A pure anatase type of TiO$_2$ was used as support. Activation measurement of prepared catalysts was practiced on a fixed reactor packing by the glass bead after filling up catalysts in 1/4 inch stainless tube. The reaction temperature was measured by K-type thermocouple and catalyst was heated by electric furnace. The standard compositions of the simulated flue gas mixture in this study were as follows: NO 1,780ppm, NH$_3$1,780ppm, $O_2$1% and $N_2$ as balance gas. In this study, gas analyzer was used to measure the outgassing gas. Catalyst bed was handled for 1hr at 45$0^{\circ}C$, and the reactivity of the various catalyst was determined in a wide temperature range. Conversion of NH$_3$/NO ratio and of $O_2$ concentration was practiced at 1,1.5 and 2, respectively. The respective space velocity were as follows . 10,000, 15,000 and 17,000 hr-1. It was found that the maximum conversion temperature range was in a 5$0^{\circ}C$. It was also found toi be very sensitive at space velocity, $O_2$ concentration, and NH$_3$/NO ratio. We also noticed that the maximum conversion temperature of (W, Mo, Sn) -V$_2$O$_{5}$/TiO$_2$ catalysts was broad. Specially WO$_3$-V$_2$O$_{5}$TiO$_2$2 catalyst appeared nearly 100% conversion at not only above 30$0^{\circ}C$ ut also below 25$0^{\circ}C$. At over 30$0^{\circ}C$, NH$_3$ oxidation decreased with decrease of surface excess oxygen. In addition, WO$_3$-V$_2$O$_{5}$TiO$_2$ catalyst did not appear to affect space velocity, $O_2$ concentration, and NH$_3$/NO ratio.ratio.
In the oxidation process of the $NH_3/O_2$ oxidation method, adding $NH_3$ gas to $O_2$ gas, the detected outlet gases in the reaction quartz chamber are N2, $O_2$ and $H_2O$ and in addition, a very small quantity of $CO_2$, NO and $NO_2$ are detected. Two kinds of species ($O_2$ and H2O) contribute to oxidation, so the growth rate is determined by oxidation temperature and by also partial pressure of the NH3 and $O_2$ gases. The slop of growth rate is identified to be medial and in parallel between that of the dry and wet oxidation. Auger electron spectroscopy (AES) indicates that $NH_3/O_2$ oxide film has a certain stoichiomerty of $SiO_2$, this oxidation method restrains the generation of defects in the $SiO_2/Si$ interface, minimizing fixed charges. The breakdown voltage of $NH_3/O_2$ oxide film (470$\AA$) is 57.5 volts, and the profile of the C-V curve including flat band voltage (0.29 volts) agree with the ideal curve.

The refuse incineration plant has an important role in saving the combustion energy for local heating system. But harmful combustion gas(NOx etc.) leads to some serious environmental problem. To reduce the gas, a SCR(Selective Catalytic Reduction)system is installed and it is controlled by adjusting the flow of ammonia gas(NH3) . In this paper, we apply a repetitive control method to reduce NOx by adjusting the flow of ammonia gas for SCR system in a refuse incineration plant which is located in Haeundae, Pusan, Firstly, we analyze the inlet NOx period by FFt method, and verify its periodic variations. Secondly, we design a repetitive control system by using state space model method. Lastly, the effectiveness of repetitive control system is shown by comparing to a conventional PID control in simulation and experimental results.
This study was carried out to improve utilization of substitute fly-ash in bedding material of animal waste treatments. The amount used of fly-ash used in a pigpen or beef stall was 50% lower than that of existing bedding material of animal waste treatments. From the results, substitution effect of fly-ash put over the floor of the stable became much better. Effects of processed fly ash as a spread straw decreased ammonia(NH3) and Hydrogensulfide (H2S) gas at beef stall, but there was no benefit of replacement terms. Effect of processed fly ash as a spread straw increased 4∼5 times replacement terms more than control NH3 and H2S gas was decreased. A lot of maggots and porasites were grown at sawdust pig farm, but fly ash inhibited to grow maggots and paraeters. In conclusion, as substituting fly-ash for 5% sawdust(DM basis) in making animal waste into a compost with fly ash, we can reduce the sawdust purchasing costs and produce the high quality of a compost, especially a pollutant as NH3 and H2S gas, etc. from the process of biodegradation, and as substituting fly-ash(1,540 won per ton ; can be extended the replacement period of spreading straw approximatively 4∼5 times) for sawdusts(111,000 won per ton) will increase a real income in livestock house.
Thermal decomposition of ammonium metavanadate has been investigated by using the quartz spring balance and differential thermal analysis. It showed that the decomposition of ammonium metavanadate is proceeded at two stages which correspond to $180^{\circ}C-220^{\circ}C$ and $310^{\circ}C-330^{\circ}C$ decomposition temperatures, respectively. Evolved ammonia gas in thermal decomposition has been analyzed quantitatively by titration. And the constituents of gases evolved have been evaluated by gas chromatography and omegatron spectrometer. From these results, it was concluded that the gases evolved in the first step decomposition were $NH_3$ and $H_2O$ with 2:1 ratio and the second step decomposition corresponded to the formation of $NH_3$, $H_2O$ and $N_2O$ which was produced in oxidation of $NH_3$ by $V_2O_5$. The decomposition products were identified by means of X-ray diffraction method. The decomposition product in air was V_2O_5 and the product in vacuum $V_3O_7.$ The kinetics of the thermal decomposition was studied, giving the values of the activation energy of 41.4 kcal/mole and 64.4 (kcal/mole) respectively.

Copper is one of the most abundant metals on earth. Its oxide (CuO) is an intrinsically p-type metal-oxide semiconductor with a bandgap ($E_g$) of 1.2-2.0 eV 1. Copper oxide nanomaterials are considered as promising materials for a wide range of applications e.g., lithium ion batteries, dye-sensitized solar cells, photocatalytic hydrogen production, photodetectors, and biogas sensors 2-7. Recently, high-density and uniform CuO nanostructures have been grown on Cu foils in alkaline solutions 3. In 2011, T. Soejima et al. proposed a facile process for the oxidation synthesis of CuO nanobelt arrays using $NH_3-H_2O_2$ aqueous solution 8. In 2017, G. Kaur et al. synthesized CuO nanostructures by treating Cu foils in $NH_4OH$ at room temperature for different treatment times 9. The surface treatment of Cu in alkaline aqueous solutions is a potential method for the mass fabrication of CuO nanostructures with high uniformity and density. It is interesting to compare the gas sensing properties among CuO nanomaterials synthesized by this approach and by others. Nevertheless, none of above studies investigated the gas sensing properties of as-synthesized CuO nanomaterials. In this study, CuO nanowalls versus nanoparticles were synthesized via the oxidation process of Cu foil in NH4OH solution at $50-70^{\circ}C$. The gas sensing properties of the as-prepared CuO nanoplates were examined with $C_2H_5OH$, $CH_3COCH_3$, and $NH_3$ at $200-360^{\circ}C$.

Gas sensor properties of $WO_3$ nanowire structures have been studied. The sensing layer was prepared by deposition of tungsten metal on porous single wall carbon nanotubes followed by thermal oxidation. The morphology and crystalline quality of $WO_3$ material was investigated by SEM, TEM, XRD and Raman analysis. A highly porous $WO_3$ nanowire structure with a mean diameter of 82 nm was obtained. Response to CO, $NH_3$ and $H_2$ gases diluted in air were investigated in the temperature range of $100{\sim}340^{\circ}C$ The sensor exhibited low response to CO gas and quite high response to $NH_3$ and $H_2$ gases. The highest sensitivity was observed at $250^{\circ}C$ for $NH_3$ and $300^{\circ}C$ for $H_2$. The effect of the diameters of $WO_3$ nanowires on the sensor performance was also studied. The $WO_3$ nanowires sensor with diameter of 40 nm showed quite high sensitivity, fast response and recovery times to $H_2$ diluted in dry air. The sensitivity as a function of detecting gas concentrations and gas sensing mechanism was discussed. The effect of dilution carrier gases, dry air and nitrogen, was examined.

Nano-pulse plasma technology has great potential as the process simplicity, high efficiency and low energy consumption for SO2 removal. The research on the gas-to-particle conversion is required to achieve higher efficiency of SO2 gas removal. Thus, we studied the effect of the relative humidity, NH3 concentration and applied voltage of the nano-pulse plasma system in the gas to particle conversion of SO2. The particles from the conversions were increased from 10 to 100 nm in diameter as relative humidity, NH3 concentration, applied voltage increases. With these results, nano-pulse plasma system can be used to more efficient removal of SO2 gas by controlling above parameters.

Experimental investigations on the effect of two kinds of additives ; aqueous NaOH solution and ammonia(NH$_3$) for removal of NOx and SO$_2$ simultaneously by corona discharge were carried out. The simulated combustion flue gas was[NO(0.02[%])-SO$_2$(0.08[%])-$CO_2$-Air-$N_2$] Volume percentage of aqueous NaOH solution used was 20[%] and $N_2$flow rate was 2.5[$\ell$/min] for bubbling aqueous NaOH solution Ammonia gas(14.81[%]) balanced by argon was diluted by air. NH$_3$ molecular ratios(MR) based on [NH$_3$] and [NO+SO$_2$] were 1, 1.5 and 2.5 The vapour of aqueous NaOH solution and NH$_3$was introduced to the main simulated combustion flue gas duct through injection systems which were located at downstream of corona discharge reactor. NOx(NO+NO$_2$) removal rate by injecting the vapour of aqueous NaOH solution was much better than that by injecting NH$_3$however SO$_2$removal rate by injecting NH$_3$was much better than that by injecting the vapour of aqueous NaOH SO$_2$removal rate slightly increased with increasing applied voltage. When the vapour of aqueous NaOH solution and NH$_3$were simultaneously injection NOx and SO$_2$ removal rate were significantly increased.
